Guest Reviews
- Al (10/5): - Fantastic!
- Daniel (2/5): - Gross. Cockroaches. Stained bedding. No security whatsoever
- Janice (2/5): - Smelled bad and sheets were dirty. Person next to us played loud music until 2;00 am.
- Jean (4/5): - The girl was more than accomplished! The rooms definitely need a total makeover! We had to switch rooms because the tv sucked, but like I said the girl went above & beyond & got us another room! But seriously over $100 a night should be upgraded! Definitely seen a dead roach in first room!
- Noelle (10/5): Kitchy Old School Hotel Stay - Stayed here for Mizzou homecoming weekend. It was a great price. Staff was kind and attentive. Close to a truck stop diner which was convenient. Worth the 15 min Ubers to Mizzou campus to pay a reasonable price.
- mindy (2/5): - dirty, barking dogs, random people walking around very unsafe feeling. Paid for 2 nights and only stayed 1
- Callie (8/5): - Our stay was ok. The room was clean and staff was friendly.
- Vanessa (10/5): - The room is very old and outdated. I was not the cleanest either.
- Jeneane (10/5): - The front desk was exceptionally friendly & helpful!
- Martin (2/5): - Didn’t feel safe here
- Deeanna (2/5): Don’t go here - Horrible
Dirty
Roaches
Bedbugs
Prostitutes
- Dina (4/5): - The walls are very thin, the AC is a window unit that is very loud. Was very hard to sleep.
- Robert (2/5): If this is hell, i will go to church more. - When we arrived at the hotel , I walked in and was greeted by a very nice receptionist. I thought all would be well. Yeah I was wrong. When I received the room key which was an actual key , I was a little concerned. I was told that my room was around the back side of the hotel and go up the stairs. When I went to the park the car there were two ladies that walked out to where the dumpsters were and literally hopped in the dumpsters. I make my way up.
To the second floor to where my room is according to mikey and I opened the door and the first thing I smell is marijuana. Even though all the signs are over the hotel clearly state no smoking. As we walked down the hall next to my room was a broken soda machine and by broken I mean shattered. Once I get all my stuff inside the room.I went to walk next door to the gas station to pick up a water.Walking through the area next to the hotel was a bar which Hey, that's but I was accosted by a lot lizard.Who said for $20?I could have some fun. I then walked to the gas station and no words describe what was there. The windows to the hotel room where even worse. It looks like it had not been washed.
In several weeks.
- Steven (6/5): - Needs snack machines and less creepy people hanging around all night.
- Joe (4/5): - Dated and dirty area. Hallways smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Ice machine in hallway did not work and no mini fridge in room. The room was clean and okay but the area was rough and unwelcoming.
- kattie (6/5): - Staff was friendly, convenient area right off the highway
- James (2/5): - This was the worst Burr....
Smell, dirty, loud with people and animals all night, roaches, just overall the worst dive hotel i have had to stay at a long time.... like ever.
- DENNIS (10/5): - Very friendly staff convenient lovationy
- KristyAnn (2/5): - Do not recommend the hotel; fortunately our booking agency was helpful in resolving the problem!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Budget facility so didn't expect the Taj Mahal. Felt safe.
Clean. Check in easy.
- James (6/5): - BARS OF SOAP WERE TO SMALL
- doug (6/5): - It's a cheap flop pad for a couple winks, staff are nice/helpful. Doors are keyed locks and deadbolt, there is a roach problem unfortunately.
- Todd (6/5): - Room was quite old and needs an updating…plus needs a deep cleaning.
- Jason (10/5): - Property on the outside and interior halls were in disrepair. Inside room was clean and nice
- Jeremy (6/5): Beter than we expected - We were a little reserved to stay here, but we were pleasantly surprised when we go tthere. We were doing a local event and there is no place else as close. We pulled the trigger. Once we were in our room it wasn't bad. Freshly remodeled, newer matress, clean sheets and such. Fresh paint too! Not too bad for the price for sure
- Dayton (2/5): - Whole building smelled like weed- for non-smoking room this was nasty. The whole place smelled like weed. Run down, dirty, dont think they even tried to clean my room. Aged, basic maintenance hasn't occurred in years, old and nasty. Avoid this one for sure.
- Craig (10/5): - You get what you pay for
- Paul (4/5): - When we arrived, they couldn't find the key to our room, so ended up switching our room at the last minute, and we asked for extra pillows, they only brought us one. The whole hallway smelled like marijuana and we found roaches on the sink in the morning. ew!
- Derek (4/5): - Hallway smelled of pot. Rooms and property appear to need updating or just some TLC.
- Pam (2/5): - We did not stay. Too dirty, smelled. Old and needs bull dozed in. Staff scetchy. Do not stay here sleep in your car.
- Carla (8/5): - This is an older property. When we drove in, there was an older what appeared to be homeless couple eating with all their stuff laying in the shrubs and rocks. The rooms had no amenities at all. It was clean and did not smell of cigarettes but the hallways did smell of cigarettes.
- Laura (4/5): - Super nice young man at the front desk . The hotel smell was awful . Rooms were ok for the price . Location was not bad , the odor was horrible .
- Eric (8/5): - Great value for the cost. I would stay again.
- Edwin (8/5): - We needed a place to lay our heads for a few night hours, a shower in the AM. It was fine for that.
- steve (2/5): - I would not recommend this motel. It is so outdated and not clean at all.
- Mary Linda (8/5): - Good for the cost. Nice cooling & heating.
Super hot water & suppy @ sink & shower!
- Matthew (10/5): - The midway diner is great. The property was out of town, but peaceful, clean and safe. Will come back!
- Edward (2/5): - Room had bedbugs, carpets were filthy, sheets we dirty and had hairs from prior occupants, comforter was soiled, tub was disgusting and it would not drain as you took a shower.
Managment moved me to newly remodeled room in lower building that was much better.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Barf - Place is beyond a dump. I'm not sure crackheads should even stay there. Girl at the counter was nice, for what that's worth.
- Hamid (2/5): - I don’t like it
- Brenda (8/5): Location, location, location - It is nicely located right off the highway and just the other side of the parking lot there is a quaint little spot to get a good meal.
- Marie (4/5): - Outdated ran down and smelled horrible also had roaches will never stay here again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for night of sleep - It was just an overnight stay. Just a plain motel. Good for a place to sleep!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Surprisingly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didnt have problems with any of the other occupants. Absolutely 0 bugs.
My room did smell a bit of smoke, but that also cleared out fairly quickly when we turned the ac on. Great for a cheap one night stay.
- Rodney (8/5): - Live the timing didn't like anything ejes
- rick (8/5): - Affordable
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay somewhere else. Anywhere else. - We ended up not staying here as there were two Sheriff’s police cars arresting someone as we pulled in around 6:00 pm. We knew from other reviews there were long-term guests staying here and the police incident combined with the run down appearance of the property and number of people who were clearly living there just watching the scene play out sealed our decision to abandon our booking. The manager was kind enough to not charge us for the stay, so I give credit for that.
- Brent (8/5): Columbia quick stay. - First impressions were less than desirable but not unexpected for a budget motel. It met all of the essentials however, clean, comfortable, and quiet.
- Michael (8/5): It’s Budget Inn - Nothing fancy about this place. Shower was good, and the bed was comfortable.
- William (8/5): - It wasn't bad, they just have regular keys and the carpet was old.
I felt like we should have been told that people live there as well
- Anthony (6/5): Uncomfortable and Cold - We were exhasted when we arrived. The room heater was either not working or not big enough for the room. Too tired to do anything about it. Just bundled up and dealt with it. Felt like we were camping. Room needed maintenance but seemed clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Midway Budget Inn is just that, a budget inn. It's not flashy, it's not a 5-star resort! It's an economical place to stay. The staff has always been friendly. My room has always been clean. I will stay here again.
- Lisa (4/5): - The property is very run down and not the cleanest place for how much it cost. The room did have a new shower and sink in it which was nice.
- Meredith (10/5): Nice place accommodating people, and clean - Most pleasant people, helpful and knowledgeable, clean environment, easy access to interstate, reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Privacy. Close access to the highway. For a low cost motel,...it has a pool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For 50 bucks a night what do you want? A place to sleep, shower and leave that's just what I got.
- Sheryl (10/5): Best night sleep! - It was the best night sleep I have had in a long. We have young babies and to many sleepless nights. Thank god for the nanny.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I liked being out from in town . I didn’t like that I reserved a room smoking and I didn’t get it and I felt I wasn’t popularly taken care of.
- Tanya (6/5): Dont stay here - The rooms were horrible. The lady at the front desk was rude as I sat waiting on my ride. After about 20mins of still waiting she turned and told me I hadda leave I couldn't sit in the lobby any longer. I was waiting on a ride. I wouldn't suggest this place to my worse enemy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good place for the price. A place to rest while you travel. Resturant next door had good food.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Accommodations were okay but minimal. Would have enjoyed having a coffee machine. The hotel itself was visually neat from the exterior, but the surrounding area looked pretty sleazy. Had I driven in without a reservation, I would not have stayed.
- Jammie (4/5): - Worried about bed bugs
- Stefanie (8/5): You get what you pay for... - PROS:
1. The mattress was extremely comfortable.
2. Clean towels.
3. Friendly staff.
4. Cheap price.
5. Restaurant next door with good food.
CONS:
1. Funky smell left behind by the cleaning chemicals used daily.
2. Lumpy pillows.
3. Trash not swept up off the floor before arrival.
4. "VERY CREEPY" people wandering outside or through the halls. Gives an unsafe vibe.
5. Cigarette smoke drifting into a "non-smoking" room through the neighboring room's bathroom connecting wall and from under the gap in the doorway from the hall.
THOUGHTS:
1. For the price it's not too bad of a motel.
2. You get what you pay for, and we didn't expect much more than a comfortable room to sleep in while staying in the area.
3. We would "consider" staying again in the future. Keyword here is ... consider.
- carla (2/5): Scary - Very scarey the area and motel itself and no where did it mention it was a truck stop motel and the one picture looks way better than in person it really should be cited for hazards just like restaurants don't they have inspectors to make sure codes are up to date and there is at least some cleanliness ???
