- Michele (10/5): The Cadwick never disappoints - The breakfast is worth the price, all by itself. Erin is a great chef. Erin, Zack, Lilly, and their wonderful huskies were very accommodating and entertaining. We loved everything about this wonderful B&B. We're going to be back next month for 2 more nights. We're so looking forward to it. I can't think of anything that would make it better!!
- Neha (10/5): Excellent, the owners are wonderful people and they made our stay extra special - It was a beautiful cozy home and very inviting Nothing! It was amazing! We loved all of it!
- Mary-Jeanne (9/5): - Proprietors were wonderful, good location, comfortable room
- Val (10/5): -
- Valentina (10/5): - Desayuno y trato
- Sabrina (10/5): The Chadwick was a beautiful place for our cozy and romantic night away! - The Chadwick B&B was absolutely wonderful! My fiancé and I stayed just one night but were so comfortable and happy with the accommodations. The rooms were cozy, private and provided everything we needed. Very convenient location too. The breakfast was just delicious and such a nice touch. It is clear that a lot of thought and care go into making this inn the gem that it is. We will definitely be returning! P.S. The huskies are adorable! No complaints!
- Diana (10/5): Well worth the visit and the cost. - Seasoned hosts, they knew when to leave you alone and when to engage for conversation. Extremely kind ,hospitable and very helpful in suggesting places to visit. The house was clean, homely and easy to find. My room was comfortable and my bathroom beatifully done and spotless. I would stay here again. I liked everything.
- Christina (10/5): For a first B&B experience…this was awesome! - We loved The Chadwick. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The inn keepers were lovely and the breakfast served was awesome. Highly recommend! It was all so great. Zero complaints!
- Tama (9/5): Wonderful for a first time visit to Portland with a great location and fantastic breakfasts. - Location on the West Side of town was great--many restaurants near by and we were able to walk everywhere. Erin is super friendly and the dogs with their daily chorus were a bonus. The breakfasts were exceptional, and we really looked forward to seeing what Erin had cooked up each morning. The bed was comfy and bathroom very clean and well stocked. I would definitely recommend the Chadwick B&B to Portland tourists. We also appreciated the tourist information on their website which was very comprehensive. Although typical for an old house, there were some ants in our room. We were also somewhat disturbed by the people in the room that shared a wall with us. Coffee and tea were available all day which we enjoyed, but the property description mentioned "treats" which turned out to be packets of cheese crackers and bags of microwave popcorn to pop. i was hoping for some fresh-baked goodies which I have enjoyed at other B&B establishments with a similar price, so that was disappointing.
- Edward (1/5): Avoid this B&B - Nothing Everything
- Brian (10/5): Awesome overnight with amazing breakfast - Beautiful house that is well and tastefully furnished. Large room with sitting chair, desk and “fireplace” (electric). Common sitting areas help make you feel right at home. Amazing breakfast!
- Renee (9/5): Comfortable and cozy bed and breakfast about a mile from the main tourist area - This is a very nice Bed and Breakfast. The owners are caring and personable, and their three Huskies are delightful. They have thought about many ways to make your stay pleasurable, from offering beer and wine to purchase and a lovely home cooked breakfast with your dietary needs considered. The room was small but very comfortable and the house is located in a residential neighborhood about a mile from downtown and the waterfront. I have no negative comments, but will share that guests are only welcome during the hours they have their room. So, you cannot arrive early before check-in and relax in the living room area or stay at all past check-out. Not a problem for me, but just wanted to let others know.
- Amelia (10/5): Great time, lovely location - The hosts were amazing and cooked us the most delicious breakfasts N/A
- Sullivan (9/5): Great place but we didn't have the opportunity to experience all the amenities. - Loved the blueberry breakfast smoothie! Our bathroom was across the hall from our room.
- Eric (10/5): - The hosts were very friendly and outgoing. The family huskies were very entertaining. The BnB is very comfortable in all aspects and convenient for its location to the center of town. The breakfast was delicious. We will certainly stay there again.
- Laura (10/5): Each day started with a gourmet breakfast in a relaxing atmosphere. - The host was friendly and an excellent cook. Their were rocking chairs on the porch & chairs around a firepit in the backyard. There was even a hammock & a small fountain. The large living room had comfortable seating & a selection of books, board games & jigsaw puzzles. A bottle of pre-ordered wine was in a chiller in the room on arrival. It's not a dislike for me, but you need to be aware there are about 6 steps to the front door & one flight of steps to the four guest rooms.
- Shawn Thompson (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Deborah (8/5): - Very friendly and accommodating hosts
Nice old house in good location Room small
Good but very limited breakfast selection
- Alan (10/5): Great place to stay. - Great place to stay. Very nice hosts. And the breakfast, to oh the breakfast! We liked everything.
- Melinda (5/5): -
- Mandi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gisela (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfasts were wonderful with out of the ordinary offerings,
- Amy (10/5): Definitely worth a stay - Breakfast was fabulous Parking was tight! 😂
- Larissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Like a family home away from home. Fantastic. - Warm and welcoming staff. Great team, especially the three furry taste testers they employ.
Great communications prior to our stay and upon self-check-in. The breakfast were varied and really tasty.
The bed was really comfortable and meant two great nights sleep.
If we find ourselves in Portland again we would only stay here.
One of the friendliest, most homely places we’ve ever stayed in. Erin especially is like a long lost sister. Great job!!!
- Ram (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachelle (10/5): Couldn't have done better! - Household personalities, great breakfasts, privacy, my own bathroom, fabulous location near great walking areas and views, very close to downtown, incredible neighborhood, treated with warmth and kindness constantly! Staris, but that is because I have poor knees.
- Maya (8/5): Clean, comfy, on a beautiful street. - Breakfast was lovely and delicious! Because I booked through booking.com though, and not on the B&B website itself, I didn't fill out dietary restrictions in advance and had to ask for a shift the morning of, which was a bit of a snag – so make sure you share those ahead of time! But the co-owner / Innkeeper did kindly make adjustments which I appreciated. There was more interaction with the residence dogs (who are beautiful huskies contained in the kitchen) than I would have expected; I love dogs, but my mom has a tough relationship / phobia with them so wish that had been advertised a little more just for folks who might similarly have fears or trauma around them.
- Michele (10/5): Beautiful place with wonderful friendly people. Everything was clean and comfortable. Great value - The breakfasts were unique and delicious. Erin is very creative and had a different meal everyday. We loved it. Our trip was too short. LOL!!
- Tami (8/5): Enjoyed the interaction with the owners and dogs. The breakfast was a big plus. - Loved the breakfast and service! Low water pressure and it took a long time for it to get hot. The room temp was a tad cool.
- Urmila (9/5): We loved the ambiance of the home. The well behaved, handsome huskies added a lot of character. - I loved the fresh breakfast and the ability to relax in the living room. Being closer to downtown but it was still worth staying here. A 20 min walk to the bars is not bad
- Nicholas (9/5): Really great weekend getaway! - This is a nice B&B! Only 4 rooms, so it's rather quiet. Breakfast was very good. The owners have 3 huskies, but they don't come out into the guest area. Convenient location close to downtown (not really walking distance in the winter though). Our room had it's own private bathroom, but it was a walk across the hall...luckily, it is so quiet, we didn't run into any of our neighbors on our way to the bathroom.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Geok (9/5): Superb -
- Katerina (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy, nice host and excelent breakfast!
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Relaxing stay in charming B&B with friendly hosts and wonderful breakfast! - The location was great in a picturesque, quiet, residential area of town. It was an easy 30 minute walk to the Old Port where we took a walking tour. The home is so charming and the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts (including 3 adorable dogs) were so friendly and welcoming. Erin's breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We loved everything about The Chadwick and would highly recommend it! There was really nothing negative about this property or location.
- Nikki (10/5): - The Innkeepers were friendly and wonderful communicators. Breakfast was DELICIOUS! The rooms were cozy and the area was easy to commute on foot
- Ronald (10/5): An perfect gem. - The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. The beautiful friendly dogs were an unexpected bonus! Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation to a very high standard and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was very nice and the hosts very friendly and helpful. No hesitation in recommending this establishment. We also found it easy to walk into the centre for our evening meal. Nothing
- Erin (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was delicious every day! I don't normally eat breakfast but I allowed my sleepy self to be dragged down every morning because of the yumminess!
- Jeff (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (10/5): - Incredible hosts in a beautiful bed & breakfast! Clear and easy instructions were helpful when checking in, room and space were extremely clean, and hosts were TERRIFIC! Such a truly delicious breakfast on our way out the door the next morning. Would recommend to anyone, anytime.
- Vivien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Home Away from Home - We had a wonderful time staying here. Rooms lovely and clean, with an outstanding breakfast every morning. Highlight (sorry humans!) was the 3 dogs who were so friendly and loved getting attention. You are around 20/30 minute walk from the promenade or an easy car ride away.
- Shelby (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at The Chadwick! The breakfast was delicious, our room & bathroom were very clean, the dogs were so sweet, & Erin and her daughter were very friendly! I would definitely recommend staying at this bed & breakfast!
- Steven (10/5): Top Notch B&B - The Chadwick is extremely clean and comfortable. Erin and Zachary couldnt do enough to ensure our stay was perfect . The towels and linens were of the highest quality. The breakfasts were superb . Erin is a masterful cook. It felt like gourmet dining every morning. I wouldnt hesitate to highly recommend their wonderful guest house as a place to stay . Home from home feel with all the luxuries one could need . No dislikes. It was truly fabulous.
- Diane (10/5): I’d stay here again if I ever come to Portland. Beautiful home and very caring host. - Beautiful home in a nice, quiet neighborhood and good location. Very nice host and delicious, healthy breakfast. Just lots of nice touches- clean home, comfy beds and nice thick fluffy towels. Nothing.
- Fawn (10/5): Recommend to anyone! Would gladly stay again if in the area! - Beautiful home and family. Bathroom and bedroom were super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
- Ingrid (9/5): Cozy inn with warm inviting vibe is a great place to lay your head - Quant family run establishment. Felt very welcome and invited. Breakfast and hosts recommendations were wonderful. Bathroom separate but still private, light in room hard to sleep. Next time will bring mask.
- Kathryn (10/5): Excellent small B&B within in walking distance of museums, historical sites, and the sea. - The breakfast was wonderful. Creative and filling! Friendly staff (including the dogs!). Loved the comfortable and relaxing living room. Extra snacks and drinks were a bonus.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): - My husband and I felt very much at home in The Chadwick House. Erin is a charming and attentive hostess. We enjoyed visiting with their daughter and dogs, too. Delicious breakfasts every morning, and a different one every day. Cozy bedroom and nice private bath. Great location, charming and walkable.
- Margaret (8/5): - If you would like to be near Maine Medical Center, this is your place.
- Sinead (10/5): Exceptional - I had a fabulous stay - Erin made sure to get me all the self check-in details ahead of time so it was a smooth arrival. Located in a lovely part of town, about 20-30 minute walk to the old town. Lovely room/facilities and a scrumptious breakfast. Nothing, it was great
- Dennis (10/5): - Great getaway within Portland. The breakfast is first rate!
- Laura (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Excellent! Everything was great
- AMY (10/5): - The Chadwick is beautiful, centrally located. Owners are great!

It was beautifully maintained, awesome location and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The breakfast was delicious!!! Nothing! I wish I had another night there to explore Portland and eat another breakfast.
- John (10/5): - Great location for seeing Portland.
- Heather (10/5): - I had a beautiful stay at The Chadwick. I loved the beautiful breakfasts that were prepared each morning with so much love, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Everything was delicious. The room was charming and comfortable. This was a great location, within walking distance of the State Theater and lots of places to have dinner.
- Joe (10/5): Incredible anniversary getaway - Very kind and helpful staff. Got wonderful breakfast and great recommendations from the host. Will definitely be returning!
- Katieanne (10/5): Our stay was perfect, i would highly recommend staying here! - Erin, lily and the pups were so welcoming! The bed was amazing, the shower was glorious, the breakfast was 10/10... check in/out was super easy! I couldn't recommend this accommodation more! That we didnt stay for longer!
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay. The hosts were very friendly and inviting and we would love to go back.
- Roger (10/5): - wonderful staff
- Kathleen (7/5): Cozy spot with pleasant innkeeper but showing signs of wear and tear. - Close to downtown, nice sitting area, delicious breakfast. Could use a little more attention to detail in cleaning,eg rim under bathroom sink and area around doorknobs.
- Andi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Rebeccah (10/5): Walkable West End - Excellent location within the West End, walkable to Old Port, museums, restaurants, etc! We didn't move our car from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was delicious, nutritious, and just the right amount of food. The dogs were a fun bonus, that made the space feel like home (though of course, they weren't in the general guest area - just the kitchen).
- Carol (10/5): - My husband and I stayed at the Chadwick B&B for a weekend away. Erin, Zach and their daughter Lily are wonderful hosts, and the breakfasts that they prepared were delicious. The location of the Inn is very convenient to walking down town Portland. Our room was cozy and comfortable with a beautiful new bathroom. The atmosphere that they've created is very homey and friendly. We hope to return.
- Sheila (10/5): Perfect - Charming. The breakfast was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable. Very clean
- Cormier (10/5): Very comfortabe - Very nice innkeepers, love the greet from the dogs clean rooms . Had to take a bag lunch was great. Forgot to take all the bags that was there for us but that was ok. Overall very nice place. If I could of stayed longer to enjoy.
- Judith (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was wonderful! My room was cold.
- Pamela (10/5): Owners were immediately responsive to text questions - made great dining recommendations. - The breakfasts were a real treat - we liked the little appetizer before the main dish. Coffee was excellent. Portions were just right. Loved the beautiful huskies. Check-in was convenient and easy. It was very quiet - we felt like the only ones there. We had to ask for our beds to be made but the owners complied with our request.
- Lara (10/5): - There was good access to the city and bay. We were within walking distance of wonderful restaurants. The hosts were amazing, friendly, and accommodating.
- Jill (9/5): Beautiful old home with amazing gourmet breakfast - Quaint home with a wonderful staff. We were greeted by the resident husky dogs and loved it! Very clean, comfortable and amazing gourmet breakfast!!! All good.
- Swan (9/5): Superb -
- Erik (10/5): - Super friendly- can recommend this HIGHLY
- Nyen (9/5): Will come again - The host was very friendly. Breakfast was great. Room was nice. Bathroom was not ensuite.
- Yael (7/5): Nice try, but it is not enough. - The owner (Erin) was really nice and tried her best. Also the tours that we had planned to do were pretty close to the property, so we reached the meeting points by foot. Nice and quiet neighborhood. The pictures on the website were absolutely different from what we found in reality. The facilities are too old and the linen is of very poor quality and saw better days. The mattress was apparently of the same quality, so uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Erin prepared each day a single dish, whether you liked it or not. No options. There were no bread, butter, pastries, fresh veggies or other elementary items.
- Terry (10/5): - Staff was great
- Louise (10/5): - The Bed and Breakfast is great. The staff and services are amazing.
The location is great if you are driving. The B&B is not far from downtown or other areas.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - The owners were very friendly and down home. The breakfast was like eating in a French Bistro
- David (10/5): A wonderful experience- All the way! - Wonderful experience! The hosts treated you like dear friends. The accommodations were really super. Private, quiet room and lots of space. Parking was off street and dedicated. Breakfast was fantastic- Every morning! I would highly recommend the Chadwick and our hosts to all.
Sincerely,
David Koffs I would be hard pressed to find something we didn't like here.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Selcuk (10/5): - Nice place with friendly owners. Love the place.
- Diane (9/5): Superb - Excellent food, hospitality and happy dogs. Did not realize the private bathroom was not an onsuite.
