For 600 US they put me in a room where you could barely walk around the bed and when you sat on the toilet your feet were in the shower. I did get moved after 2 days.

The location is simply perfect — an ideal base for exploring the stunning nearby temples, with great restaurants within walking distance, a safe and welcoming neighborhood, and easy access to the rest of the city via water taxi or train. There's even a 7-Eleven around the corner for water and supplies, which sounds like a small thing until you actually need it. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful at every turn. But the true star of the stay was our waterfront room. It was one of the pricier hotels on our trip, and the room itself is compact — but the view? Absolutely off the charts. Worth every penny. We would return without hesitation and recommend it to anyone visiting Bangkok. Above Riva, the hotel restaurant: the breakfast was amazing, the dinner atmosphere was lovely, and the views are just as spectacular as the ones from the room. One small but worth-noting improvement: the bathroom commode light is controlled by the same switch as the bedroom light, meaning any middle-of-the-night trip disturbs whoever is sleeping. A separate switch would be an easy fix and make a real difference. We improvised a workaround with some electronics, but it shouldn't come to that.

Can’t remember all their names but the lady who welcomed us and dealt with my mini tantrum when I realised I’d booked a hotel without a swimming pool (🙄) to the reception staff, roof top staff etc . Location is perfect . Dozens of coffee shops/restaurants on doorstep and minutes away from pier where you can book river trips . Room was exceptionally comfortable and well thought out making use of the space to include everything you need . LOVED this hotel !!!! Loved everything

• Lynn (10/5): Great boutique hotel experience. - This was the first hotel we stayed at on our first trip to Thailand. The location was great. We could easily visit the different sights, hop on a river boat or metro, and quickly go to the different areas of the city. For breakfast the terrace restaurant served a great breakfast at a very fair price then, at dinner, there was a spectacular view of Wat Arun with all the lights and the food was truly delicious. — large portions at a very fair price. Now let’s talk about the bed - it was soooo comfortable!!! Lots of great pillows and sheets were high quality. We had a room with a view of the river and also Wat Arun. We were worried it would be loud at night but everything died down by 22:00 and we slept like babies! The staff, especially Pink, were the best ever!! They were authentic and genuinely cared that their guests were well taken care of. They arranged for a driver to take us to Ayutthaya and answered any and all questions we had in a refreshingly helpful way. We felt well-cared for and our stay was memorable. We’d recommend our friends to stay there and, next time we come to Bangkok, we’ll be sure to stay there, too. NA

Rooms were air-conditioned, clean and tidy with toiletries and water included. Within easy reach of the grand palace, & reclining buddy and a short, cheap (5bht) ferry ride to Wat Arun. The tourist boat pier is also close by for easy access to other attractions on the river. Would definitely recommend ☺️ Nothing
• Simone (7/5): Great View, Average Stay - The Riva Arun Bangkok clearly stands out because of its excellent location by the river and the spectacular view of Wat Arun, especially during breakfast and in the evening at the restaurant. The view is truly special and without question the hotel’s biggest highlight. Apart from that, however, the hotel did not fully convince us. The rooms are quite small and awkwardly laid out, which makes them feel cramped. There was also a strange, unpleasant smell in the hallway, and overall the property seems like it could benefit from renovation. Considering the price level, we feel that breakfast should be included, as the overall value for money does not fully match expectations. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and helpful, and transfers were well organized, which we appreciated. Conclusion: A decent choice mainly for the location and the view, but otherwise nothing particularly special. For this price range, Bangkok offers hotels with a stronger overall experience.

Am Fluss direkt gegenüber Wat Arun gelegen, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Golden Palace, Wat Pho, dem Blumenmarkt und zahlreichen anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten entfernt. Vom Rooftop Restaurant hat man einen tollen Blick auf Wat Arun. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer schön eingerichtet und komfortabel. Herausragend war das Bett, das so bequem war, dass wir auch gerne tagsüber mal eine Rast einlegten. Einzig bei der Klimaanlage hätten wir uns für nachts noch eine Stufe niedriger für die Geschwindigkeit des Ventilators gewünscht. Aber in der zweiten Nacht hatten wir uns schon daran gewöhnt.

• Meander64346660004 (10/5): Fabulous stay at River Arun, Bangkok. - The hotel is conveniently situated along the vibrant river Chao Phraya and rooms have views of the beautiful Wat Arun. There is a fabulous rooftop bar and restaurant that over looks the river far and wide. The hotel is close to other attractions and little shops and street food if you want a snack. The rooms are very clean and thoughtful stocked with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The bed and pillows made me feel like l was at my own home. The staff are super friendly and ready to help or give you advice for your excursions. We even received a hand written card from the staff as a thank you for staying with them. The food and drinks were also delicious. I loved eating my breakfast at the roof top restaurant every morning and watching the boats busily passing by. I highly recommend staying at Riva Arun for your next visit to Bangkok.

• 571melanieg (10/5): The best view and fabulous location! - We felt this hotel is a gem in the historic district. We were so surprised when our room had a perfect view of Wat Arun and the river. We loved watching Wat Arun in its glory at sunrise, daytime, dusk and night. Our room was very comfortable and had all that we needed. We enjoyed our breakfast on the roof with a lovely 360 view. The staff were all very friendly and gracious. Location is great. It is easy to take a quick ferry ride to Wat Arun by and basically across the street of Wat Pho temple. There are also other shops and restaurants nearby. Just a short tuk-tuk to Chinatown and the night food market. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit.
• wacko123 (4/5): Just don't go ! - Photos are quite misleading: this hotel does not appear to have had any maintenance for years. Breakfast one of the worst I have had for years (unfortunately paid in advance) so we didn't have any other meals there. The 2 Stars are for the staff, and the view of Wat Arun and location for Reclining Buddha.

Die einzigartige Aussicht von der Rooftopbar auf Wat Arun und die Stadt. Das Essen war sehr gut! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Zimmer etwas beengt und trotzdem gut!
• Paul (9/5): Good place close to some of the main tourist spots. - Great location. Close to river and Grand Palace. Rooftop restaurant has some wonderful views of the surroundings. Staff were very helpful. Room was compact. City View was of adjacent alley.

• karleys2013 (10/5): Details to know - The other reviews cover this place pretty well. Great service, location and rooms are nice with comfortable beds and fantastic view! Things to know: They provide toiletries (liquid soap in shower & small bar hand soap), blow dryer, room had a mini bar. Electric plugs are universal and our A & B (United States worked). Looked like C from Europe would as well. Air conditioning good, decent water pressure and warm water. WiFi free & fine. Restaurants located steps away include: Rongos (make reservations in advance), Supanniga (make reservations for dinner, we walked in for lunch), Tha Arun. We ate at last 2 several times -very good. The ferry to Wat Arun alley is between the last 2 listed. These places are small so this sounds complex, it is not. There's a coffee house/cafe at the end of the street on the corner, also good. Opposite corner has 7/11. I'd absolutely stay here again & recommend
