• Sally (10/5): Perfect overnight stay on the harbour - Everything was perfect. Located at the bus stop from Edinbugh, right on the harbour. Beautiful big room upstairs with a stunning view (Room 201) and a lovely shower. Nothing to complain about. One small thing... maybe would have liked the heating to come on - we are Aussies used to being warm!

There’s a large kitchen with everything you need to make meals and the bunk room was comfortable and clean.

• Melanie Kopp (10/5): - Wir hatten das Familienzimmer im Obergeschoss mit privatem Badezimmer auf dem Flur mit Meerblick - und dieser war der Wahnsinn! Zimmertüre auf - Urlaubsfeeling an! Unser zimmer war sauber und alles da, was man braucht. Gemeinschaftsküche war im EG, und auch sehr schön sauber und gut ausgestattet. Schöne kleine Ortschaft und tolles Hostel! Es war recht hellhörig, was bei einem so alten Gebäude normal ist. Uns hat es nicht gestört (wir waren aber auch die Familie mit Kind) 🫣

Beautiful place with a nice big shared kitchen, and a great view with window overlooking the sea. Lots of things to keep one occupied in the lounge if the weather happens to keep you in. Stairs to the room, but Darius was really nice to help with the luggage.

Beds a little narrow with my brother falling out of his. hot showers and quiet The decor is dated in the bedroom but view from the window was fantastic.

• Katrina joyce (9/5): Impeccable view and value for money. - It was a perfect location, sea view (with binoculars) , the bus stop is just right infront of the building, at the heart of the harbour so it's near to all shops and restos. Easy instructions for the check-in and beds were comfy. It's nice to have a communal area if you would like to cook and had some free coffee/tea as well. Given it's a hostel, though the toilet/bath are separated there was a designated for each room so you'll be sure you won't be sharing it with other guests. Highly recommended to book this stay.

Comfortable mattress Ear plugs provided Tea making facilities and great kitchen set up (shops closed at the end of a long, late walk, so grateful for them) Second bathroom facilities out of action. It didn't affect me but helpful if both were available.

• Mia (9/5): Comfortable and friendly - For a hostel in a small tow n it has everything you could want and more, it does work by a self check in system, but the email explains everything. Alan was very helpful and gave me advice on how to get around. You need to ask for towels and the lockers under the beds can be a squeeze, besides that, fantastic location and staff.

Très belle batisse ancienne, chambre spacieuse, très calme avec cependant vue sur le port. Literie de qualité, lit très confortable. Nous n'avons pas pris nos repas sur place mais il y a aussi une grande cuisine très agréable, et une salle commune agréable aussi. La salle de bains et les WC privatifs sont en fait dans le couloir, mais en pratique ce n'était pas très gênant.

Singular communal toilet was clean. Twin communal showers were clean but one had an inadequate door lock. Communal kitchen is excellent. No bedside light(s); no desk; no TV; single coat hanger on coats/umbrellas stand; no tumbler. Hot water tap in room wash hand basin took about 10 minutes to deliver warm/hot water. Communal showers took about 10 minutes to deliver warm/hot water. Bedroom decor is very dated.

• Sarah (10/5): Excellent budget option for Anstruther - You can't beat the location of this hostel in Anstruther. It's right at the bus stop and close to everything. Supermarket is a 5-10 minute walk away. The hostel is very well run and very clean. Bathrooms are great. Great showers! We never had to wait for a shower and there is a sink in the room as well. We usually stay in hotels, not hostels, but we had a private room and we were perfectly happy with Murray Library. We had a sea view room, but the position of the bed in relation to the window meant that we couldn't sit in bed and look out the window at the view.

If we‘d stayed longer and wanted to sleep in, that would have been hard depending on other guests staying in the room next door. But everything else was wonderful. A place worth checking out.

Shared facilities (Kitchen and lounge) are spacious clean and well maintained. Shared Toilets and showers are modern, clean and also well maintained. The dormitory room is clean, well maintained with a comfortable mattress. Large supermarket ( Morrisons) is within a relatively short walking distance as well as award winning ice cream, fish and chips :) N/A
• Sasha-lee (9/5): - What a lovely clean accommodation. We were slightly concerned about booking into a hostel, but we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. The rooms were clean and well maintained, our view was spectacular and the living spaces were kitted with everything one would need. I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area. - The host was so pleasant. - the rooms were clean - the views were amazing - the shared spaces were tidy - perfectly situated - most of all, it was quiet.

Darius the hostel manager was on hand to welcome us and provided great service by getting us into our room early. The room was excellent with a fantastic view of the sea.

We were also able to park our car around the corner and the hotel was very clean and easy to access even though there was no one there (at least we haven’t seen anyone) It’s a bit impersonal because there is no staff present (as far as I can tell). We received all instructions via Email / Message which is ok but also a bit unpredictable when travelling without mobile phone connection…
