Guest Reviews
- Lisa (10/5): Excellent stay. Can’t wait to return. - Loved the breakfast delivered to room. Historic, cute, entertaining, nice staff, downtown location, lots of interesting little venues and specialty bars. Didn’t like their beer.
- Eastwell (9/5): - The rooms were clean and comfortable; the entire complex was well maintained with lots of open air areas. The neighborhood was interesting with many and varied facilities including the old Tower Theater.
- Leah (10/5): -
- Ferenc (10/5): - Location

- Jodie (10/5): Great stay in a unique place! - Cool and quirky building. Good restaurant and really enjoyed the indoor pool.
- Steven (10/5): -
- Julia (8/5): - Location, vibe, architecture, decor No in room amenities such as a way to make tea or coffee, and no refrigerator which, given the price was a negative.
- Kirstie (10/5): We will be back! - Everything was perfect! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy and was located in a perfect area to go to downtown Bend. We will be back
- juli (10/5): - We liked the location, the staff, and the varied historic facilities on the property. It is a compound!
We stayed across the parking lot from the main building in the Ed House. Terrific room, comfortable bed, and decor reminiscent of the era it represents--there are surprises throughout the property! Easy walk to restaurants, breweries, cafes and the river.
We regret that we only stayed one night and could not absorb all the great offerings of McMeneman's!
- Carolyn (10/5): -
- William (10/5): Had a wonderful stay, would definitely recommend and stay again. - Our room was nice and cozy. Love all the unique art throughout the halls. Was hoping the coffee bar would have had more than one regular coffee option.
- Molly (10/5): Very Portland- in Bend - So unique and quirky and fun Nothing
- Erica (9/5): Fun stay in downtown with lots of activities - Very interesting and unique property blots to see and do with bars, soaking pool, shuffle board, secret rooms and art. The location was perfect for downtown bend. Staff were fantastic. Rooms were nice. Nothing
- Cathy (5/5): Hard at night to find your way around. Bed was horrible. TV was so small for the size of room - Cool place with the secret rooms. Restaurant and bars on sight are very good. The bed was HORRIBLE. And very hard to even find entrance to office at night. Hard to find entrance where our room was located.
- Michael (9/5): Great location. Fun and very clean establishment. - Location is perfect. We incorporate many activities in Bend during our stay. Movie theatre is fun. Can not think of a thing.
- Karli (9/5): -
- Jenna (10/5): -
- Diana (9/5): - Didn't know we had to request room service....had to get new towels/glasses delivered.
Parking is not easy at all....
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Rachael (9/5): Always a new adventure staying here - Always love the experience and convenience of staying here Not much
- James (7/5): Overall good but they can improve the facility. - Beautiful, historic building. Lots of character. Confusing layout with poor signage. Noisy.
- Cole (10/5): -
- Albert (10/5): -
- Marco (8/5): Friendly staff, decent food, convenient location, clean rooms -

- Christy (9/5): - Good.
- monique (9/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): Stay here! You’ll be happy you did! - Cool funky historical property with a great pub and “hidden” speakeasy. Really enjoyed exploring around the place. Room was really comfortable.
Location is downtown so walking around is easy. Nuttin’!
- Kerry (9/5): - very unique and quirky place. The soaking pool was excellent and the food and drinks were great.
- Cindy (10/5): Wonderful. - We loved the the whole complex and that you can walk to so many places to eat.
- Shoop (9/5): - N/A
- Henry (10/5): -
- Todd (8/5): Fun place to stay for a long weekend exploring Bend. - Great location with plenty of inviting bar/eating options on site or within a short walk Better lighting in halls and stairwells. Service in the pub was not as attentive as I'd like (checking to see if you need more coffee or that your food is as you ordered, etc.)
- Lisa (10/5): - Beautiful and interesting property
- MPS66 (10/5): Cozy - I like the sprawling comforts-so many places to sit, soak amd imagine, Nothing
- Linda (10/5): It was a very fun experience. We would stay there again. - We enjoyed roaming around the place and finding the hidden rooms. We also had fun with the live music.
- Cynthia (5/5): Skip the stay but go for a cocktail! - This hotel seems more interested in creating a fun, quirky social environment than a great stay experience. We would not stay again, but we would go have a cocktail! For the price, the room amenities did not meet expectations at all. We missed a notation on the check in handout letting us know that we had to call the night before for room cleaning… small, 2 star quality towels, and yes, I get it that this is a vintage property, but at $400+a night, I expect a showerhead and fixtures that aren’t 2 star quality!
- Madison (9/5): - McMenamins lived up to the hype! It was funky, fun, joyful, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the buildings, finding a few secret spots, and soaking in their stunning hot pool. The bed was comfortable, our room was cozy, and it was at such a great location to walk to all of downtown. Plus, we stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff left a bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate - such a sweet and unexpected gesture!
Would definitely stay there again! The pillows and bed were a bit too soft for my liking but that's definitely not a deal breaker whatsoever. And parking was a little tough but nothing we can't handle. Truly, I can't think of anything that we didn't like.
- Kathy (10/5): Amazing stay! - Very fun and exciting to explore and check out all the hidden gems Nothing.
- Tammy (10/5): If you are looking for fun and unusual - Love it here. So unique. Clean and homey. Employees were great. So much to do.
- Cheryl (10/5): -
- Noelle (8/5): - It’s centered downtown so much to see and do close by. Parking is a bit of an issue. Drove around 10 minutes until a spot opened up.
- Al (10/5): We enjoyed our stay for both the restaurant and overnight accommodation - Artistic touches Like everything
- Debora (10/5): - I loved everything about this place.
- Brad (10/5): - Fun quirky place! Clean and safe, walkable to many areas, has restaurant, bars, outdoor seating area, a movie theater, history & artwork, a beautiful soaking pool.
- Thomas (8/5): - Rooms were comfortable but could be updated. Staff were very friendly. Enjoyed being in the downtown area and close to restaurants and bars.
- Sara (10/5): - I loved this hotel and will always stay there when in the area.
- Melissa (10/5): - The staff were great - friendly and happy, as well as responsive. Property is unique and fun. Great experience.
- John (9/5): -
- Alison (8/5): - No working internet
- Nathan (10/5): - Had everything all in one location, Very impressed
- Agnes (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again.
- Hughes (10/5): -
- Williams (10/5): -
- Kaipo (8/5): - We liked everything about the area and the buildings and houses. The beer. The food was good and the staff was excellent. My biggest complaint which has been at a few McMenamins is the beds are way too soft and when laying on them you feel like the blood is rushing to your head. I would go with either a firmer mattress or some kind of memory foam .
- Kendel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kris (10/5): Treat yourself to the McMenamins experience! - Can't beat the character of this place - one of the coolest lodging experiences we have had. With each room having its own theme and artwork, the secret panels leading to hidden rooms, a speakeasy bar, gorgeously tiled and open ceilinged soaking pool, and various onsite entertainments available, the place is like an all-inclusive resort. Plus you are within a couple minutes' walk from old town Bend. We really loved our stay. We can't imagine how it could be better.
- Renae (8/5): Very good -
- Nancy (7/5): This was a small property compared to others we’ve seen, but thus is the first place we stayed overnight. The staff were - Secret rooms, scavenger hunt with prize, excellent food, movie was really fun, soaking pool was special. Everything was pretty dark and there were spiders in the bed.
- Govro (3/5): This is an interesting, quirky property, but as a hotel it was not good. - The bed was comfortable, and the food in the restaurants was pretty good. Close to downtown shopping. The bathroom was very small, and there was no counter space around the sink, just an enlarged area on either side of the sink handles. It was insufficient for a three day stay for a couple. Water from the shower nozzle just sort of dribbled out in a stream. It was a decent amount of water, but it came out like it was coming out of a sink faucet. The closet was very small and only had four hangers, so not much of a closet. There was no coffee maker or microwave in the room. We had to go to the third floor (Art Building) to get coffee. The coffee in the pot was not hot after 10:00 AM. Our room was about 200 yards from the check-in desk - we had to walk to it on the sidewalk or through the parking lot and restaurant outside eating areas to get there. Parking was limited, and often full. Except for overnight hours, street parking is limited to two hours. Lighting in the hallways and stairwells is very dim, (part of the quirky ambiance, I guess.) The onsite restaurants don't open until 11:00, so, you'll have to leave the property to get breakfast. The very nice people at the desk gave us a site map, but the various buildings and amenities were not identified.
- Roy (9/5): Excellent and will stay there again when in the area. - Parking was very bad.
- robin (8/5): - The property has three or more outside sitting areas for food or drinks. Very quaint. A little eerie if you were taught by nuns!
- sharron (10/5): we are McMenaminites - we loved this place. They had the friendliest and most helpful staff. The room was perfect....roomy, great bed, nice bathroom and great shower. We found plenty to do including playing table games in the Fireside pub. The food was delish and well presented. We also finally made Tripsters on this stay and look forward to spending many more nights at McMenamins properties!!
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (6/5): Pleasant - The bartender @ the broom closet was great. Smoke coming in from outside patio fires. Sheets were rough.
- Doug (10/5): So funky, you HAVE. to take the time to explore the facility! - A cool, eclectic set of buildings, with Great Wall art, unique themed rooms, hidden walkways, a hidden speakeasy…. Oh, and great food!
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): You are there! Just right in the middle of it all, but mostly you are taking it all in! - It's just such a fun environment No complaints...
- Amanda (8/5): - Walking distance to everything in Bend. And the soaking tub.
- Paul (10/5): Quiet Pet Friendly Hotel - Great stay with us and our pets - a dog and cockatoo - will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of our favorite stays!
- Todd (10/5): - If you're eating at the pub, do yourself a favor and get the "expedition elk" burger. The coffee-bacon jam is delightful.
Excellent service all the way around!!
- Don (9/5): Would recommend it to everyone - People

- Abbe (10/5): Worth it! - Atmosphere is great here. Every building had something crazy weird or amazing that made it such a unique and beautiful experience. I felt bad for leaving my kids but this place is just what we needed. Can't wait to come back. ❤️
- Susan (10/5): - great
- Amy J (4/5): - Cold room, never got warm. Corner room with windows facing parking lots, not impressed with first stay
- andromeda (10/5): Tons of history - Tons of cool stuff to see hear, from hidden rooms to hidden bars this was such a cool place with tons of history.
- Melinda (9/5): A stay with a big personality - Our charming room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We loved exploring the property and the proximity to downtown. The quirky personality of McMenamin's properties is always a draw for us. We've stayed in three now. The parking was an issue. We had to drive around the block and wait for someone to leave in order to secure a space. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer season. We were there in January.
- Larry (10/5): - Great spot
- Craig (9/5): I really liked the atmosphere of the area. - I like the style of the buildings, the outside fire pits, being able to roam around downtown. The Coffee.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (10/5): - Absolutely, awesome best place ever

- Robert (10/5): - Great
- Alicia (10/5): Excellent! - Very comfortable and fun
- Sheetal (2/5): - Staff did not update on the sub total when checking into the hotel. No update on any extra information how much it would cost. Two females were extremely unprofessional and did not communicate much. On the check out day the young lady gave the final
Cost. Miscommunication lead to asking more questions about the holding fees plus anything additional to the stay. Overall im quite surprised because we have been here previously. We love this hotel and the ambiance. Better luck next time I guess !!!!!!
- Audrey (10/5): - Loved this place. It was fun to explore and hang out in the various spots on the property. I would certainly stay there again!
- Rebekah (10/5): We will be back! - Great location, loved the free coffee in the morning and fun atmosphere!
