- Alex (8/5): We had a great stay with excellent services and very nice Onsen - Location, breakfast, stuff, Onsen Japanese style bed a bit uncomfortable,
- 福山 (7/5): - スキー場から近く、朝ごはんのビュッフェは絶品だった 部屋が乾燥しているため、加湿する必要あり
- Nolan (10/5): Great value and experience. Great staff. - Good location, good breakfast, comfortable futons, very friendly and helpful staff, nice drying room for ski gear, nice onsen Nothing, but slightly long walk to the gondola
- Theodore (8/5): Very good value, nice location, and great rooms and breakfast - I liked the traditional feel and the amenities, especially the breakfast, free coffee and tea, and the TV My TV did not have a working remote because the batteries were dead. The staff should check this in the future. When I told the staff, they asked me to change the batteries. The staff should be able to do this, a guest should not have to. I know it was winter, but the rooms were unbelievably warm.

- Rachel (9/5): Great stay, lovely staff and local to the mountains - The mostly lovely and helpful staff! The rooms and hotel were well kept and comfortable. The breakfast was also great, with lots of different options. The hotel is also walking distance to the main resort, bars and restaurants and ski/ snowboard hire, which was very handy. Overalll, great stay! Nothing
- Alastair (8/5): - This is a pleasant hotel with a friendly family run feel. The Japanese style room was delightful; and the included breakfast was just what was needed, offering a wide variety of tasty food to suit all tastes. Attached to a Ryokan via a tunnel, linking a variety of onsens, and offering a particular Japanese cuisine, Shabu Shabu, it had a lovely, boutiquey ambience overall. Big ski locker and drying room. There was a comfortable looking lounge on the second floor, available for guest use, but the bar, which looked great, was not in use. I could imagine it being lively during busier times. The room could include a few more complementary services, range of tea and coffees etc. It was a little way from the main village (5-10 minute walk) and lifts (15 minutes)
- Phillippa (7/5): Cosy and warm - Very helpful staff and you can book a private onsen. The breakfast is good, great ski storage.
Beds very soft but the room was warm and cosy and perfect for what we wanted. Its a bit dated and could do with updating, the room was clean but the hallways felt a bit grubby. Didn't like that the duvet cover doesn't actually cover the whole duvet nor the sheet but when requested we were given additional sheets that solved the problem.

- Sonia (10/5): -
- Valentina (10/5): - The owner was very nice. Nothing.
- Rick (9/5): Great stay, close to everything and will be back. - Close to Happone Centre and bus terminal.
Spacious room, great breakfast and an amazing onsen. But that is was an issue but hotel is on the older side and the room temperature seemed to be set, so when to hot open windows to control.
- Joanna (6/5): - The owner was incredibly helpful and we loved the Onsen in the hotel It was not what we expected from other reviews- we were in the annex in a Japanese style room that we did not realise had no shower although there was a private toilet - check room descriptions carefully- our mistake. The decor was not modern.
- Jo (9/5): Perfect and value for money - Comfortable and easy to get to snow field The under ground passage, a lot of steps w luggage
- Clare (10/5): Excellent - A hotel that is cozy and homely. It is family-owned. Owners are very hardworking, helpful, kind and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Had a bit of struggle and difficulty to drag luggage from main hotel outside to the other building called annex as there was a short stairs and had to open a door.
- Magdolna (10/5): One of our favourites - We had an excellent time. Every staff member was friendly and extremely helpful.
The hotel room was spacious and comfortable.
We tried the private onsen many times. Recommend

- Emmanuel Andre Raymond (9/5): Loved it! We will come back! - Great Japanese hotel experience, great guest, good food at breakfast, good facilities! Need to adapt to the tatami bed style.
- Doni (5/5): - The hotel was outdated,
- Keng Sheng (8/5):
- Dang (10/5): -

- Lene (10/5): - We stayed on the Japanese floor, which was a nice experience. The Onsen was lovely. Old fashioned in appearance.
- Andrea (10/5): - Very nice location. 4 minutt walk from happo one bus station. Nice breakfast. Lovely hotspring.

- Chris (8/5): Great location and facilities esp onsen. Rooms could do with an upgrade. - Location. Onsen was great. Breakfast good. Staff helpful. No dinner service or shuttle to slopes. Rooms could do with an upgrade, lighting in room was poor.
- Seraina (10/5): - The Onsen was great and the breakfast as well.
There is a direct shuttle to the 47 resort in front of the hotel or you can also walk for around 7min to the slopes of Happo One.
I would definetly stay again.
- James (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay. Will be coming back. - Great staff. Great amenities. Awesome breakfast. Great location.
- Wan Yin (8/5): A perfect skiing weekend at Hakuba - Small family run hotel. Nothing
- YUE (10/5): - loved it, great location and good service, the breakfast was really good!
- Zak (8/5): Very satisfied and will come back and recumbent to our friends. - Very good and complete. The food was of good quality and variety.
The staff were very polite and accommodating. Everything was good.
- Snezana (10/5): - We had a great stay! The hotel offers only Japanese-style rooms, but they were very comfortable. The onsen was excellent, and we also really enjoyed the private onsen. The service was outstanding, and it’s a lovely family-owned hotel. The location was great, close to restaurants and shops, and very convenient for ski shuttle buses to the lifts. We hope to come back!

- yves (6/5): - An aging hotel.
A bit far from the station on foot, and from the ski lifts, with no shuttle service.
Walking with skis is quite long and inconvenient.
Breakfast service is very basic.
The bathroom décor feels straight out of the 1970s — some may like it, others less so.
The only real positive point is the pleasant onsen
- Richard (7/5): -
- mario (8/5): -
- Mathurawan (10/5): -
- Clare (8/5): Cost family run hotel - The onsen My room lights were a bit dim.
- Joan (7/5): We enjoyed the stay but the bedding should be improved - Close proximity to restaurants & Hakuba 47 bus stop is just outside the hotel The tatami was placed on a 3 part folded cushion which was really uncomfortable, both ends are soft while the middle section is hard.. even my children had backache on first night .. the pillow is also hard .. one side is buckwheat filled ..
What we like about the room is the balcony which allows opening of the windows , cos Japanese rooms can be stuffy from the heater ..
The staff are really friendly & helpful . Breakfast is simple but good .. We had dinner one night at the Ryokan & the tempura don is delicious . Kids had shabu shabu & they like them too.
Onsen is never busy , I was on my own on most nights .
There is also coin operated washer/dryer

- Jacek (10/5): Great ski trip accommodation - Staff was extremely helpful - room was very spacious - free onsen was a bonus - oh and the breakfast was really good
- Francesco (8/5): Very good -
- Antoine (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (8/5): - This is a great location for accessing the mountains and enjoying the snow. There are both public and private onsens on site, the manager is lovely and helpful and the drying room for your winter equipment is also great. I have nothing but great memories :-)
- Natasha (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was homey, plentiful and buffet style. The dining area was also spacious and super relaxing. We stayed in the traditional japanese room and it was completely fine sleeping on the floor in futons. There was sufficient heating as well for the colder nights. The wifi connection was good to do work as well. The location was pretty good if you wanted to be close to the Happo One Bus Terminal only a few minutes walk away. Overall a pretty decent stay and good value for money. I particularly enjoyed this hotel because it was a family run hotel too and it's always nice to support the locals. The bonus was that there was an onsen as well included in your accommodation which was nice to use after a long day on the slopes. Nothing! I enjoyed everything.
- Michelle (10/5): - I had a traditional Japanese room. It was super comfortable - and the view from my window of Happo One was beautiful! It was convenient walk to restaurants and bars. The Happo One gondola was a bit of a hike - but definitely within easy walking distance is the Hakuba Happo bus station. Easy to get to other mountains via the shuttle.
- Rui (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- carlos (10/5): - hotel was great - food was delicious and the Onsen was perfect
- Michael (7/5): Good location and clean - A bit old
- Matte (10/5): Exceptional -
- David Christian (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay at the Ougiya for two nights' skiing. It's a no-frills kind of place, which was fine for our needs. The room was a decent size, the onsen was good and the overall ambience was pleasant. It is an easy walk from the bus stop with various dining options and ski rental in the village. One thing to note is that although it's billed as 'ski-in ski-out', it isn't - you have to walk a few minutes to the nearest rental shop then take a shuttle bus from there to whichever slope you want to go to. This was not a major issue, it's just that the description on Expedia is not quite accurate. All in all, good value for an end-of-season ski trip.
- Dasheng (8/5): Very good -
- Gunther (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed so much the stay, the breakfast and the onsen particularly and the staff super nice! Maybe the walking from the main hall to the annex, but aside from that all good
- Colin (8/5): Good place to stay for access to Happo One, comfortable - Generally good traditional Japanese hotel. OK size rooms for Japan. 15 minutes walk to Happo One. Not too far from the bus station to access rest of the Valley. Good breakfast Not the most modern hotel, but adequate. Shower is traditional Japanese which you can only hold and has to be rated as inadequate.
- Feronika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Tadas (4/5): - Hotel is outdated, front staff looks tired of everything.
- Peter (8/5): Happo area stay close to resort. - Location was good for Happo area and the onsen temp was perfect. Also has an elevator so you don't need to climb stairs.
- Yamazaki (10/5): Great spot if you want to ski/Great staff, AMAZING breakfast, - The staff were friendly, accommodating to my needs and helpful. I also liked the ski/snowboard room on the first floor, very convenient. It’s sort of a walk to the gondola/lifts, however, close to the shuttle stop/convenience store. Thinking about it now, it’s probably the best spot to be in.
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Marlee (2/5): - We arrived to Hakuba Hotel at 3pm (the posted check-in time). However, there was no one at the front desk for 2 hours. We waited 30 minutes, then decided to leave our bags in the lobby to go out and grab some food and rent skis. When we finally got checked in, we brought our bags to our Japan style room in the hotel's annex building. It was nice at first to hear the annex was connected through an underground tunnel, however, the tunnel was filled with mold. You could see black mold in the ceiling tiles, a bucket was on the ground to catch a water leak, and the carpet tiles were all clearly pulling up due to moisture below. Our room itself seemed relatively clean, but our tatami mat bed rolls had stains all over them and our room included extra pillows, but no pillow cases. We ended up using t-shirts and towels to cover the pillows. The front desk told us that they don't provide room cleaning throughout our stay unless we request it, however, it's hard to request a room cleaning when there is never anyone at the front desk. The breakfast was not good, we found ourselves picking away at certain things that seemed good enough to eat. We were so uncomfortable in this hotel that we decided to leave early and move to a different accommodation for the last two nights. When I explained this to the front desk and requested a refund, they provided zero help. I truly do not understand how Hakuba Hotel has such good reviews, I would highly recommend not staying here.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Dylan (10/5): Amazing place with high class facilities with a homey Japanese feel. - The Japanese couple that run the property were absolutely wonderful. So friendly and so helpful! The ski gear room had tons of space and our gloves were dry every morning, our tatami room was immaculate, the onsen was absolutely gorgeous (and almost always empty for a solo onsen after 10pm!), and all the little extras along the way were so appreciated. We were blown away by the breakfast buffet, it kept us snowboarding all day long. Also, when one of our bags hadn’t arrived, our wonderful host did all the work tracking it down for us (turned out it had been delivered next door). Really can’t say enough nice things about this place, we didn’t want to leave and will definitely stay again our next time in Hakuba :) That I couldn’t steal their dog. She was soooo cute!
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): - Staff can communicate in basic english, my traditional room did not disappoint, clean and well done up morning buffet. Can walk to any restaurants, grocery stores and of course the chair lift.
- Colin (7/5): Good -
- Dang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hing (9/5): Nice place to stay and close to Happo one ski field ! - Very good location and very nice view , room arena The central air conditions was too hot and no way to adjust have to open the window and sleep
Shower a bit weak
