Guest Reviews
- Saca (9/5): Great place, with lovely views and a really friendly hostess - Great location, lovely to sit on the balcony and look at the view. Very comfy bed and nice bathroom Nothing - the only thing that would have helped was to provide a better cork screw and a couple of wine glasses!
- Hayley (10/5): - My mum and I had a wonderful stay. We especially loved eating breakfast on the balcony with the gorgeous view! The bed is really comfortable and the room is clean. Its away from the hustle and bussle but just a short walk into the the town center. The owner, Basilia, is a wonderful lady, very kind and helpful.
Thank you Basilia for a lovely time! Nothing
- Andreas (7/5): -
- Chirag (1/5): -
(10/5): - The host was amazing, the place is very quiet and clean, although have to walk a lot of stairs up, the view was stunning, basically everything you need are in the apartment, even the recommendation of activities you can do there, if I will go to Amalfi once again, will definitely choose it one more time Poor wi-fi
- Jade (10/5): Relaxing getaway - We had the best stay in Basilia’s lovely home. Such a perfect space for a couple or friends traveling. A great location walking distance from the main strip of town.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- airida (7/5): Location good ,but would never comeback - Location only The bed was terrible uncomfortable and not clean
- Lærke (8/5): Vi besøgte Basilias lejlighed i oktober måned.
- Dainius (7/5): - It was a unique experience staying in such an old and preserved place. We also liked to see and speak with an owner, who was a very pleasant lady. We generally had a positive stay and appreciated the location and service provided. However, the quality of sleep was the main drawback of our visit. All of the beds/mattresses in the room were uncomfortably noisy, squeaking loudly with every slight movement and often waking up members of our family throughout the night. Furthermore, the support quality was inconsistent, with one mattress being particularly problematic – movement on one side would significantly affect the person lying on the other. We recommend an urgent update to the mattresses and/or bed frames to ensure better comfort and rest for future guests, as this aspect significantly lowered our overall score.
- Anna (9/5): -
- Creba (9/5): - The host was lovely. She was so welcoming, very organised, and explained everything really well. She took an interest in us as a family group. Her smile is so calming and genuine. The location was fantastic. Yes, you had to climb stairs, but it was worth it. Facilities were spot on, it had everything you needed for a few days or more.
- Kiriga (10/5): Most comfortable stay! - Everything! The host was amazing! She was so warm and welcoming. The place was so clean and beautifully renovated. The view was breathtaking. Nothing
- Lily (10/5): Wonderful 3-night stay in a charming property with impressive mountain view, highly recommend it! - I stayed in a 1-bed apartment for 3 nights in mid-September 2025. Basilia, the owner of the property, was very kind and organised, she messaged me via Booking. com secure message beforehand to provide me with all the arrival details; one day prior to my arrival she messaged me via Whatsapp to confirm again, which was very sweet; on the day of my arrival, she was there to greet me, showing me my room and making me feel very welcomed. The whole stay was wonderful, I had a stunning view of the mountain through my kitchen and bedroom window, spacious and clean lounge/ dining/ kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, air con works wonderfully! Hot water pressure was great for shower, towels, toilet paper, liquid hand soap and hair dryer were all kindly provided (don't forget to bring your own shower gel and shampoo). Location is a bit of a walk from the "town centre" (plus approx. 100 stairs to reach the property), but with that little effort, I manage to have 3 nights wrapped in silence, with a charming mountain view to wake up to every morning! It was well worth it. Be mindful to pack light, those stairs were a breeze with my 12kg suitcase! (Well, to travel with ease by ferry to get to Amalfi Coast we all need to pack light anyway) Otherwise, there is a luggage porter service (with a little fee) if you need one. Overall, I had a great stay. Highly recommend this accommodation. None

- Ekim (10/5): It was amazing, the host Basilia is an amazing woman, loved her and loved the place! - The host, Basilia is an incredible woman loved her. Loved the place, it was an easy walk from the town. The place was comfortable, definitely reccomend to anyone!
- Catherine (4/5): - We booked it taught there was a table chairs to sit as as in picture this was a bit off disapointment for us . There wqs alot of staors and no light very dark
- Cjapi (10/5): - It was a warm and comfortable house with good conditions, worth the price, and close to the locations we had planned. The hospitality was wonderful, and I would definitely go again if I get the chance.
- Pınar (10/5): -
- Matilda (6/5): The stay was truly a disaster please reconsider before booking - The property was a convent for the nuns. there was a lot that we did not like, we had booked for 5 people assuming due to the pics it was a huge apartment, WRONG. We were smooched into the living room and there was another small room one bed. did i mention the living room is also the kitchen ? Yeah there was a lot. The pictures showed a great view, didn’t happen. And like i said we thought we were getting a higher apartment. it was a one bedroom, everyone had to sleep on the pull up couch and one bed. ALSO 50+ steps to even get up to the place everyday up and down. please reconsider before booking and i truly mean it. The AC barely worked, and the bathroom showers were disgustingly with mold. There was so much that went through my head I truly thought i was catfished.
- Elwinia (10/5): -
Super service - Host very helpful Bed was a little too hard
- Fatih (10/5): Everything was perfect. We spent great time. -
- Monika (10/5): Było naprawdę przyjemnie, Basilia jest przemiłą gospodynią, dawała nam wszystkie informacje :) - Blisko do centrum.
Miła gospodyni.
Klimatyzacja.
- Laurin (10/5): -
- Lucka (10/5): -
- Anahit (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - Perfect location, so close to the square and incredible views.
- Maiya (10/5): We loved it! - The room was great and having a small kitchen and fridge was awesome. Basilia was super sweet and helpful while getting settled. The WiFi was very slow but we were there to relax so it was for the best. But if you’re expecting to watch videos you’re gonna be disappointed.
- Diana (10/5): Thank you very much it was amazing - Everything the owner is so nice and Gus very clean All was good nothing to complain
- Sanjay (1/5): Bad - We were on holidays but it’s very horrible 100 steps and old apartment with no facility. Actually amalfi itself is not a good choice for holidays
- Martin (8/5): It was a good stay and I would certainly book it again! - All in all it was a great place to stay. The apartment has everything a couple would need, it was very clean and the bed was very nice. The view from the terrace was absolutely stunning! We preferred to have a dinner there just because of how amazing the view was. We loved it. I would highly recommend booking this place just for the view and the terrace. There were very noisy neighbours with children making noice till 1am but perhaps this is part of the culture of southern Italy which was interesting to see. Also there was some problems with a smell of gas one of the nights.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing apartment with beautiful views. It had everything we needed. Basilia was super helpful and kind. Thank you for such a great stay!
- Xue (9/5): Superb - The host is very helpful and lovely. She responded quickly to any issues we had and came over personally to assist, as she lives nearby. Her warmth and attentiveness really made us feel welcome Stairs
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful location and host it the most aoomodating, sweetest person - Location, host
- Erwina (8/5): Very good - Very steep road and too many stairs to reach our room.
The washing machine needs cleaning.
- Michael (6/5): Basic Old Convent Charm - Our host Basilia was welcoming and friendly and assisted us when needed. Our apartment was old and dated but comfortable. The kitchen had the basics - no kettle but a small pot to boil water on the gas stove. The ‘coffee machine’ was an old stove top Bialetti. The bedroom and kitchen have old curved high vaunted ceilings which make the small apartment seem a little bigger than what it is and add to the ‘old world convent charm’ of the place. Bathroom is small but clean. Bed is vey hard but what we prefer. Lovely opening up the large bedroom windows in the morning to listen to the sounds of Amalfi. Could not find the rooftop garden and seating area shown in the photos. Long steep steps to reach the accommodation. Great if you’re fit and able.
- Kush (10/5): Perfect for our family of 4! - Location was great, the host was wonderful, and the home itself was clean, spacey and had everything we needed for a few days of stay. The view from her garden was also amazing of the surrounding mountains and town of Amalfi.
- Narcy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Feyza (8/5): Very good - The owner of the house, Mrs. Basilia, was very caring and friendly. We reached her whenever we wanted. She helped us in every way. We thank her again.
- Charlotte (9/5): Excellent stay in a beautiful room. - Our stay here was amazing. It is an ideal location to enjoy the Amalfi coast, not too far from the town of Amalfi (10 min walk max to seafront). We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful property. The host is lovely and so accommodating - allowed us to store our luggage due to our late transfer. One thing I would say is that if you are planning to use the kitchen facilities to cook during your trip, these are fairly limited - no sharp knives for cutting meat/vegetables for example. Some steps are required to reach the property so beware if you have heavy luggage but this is the case for most properties along the Amalfi coast so definitely don't let this put you off of this beautiful property.
- Daoud (7/5): Good -
- Bhargav (9/5): Superb -
- Bhargav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bhargav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Orlaith (2/5): Some family moved to a different property at extra cost due to lack of comfort. - The terrace was very pretty The property was poorly equipped , no cleaning cloths , no cloths for drying dishes , beds were extremely hard , pull out bed was worse , only one pillow per person - asked for more but was refused - hot water very temperamental , queried this but was told it was nt an issue for previous guests with no resolution offered by host.
- Abi (9/5): We had an amazing time, the privacy of the apartment even though it is located in the centre of the town made this apart - Property is great, tall ceilings made the rooms cool even in the heat of Italy. Amazing patio area to enjoy some drinks and play cards. The many stairs after a very steep hill was exhausting after a day in the heat. Minimal house supplies provided such as limited cutlery and toilet paper
- Dan (3/5): Amalfi is a beautiful area. - Although there were about sixty steep steps, the unit was centrally located. It was clean. There was very little hot water, almost none. The bed was uncomfortable. There no toiletries, no tea or coffee supplied. Very basic property, no frills.
- Sonia (10/5): Maria our host was so gracious and nice Amalfi is a beautiful place to visit 🥰 - The property was very clean close to everything and a beautiful view
- Joseph (8/5): A nice sutable apartment to stay for a week and enjoy Amalfi - The location was perfect, the applarntment was clean and of good size for four people, the owner is so helpful and nice and always reachable. Near everything, the lively town, the shops the supermarkets the transportation and fares. Main facilities were avaliable, clean towels, soap, kitchen appliances, microwave, etc. There is not a lot to mention, one thing to consider, there are a lot of stairs climbing, but that is the nature of all Amalfi coast. Would be good to have an Esperanto machine and a water cattle and one more mirror. We visited in the beginning of April and was slightly cold in the apartment. There was no sea or mountain view from the apartment, but there was a terrace upstairs that had a good mountain view, we were out most of the day, so it was not a big deal for us.
- Jillian (10/5): Great host, beautiful location, clean, quiet, and safe. - The view was beautiful and the apartment was close to hiking and other activities. The apartment is in a building where locals live, the locals there were very kind and friendly. The host was very kind and helpful as well. The apartment is located on a very steep road with lots of stairs. We were expecting lots of stairs due to the location and knew we would need to navigate those. It is a workout but was worth it. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but nothing that would keep us from coming back or recommending.
- Anonymous (10/5): amazing location and view - everything
- Reshma (10/5): Lovely apartment, just outside the busy part of Amalfi. - It was a 3 minute walk beyond the crazy busy parts of Amalfi, it had beautiful views out of the windows, and the local ladies who lived below were friendly. When windows were open, there was a lovely cross breeze. FYI, if you are like me, and can’t work out the configuration of beds from the photos, the sofa in the living room actually very cleverly converts to a bunk bed - much better for two kids than your average sofa bed. The hot water was a bit spotty, and the water pressure was not always great. And, while the views and the cross breeze were totally worth the stairs, just be aware that there are two decently steep flights of stairs to get there if you have mobility issues.
- Savyon (9/5): Very lovely hostess and nice stay. - The apartment was clean and fully equipped, with stoves, an oven and kitchenware. And of course clean sheets and towels. The balcony had nice view. Amazing hostess! Helped us with everything we needed. Location 10/10. You need to climb a lot of stairs in order to get to the apartment but this is totally normal in Amalfi.
- Lindsey (4/5): Disappointing - The location, and the host was very nice and made us some coffee. It smelled like sewage, the pillows were flat and uncomfortable, the window latches were broken and the window doors flapped in the wind all night for the first night and we couldn’t sleep, there were barely any amenities (soap, etc), overall it was poor value for a very high price - the most expensive accommodations of our whole trip.
- Hawkins (8/5): Very good - Location was beautiful, AC was nice, garden was awesome. Beds were not comfortable.
- Kaygusuz (9/5): Superb -
- Marcello (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ágnes (9/5): Superb - Wonderful garden with an amazing view. The apartment was clean with a unique atmosphere. There is good temperature in the apartment no need of climate. The extra beds are not too comfortable. The hairdryer was unusable.
- Limmys (10/5): Happy with our stay! Would recommend. - Had a great stay, the host Basilica was super lovely. The apartment was located in a restricted traffic area so no cars could enter there (we hired a private driver to get us to the property from Naples) so you would have to pay money for a porter to transfer your luggage’s up to the apartment or you would have to go through cobble stone roads, hills and many flight of stairs. The apartment was clean. Good facilities and great views. The hills and stairs to get up the property but the property is great.
- Irmak (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Amazing location. Stunning view. Host was lovely!
- Paula (9/5): Amalfi as a local - The building, the host, the neighbours, the location, the view! The mattress wasn't very confortable and the appartment could be cleanner, but it still worth to stay there.
- Tanja (8/5): Very good - Location is just perfect. You couldn't believe that you are right next to historical center, it is so quiet. All the shopping possibilities and restaurants are very close. The view from the window is just so beautiful. The owner was really nice and helpful. Just for a tip, don't go there by car. The traffic is impossible and parking is not the cheapest. The bed was quite hard which didn't let me have a really good night's.
- Sharon (9/5): Wonderful stay in Amalfi! - Basilia was lovely and greeted us when we arrived. The apartment was spacious and had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Despite the uphill climb and 66 steps to get to the apartment (which we were warned about before arrival), the location was great. Just beyond the busy noisy main street, where it was quiet, but not too far to walk to the beach. There was also a TV and access to laundry which was nice. There was a "king" bed (2 singles pushed together) that was not that comfortable and a pull out couch that was full size and a little more comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and there was a little fridge.
- Chung (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing host, exactly like photos
- Smyth (4/5): Disappointing, would not book again. - Considering the number of tourists in town, the location was surprising quiet and spacious. Description said three beds (one bed and two sofa beds), but one would not fold out, so we only had two beds, which was not what we paid for.
Very noisy air vent by bed which did not allow for a good sleep - no way evident to turn this off.
Hairdryer is a fire danger and smoked and threw sparks!
Host was completely unresponsive to emails asking for assistance on sofa bed which wouldn’t open, noisy air vent and trouble with hot water (which we resolved ourselves).
Listing could have been more forthcoming about the steep climb to the apartment.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alyssa (10/5): Amazing time in Amalfi! - The host was so kind, accommodating, and the stay was amazing! I will warn that it is a very steep walk up with about 4-5 flights of narrow stairs.
- Christina (7/5): Good -
- Naama (8/5): Very good - nice and big apartment with great view of amalfi mountain .
basilia hospitality was great - very kind and available to any request the access to the apartment is not easy - very steep road and a lot of steps (but most of amalfi is steps…)
- Bernardoreynaldos (8/5): Live like a happy monk - Very nice place, former nun monastery, modernized, gas pits and oven, good beds, extra covers were provided
Absolutely friendly and helpful landlady, run directly the available rooms (in others in complex live local people) Location, to far away ip in the hill, very steep y last climb plus staircase
- Anurag (8/5): Basilia was very helpful. Getting picked up in her classic Italian green Fiat 500 felt super. She booked our “ path of g - Location is awesome. From the terrace above the rooms there are views to mountain and sea. we were in 2bedroom spacious property with air conditioning that was really useful as it was warm.
- Christiane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marin (7/5): Good - - very well located in a marvelous Amalfi
it is at walking distance from the center
- the owner is very polite and very helpful in everything
- the appartment has a beautiful view as well as very clean and organized
- The city of Amalfi is a dream and a must to be seen although all Amalfi is all on stairs, the Appartment we had was on the top and really a lot of stairs to go. so if you want to go in the appartment more times per day either you like the stairs or ask a lower floor
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good - The location was superb, and Basilia, the host, was very helpful in providing all the information we needed. We had a lovely stay.
- Kaytlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariapia (2/5): Bad location and poor quality accomodation - None Steep street followed by very difficult climbing stairs . Very hard mattress, very noisy air conditioning, poorly furnished aparment and very lacking kitchen. Misleading picture about a non existent garden area. Cleaning lady complained because we ask for 1 extra toilet paper roll!!
- Itsajaz_ (10/5): a great place on the coast. - beautiful and cozy it was perfect
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noel (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (10/5): everything we asked for! - location is amazing! beautiful Italian apartment and the owner is so lovely! the best is quite uncomfortable! if you like hard beds then you will be fine
- ACP (10/5): - Spacious home. Perfect for 5 guests. However, there are many steps to get to the apartments - not a problem for my group, but may not be easy for everyone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Steep climb to room! - Would be great for the average athlete. we weren't aware of 104 steep steps to the apartment. Carrying three heavy suitcases up these steps after the 'healthy' incline of the walk from the buses was not pleasureable. Reference to this on the booking website would be appreciated. Lacked basic things like a bottle of milk, salt, oil which most other apartments we've stayed at have. Small living area with no table inside to eat at. One couch made it cosy to sit. Lovely host and the little view from the balcony was lovely.
- Sandra (8/5): Gorgeous apartment but challenging location. - Spacious apartment with incredible views into the town of Amalfi. Perfect for a family. Location was a bit challenging since you are about 1 kilometer outside town and the walk is very steep. Probably 200 plus steps to climb or walk on very narrow curvy road. No car access to apartment. Word of caution, not a good place for elderly or if you have small children and need to use strollers.
Still would recommend it but just be prepared to climb many many steps.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice view. Apartment is really small. We had an inconvenient related to the cleaning fee of $65 euro, which was not in the website when I booked it. Host was always friendly and helpful.
- David (8/5): WARNING - Sea View apartment different location - Warning - not all of the rooms offered by this hotel are at the same place. We were surprised when we arrived and then got taken to a different location. Turns out the Sea View option is in a different place about 1km from the city. Location not very convenient - about 15 min walk into town and lots of steps. The hotels.com entry was not very clear about this and we were annoyed about this. However the views from the apartment are lovely and you will get some great photos. Apartment itself is very basic. Lacking amenities like detergent, tea towels and garbage bags. Only a single two seater sofa in a huge lounge area, so we spent most of our evenings hanging out in the bedroom as the double bed was more comfortable for the four of us. WiFi completely died on second day and wasn't back 2 days later. The proprietor did put in a 3G modem after a few days so we did get connected again but was very annoying, I would look for better options before picking this apartment again.
