- Jennifer (8/5): - This was a great hotel - great service, fabulous location, nicely appointed rooms, and a great feel of old and new. Spectacular view. The only challenging part was the parking. There really isn't a space to temporarily park to unload your vehicle and parking is about a 3-4 minute walk. The staff were very helpful to watch our vehicle though cameras while we unloaded and then watched our bags while we navigated to a local parking garage. I would recommend Pipadouro to others.

No instructions as how to operate TV, A/C, etc. Need handrail on stairs! Need proper night stands by bed! Why would you feature a “garden” and not cut the grass?

- Amy (10/5): - The apartment was beautiful and clean. A little construction outside but they are redoing the street but made lots of progress in the 3 nights we were there. A uphill walk from our Uber as he could not drive through the residential area due to construction but it was doable. We found with google maps but make sure if you are going to #21 or #25. We accidentally went in main building but team quickly responded via WhatsApp to get us to the right door. I definitely recommend having that app and a local eSIM for travel as even other hotel and tour vendors reached out through that. I’d make sure to message ahead of time so they know when to expect you. They had a nice port wine complimentary in our room. They provided a map and a great walk through of local places to go. We loved the Muralhas recommendation. Most beautiful tasty pastries! It was an easy walk downhill to Sao Bento station to leave. There is a popular lookout point right near the hotel many walking tours go by. It’s super close to the Clerigos tower, University and Livaria Lello. We really liked the place called Base for outdoor drinks on the rooftop. We found it to be a great area. There was mini fridge and AC you had to find remote and turn on. The one building has elevator and the other we were in didn’t have too many steps to our door about a flight. The pool and bar were nice for tired legs and feet. The view was gorgeous. There was great live music on Rua de Flores at night. We really enjoyed our stay!

Before arriving we were given a list of recommendations for the city which was fantastic as it was the first time we’d visited. On check in, we were given a map with more help from the reception team with some more recommendations which was greatly appreciated. - Lauren (10/5): - This was the way to go! An apartment with a kitchen (for easy breakfasts) that’s walkable to most everything. And it’s hard to get lost since you can always go towards the Clergio tower which is basically in its backyard. The front desk person was the nicest and most helpful staff member ever-gave lots of recs! The pool was small but cute and just be prepared for lots of stairs. A great stay !

It was very close to the main attractions of the city, most were within walking distance. Porto itself is beautiful but has very steep hills. The bar and small pool area was lovely (the pool itself was cold but actually lovely to cool down in on a hot day) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lying by the pool having beer and cocktails brought to you was superb. I'd recommend asking for the bar tender's sangria cocktail. We felt very looked after. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Very nice renovations - modern, spacious. Our mezzanine unit, Heating equipment installed on the ceiling sensing air temp there; lower level cold for me - had to double up the duvet. Italian style coffee maker has to be watched and stopped - it's not automatic stop. Rainy season; towels stayed damp after 24hrs - we hang them on upper level railing...

- Connie (8/5): Loved the location, cute apartment! - Loved where it was located. Very funky, roomy and cute apartment. Had a fabulous courtyard and large kitchen. The bed was very hard, we understand it was new...however they did send us a thin feather bed. We actually used the mattress from the sofa bed and it worked like a charm. There was a leak above the fridge and microwave that they could not figure out. It was constant and made the floor wet, they could have done more to keep it at bay such as provide bigger buckets but they did listen to our complaint regarding it. The people at the front desk were very good. Besides that we loved it! Would recommend...
- Lauren (10/5): 10/10 immaculate apartment with stunning views - I can’t recommend this apartment enough. The views were stunning, apartment was spotless and reception staff were so friendly and helpful, offering local recommendations which were spot on. The apartment itself was a great size, perfectly clean and nice and quiet at night with views for miles over the river. You have a full kitchen and good sized fridge and ice box freezer should you want to cook, plus all crockery and utensils etc. I didn’t use the bar or pool as I couldn’t tear myself away from the balcony views for long enough, but saw the pool being frequently cleaned and there seemed to be plenty of sun loungers and seating. You get daily housekeeping which is a nice touch for an apartment too. There’s also a lookout point around the corner that gives you a slight different angle on the same views which is wonderful too. Just a few minutes walk (down some cobbled steps!) and you’re in the heart of the historic centre too. I am already planning my next trip and will be staying here again!
- Meghan (8/5): - Pipadouro was a great landing pad for our trip to Porto. We stayed for 4 nights in the garden view room and were pleased with the cleanliness, awesome water pressure in the shower, and super accommodating staff. Concierge gave us a thoughtful tour of the property, arranged our 2:30am transportation to the airport, and even annotated a map with all of the best views/restaurants/historical landmarks/shopping/grocery/etc. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the beds. We found them to be really firm and somewhat uncomfortable. However, the stay overall was really pleasant and the pool was a great amenity after a long day of exploring the city.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay at the apartments. The pool has a fantastic view of the city and there's a bar to serve drinks to enjoy from the sunlounger. The apartments are very central and easy walking distance to key attractions and plenty of bars and restaurants. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - we arrived late evening and they sent us video instructions of how to access the apartments and were on hand for any issues. They provided great recommendations for Porto and were super friendly. Breakfast wasn't served in the restaurant (owing to the COVID-19 situation) but we ordered and it was delivered in a hamper in the morning; really delicious. Drinks and food reasonably priced. We had the street level, garden view apartment so also had fantastic views of the city and pool. The apartment was spacious and all very clean. Shower powerful and the bed was comfy. We also made use of the double sofa-bed. The only slight negative was the noise from the apartment above but can't be helped!

True apartments with a small kitchen/dining space and studio style sleeping/living area. Check in was easy and the front desk was very helpful (Emmanuel was great with recommendations). Many things within walking distance. Huge towels and comfortable bedding in the unit. Make sure to turn the temperature on the water heater up and wait some time before showering so the hot water lasts longer-careful the water temp is very hot! Make sure to give the friendly black cat a pet hello if you see her when walking in the area.

From the time we arrived until we left Andreia kindly assisted us with making dinner reservations each evening and all of her suggestions were wonderful and we had true authentic Portuguese food. Andreia was truly a pleasure to work with and incredibly friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and their staff!

- Kian (4/5): Disappointed - While initially very happy with the space, view and cleanliness we had brown water coming out of the main shower, upstairs bathroom, both sinks and kitchen. No warm water in the second shower during our whole three day stay. Once contacted the host we had a very non empathetic answer. The answer was that the building is in an old neighborhood whenever there is construction this happens. However, they didn’t offer a solution. We had to endure the brown water that day. Overall very disappointing.
- Stephanie (10/5): Amazing hotel! Would stay here again. - This hotel was amazing!! Everything was perfect about it. We arrived really early in the morning as we came from Canada on an overnight flight and the cleaning woman let us in early and gave us pastries and espressos until the concierge arrived when the office opened so we could leave our bags(the property had emailed ahead of time to let me know they open at 9). The room was great, clean with an amazing river view and the port wine in the room was a great touch! The bed was really comfortable. everything around is a short walk we would definitely stay here again.

They both had stairs to access the flats, garden had fewer. Was pleasantly surprised when the rooms were replenished after a couple of days. Reception staff were lovely: booked transports and restaurants as we needed. Definitely going to stay again!

They checked in on me throughout my journey (I took a train from Lisbon)... then had wine waiting for me in my room!!! TALK ABOUT SERVICE!!! Luís is a doll. He met me at the door. He gave me all of the right sightseeing spots to hit and restaurant recommendations. These folks remind me of my home, New Orleans. Caring, nice, accommodating and truly hospitable. I’ve been telling EVERYONE I know about Douro Apartments. I was stunned with the view! And I was worried because the price was so incredible. It it right near everything. You have to walk and walk up and down hills, but that was the adventure. Douro made my experience in Porto truly incredible. If I had to add constructive criticism... I would say add slip guards to the shower floor and provide face towels. That’s it.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property would be perfect for someone staying longer than we did, we were in Porto for only three days, a hotel room is more suitable for us, our fault. This apartment had a kitchen that could have been use by someone staying more than a week, otherwise everything else is beautiful. It's an old building but the inside has been modernly upgraded and currently equipped with wi-fi. We could have stayed a little longer but our schedule did not permit it, The place is located in a quiet neighborhood close to everything meaning walking distance to almost the nicest places to see in Porto specially the river front.

Great restaurants nearby and sightseeing is close, too. Great beds and comfortable furnishings. Super nice bathrooms. Good climate control (heating/cooling.) Not a good rental if you have mobility issues but worth it if you don't, even if you hate stairs, which I do. Worth it. Penthouse apartments in the building ours was in are three flights of 18 stairs each (modern, shorter, brand-new wooden steps though). Other apartments are available on lower floors. One cool bonus in our rental that was unique was the built-in radio that I discovered on the second day - speakers in the ceiling. Really nice touch. Also a dishwasher which was unexpected. The hosts left a bottle of port as a welcome gift, too. The employee who welcomed us was really nice, and he carried my bag upstairs for which I'm ever grateful. Price was fantastic. Don't hesitate to stay here when visiting beautiful Porto.

Staff were very helpful, the apartment was very clean, spacious and we enjoyed the great view from the Riverview unit. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted - being Porto some of it was quite steep. We would very happily return!
- Simon (10/5): Great apartments - We had a great 3 night stay at the Douro apartments. In a quiet street, but a short walk from most major sights, and plenty of bars and restaurants. Apartments are clean, have amazing views, well-equipped kitchen and good bathrooms. Only minor quibble is that there was only a hanging rail and 1 shelf for clothes.

- Richard (4/5): Rooms in good shape. Lying front desk. - Staff untrustworthy! Lied about non-smoking room that reeked of ashtrays. They claimed it was their air-freshener. The local parking garage does cheap daily rates, but staff told us you get those rates when you pay. NOT TRUE! You must obtain them when you first arrive. Otherwise 32 Euros per night!

The apartment was well located, within walking distance of many of Porto’s main attractions and there were various shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Staff were always friendly and helpful and the welcome gift of port was a nice touch.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Sharp contrast of building and internal design - It's in the old town. As it is fully refurbished to modern standards, we found it comfortable to stay in. I had the 2nd floor apartment facing Douro river, a very open and enjoyable view indeed.

- Mario (10/5): Beautiful apartment and super staff! - We visited Spain and Portugal for a total of 6 weeks this past Spring/Summer, 2018 with a total of 8 different accommodations. The Duoro apartments in Porto was by far the best of all the places we stayed at. We were in the 1 bedroom, garden view. Very spacious apartment with all the comforts of home, good equipped kitchen, living area with a big TV and separate bedroom that had these wonderful sliders making the room dark for sleeping in!. Very nice decor, setup and good location. . Although we were not as close to the Riberia district, it was still walk able and this location was very close to several landmarks. We did not need to take public transportation other than the hop on hop off to see the various areas of Porto. Another big bonus was the staff!. Very friendly and supportive to our needs (ice, making copies of doc's, restaurant or activity recommendations and extra Port!). My wife unknowingly dropped a gold necklace behind the bed, we checkout out and moved on to our next stop. This wonderful staff sent us an email to notify us and took it one step further and mailed it to us when we got back to California. We felt totally taken care of by this staff and we can't say enough about the apartment. We will be back again and next time it will be longer than the 5 days we spent there!. Thank you Douro Staff, you are the best!

Within walking distance to all the main attractions... the staff was very helpful and friendly and English speaking. The apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious and a perfect retreat for the end of the day. The AC was a real treat especially on a hot and humid day. They arranged for airport pick up which was fast and easy. The driver was super nice and friendly and provided great city insights and recommendations. Safe area. Be prepared to climb stairs to your room.

Sofia was very friendly and even helped me get my luggage up the stairs since there are no lifts. The studio was very clean and modern. Also has aircon which is awesome in the summer heat.
