The bed was very comfortable and the shower efficient Having experienced one of the Tudor rooms at the front last year, we were pretty disappointed at the small size and lack of character of Combe for which we paid a fair amount. The tiny door to the bathroom would not shut properly and the bathroom itself was just so plain. There were no comfortable chairs in the bedroom indeed it would have been difficult to fit one in

The building has to be 17th century or earlier and oozes charm. We always stay in the kings suite which has a lounge as well and we love it. We only live 20 mins away but stay here for a treat as it is so quaint. We love it!

I called to request early arrival and the person who answered the phone didn't identify as Crown Inn and seemed grumpy at my request, even though we are encouraged to call for such things.

We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast at The Crown. We even bought a book from reception, about The Crown and Chiddingfold. We couldn't find anything to dislike.

The bedroom was comfy and clean, with all the essentials. Breakfast was nice, and relaxed as there were only a few guests that night. I ate in the restaurant and was about to leave a tip when paying until I noticed that they had already added 12.5% to the entire bill, including drinks that I had earlier from the bar. I was disappointed that I was not asked of this..
