We stayed in the Abberley Room which could not have been better in particular the super king bed which was so comfortable and the luxurious bathroom was fabulous.
All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble fir them. They made us feel very welcome..
The breakfast was fabulous and all the food was of a very high standard.
The location and views from the terrace are amazing and we will definately be returning to The Manor for another very relaxing stay. Thank You Food was amazing but unfortunately there wasn't a vegetarian menu option which made it difficult for our evening meal.
The bathroom was gorgeous but missing a non slip mat and a grab handle in the shower.

- Nick (10/5): Wonderful stay, great food and great staff - Lovely location, quiet end of the village, rooms we’re excellent and very comfy bed, food was excellent, staff were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly, service was prompt, often walking into a village pub with a suitcase can feel awkward but it was like home from home, really impressed
- Richard (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Attentive staff, fabulous rooms, delicious food! - Stayed for new year. Loved the tasting menu! The staff couldnt be more welcoming and attentive and the rooms are wonderful. Can’t wait to be back!
- Jeff (9/5): -
- Bev (9/5): Perfect location for what we needed - Lovely village inn which I’ve known for many years but never stayed at before. Lovely room and delicious breakfast Personally, the room was far too warm making for an uncomfortable sleep. So much so we had to open the windows and have the fan on all night even though it was December!
- Laura (10/5): Amazing friendly staff, great good and a lovely atmosphere - It felt like staying with an old friend The pillows were a little bit flat but that’s just personal taste
- Tania (10/5): Amazing food and hospitality in a delightful location. - Charming venue, absolutely faultless hospitality and stunningly good food. Really welcoming to our dog too!
- Mark (9/5): -
- Joseph (9/5): - Excellent staff and location Nil
- Avinash (10/5): Clean rooms great breakfast! Convenient location - Clean rooms great breakfast! Convenient location N/A
- Adrian (6/5): Good if you like sleeping in dog's rooms. - Nice converted pub with rooms. All clean. Rooms have all amenities. WiFi works, Netflix works. Nature around it beautiful. Plenty of parking with Blue Badge also. Staff friendly. We got the only room they had for humans only, all other rooms allowed animals in. If this doesn't shock you go ahead and stay there.
We sat down for dinner at 7pm. The bread and olives "on arrival" arrived at 7.50pm. Our main order ( fish and chips and chicken) arrived at 8.20, 80 minutes after sitting down. Prices for food and drink were very high.
Rooms don't have fire escape instructions, only one tiny laminated notice at the top of the stairs. How did they pass a H&S assessment beats me.
At about 9pm we had a ( false) fire alarm ...in the little room the sound was deafening to the extreme at sky high decibels achieving the opposite effect of making you move, we were stunned and shocked and paralysed...nobody bothered to inform us what it was or to apologise afterwards..we felt at risk the entire night.
Overal it gives the feeling the management is not quite trained in the hospitality business.
- Diane (10/5): -

- Carol (10/5): A hidden gem - Warm welcome, very helpful and friendly. Modern decor and exceptionally spacious en suite.
- Beth (10/5): Had a fantastic stay, the staff were so accommodating! Wanted to help us in every way possible because we didn't kno - Absolutely loved the vibe of the pub. Everything was super cozy and clean.

- Tanya (10/5): Lovely comfortable stay with a lovely breakfast. - Clean and modern
- East London Journeyman (10/5): - Nice room. Lovely rural location ( small village). Great views. Friendly staff. Good restaurant and breakfast.
- Jim (7/5): -
- Bill UK (5/5): OK, but somewhat overpriced for what was on offer. - Very good food for both dinner and breakfast.
Room was clean and well looked after
The people were friendly
Massive bathroom Claustrophobically small bedroom with a difficult to view TV if two were staying
The evening I was there the room was exceptionally noisy as if the staff were spending the whole time dragging furniture around. The room has the constant thrumming of a large fan till about 10:00 pm
- Robert (8/5): -
- Roger (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): -
- E Mary C (8/5): -
- Janice (10/5): - Everyone was very helpful nothing too much trouble.
- Susan (6/5): Nice room, disappointing food. - Lovely location- quiet and beautiful countryside. Comfortable bedroom and efficient shower. Nice outside patio and garden with rural views. Parking off road. Pretty village location next to ancient church. Disappointing food for price. Despite advertising full English breakfast in the not-cheap price, there was no bacon or sausage! Luckily, there were eggs.... No breakfast buffet, everything had to be ordered separately and therefore no choice of amount.
At lunch, the two starters were at best average, at worst lacking in flavour. The smoked haddock fishcake tasted only vaguely of fish and swam in far too much sauce for its small size. Dessert was good.
- Thais (9/5): -
- john (9/5): Well worth a stopover - Positive welcoming staff, pleasant clean room, high quality cuisine
- Steve (9/5): Well worth paying a bit more than cheaper places for the extra class in this lovely country venue. - Fabulous helpful staff, excellent quality food - breakfast and main menu. Well appointed clean rooms (ours had lovely rural views)
Stylish interior with lots of options for guests to be comfortable. Lovely patios and garden areas. A bit of noise from the adjoining room and a cool breakfast poached egg doesn't ruin a break!
- Ashley (6/5): - Location The room was very small
- Christopher (10/5): - Staff friendly and efficient. Great breakfast!
- Mark (6/5): Too small - Comfortable bed. Ridiculously small. We only had tiny cases but were tripping over them. Just too small to be in any way comfortable.
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): An amazing stay. Made very welcome by the staff. Food was outstanding - The rooms were well appointed and comfortable
Dinner was amazing
The hosts were very attentive
Food was first class
Will stay here again Nothing
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful location , fabulous food, spotless and comfortable rooms. - We stayed for a night whilst enjoying the nearby Shesley Walsh hill climb. What a find! Lovely room, spotless and very comfortable. Fantastic food and drink, from pub grub to a la carte. Really friendly and efficient staff, nothing too much trouble. Lovely view from the terrace across the valley. Fresh and tasty full cooked breakfast. All in all, a brilliant stay.
- Richard (9/5): Pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews - Quiet and well appointed with very good staff, also evening meal was very good and well presented
- Madelaine (10/5): Fantastic stay - Amazing stay, special shout out to Katy - she was fantastic. Great room, bed and breakfast. The only thing I would say is blackout curtains would be better but other than that a 10/10 stay. We will definitely return ☺️
- George (8/5): Very good - Staff very helpful and friendly.
- Guy (9/5): Superb -
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): A very good place for a weekend in beautiful countryside with excellent food. - This is a pub with rooms. The rooms are good without being outstanding, but the quality of the staff and the quality of the food marks it up to the top level. The rooms were very warm. Fans were provided, but even they weren’t enough.
- Maxine (10/5): Highly recommend - Wonderful in every way. Especially our delicious breakfast and grand bathroom!! Will be coming back.
- Josh (6/5): Pleasant - Good food No hot water
Gurgling noise in pipework all night
- Cheryl (10/5): Amazing service and great value for money. - We only stayed for 1 night as travelling to the area for a wedding. Communication with hotel staff was excellent. The staff went above and beyond with breakfast for us both! Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom. Wish we had longer as the surrounding area is beautiful and hotel gardens wonderful could easily have spent the day relaxing here. Nothing at all.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Great hotel with wonderful staff. - Fabulous place to stay. Staff were very welcoming and did a wonderful job of looking after us.
- Imogen (7/5): Beautiful setting, clean and comfy rooms - Beautiful rooms, very clean and comfortable.
Stunning scenery and terrace to enjoy the views. Rooms were very hot, so despite the comfy beds, the rooms were too warm for a good nights sleep.
One of my group is coeliac, and though we made this clear when booking, staff at breakfast didn't fill us with confidence that my friend would be safe eating.
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Happy (9/5): Superb - There wasn't a mirror in the room, so drying my hair was a bit tricky.
- Majid (10/5): Staff amazing kat cat Kathleen Katie - Everything was excellent, All the staff with the K ‘s
And C’s name were amazing and the breakfast team so helpful and polite as all were. Great views
- Alison (10/5): Worth a visit. - Lovely staff super food a very pleasant stay will go back. Nothing
- Anneka (9/5): Wonderful short stay - The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the room was spacious and comfortable.
- Lysanne (10/5): Comfortable, charming and fun - Lovely staff, great food, super view
- Neil (10/5): - Fantastic gem of a find in a beautiful small village. Staff very friendly and attentive
- Jay (9/5): A gem tucked away waiting to be discovered. - Set in a beautiful, quite quintessential hamlet. With fabulous views to sit out in with a glass of wine or beer. What’s not to like..
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely everything was fabulous.
Katy you were amazing
- Philip (10/5): Great few days with family - Stayed as a family, three rooms for two nights. Welcome phone call and email was great as well as when we arrived. Rooms were spacious, clean and modern with great views across the local countryside. Car charging was perfect after such a long journey.
Breakfast was great, good choice, good portions and friendly and attentive service. Would easily recommend the manor.
- Philip (10/5): - Amazing, looking forward to my next stay here.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Charming, good taste and lovely staff
- Jo (8/5): Beautiful dog walking village - Beautiful setting, well maintained great for dog walks. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, kind and so professional. They made my short stay a delight. I had a lovely bedroom called Mamble but it had no proper window, so felt a bit claustrophobic.
Two very small windows facing the car
Park with modesty glass, so not able to see the wonderful views that most visitors of the other bedrooms had. I suspect this is the primary bedroom for guests with dogs as the bedroom carpet was a bit stained in places.
- Paul (6/5): A good refresh needed. - The place is a bit rundown. It needs a fresh coat of paint and the carpets all need replacing they are disgusting.
- Thomas (4/5): More attention to detail needed - Very comfortable mattress and very quiet when no water was in use The room was very basic with no mirror near a plug to dry my hair. The only mirror was in the bathroom and the only plug was on the far side of the bedroom. Very noisy pumps for the water for the shower, sink and toilet. It must be cold in the winter because there was a big radiator and an additional heater in the room.
- Robert (8/5): Really enjoyed our short stay. - Great room with fantastic views. Food was excellent. Room overlooked the garden - very noisy at times.
- William (5/5): OK - Location Not able to enjoy breakfast as not served in time. Evening meal was expensive with small portions
- Steve (9/5): Great place for awwwkend away - Lovely building,in a nice area, fantastic view, some great staff, very very good food and good selection of beer and wines The bedroom floors do creek loads although I appreciate it’s a very old building, so that’s minor, all staff were lovely but some just a bit inexperienced but again minor for how nice they are
Will 💯 be back
Thank you
