Guest Reviews
- Otilia (10/5): Estancia placentera, volvería a Casa Santa Lucía - Muy buen desayuno, buenas porciones. Nada nos disgustó
- Rick (8/5): Enjoyable. Very nice place to return to after a day out and about. - Breakfast was excellent. The location is great and the property is very quiet. The lighting in the bathroom is very poor-impossible to put on makeup. The front door is always locked and the bell is difficult to hear. At times we had to beat on the door.
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely place! - Beautiful place! The breakfast is very good. The staff are lovely and helpful. Would recommend!
- Diego (10/5): Absolutely one of the best hotels in San Cristobal - The charisma of people. The beautiful decor One room was noisy
- Benedetta (10/5): -
- Tomasz (9/5): Piękne wnętrza, miła obsługa. Bardzo dobre miejsce do zwiedzania miasta i okolic. - Piękne wnętrza, miła obsługa. Bardzo dobre miejsce do zwiedzania miasta i okolic.
- Mary (8/5): Nice place in good location - The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to most things. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and an ice perk to start the day. The decor, each room having a theme associated with different regions of Chiapas, are very well decorated and designed. The rooms are all off of the central courtyard, so it can be noisy if you are in a room on the ground floor. My first night there, there were guests sitting in the common area that stayed up late talking loudly, and the small space between room and common area made for a sleepless night. Also the ground floor rooms on the street side are very noisy from traffic early in the morning. While the hotel is rated as five stars, the rooms could use a little love. The walls are scuffed from suitcases, and the wear and tear from guests os evident.
- Taida (10/5): A perfect traditional hideaway in the centre of San Cristobal. - The love and care that was taken to make this a truly traditional boutique Mexican Hotel. That didn’t exist.

- Ximena (10/5): Chiapas folklore in a cozy place close to downtown and delicious breakfast. - Wonderful stay! The hotel is gorgeous and conveniently located close to downtown.
The rooms are beautifully decorated with local art and the staff’s attention was lovely.
My husband and I went for our honeymoon and the staff’s attention to the detail in making our stay extra special was beyond. Thank you so much ! Specially to Daniel and Marco for being so kind at all times!
They even decorated our suite upon arrival ! Nothing bad to say - my stay was fantastic.
- Helen (8/5): - The hotel is small and quaint in a quiet location. My room was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely served in the covered courtyard by Daniel who was very helpful throughout. It was cold in the mornings and evenings when I was at San Cris so one needs to wrap up for breakfast.
De binnentuin is zeer mooi Het ontbijt was basic

- Annemarie (10/5): Excellent - Choosing accommodation can be tricky, but Casa Santa Lucia was exactly as shown in the photos and description. Beautiful furniture and local crafts decorate the entire place. The bedroom was very comfortable, the water was hot, and breakfast was plentiful and fresh with lovely coffee. The Wi-Fi worked great, staff very helpful and the accommodation was spotless.
- Victoria (10/5): Will always stay at the Casa Santa Lucia in San Cristobal! - The Casa Santa Lucia is our favorite place to stay in San Cris! The rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast is delicious! The location is perfect, walking distance from many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. N/A
- Giulia (9/5): Hotel caratteristico e staff super - Staff super professionale, disponibile e gentilissimo. Hotel molto caratteristico e vicino al centro. Colazione buona.
- Natalie (10/5): Great! - Always clean, good breakfast, close to the historic center.
- Gustavo (10/5): I will come back and recommend this place to family and friends. - Everyone was so nice and helpful. My partner was sick for a day and they provided food to our room. They were so kind. The only thing was that we book a room where the photos included a fireplace but we received one with electric heaters. It was great anyway. I suppose they gave the room to someone that arrived before us.
Pulito, particolare, accogliente, gentili e posizione ottima. Parola chiave - Tutto Nulla
- Raffael (9/5): Great friendly place. - Beautiful property. Friendly staff. Nice smoking area. It was cold and we required an extra heater as the room has no heater. Lovely fireplace provided but not enough firewood for the cold.
- Mario (8/5): Super consigliato!
- Tania Rubio (10/5): -
- Witold (9/5): Cozy and comfortable with good breakfast - Grate place with warm welcome and helpful staff 😆
- Kristen (10/5): -
- Claudia (10/5): - Tutto!
Luogo accogliente, ben arredato e studiato per farti sentire a casa.
Personale preparato, gentile e sempre disponibile.
- Jordan Bourse (8/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location - The staff is really nice and helpful although not everyone speaks English (which is fine tbh, we're in Mexico...!) The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms too. The decoration is superb. The wifi works really well the daily breakfast is delicious. The location is perfect. My room was a bit dark, which is fine I guess as I didn't spend that much time in it. The hotel is very quiet, sometimes it felt a little awkward but I guess this is a place for rest. Not much not to like about this hotel.
- Salvatore (7/5): -
Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen! -
- Carlos (10/5): - El personal. Es imposible ser mas amable. Desayuno de diez, buenísimo. Muy bien ubicado
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the whole concept of hotel. Quaint, warm, inviting. Felt like I was at home. Staff were the best. Beautiful hotel.
- Jonathan (10/5): Lovely hotel full of character and charm - Absolutely loved the character of this hotel. The breakfasts were amazing. We had a beautiful room with an open fire (that we tried once and loved)
- Eimer (10/5): -
- Hamy (9/5): -
- Wendy (9/5): Quirky small hotel with free breakfast and helpful staff - This is a lovely small quirky hotel. It is beautifully decorated. A full breakfast is included in the price, which was a bonus. The staff were very helpful. Reception is open 24 hours per day. Transfer back to the airport was cheaper through the hotel than through other travel agencies. The narrow winding staircase to the room that I had may be a challenge for some people (was hard to carry luggage up and down). The noise from the street was a bit intense at times - not only from traffic noise but from the firecrackers that go constantly during religious events / festivals.
- Wendy (10/5): Friendly, beautifully decorated gem. - Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Beautifully decorated hotel. The traffic was a bit noisy at times.
- Alvarado (10/5): Casa Lucia is a great little hotel that will feel like home away from home - Casa Santa Lucia is a great hotel I would recommend to anyone. The hotel is beautiful and room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast served each morning is a delicious sampling of Chiapaneca dishes. But best of all, the staff are amazing - super friendly, helpful and we felt cared for.
Staff estremamente gentile, disponibile e sempre sorridente. Presenti h24 in struttura.
Grazie di tutto! Ci avete fatto sentire a casa!
Nulla.
- Joannis (10/5): Volle Empfehlung, jederzeit wieder - Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet und super super superfreundliches Personal
- Giulia (7/5): - Hotel veramente molto molto curata e molto bella Nulla
- Andrea (7/5): -

- ANASTASIA (10/5): - Great hotel with boutique atmosphere! Great staff and many restaurants around. We like San-Cristobal and this hotel! Highly recommend for visiting
- Claudia (10/5): -
- Pedro (10/5): - Nice hotel!, very close to the zocalo
- Kai (10/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): We always look forward to our stay at the Casa Santa Lucia. Once you stay there you will want to return. - The Casa Santa Lucia is our favorite place to stay in San Cristobal! The beds are comfy, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff are friendly. The location is perfect too.
- Imke (9/5): Quaint little hotel -
- Mariuggia (10/5): Little gem - This hotel is a little gem, probably the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Mexico. The lobby and the rooms are beautifully decorated, each room showcasing pieces of local craftmanship from a different town in Chiapas. We had a room upstairs which was quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast is very good and they were very kind to offer us a packed lunch instead of breakfast for the last day as we were leaving quite early. Conveniently located, you can walk anywhere. Super recommended.
- Jacquie (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Santa Lucia, - We stayed in the suite and it was well worth it had 2 fireplaces and a jacuzzi tub. Every night we’d ask the staff to build us a cozy fire and prepare a hot cocoa. Freddy was wonderful helping us with all our needs. The breakfast each morning was terrific and included a cappuccino. Good value. You have to ring a bell to enter. Which was a but of a hassle in the torrential rain storm would have preferred to have a code or a buzzer that let us in.
- Gisella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gill (8/5): Very good - A nice quiet property. Great breakfast served. Bathrooms a bit tired but still worked well.
- kpajijic (10/5): A Perfect Place to Stay! - Just returned home from our visit to San Cristobal and our wonderful stay at Casa Santa Lucia. The hotel was located just an easy, short walk from the busy center of town making it an ideal location for exploring the shops, churches and museums.
The front door is kept locked with staff always in the reception and everything about the hotel felt extremely safe. Our room, Zinacantan, was spacious and very comfortable. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated with examples of the textiles and amber from the Chiapas area. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices and generous portions.
All of the staff there were extremely helpful in recommending places to eat, and very patient with our limited Spanish. Freddie, the manager, was a great help in arranging our tour of the canyon and taxi back to the airport.
We would highly recommend Casa Santa Lucia and look forward to a future visit!
- Scasillas (10/5): Will stay here again! - Amazing experience at this hotel. First off everyone treats you like family, the rooms are super clean and provide you with all your needs. Breakfast is delicious each and every time. I felt like at home in this hotel. Well one thing to note is that you can hear other guests since everyone is so quiet. We heard a full on conversation from another guest across the hallway, aside from that I would definitely stay here in a heartbeat.
- Jon (10/5): - This is an excellent boutique hotel with only nine rooms and an easy walk to all the historical sights.
- Ninke (10/5): Great - Friendly staff
Good location, very central
Beautiful room
Good breakfast
- Philip (10/5): A stay in a very memorable , special place . The place to stay in San cristobal - An amazing property , with each of the 9 rooms decorated in the style of neighbouring villages . Full of interesting and fascinating items in a beautiful courtyard . We have travelled immensely and this place goes down as one of the best . Attention to detail even to the crockery . High standard. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and well presented . Staff were very helpful and friendly with a smile to greet . Arranged a tour and taxi for us . Would totally recommend this little gem in a quiet location , yet so close to the centre . Amazing place Absolutely nothing to dislike
- Mark (10/5): - A truly beautiful place that felt very Mexican with lovely local textiles, decor, and wonderful central covered courtyard for breakfasts. All the staff were very helpful and they assisted in arranging two of our best exploration trips in the area. The place is within easy walking distance of the central pedestrian walkways that cross the city and that are central to sites, restaurants, and local markets and artisans. One of the best places we stayed during our month-long trip.
- Ana (10/5): Family time - It's a nice distance from everywhere, and the room is so big. The street outside are too dark
- Mari (10/5): One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in Mexico - Lovely small hotel with large individual rooms with fireplaces which were lit on request when evenings were chilly - great choice at breakfast Nothing
- Christine (9/5): Superb - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The shower pressure was great. The location was very convenient for walking around San Cristobal. It would have been nice to be able to open a window in the bedroom. The dining area was a little chilly, but fine with a jumper.
- Lynn (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Lovely hotel in the center of San Cristobal. - Lovely hotel in the center of San Cristobal. Great location, just a few short blocks from the main square. Very nice and attentive staff, although not all speak English. Great covered courtyard for delicious breakfasts. Very comfortable and super-clean room with beautiful textiles, coffee maker, and excellent WiFi. Great bed. Staff at the hotel helped arrange car from/to airport and Tuxtla Gutierrez and solo excursion with excellent English speaking guide to Palenque and San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan. Would happily stay again. Nothing--had a great experience all the way around.
- Bettina (10/5): Empfehlung! - Jeder Zeit wieder! Es war alles perfekt
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Cozy boutique hotel, pleasant staff, gorgeous rooms with fireplaces, great location - I drove to Casa Santa Lucia and spent Christmas there. I appreciate that they have secure parking just steps away from the hotel. It was centrally located for exploring. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The staff was very pleasant and professional. Breakfast was good (I loved the hotcakes!). Marco gave me a choice of rooms when I arrived. I can't say enough good things about the room...the furniture, photographs, candles, lighting, toiletries, thick towels, the soft linen, and all the gorgeous touches. My absolute favorite thing was the fireplace that Marco lit for me every night. I've always dreamed of having a fireplace in my room. Heaven! Nothing.
- David (10/5): Gem of a Boutique Hotel - What a beautiful, cozy, eclectic find this was! We loved it. The staff members were extremely gracious, the food (breakfast) was great, the room was so well done, the beds were great… we genuinely loved everything about it - zero complaints. They even had a parking area kitty-corner to the hotel where we could securely park our car. Loved it, and highly recommend it. Excellent boutique hotel!
- craiggW7143ST (10/5): Charming little hotel - Charming little hotel a short stroll from the main square. Rooms were large with lots or artwork and antiques. Breakfast was included and it was substantial with plenty of options. The hotel was very quiet although there were obviously other guests it was very peaceful. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Felt very safe, front door was locked and you had to knock to be let in.

- Luis (9/5): Superb -
- Maciek (10/5): Exceptional - The interior of the hotel is charming, featuring beautiful decor and intricate details inspired by Chiapas art and culture. The patio area enhances the experience, providing a delightful setting for enjoying the delicious breakfasts. Our room, overlooking the patio was also very memorable inspired by Antigua, Guatemala.
- Lorena (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- Armando (10/5): It’s a wonderful place if you don’t mind walking a little to downtown - The colonial style A little too far from downtown
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Fantastic staff, lovely and extremely helpful. The hotel is beautiful, ideally located and the rooms offer all the comfort you can hope for. A bit noisy, both from the main street outside the building and from the main dining area.
Our room had a window that could not open.
- Valerie (9/5): Perfect - Beautiful rooms, very clean
- Ermanno (9/5): Everybody should stay - Everybody should stay at Santa Lucia’s in San Cristobal! Kindness, warm welcoming, great accommodation, delicious breakfast, attention to important details, in a nice area close to the center. We highly recommend it!
- Experience777051 (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - We loved our 6 night stay at Casa Santa Lucia. The location is perfect because you can walk to restaurants, shops and points of interest. The staff was very welcoming, check-in was easy and we were able to see and choose our room (Magdalenas). At check-in we were given a map of the city with recommendations for dining, shopping, etc. The restaurant recommendations were excellent.
Breakfast was included and it wasn’t just a continental breakfast. You had your choice of different egg dishes with and without meat. Bread and pan dulce to start. Breakfast is from 8 to 11 and one morning we had an early tour but they allowed us to be seated at 7:30 so we could eat before leaving for the day. They are so accommodating. They even booked several tours for us.
The front door is always locked but you can come and go as you please. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. All the rooms face the courtyard where breakfast is served. They even have a bar with beer, wine and cocktails. There is some street noise in the morning which is to be expected because you are in the city center. The windows facing the street don’t open except the one in the bathroom and the one facing the courtyard. There is no A/ C or ceiling fan but you really don’t need it. They do offer portable fans.
We loved San Cristobal and would definitely stay here again and recommend this boutique hotel to family and friends.
