- Juan Carlos (10/5): -
Nada a referir.

- Elvyra (10/5): A magical place. - Such a unique experience, so calming and charming, a true hidden gem away from noise, but at the same time just short way from all the touristy attractions. Beautiful views from terrace, could sit there in the sun looking at the valley all day long. And warm bread delivered daily for breakfast was amazing.
- Susana (10/5): - A disponibilidade e simpatia da Tatiana.
O pão quente diário e o bolo caseiro delicioso que fizeram. Obrigada pelo fim de semana excelente.
- Joao (8/5): Calma e tranquila .

- Beata (10/5): The perfect place for a few nights' stay - You won’t find a kinder or more attentive host than the one here. We stayed in an authentic, turn-of-the-century stone house with five-foot-thick walls, tucked away in a street that feels like the late 1800s. While the furnishings perfectly captured that historical atmosphere, we didn't have to sacrifice any modern comforts. Thank you for the thoughtful and meticulous hospitality. -
- Ilona (10/5): Polecam! Miejsce bardziej wyraziste niż Lizbona, Sintra itp. Polecam!

- Alena (10/5): - It was something unusual and atmospheric, truly a memorable place. Everything was at a high level: clean and comfortable beds, cozy atmosphere, and a very attentive host.
However, our cottage had a small courtyard without any view. The seating area was also not very convenient: a small stone table with three stumps instead of a proper terrace. It wasn’t what I was hoping for, and having breakfast there was uncomfortable. On both the website and Booking it’s difficult to understand which cottage you will get and what kind of terrace it will have. There are also not many photos, which I see as a small minus. My advice would be to make the booking process more transparent so guests can choose a specific cottage.
A huge plus was the presence of animals — they made our daughter’s stay truly special, and she didn’t even want to leave.
Overall, our impressions are excellent, and I would definitely recommend this place, just with the note to check in advance which cottage and courtyard you will get.

- Nuria (10/5): - Una "aldeia" preciosa i tranquila.
Paisagem natural. O sossego e silêncio. Do restaurante fechado.
Nada a apontar.

- D.G.S.S. (10/5): Time capsule - Small rustic village just like back in the old days, lovely place to spend some time Our stay was too short but we will be back
- MARTA (10/5): - Tutto!
- Zdena (10/5): -
Senti me feliz! As crianças vão adorar.
- Tatjana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lita (9/5): Superb - Beautiful and authentic village for a quiet holiday
- Julia_shkolna (7/5): Exceptional place with a pleasant staff, but there are things to improve - A great concept for accommodation—these days, having the chance to escape into nature, connect with animals, and experience local culture truly feels like a new kind of luxury.
The owners and staff of the hotel complex were incredibly pleasant and welcoming. The Wi-Fi quality was poor—there was coverage only in one central room of the house.
Breakfast could definitely be improved. We booked the house for two nights for four people, and on the second morning, all we got was some fresh bread—that was it :(
- Idith (8/5): Awesome concept! - Fresh bread every morning delivered at the door with a smile!
And on one quite cold morning we got delicious hot oatmeal made by
Anna the owner! The weather!
- Flavio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerstin (9/5): Like a museum - Amazing restoration of a traditional village. Beautiful houses, very friendly staff. We had a lovely house. It felt like living in a museum. Animals for the children to pet and feed...fresh bread in the morning. It was really clean as well. Lots of photos, didn't let me upload more... We didn't expect it not to have an oven, but staff could help out with a little portable oven. Which worked well.
Bread was delivered 9am, it was delicious, but for us 8am would be better.
The wood burner was quite smokey, it was also difficult to open the doors to add wood without any tools, as the handle was very hot and lots of smoke came into the room each time. This doesn't happen with our burner at home. The top room where the children slept was very smokey from this. But we loved the fire and warmth.
- Catherine (10/5): Authentic, peaceful and cosy - So homely, authentic and peaceful! All the extra touches like fresh baked bread in the mornings, the welcome carafe of our favourite ginjinha 😜 Tatiana was always on hand at reception if we needed anything and we loved all the animals! Maria the calico cat became our best friend! It was also easy to get to Sintra/Cascais/Lisbon by uber and the prices are so reasonable. The way the properties have been renovated is so sensitive and true to the era and region, every detail has been carefully considered. We are already planning our trip to return :-) Nothing!
- Caetano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sylwia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kotryna (10/5): Viešnagė, kuri buvo neįtikėtina, rekomenduojame - An exclusive place. It's hard to believe, but once you're here, you feel like you're in a museum. Authenticity has been completely preserved, the uniqueness of the village, the atmosphere is fabulous.
- Katia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): A wonderful place to relax and unwind! - The location was wonderfully rural and quiet. The breakfast of meat, cheese and fruit was in the refrigerator when we arrived, coffee and beverages stocked and ready to go. Fresh Mafra bread was left on a nail on your front door each morning. A cute calico kitten greeted us each morning and we enjoyed sitting outside on our stone patio sipping coffee to begin each day or wine at the lose. Absolutely wonderful! The mattresses could stand to be updated.
- Katarina (10/5): Exceptional - It was like staying in a house/village from last century just with modern facilities like electricity, hot water and heating. We had rabbits and guinea pigs in our patio which my kids adored but there were also other animals in the village. Every morning we got delivered fresh and still warm yummy bread. The owners were also super nice. We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing
- Musewald (9/5): Awesome would recommend it anytime! - The homes are part of a little village of 20 or so residents. They tried to keep everything as original as possible and they’ve done an exceptional job with that! We travelled with our 1 year old toddler who could explore the village almost on his own with no traffic etc. additionally the lifestock with donkeys, sheep, goats etc. was great for the little one. The view from the village is stunning and the hosts are very welcoming. The included breakfast contains among other things as shown on the photos freshly baked bread which was very good. During our stay it was very windy which could be heard through the chimney uncomfortably loud, but thats the price for keeping it original.
- Raul (10/5): Excelente - Extraordinaria. Tienen que ir
- Virginia (10/5): We felt completely at home and would definitely stay again. - We loved the quaint village and the warmth and hospitality of our wonderful hosts. They took care of every detail and made us feel completely at home. We loved visiting the animals and especially liked our visits from the friendly cats. Our house was charming and filled with beautiful antiques from yesteryear. It was also very nice having our own outside patio, which we enjoyed in the mornings to watch the sun come up.
Having breakfast delivered daily was wonderful, but having the bread warm when it arrived was amazing. We were disappointed the little restaurant was closed for holidays, but that had nothing to do with our hosts.
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Nicholas (10/5): Quiet, relaxing, beautiful. - Casa do Ti Eduardo..Super cute, the history of the previous owner was so lovely to hear. Eduardo born and lived in the house his whole life. All the as lovely..
- Filipa (8/5): Very good - Very nice environment, people and the breakfast on the door was a really great touch!
Really good to disconnect from day to day life. The bed for Casa do Lagar could be a little bigger
- Seoung (10/5): Overall would 100% recommend, a great place to stay. - We got a super unique and new experience staying here at this home. It felt like a home from a fairytale. The house was adorable and although it seemed quite old, it was extremely clean and obvious that it had been very well taken care of. The weather got kind of cold and we were able to use the heaters which worked very well. Our host was extremely kind and made sure we had everything to be comfortable. In the morning we even got fresh bread and we were provided some small food items when we arrived.
- Mouta (10/5): Thank you for making us feel at home like it was our Nana’s home! And the bread is to die for. Best retreat for families - Everything Nothing
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The location, village design, as well as the accommodation, attention to detail was amazing, so much history.
Great staff, and delicious tapas restaurant in the village!
- Linlin (10/5): Living in the history, a very special stay. - hot bread delivered at 9am every day. Snacks, fruits and drink are also provided upon arrival. N/A
- Adriana (10/5): Amazing, totally recommend it. - The village is absolutely fabulous, the views are amazing, it is very quiet, a good connection with the nature and the past times. The village is very authentic and very well preserved and offers an unique experience. I totally recommend it. Diogo, our host was very friendly and always there to meet our needs. Thank you very much for this lovely experience.
- Bethany (10/5): Quiet, relaxing, gorgeous. More than we hoped for. - Everything about the place was amazing. We felt immediately welcomed and valued and the house was insanely beautiful. I loved the breakfast spread and the little surprises that the hosts gave us with the fresh baked bread in the mornings. My husband and I came here for our 1st anniversary as a 2nd, fancier honeymoon and it was everything we were after. We experienced The Dream for a week (The Dream plus breakfast included, of course). The hosts helped us plan our trip with local advice, and even gave us a lift into Mafra on our last day as a kind gesture. This was after they let us and some other guests and their kids feed and meet their animals. Amazing place, amazing people. I have racked my brain to think of something to say to make my review a little more believable, but I just can't.
- Romana (10/5): The stay really moved us to the past and we could experience the life in the old portugese village. - The whole stay at Aldeia da Mata Pequena was an experience. The ambience of the old portugese village was really authentic and we really enjoyed discovering all the authentic facilities inside the house. The breakfast with the warm bread delivered in the morning was just the cherry on top.
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful situation and amazing hosts. - I loved how the properties were restored and were so well equipped and spotlessly clean. It really gave us an authentic Portuguese experience. Such a beautiful setting
- Mafalda (9/5): Superb - Location, staff, breakfast Bed could be more comfortable
- Elaine (10/5): Restful and thought provoking - Food provided for breakfast was extremely generous and delicious. Accommodation is self catering. A fresh loaf of the most delicious bread was delivered still warm every morning sometimes together with fresh pastries. Village has a friendly, open atmosphere. We had a wonderful rest - life is gentle, human and slow. Local towns and beaches are great. Lots to do nearby. Can’t think of anything that needs improving!
- Erik (8/5): Book, but after the construction is over, it's too loud and next door - Loved it. The houses are like from the Hobbit books. Everything is old. Nice hiking around the hills nearby. Fresh bread in the mornings. Jam was nice. The biggest problem was construction next door. It was so loud. We wanted to have a nice quiet family breakfasts and dinners - impossible because of drills noises. The construction is literally next door
Also they start at 8am with the drill - so no sleeping in.
Wifi doesn't reach the far bedrooms, only living room and the center of the house
- Mary (10/5): Extraordinary! Superb service and wonderful place - Beyond expectation comfort and service. Truly unique experience in heritage village. Very clean. Excellent and personal service by Anna! Freshly baked bread delivered daily, healthy breakfast and ensures all our needs are met. So glad we found this place.
- Patrick (10/5): - Erg goed! Heerlijk rustig. Alles was prima.
- Paul (9/5): I would certainly recommend the place. It exceeded are expectations. Lovely old houses. - Location was beautiful and tranquil. Host Anna and Tatiana are extremely helpful. Nothing
- Ricardo (10/5): Great value for money - Great choice of natural breakfast options, amazing natural juice and dialy delivered home made bread with local made jams.
Local cake and port upon arrival
Great service delivered. Just a suggestion to have an option to include an Charcuterie with local cheese and meats upon arrival with an additional cost that I would happy to pay.
- Liza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ciara (8/5): Quiet and tranquil, a perfect escape - Good location and views, quiet and calm. Exactly as advertised No complaints
- Wentao (9/5): Superb -
- Sherley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional - Liked the house, the flowers outside, patio, ginginha, warm bread in the morning, snacks in fridge! Fresh apples! All the animals in the village!
Tatiana is just a delight! Cats visiting everyday so sweet! Could have a bigger coffee pot for 4 people 😉
- Vera (10/5): Perfeito para descansar! - Estadia excelente. Casas muito pitorescas, limpeza impecável e anfitriões extremamente simpáticos e prestáveis. Possibilidade de encomendar refeições caseiras entregues á porta.
- am (8/5): - They have arrange free pick up at Mafra town.
We love the fresh bread deliver on every early morning.
It is a very peaceful and quiet traditional village.
- spencer (8/5): The village that time forgot. - What a beautiful and sympathetically restored location. The perfect place to get away from the stresses of modern life. Shame my trip was business not pleasure... only notable issue, they don’t have a credit card machine.
