• nosthrillz (9/5): Needed a budget friendly stay for a night - Breakfast was actually quite good! And i didn't pay attention, I hadn't realized there's breakfast included! Awesome! Rooms were clean, and otherwise a quiet place, provided that other people there are also mannered enough to not loudly shut the doors A bit sad that I didn't know ahead of time I need a coin to use the locker. Ended up sleeping with my bag. Also a bit sad that I had to go to the property to check in, and then leave immediately. Because the online check-in doesn't work fully autonomously, you have to pay at checkin anyway. Had i been able to check in online, all would have been well

• Arroyo Aquino (8/5): I liked the stay, the reception, and the breakfast. - I liked the breakfast and the atmosphere. I didn't like that the path is very steep to climb if you have a lot of luggage, but I have no comment on the establishment's part.

• Houda (5/5): Un séjour passable, hostel n'est pas accessible et froid... - Parfait, diversifié et bon la chambre était froide, a réparer et puis le personnel n'était pas a l'écoute vu que j'ai réclamé la panne mais elle n'a pas trouvé une solution et quand j'ai donné mon avis pour améliorer le service, elle m'a ignoré.

• Jessica (9/5): - Feels like staying in a school. Spacious location with many common rooms which is nice and not always found in other hostels. Clean, comfortable beds. Very nice staff and great breakfast. Having toiletries for the shower (shampoo, soap) would be really helpful!

Für Wanderausflüge top Lage. Das Haus machte insgesamt einen guten Eindruck. Die Gemeinschaftsdusche/ das Gemeinschafts-WC war relativ sauber. Die Karte für den ÖPNV. Eine zusätzliche Ablage im Zimmer wäre toll gewesen. Gäste, die sich nicht an das Rauchverbot in den Zimmern gehalten haben. Dass die eigenen Handtücher mitgebracht werden mussten.

• Day (4/5): Extras y sin ducha - Las camas fueron cómodas y buen desayuno, el lugar estaba limpio. Nos dieron una habitación en el primer piso, y cuando entramos ya estaba ocupada. Cuando nos cambiaron al piso de abajo no nos aclararon q en ese piso no cuentan con duchas por lo q no pudimos bañarnos. Además al llegar nos cobraron 54CFH. Siendo que ya habíamos pagado la totalidad de la reserva y solo faltaba pagar 10FCH del parking y 4FCH del puesto turístico. En total nos salio bastante caro por no tener duchas, por la misma plata podíamos pagar otro lugar más completo.

• Jandrić (8/5): Clean, simple and pretty good all around. - The staff were great: friendly, welcoming, accommodating. Many thanks! The location is a bit uphill, a half-hourish (a tad less) walk from the city centre. Wifi was not that great on the second floor where my room was located, on the first and ground floor it was great. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I even got the free public transport ticket from the hostel for time I was there. As I said, the wifi was pretty poor on the second floor. The lockers were usable only by inserting a 2 frank coin - which I didn't expect, and didn't bring any cash with me. The location is not ideal - it is a pretty steep uphill walk when coming from certain directions. Otherwise, there is a tram station nearby, which was really helpful.

Use o bonde número S21 (estação St. Gallen Birnbäumen) para chegar. Quase em frente desta estação fica o hostel. Com o mesmo bonde, no sentido oposto, vc consegue ir pra Appenzell.

• Matt (10/5): - Really good hostel, stayed with my family although a little pricey….perhaps because of the euros football match. A little out of town but great views and accessed via tram or bus. These were free which was great but again I guess because of the football. Accommodation was refurbished and modern and breakfast really good.

• Boris (5/5): Passable - Spacious and with a lovely garden, close to the tram stop. Rooms are very basic, simple stuff like a socket for your phone charging at night isn't provided. Price is too high for what you receive.
• Nurul (9/5): Very good stay at St Gallen (near to many good restaurants) - Everything is good and clean. This place met my expectations. For muslims, I would recommend having lunch or dinner at Sahara Restaurant, just 10 min walk from this place. It's a really great experience at St Gallen Only the location. I needed to walk around 15 min from the train station and the journey was quite tiring with all my travel stuff. There is an uphill road going to this place and it's quite a great workout. I didn't say I disliked it. But it's recommended to go by taxi or any other option if you carry lots of things

• Wei-ling (10/5): I really enjoy the time spending in this hostel! - The variety of brenkfast is limited but enough! Hopefully there will be warm food available in the future. Room and bathrooms are all very clean and well-maintained. The staff are so warm. You can enjoy the view of St. Gallen when having breakfast. Kitchen also looks very clean. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk to Drei Weihern, a relaxing place in the town where you can enjoy the view and see the 3 lakes. Although I booked a bed in 6-person room, in the first night I was the only customer and in the second night I shared room with 1 girl. So it was an extremely fantastic experience. The location of hostel is not very convenient but still okay because public transportation in Switzerland is always reliable.
• Mariah (10/5): Home away from home - Absolutely warmest welcome I've ever received in a hostel. Receptionists/ managers really went out of their way to take care of their guests. Breakfast was delicious. Tea is available all day. The place is spotless and so clean. I stayed for a week and it felt like home. It's an older building so not a lot of plugs. But they are aware and offer assistance to their guests.

Location is a bit far from the train station and old town so need to take a tram. A bit of a hill between the train station and the hostel.
• Emma (8/5): a very lovely homely welcoming place to stay - Spacious and quiet surroundings very close to the train station and very helpful and welcoming host. Generous breakfast in the morning is included. beds are very comfortable and clean and new bedding. shower area kept very clean. Nothing to dislike only a niggle if wish to sit outside the lights are in a timer so a little frustration. i also notice the check in is after 5pm (that didn’t affect me).

• Stefanpeeters0293 (9/5): Excellent, for anybody - People at the reception were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean and the breakfast was very good. From the city center it's a 10-15 min walk uphill, so it offers a great view on Sankt Gallen. Highly recommended. I had some trouble connecting to the WiFi, but it was not a big deal for me.
• Kristóf (7/5): It was okay - The staff was nice and helpful. The hostel has a great view of the city and has a nice garden. The facilities were in good condition. The reception is closed between 10-17, which was annoying. The room smelled like a swimming pool. There was only one small fridge for the entire hostel. Access by car is difficult, parking is only possible quite far away.

• Nathan (8/5): Very good - Great staff. Breakfast was more than adequate. Beautiful setting with easy access to street cars to downtown snd beautiful scenic views of Sankt Gallen and the Bodensee. The playroom for children was a bonus too The bed was not the most comfortable and my roommates snored most of the night. Those are common drawbacks of hostels generally.

• Jar3kc (2/5): Disastrous experience - Access to a microwave and kettle in the canteen. Although the staff was friendly they messed up my booking. The hostel was busy but not completely full. However someone decided to assign me to a room of a cook who lives and works at the hostel instead of a bed in a regular room (there were many families with kids but it shouldn't matter as everyone is an equal customer). The room I got was on the sub-basement floor and not refurbished so not as nice as in photos: small windows that couldn't be open, squeaky, hard to open WC & shower rooms that are a nightmare to use at night. The cook, a nice guy, was a smoker so the room smelled of cigarettes and it was very stuffy. There was only one plug at one end of the room so the extension lead ran across the room to power his gear. There was another person in the same situation as me and equally disappointed. It was unfair on us and as well as the cook to be in the same room especially as the cook had to wake up at 5:30 am to start work. That caused a bit of conflict when the other guy came back from the town at 2 am. Ridiculous situation that could be avoided as there were empty beds in rooms taken by the families. It was a very uncomfortable stay in a dingy, run down room. I saw the other rooms that are advertised and they look pleasant and fresh. Make sure you get a regular room. The value for money is not that great as the hostel is quite far out from the city centre and there are only 2 trains per hour and none late at night so a long uphill walk awaits you after staying out late.
• Karl (10/5): best option to stay in St Gallen - the location is great (near the town center, old town, cathedral and 3 lakes), also Ariana (receptionist) was so kind, helpful and very hospitable. love the breakfast buffet. they also give free public transport tickets.
