• AMY (8/5): - SLO loft Gypsy is comfortable, nice layout, very secure. Perfect for shopping and dining downtown. I was warned about the noise from the street and the restaurant/bar below but I was naive My last night was Friday and there was a “guest DJ” in the establishment below us. All we heard (even with ear plugs) was the thumping beat cranked up. Although we enjoyed the stay for the most part we can’t return because of the noise. Sad about that The lofts are truly a unique experience and for that I say they must be visited a least once.

Just needs more information prior to booking such as: expect drunks and loud music that might keep you up at night (bar/club below), there is a hidden cleaning fee that is conveyed only in welcome envelope. And parking is off site in local parking garage.

• teria461 (2/5): CONSUMER BEWARE! - CONSUMER BEWARE! I booked a room at SLO Brew Lofts for November 2025 in May. Given all the reviews on the amount of noise at night, I changed my plans and reached out to cancel my reservation in June. Per the cancellation policy, I was to have received a full refund if at least 30 days notice was given. I emailed them twice and left two voicemails as per their instructions for cancellation and received NO RESPONSE. I ultimately had to reach out to my credit card company to investigate. Please be aware before booking. The rooms are pricey and it would be a shame to forfeit your deposit! Teri, NYC
• alyce (10/5): - This is our second stay at the Lofts and we will certainly be back again. Such unique and gorgeous rooms and amenities. Check in is super easy and they provide parking passes for a nearby parking garage. The Lofts are right in the heart of downtown SLO providing a cool vibe that is super convenient for shopping and dining. We can’t wait to go back!

You provided only one dish towel in the kitchen for 4 days. Also needed more hand towels. We needed an ice maker or trays to make ice. We appreciated plenty of paper towels and zip lock bags. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and staying close to our family in two other lofts.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice but noisy! - Great location, very nice and clean units, and great communication from staff. However, when they warn that it is in a noisy location, they mean it. Right over and across from extremely boisterous bars with lots of loud drunks. We were ok with it, but if you need silence to get a good nights sleep this probably isn’t the place for you.

• Sergio A (10/5): - Great place to stay in! Right in the middle of San Luis Obispo’s main area with stores, restaurants and a bunch of fun activities. Been to SLO a few times but decided to stay in town and choice this location. I’d rate the ease of the stay, the stay and the safety of our stay a 9/10. Could’ve been a 10 in my opinion but the door wasn’t accepting the code so had to be rebooted which took a few minutes but was off putting only because there’s no front desk and you have to reach out by call or text but it was fixed asap and worked from then on out and never had the problem again and the other thing that was iffy but it turned out to be ok was the parking situation. You park a block away from where you stay but I checked on my car the two nights we stayed and everything was ok and we even got vouchers so I didn’t pay anything plus everything is walking distance. 9/10 but would recommend this place to everyone above other locations and would def stay again!

The room was so spacious. The decorations were very cool! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Easy check in, pet-friendly, great communication! We will be back!

• Charlotte (8/5): Great, near perfect - I wish the original Slo brew restaurant and brewery were still downstairs. We also wish that there was a better coffee maker in the room, as well as a microwave, any microwave would’ve been good. Lastly, we were on the street side so we had bar noise until late, late evening, all to wake up at 6 AM to traffic noise and we’re thinking some type of leaf blower or power washer in the morning. If we didn’t have the noise, we would’ve had a restful evening.

• PAIGE (10/5): - We went to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. This place was an excellent location! The Cast Away was perfect! The loft had everything one could need. The room, lobby, and hallway were beautifully appointed. We brought our dog, and out back there’s a lawn (across the creek) for pet bathroom purposes. Because it’s downtown, you will hear the nightlife. This didn’t bother us at all. We cannot wait to stay here again!

• freedomofexploration (2/5): Great boutique concept, poor implementation - Slo Brew Lofts is undeniably modern, new, comfortable, and clean, but I wouldn't recommend staying there. While the lofts are aesthetically appealing, you can get a hotel of the same or higher caliber with the necessary amenities for the same prices. The lack of sleep and lack of convenient parking is enough to not recommend it. Location 1/5 Parking 1/5. no parking at the facility to difficult to load and unload luggage. Noise 1/5 Noise machine ear buds and sedatives weren’t sufficient enough to drown out noise outside Check in/Check out 1/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Staff hospitality customer service 4/5 Value for cost 2/5 Bed 5/5 Furniture Comfort 5/5 Bathroom 5/5 Privacy 5/5 Security 2/5 Noise: The lofts are located on Higuera St., in the middle of downtown SLO, above a bar with nightly live music and college kids until 2 am, even on Wednesday nights. These same drunk college kids were also hanging in front of the loft's entrance when we returned one night. The walls nor windows have soundproofing, so you can hear everyone's conversations and the music! Music beneath you starts at about 8/9. You can feel the bass vibrating through your body while you try to sleep. By 3 am it is quiet and you can finally sleep, only for the commercial morning mayhem to begin at 6am. The smell and sounds of street cleaning, businesses unloading trucks etc. We are accustomed to loud cities but lodging located within commercial districts should use 3 pane windows, sound proofed and insulated walls etc. Parking: Stating that parking comes with the hotel is a false advertisement and unacceptable and should be excluded from advertisement. There is no parking at the facility so you have to pull up quickly in front of the building to unload your luggage. There are only 2 PUBLIC white loading zone spaces, so if 2 cars are there, which they were for more than 10 mins at check- in, so you cannot guarantee their availability at check-in or check-out. If the spaces are full, then you’re either stuck circling the block or parking in the commercial zone which led to both of our cars getting $53 tickets despite us unloading our bags for less than 10 mins. At check-in, we drove around the block several times waiting for the spots to become available so that we could drop our luggage off in the room since we didn't want to leave our luggage in the car and didn't know where the parking lot was that we would be able to park in (you have to go upstairs to the loft to get the parking vouchers and location). Having a dinner reservation at 6:15pm, we could no longer continue to drive around the block so we parked in front of the two cars parked in the public loading zone. We took our luggage up to the room and came back down in less than 10 minutes because our dinner was in 15 minutes. We both received parking tickets at 5:49 pm, despite free parking starting at 6pm, for parking in the commercial zone right in front of the loading zone. At check-out, we had the same issue with the public loading parking spots, so we had to wait for them to free up, at which point I stood in the parking spaces while awaiting my friend to walk 3 blocks to the parking lot and return with her car so that we could guarantee a viable way to load our luggage into our cars. You receive a voucher for 1 car, so if you have 2 cars which you likely will since the lofts are 2 bedrooms, then the other person has to pay for parking. You can go to a hotel down the street and pay the same amount for valet and secure parking. Overall, nice concept but I wouldn't recommend staying there. You can spend the same amount down the street for quiet night's sleep and secure on site parking. We are going back next month for harvest season and will opt to stay at a different location.  Security: I booked through a 3rd party, Expedia and they didn’t mention that I’d be communicating with or providing payment methods to the owners directly. I was emailed and texted requesting my credit card information in order to receive check-in details. This made me very uncomfortable since I paid Expedia already and this disclosure wasn't included in the room confirmation.
• taj (2/5): - Modern, upscale, comfy, and clean! However, stating that parking comes with the loft is a false advertisement and unacceptable. Parking is not convenient for check-in. There is a voucher for 1 public unsecured parking garage 3 blocks away, but you can't get the vouchers until you first play musical chairs with all the cars using the PUBLIC loading zone that is needed for you to park and unload your luggage. Because it's public parking spots on the main downtown street, you cannot guarantee their availability. We drove around the block several times waiting for them to become avail. so that we could drop off our luggage. Having a dinner reservation at 6:15pm, we could no longer drive around, so we parked in the commercial zone next to the loading zone. We literally took our luggage up to the room and came back down because we had dinner in 15 mins. We both rcv'd parking tickets for $53 at 5:49pm despite free parking starting at 6pm bc we couldn't circle the block anymore. We had the same issue checking out when trying to load our cars. The lofts are LOUD!! We couldn't sleep until after 2am on a Wednesday & Thursday!! Drunk college kids were hanging out in front of the entry door when we came back from dinner, which made 2 women uncomfortable. 6am commercial street cleaning etc is even louder. There is no insulation, triple pane windows, and no reprieve from the loud commercial noise. Also didn't like being contacted for credit card info, despite booking through Expedia.
• williamo697 (4/5): “Noise disclosure” doesn’t cover it - live bands below your bed is more accurate - We were prepared for city-life-noise-level, but when the live band kicked off at 9pm the front bedroom of The Vagabond Loft became front row seats. Cute, until they played every weeknight until after midnight. Too bad, the rest of the loft was cool, but having a live band within feet of your bed is just stupid.
• Katelyn (2/5): don’t do it. this is your warning - absolutely horrible. the room was disgusting with stains all over the couch, chairs, and curtains. the NOISE was miserable. If you want to sleep, you won’t here. i felt like i was in the bar/club below since my room was shaking from the base and it didn’t stop until after 2am. then you’re hearing drunk people outside all night. can you give zero stars??
• Keri (10/5): - SLO Brew Lofts are in an amazing location in downtown San Luis Obispo. The self check-in is incredibly convenience. We loved the stylish and spacious living area. The kitchen was clean and provided the amenities to prepare simple meals. The beds were comfy too! I would love to return!
• hilt (10/5): - The property was very clean and new with a old world feel. It is as they warn you about very loud till 2am. The location worked great for us. My daughters wedding was around the corner and the wedding party all stayed there also. So we didn't mind the noise

• JDooley (8/5): Three Bedroom Voyager - The lofts are beautiful and nicely situated in the downtown area. We enjoyed our stay EXCEPT for one thing - the down comforters were way too warm for late May. We asked for lighter bedding and were told nothing else was available. All four of us had very warm and restless nights. We tried to turn the air conditioner on to cool the room to 60 but it would only go to 65 - still too warm. So that's my only suggestion. Get alternate bedding possibilities.
• stephaniecH1628QA (10/5): Great stay! - I would totally recommend the SLO Lofts! The location is in the middle of it all and very convenient. The decor is quirky and super fun. You have everything you need with the full kitchen and love the stocked fridge with beer/drinks! We appreciated the air conditioning. Only caveat is that Thursday/Friday/Saturday can be a bit noisy with the celebrations going on....

We went from a 300 person full wedding to just wedding party and immediate family (not at the lofts, but that is where the wedding party was staying). It still turned out great. Thanks to Casey for all your help. This wasn't our first time to stay at SLO Brew Lofts. The lofts are great and its downtown in the middle of all our favorite bars, restaurants sand shopping.

• Califhaggis (10/5): Two Nite Stay. - Great facility and suites. I dealt with Casey through email only and she was a great assistance in setting up our stay. If you are a short person you may need help getting in and out of their very comfortable beds. The facility is located in the heart of downtown with many local bars and restaurants around but during this climate of pandemic it was very quiet. The facility is a two minute walk from the mission across the creek. The only drawback is there is no onsite parking. You have to park in a city parking lot a two block walk away. I don't know about overnight security but I had no problems.

• stitch90210 (4/5): Noise is an issue and needs to be soundproofed - This place is beautifully designed. From the moment I walked into our room (Gypsy) I was amazed by the thoughtfully coordinated ambiance of the entire loft. Nothing to complain about with regards to the loft interior design, cleanliness and attention to detail. I wish I could give it a higher rating. What ruined the whole experience for me was the loud NOISE. Forget about sleeping here. Of course they mention that there's some noise because of the location being conveniently downtown, but honestly, it's completely downplayed. The first thing I would do if I owned this property and wanted it to be successful, is completely redo the sound proofing. It wasn't enough that you have vibrating music for hours during the night, but then you have your rowdy neighbors having a bachelor party with 20 guys who sound like they are destroying the place until 6am. It was really unbearable. The last night I was there I got sick and needed some rest and relaxation, but couldn't even sleep (with ear plugs in) because it sounds like you're laying inside a mix of a rave, concert, ball game, and a strip club all-in-one which starts around 10pm and goes until sunrise. Goes until sunrise because as soon as you think it's going to be quiet again, then the street washing starts. Then, you think you're in the clear, but then the alcohol trucks arrive to unload booze for the bars underneath, and this is all before 8am. I wish I had read the reviews more thoroughly before booking. Not sure any hotel in downtown SLO is going to be a respite from the noise, but I can't imagine anything being as horrible as my stay was. If you party and drink enough, like a couple of my friends who passed out because they drank enough not to be bothered, then you're fine. For those of us who don't blackout from drinking, or don't drink so much that you don't hear for hours, then this definitely isn't the place for you. This place should only be marketed to hard-partying people who don't want to sleep. You may as well have been sleeping upstairs at Mother's Tavern. I can't even imagine how much worse it was when SLO Brew Rock was still there. Just wow. Never again, and I will never recommend this place to anyone I know who likes to sleep before 2am.
• Sightsee612268 (10/5): Modern Luxury - So well located, private and convenient to downtown with high end modern finishes. Truly a 5-star hotel equivalent experience. Spacious, comfortable beds, SMEG appliances and lots of wonderful touches. Would definitely stay again. Book early because only a few units and they book up quickly.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great Apartment, Great Location, Lots of noise - The place was perfect, but as described the loud noise doesn't make this the ideal place for a family vacation with little ones that go to bed at exactly the same time the crowd and music start roaring. Also the sofabed is comfortable, but there needs to be curtains in the kitchen to make it more accommodating. The location is ideal, right in the middle of downtown, the apartment is spacious and has plenty of entertainment with an apple tv, poker chips, chess, and more. It was a touch decision to stay inside or go explore downtown.

My one suggestion would be to have additional towel hooks in bathroom as well as a small table adjacent to sink so guests have a place for their toiletries. We would definitely recommend lofts to others.
• pnormandy (10/5): - Its a great place to stay but don't stay here if you don't like loud thumping music and a bunch of screaming college kids. Bars start thumping at 10pm and go until 2am and it does get loud.
• 124rachela (2/5): Never ever again. - If you don’t need to sleep at all, then okay. Cute place. But sleeping here is not an option. They don’t make it very clear as to how LOUD THIS PLACE IS. It’s a joke. We booked another hotel to sleep. I have stayed in loud places. But I’m telling you. This place...you might as well be on the street. No different. They tell you (after you book and pay) no refunds for noise. If they expect to ask for money for this place they should’ve at least sound proofed the walls and windows. Not a place that should ask for money. Seriously. Our first night we had to sleep with our headphones on ...all night. Slo brew lofts..a miss.

My only issue with our stay was that the mattress is too soft and hurt my back a bit. I wish they had firmer mattresses. But, otherwise my family and I had an awesome experience!

• lorilawson357 (10/5): Great downtown lofts in San Luis Obispo - The SLO Brew Lofts are really big and a fun spot to stay if you want to be right downtown San Luis Obispo, with shops, restaurants, farmer's market. My daughter has stayed 3 times now, and will most likely be back in the future. Morgan was very helpful with all of our questions. Great customer service!

• kristent947 (10/5): Awesome property - Absolutely amazing! Decorated beautifully large and spacious. Super clean! I will stay here every time I come to town if it’s available. There is a full kitchen, with anything that you would need during your stay. The bathrooms are beautiful and the rooms are gorgeous. They were very helpful and easy to work with too.

• Flyer08145909959 (10/5): Best place for a large weekend party! - I planned a surprise 40th Birthday Bash for my husband at the SLO Brew Lofts and my expectations were greatly exceeded! We rented out the whole floor for friends traveling from out of town and spent a majority of our time in the Carissa Club together, which is located in the middle of the floor. SLO Brew staff worked with me to cater breakfast one morning and food from the restaurant for a party of 60 people. We also brought in our own snacks/food and alcohol, and even ordered a keg from SLO Brew Rock. I felt like I was really catered to as the staff were all amazing with both pre-planning and throughout the weekend. Every loft is beautiful and the one wth the rooftop deck made the party that much better! There was so much to do at The Lofts alone with board games, poker chips, old record players and tvs, plus we were in the middle of downtown SLO, which made it easy to walk to food, stores, and ice cream at any point. We also took a morning trip to Avila to kayak and SUP. It was loud from DJ below between 11pm and maybe 1-2am, but since we were partying too, it really didn't stop us from sleeping. Earplugs were provided at each bedside table. I would definitely do it all over again and hope to soon! I highly recommend staying here, especially for large groups... best weekend ever! Thank you SLO Brew Lofts for a good time.
