- Joanne (8/5): Very nice stay. Would recommend and would book again if coming to Great Yarmouth. - Lovely room. Comfortable big bed. Lovely shower, water and milk in the fridge. Tea and coffee all good. Nice breakfast. Very minor - the toilet seat would not stay up.
- Ambalika (7/5): Great location, great food and friendly staff. - Great food, both breakfast and dinner. A good choice for breakfast, cooked to order. The Sunday roast dinner was marvellous and reasonably priced. Restaurant staff are very friendly and approachable. We would be happy to dine there again. The room was a bit smaller than expected for 3 guests. The bathroom was too small. The sink was small with no shelves or storage space above for toothbrushes etc. No space to keep towels, so they kept falling on the floor. There was dust on multiple surfaces in the room.

- Ross (10/5): -
- clive (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): A fantastic, well run hotel. With friendly staff who are always willing to help. - It’s location. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Arcades. Nothing
- Collingwood (10/5): -
- Ross (5/5): Honest review - The location is great a short walk from the centre and right on the beach front.
The staff were brilliant, no issues with the personnel. The hotel is dated. The beds were rock hard. Its sounds bad but the premier inn along the seafront would have been an upgrade.
Room was very small, shower/bath room was large but the bath was tiny.
- Charles (9/5): Wonderful Stay at the Imperial Hotel at Great Yarmouth - The room was elegant, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was superb.. very high quality and perfectly cooked. Victoria, one of the breakfast staff, was wonderful.. both friendly without being overbearing, and helpful.
- Steven (9/5): - Staff go out of their way to make your experience an exceptional one.
- Buckingham (7/5): - Lovely old hotel but a little tired Bar to small for hotel
- Lynn (8/5): Excellent hotel with friendly staff - Great staff and nice location Our room was a bit noisy plus the carpets smelt a bit musty
- Cranham (9/5): - That it was on the seafront and the staff were brilliant That we were on the 3rd floor with an old fashioned lift which was a little unnerved me a little bit
- Miroslava (9/5): We have enjoyed our stay and thank you ! - Location close to beach and town, lovely kind staff , comfortable beds, clean , air / heating con Not enough vegetarian options, didn’t like /eat meal as it really didn’t taste nice still being charged tho, overly food not the best ( apart from breakfast although even there my child found a hair in and me some bits of plastic that I was told to be bone ( it was crescent shaped and odd) having said that it was dealt with promptly
And shower very oddly done - the sealing around sticking out and the top shower constantly dripping ice cold water even when trying to use the wall shower unit … water from walk in shower room then basically running out all over toilet room
- victoria (10/5): - Everyone and everything was exceptional. Very welcoming on arrival. Clear and helpful. Great room. Clean and spacious and airy. Late night bar, great breakfast- Great location
The owner we met - Great social skills. Showed love for his hotel - and mentioned he has a mattress man who comes and checks the beds every 6 months. I mean! Whhhaaaat! Bed comfy. Drinks good prices and breakfast was amazing. So much choice and all included
We took my dog and we had doggy treats on the bed. They even appreciated a little silly drunk vibes. Would highly recommend. We felt comfortable and relaxed. And enjoyed a great Stay Everything ❤️
- Debbie (10/5): - Exceptionally friendly staff, nothing too much trouble.wonderful clean rooms. Absolutely nothing
- Tony (10/5): -
- matthew (3/5): Not worth the value - No kettle or tea making facilities in the room if they were in there they were so well hidden they couldn’t be found and someone trying to get into the room to clean it 45 minutes before checkout even though we hadn’t checked out
- Michael (8/5): - All good
- Wort (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Both the dinner and Breakfast were excellent, we had the dinner in Cafe Cru and the breakfast in the Terrace with the brilliant sunshine, amazing!! N/A
- IAN (3/5): Poor and over priced - Nothing No water or coffee.
Uncomfortable bed
Poor accessibility
Noisy outdoors
Glum staff
Dirty toilet
- John (9/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Great Hotel - Lovely Victorian type seaside hotel with many original features yet tastefully refurbished in a modern style. Lovely room, air-conditioned, huge bed, great breakfast, large car park. Had to lower the score because whilst the room had a lovely new shower, the water was cool to luke warm. Not warm enough for a shower. Very disappointing.
- Compton (9/5): The Imperial is faultlessly represented by incredible staff at every level. - Clean and unpretentious. Even the old two door lift adds to the charm
- Deb (10/5): -
- Anita (10/5): Excellent and highly recommended - Beautiful property Sea front, very grand, well maintained. Beautiful room, comfortable bed and wonderful bathroom and shower!!
- Gail (10/5): -
- Ivan B (9/5): - Very good facilities, food, drink and rooms. Great staff and a good location. The £5 levy to the bill for the use of a function room for our party. Surely the money the guests had spent on meal, drinks and overnight stay was sufficient profit?
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Ian (10/5): - Friendly staff, high standard of cleanliness
- Sandra (10/5): A terrific stay. We couldn't fault anything. - Staff are all excellent and so so friendly and helpful. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay a terrific experience. Nothing could have been better..
- Malcolm (8/5): Good - Breakfast good Need a rubber bath mat as bath very slippery when wet
- Gary (7/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Lovely stay perfect for our visit close to all amenities and the full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve had - On the sea front 5mins away from pier
- Vanessa (10/5): We enjoyed it so much, thinking about coming back - The breakfast was excellent Everything was perfect
- Alice (8/5): Great service - Location and comfort
- Scott (8/5): Great staff, tasty breakfast, superb location. - Lovely seafront hotel with great views and independent charm however it's the staff who elevate the rating. The breakfast was superb too. Stairwell had musky smell
- John (9/5): An enjoyable stay in a great and convenient location. - Good room size and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the Terrace room was excellent. A couple of small points. The bath / shower was a bit cramped. Also, the drainer on the bathroom sink didn't appear to work.
- Graham (9/5): Very comfortable with great focus on the customer. - Everything was very satisfactory.
The only thing that could be improved is the elderly Lift which is awkward when handling several items of luggage. Thank you The elderly Lift.
- Emma (10/5): - Bed lift breakfast
- Penny (7/5): Ok - Position and sea view. Bed ok but button poked up ... need a think protector or a new bed.
- Steve (9/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): - great staff Central heating erratic
- julie (9/5): -
- Anca Ramona (10/5): Happy holidays! - Staff were friendly as always, atmosphere nice and relaxed. We had a wonderful time as always. Thank you, we will be returning!
- Martina (9/5): -
- paul (10/5): - Everything about this hotel is fantastic nothing is to much trouble for the staff especially the duty manager in cafe cru food is great and breakfast was amazing one of the best breakfast I've ever eaten Nothing not to like
- Gert (8/5): -
- Ann (10/5): Enjoyable comfort stay. -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Zoe (9/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Great stay , very friendly staff. Room was very clean . Fantastic breakfast. - staff were very welcoming . Bathroom was very hot due to heated towel rail on continuously
through the night . After opening the window the room soon cooled down, in hindsight I should have left the window open all night.
- andrewotter (9/5): - Very clean hotel. Nice staff. Good food. Pricing for dog.
- John (9/5): -
- Sandra (8/5): A great nights rest from work and a home from home - Really friendly people great food and comfortable room and thanks for the bath. Easy to find plenty of car parking lovely hotel
- Steve (9/5): Loved it. Would return. - Very nice staff. The food was excellent. Breakfast served to the table. Sea View, close to the beach, dog friendly, lift, good local beer on draught, warm and comfortable room. Bed a little hard for my liking.
- john (8/5): Excellent short break stay for the horseracing despite not having a winner. - Staff very helpful and very friendly. Food excellent. Location was close for the promenade and the town about 20 minute walk. Our bedroom was small however it was well equipped and very clean, the shower room was very clean and the shower good with plenty of instant hot water.
- Anthony (7/5): Very traditional olde English hotel, with quality staff. - Good Location, right next to beach and large car park opposite the Hotel albeit you need to pay.
Staff were very friendly, especially Reception, and I would single out the Cleaning staff who offered to take our case down on the last day.
Great sea view, recently refurbished room I would say.
Good bed, comfortable. Tea making in the room.
Parking was reserved for us prior to arrival, by use of cone, and we retained that for time we were there.
Dinner was a little pricey but good quality and service excellent. Scallops and Pork Belly was superb starter.
Wine list was exceptional, very varied, never seen such a range of red wines.
Nothing to do with Hotel I have to say, but found access to decent eateries outside hotel difficult, very few pubs around or those that actually do food, so could understand some perhaps, more elderly immobile clients, eating in hotel. This is Great Yarmouth after all, and not everybody wants fish and chips most nights ?
Booked 4 nights, stayed 3, left early, no fault of hotel, but felt I’ll, and had to go home early. Found the lift a bit annoying albeit I appreciate its historical value.2 doors to close each time.
The hotel Car Park was a bit haphazard.People seemed to Park anywhere, at the end of the row of cars so you couldnt get out, and had to reverse out, some parked in the electric charging spaces, when they had petrol or diesel cars ? Not the fault of the hotel, more the customers, but wasn’t enforced either, despite obvious warning signs. Some people can be very selfish of course, and have no respect for others.
Breakfast was curious some days, wife didn’t get any bacon with her full English, first day only got one pot of tea between us, should have had 2 we realised afterwards, dont like complaining for relatively minor issues.Saw examples of other mistakes made over Breakfast orders but put right quickly.
Didn’t enjoy some diners coming into hotel that were non residents clearly, being quite rowdy.
- Gary (9/5): -
- Sarah (2/5): -
- Fisher (9/5): Imperial Hotel - Everything, cannot fault this Hotel. Wasn't too mean on the bacon and sausage used for the breakfast.
- Mallia (9/5): A really nice hotel with very pleasant staff. - I stayed at the imperial hotel for a family wedding. The hotel was comfortable and very clean. The staff, especially in the breakfast room, were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. A very enjoyable stay. One small criticism although there is quite a lot of parking available because of the layout moving the car was quite difficult for all the drivers in our party.
- Debbie (8/5): -
- Dave (10/5): - Just lovely staff and good facilities
A nice hotel!
- Oonagh (5/5): It was fine, would stay there again if I was in Great Yarmouth - The rooms and hotel were clean. The staff were friendly. It was good value for money.
- DEREK (8/5): Great hotel good food and staff - Very good service from the staff who helped us with our cases as we both have walking difficulties.
Enjoyed the food we had at the hotel. Better access for people with walking issues , the main stairs to reception are steep and you have to get to reception to ask for help with the stenna lift.
- Karen (9/5): Flying visit but The Imperial Hotel made it extra special. - Enjoyed my stay. Fabulous dinner - beautifully light batter in haddock that was cooked perfectly, tasty, very moreish chips, punchy minty mushy peas and creamy tartare sauce 😋
Treated myself to a delicious vanilla espresso martini - delightful !
Lovely room, good size, fabulously comfy bed, pleasant outlook over Wellesley Recreation Ground.
Staff were super polite and helpful.
Had a great visit to Great Yarmouth and would have no hesitation in staying at The Imperial again. Nothing. All good.
- Ellen (10/5): - Everything friendly helpful staff clean tidy comfortable Absolutely nothing
- Steven (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Great location, breakfast and staff - A wonderful building right on the sea front. Staff are fantastic and helpful. Hotel allows you to pay your bill and charges via a link to speed up check out.
- Patricia (10/5): Fantastic staff - The staff were really friendly and helpful As a person with mobility issues, there were a few steps I had to negotiate, but that really wasn't the fault of the hotel. I should have researched the hotel better.
- scott (10/5): - Always a great stay . Friendly , professional staff . Fantastic breakfast served on the terrace . Will be back . Thanks
- Danny (8/5): -
- Egon (8/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): -
- dean (6/5): Good location and food. Nice staff. For the price point, could do with a furniture refresh. - Location and food very good. Staff helpful & good onsite parking. Sea view room small. Decor and furniture showing its age.
- DEBBIE (9/5): - Loved the room with sea view and balcony. Enjoyed being able to sit out in the morning sun with a refreshing cup of tea prior to breakfast. The small fridge was also a bonus to keep our water, milk and other items cold.
Staff were extremely friendly and polite throughout the hotel. Could not find anything to complain about.
- Mark (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Best choice - 10star service and friendly staff Not applicable
- Simon (8/5): Find somewhere else to park! - Easy to find, staff were friendly and helpful and food was ok. Car park was full when I arrived It would be better to make it a guests only car park! or have designated parking for guests only! I had to find somewhere else to park because of that!!!
- Gill (10/5): Fab , short break - Our room was lovely and a good size. the breakfast was fab . The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location is great right on the sea front . Would definitely recommend
- Daniel (9/5): Best place to stay in Great Yarmouth. I was pleasantly surprised. - Very nice and homely feel, clean and recently renovated rooms. Spacious. Good location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast
- Adam (9/5): -
- Alison (10/5): - Food was outstanding evening meal and breakfast superb
- Philippa (7/5): Lovely family stay - The warm welcome and lovely staff, one of our rooms had a big shower and the food was excellent This is a traditional hotel, as such it seems a bit dated. Also for the price paid, the rooms seemed expensive (although we did book last minute)
- Brociek-Coulton (10/5): - Thank you to George who gave us a walk in shower with my knees i really needed that. Staff as usual were fantastic. Nothing we wouldnt come back again and again if it wasnt winderful to visit
- Michael (7/5): We only stayed 2 nights to see a show at the nearby Britannia pier so this was excellent. We stayed here last year as wel - Location was good. The car park was close by. Breakfasts were good.comfortable beds. Towel rail in bathroom was very hot and could not be turned off. Lift was old and only enough room for two.
- Lalit (9/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): - Really friendly staff and comfortable room
- Paul (10/5): A very comfortable relaxing place to stay - Breakfast is great , a good selection well presented and good value
- Debbie (10/5): Had a lovely weekend always stay at Imperial - Always welcoming, room lovely, breakfast amazing as always. Staff always want to help even the cleaners x Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): Amazing food and great staff - Super friendly staff
- Laraine (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): I came with a friend to attend a friend’s wedding at the hotel everything went smoothly the staff couldn’t do enough it - Perfect location the rooms were very spacious and clean the views from the hotel were stunning I have no negative comments
- Karen (6/5): Staff food excellent. Due to the limitations of the room available for family, would not stay again - Excellent staff in all areas of the hotel
Breakfast was excellent both for quality and choice. All cooked fresh. Maybe the extensive breakfast menu was he reason for quite long waits
Dinner for adults; choice, quality and value for money excellent. Unfortunately not so for children. Very limited choice and not very healthy choices Family room. Very small for 3 people (x2 adults and 5 year old) and extremely dark. Would have been happy to pay to upgrade to a deluxe Seaview room but was told not possible, and that all the room sizes were similar and configuration meant it wasn't possible to put a single bed in the rooms. However pictures on website made these particular rooms look plenty big enough!
- Stephanie (10/5): Perfect short stay in a perfect location - Lovely room. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Perfect location. NA
