Tina (6/5): - Staff very welcoming but overall it’s disappointing. Far too expensive for the type of accommodation. Initial impression meeting guests is that it is dishevelled and messy. It’s an old building so the bedroom floor is all off the level . The room was very poor with a big patch of wallpaper covering a damp wall. Food was poor enough for the price. The rating isn’t reflective of the property.

Phillip (10/5): - Loved it. Room was adequate (once you’ve got used to all the creaks and bumps). This is a 16th century building in all its glory. Food was plentiful, well cooked and hot. Although our room over looked an island there was no problem with road noise. There was plenty of parking front and rear. Cannot sing it’s praises enough, in fact we’ll be going back just as soon as we can. Loved it!

CHRISTINE (10/5): Fabulous hotel in fabulous countryside - We stayed here for the Redbull Hardline weekend. The location was perfect, just 10 minutes down the road. The hotel was great, friendly helpful staff, great location and delicious food. The surrounding countryside is stunning and this is a perfect base for walking or driving around it. We ate in the restaurant both nights and really enjoyed our meals. There is a good selection of food at various prices to suit everyone and my husband loved the IPA. The breakfast too was delicious and hand cooked to order. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back.

Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely treasure in the Welsh mountains - We booked last minute at the Brigand's Inn, and couldn't have been happier with our overnight. The hotel itself is lovely and historic, and its setting in the hills extremely picturesque. We paid for an upgrade, and discovered we were in a gorgeous room with a wooden canopy bed beneath a high, oak-framed ceiling. The dinner was one of the best we've discovered - the slow-roasted beef with Stilton sauce was superb, and the sticky toffee pudding rich and filling. Next morning's breakfast was also delicious. I can see why it was awarded the best breakfast in Wales by the tourist board.

Ate here both nights, menu wasn't that big and just fancied a salad in this heat, which wasn't on there. Nothing else within walking distance to grab a bite to eat or may have ventured out on second night. Pleasant staff though.
Bruno (8/5): - We stayed for just one night during the Mach Comfest - the hotel is about 25 mins from Machynlleth where acommodation is always quickly booked. The hotel was very easy to find with lots of parking space. Parts of the building ar XV century so if you don't like 'quirky' - slightly uneven floors, narrow corridors, low ceilings etc - you won't like Brigands Inn. What it does have is character in abundance. The room we had was comfortable and clean. We could not lower the venetian blind in the bathroom but this was attended to immediately when we informed reception. We were informed when we booked in that the hotel's wi-fi was down and wouldn't be available until the following Monday. Also as the in-room TV was internet dependent we would not be able to watch TV! As we were staying only the one night this did not present a major problem. Breakfast on Sat morning was excellent. we had one full Brigands and a smoked salmon with scrambled eggs - both generous and cooked to order. The only concerning issue was the fact that on checking out, our bill contained a dining charge for the previous night (Friday) when we had in fact returned to the Com fest to see the first of our booked shows. When this was pointed out to Kevin (?) he was quick to acknowledge the error and because he was not au fait with the credit card transaction machine ( and I had not checked the bill before paying!!!!) he refunded the overpayment in cash. This is a lovely hotel in the most scenic of locations.

Babybelle2015 (10/5): One of the best!! - Second stay here but certainly not second class....amazing place. Lovely staff. Clean, cosy and comfortable rooms. Beautiful food. A diamond in the rough......well a inn in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Was upgraded from a small twin room to a lovely sized double and had one of the best nights sleep ever. Nothing was to much trouble. Also had the most heartwarming greeting from Ruby I believe (the owners dog).....she should be on reception every day!
