• Carmelita (10/5): Great place - Everything! The house is in a quiet location uphill. It has beautiful gardens which you can see from the room's balcony. The view is so lovely and serene - good spot to relax after a long day The room is spacious and very clean; bed is comfortable and the little kitchen corner has your basic needs. Mike is such a gracious host and very attentive to oir needs. Gave us lots of infomation about the area, suggestions on where to eat, places we can visit and lots of useful tips and insights for our travel. Thanks heaps, Mike. I didn't like that we only stayed for two nights - we could have stayed a bit longer.😒

La chambre est impeccable et le service parfait. Petit déjeuner excellent avec préparation à la demande. Mike se transforme en chef! Excellents conseils pour les visites aux alentours, Mike connaît bien les attraits du lieu. Partir, ce lieu donne envie de rester indéfiniment.

The host was welcoming and excellent with a lot of information about attractions in the area. The breakfast was great, well cooked and presented by the host. It’s a bit away from the town although it wasn’t inconvenient.

Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. and we had everything we could possibly want...including a spa in our little patio area. The location is perfect for a stay in The Bay of Islands. Nothing to dislike.

I stayed on the upper level so i was lucky to wake up to the view each morning. The room was immaculate. Mike keeps the place spotless. His place is a short drive away from the main town. He provides you with everything you need. I'm not sure I was aware that I would be staying in someone's home. This might have been my oversight.

His breakfasts were very nice including eggs cooked to order and press coffee. Our room was serviced daily which is above our expectations but much appreciated.

• Melissa (10/5): Perfection ! - What a find! So glad we booked 5 nights in the largest suite at Mike’s place . From the first communication I shared with Mike I knew he took pride in providing a great experience, having an intimate knowledge of the area. Breakfasts were yummy and filling and he took a genuine interest in his visitors and their plans . Our privacy was maintained at all times but we knew he was there if we needed any help . We were very appreciative that he went out of his way to help us out with transport as we had arrived by bus . The room inclusions had been well thought out and the ever changing view from our lounge area was so special as was our personal outdoor spa that was immaculately clean . Nothing , but it is a 50 minute undulating but safe footpath walk into Paihia if you don’t have a car . Mike helped us out by collecting and returning us and our luggage to the bus stop and kindly collected us on one or two other occasions . It is only a $20 taxi fare if you don’t want to walk after a busy day . However the serenity of the location and the kindness and friendliness of our host certainly compensated for this minor inconvenience.

Die kurze Fahrt in den Ort dauert 5 Minuten und ist lohnenswert, da es in Paihia schon etwas trubelig sein kann. Nichts. Alles war bestens

• Peter (10/5): Schöne Ferienwohnung mit tollem Ausblick - An dieser Unterkunft stimmt so ziemlich alles. Es handelt sich um eine abgeschlossene gemütliche Ferienwohnung mit eigenem Zugang, eigener Terrasse und eigenem Whirlpool. Es gibt zwar keine Küche, aber das war vorher auf den Fotos zu erkennen. Der Gastgeber Mike ist äußerst freundlich, sehr umsichtig und beflissen, hielt jede Menge guter Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants parat, und bereitete das sehr gute Frühstück frisch in seiner eigenen Küche zu. Die Unterkunft liegt außerhalb von Paihia, punktet aber mit einem tollen Ausblick über die Bucht und einer sehr ruhigen Lage. Insgesamt also: Eine glatte Empfehlung! Nichts zu bemängeln.

The views were absolutely stunning. We booked it for a romantic getaway and ended up spending most of our time right at the BnB soaking in the private hot tub. It felt like our own little slice of paradise. Communication was seamless and friendly from start to finish—warm, professional, and helpful. It was also incredibly easy to get anywhere from the location, but honestly, we were so happy just being there that we didn’t venture far. This place is a gem. Can’t recommend it enough—we’ll absolutely be back! 💛

Basic kithenette, microwave, kettle etc. Honestly can not fault. We will highly recommend. Did not dislike anything, But to note: Not wheelchair friendly. Not parked by room, so it's a walk trekking luggage. Smokers need to go to the front of the property. (Our issue,.. not Mikes). But vapers ok to puff out the back by rooms.

• Nadine (10/5): Traumhafter Ausblick und ein wunderbarer B&B Host - Wir warn 5 Tage im Baywaterviews Bed & Breakfast. Wir haben extra unsere Reise etwas umgeplant, sodass wir länger bleiben konnten. Das lag zum einen an dem wundervollen Ort, der fantastischen Aussicht, vor allem aber auch an dieser Unterkunft und ihrem grandiosen Gastgeber. Mike ist ein großartiger Host, sein Frühstück ein Traum und seine Tipps Gold wert. Seine Hilfsbereitschaft geht weit über das hinaus, was man von einem B&B Host erwarten würde. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir empfehlen eines der Zimmer mit Whirlpool zu buchen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist außerdem das sehr bequeme und große Bett. Schade, dass wir am anderen Ende der Welt leben und nicht so einfach wiederkommen können.

What impressed us most was how clean and well-maintained everything was, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and we were able to enjoy it in a relaxed atmosphere. Our whole family was very satisfied with our stay!

Breakfast was delicious! If I had to pick something- bed was a bit too firm and water pressure could have been a bit better. But very minor things in comparison to all the fabulous things!

• Ruth (10/5): A superb spot and a real pleasure to stay here. - Amazing views of the bay, the whole property was neat and extremely well kept. Facilities were clean and well presented. The breakfasts were superb. The host was very generous with his sharing of what there was to see and do in the area, with a detailed map and links to websites. It was quiet and private, yet only a five minute drive away from the township. We really enjoyed our stay here. Be aware that the property is on a slope do you will have to negotiate some steps. Not too difficult though.

Also a nice location with no discernible traffic noise just a short distance away from Paihia. Mike was a brilliant and personable host and we enjoyed our conversations whilst he served our breakfast. He also helped us from his local knowledge to plan great days out. Would 100% recommend
• Anne (10/5): Exceptional - The room was spacious, very comfortable with a beautiful view of the bay and river. Mike, our host, was super hospitable, friendly and full of helpful information. Breakfast was outstanding and very generous, including a full cooked breakfast. The location is very close to important sites, the bay and restaurants etc Absolutely nothing.
• Pourewa (10/5): Puru and Pourewa Paikea - Excellent host, he was absolutely amazing, we totally enjoyed our time at Baywaterviews because of our host, he made sure that we had everything we needed, he even helped us with our luggage, and made sure my husband (who is partially disabled due to having had a stroke), was comfortable, he provided special treatment for my husband ensuring accessibility was easier for him. Our host cooked us delicious breakfasts.The property/unit was so very clean, with excellent furnishings and presentation. Thank you so much to our host and his cute dog.
• Moya (10/5): This ticked all our boxes for a relaxing time in Bay of Islands - The accommodation and facilities were exactly as described. Comfortable and spacious room, wonderful view. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very tasty. Mike provided details with map about location and access to local attractions, suggestions for day trips, cost of ferries to Russell. He is a great host. We enjoyed great conversations with him. all good

• Sophie (10/5): A beautiful retreat in the Bay of Islands! - Mike was an outstanding host - welcoming, generous with his time, and full of excellent recommendations for exploring the Bay of Islands. He ensured our stay was comfortable by keeping our room spotless clean and serving a lovely breakfast each morning. The balcony view was a highlight of our stay. Highly recommend! The accommodation is just a five-minute drive from town, making it very convenient if you have a car. Without one, it's a hilly 45-minute walk to the centre of Paihia. That said, Mike generously offered to drive us into town whenever we needed, which was greatly appreciated.
• Nick (10/5): Relaxing and care free! - The view was amazing! Hot tub spotless also the room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious! Will 100% be back.

Mike gave extremely helpful information an - The bathroom (exceptionally clean) and living space were very clean and comfortable. Mike is a perfectionist and does a great job, particularly with his beautiful breakfast presentation.

• Martinmv (10/5): Amazing stay with a hot tub - Despite the bad weather, we enjoyed our stay here. Mike was a great host and helped us with possible things to do. The private hot tub in the evening was perfect to end the day. Mike also prepared a fresh breakfast for us every morning. The place is just a few minutes by car from shopping/restaurants/beach and amazing nature (and waterfalls).
• Hollie (9/5): Great for a little get away. - Mike was great. Really attentive and very friendly. Told me about all the places I should visit in the area and how best to get there. I was in the upstairs apartment which had an amazing view. It’s lovely and quiet here but not too far from the hustle of Paihia which is about a 4km walk/drive away. I walked in and out every time I went into town.

We had a very short time here and had to leave earlier than planned, but it made our brief stopover in NZ absolutely worth it. Would love to spend more time here in the future.
