• Beach (4/5): I have previously stayed at The Quest in Ak and also recommended to family who have booked. Picked The Quest in Petone d - Location Mould and bugs in room. No milk provided for tea/coffee even though I phoned down and they said some should be in fridge.

• Randall (7/5): Overall a nice tidy room with excellent chattels. Perfect for two. Watch the parking though. - The room was clean and tidy and well lit. The Nespresso Virtuo coffee machine was a very pleasant surprise. The facilities seemed to be pretty new and well kept overall. Getting in was a chore as we arrived after the reception had closed. I tried to use the door keypad to call reception and did get someone but they said they would let me in remotely and never did. Instead an exiting guest let me through. Luckily the person on the phone did tell me the safe code so I could get my key and get into my room. However, when I made the booking, nothing indicated that off screen parking was extra/had to be reserved special. This was annoying as on street parking there is sparse so I had to find a spot down the road as off street was already full. Also, the free Wifi seemed quite slow. Finally, the rollaway was not set up and was a bit hard to squeeze into the room we had. For two people, this room would be idea. But adding the rollaway made it impossible to move around the living/kitchen area once it was setup. And setting it up in the bedroom would have blocked the toilet/shower.
• Lea (7/5): Bumpy start but ended up being a great stay. - The staff were very nice and helpful, the second room i was in had a great view of the bay. I arrived at about 1am and was told to use for buzzer to be let in and no answer, so back and forth with unhelpful security i was let in after about half an hour. I book with Quest for the apartment facilities, washing machine and dryer but the room is was first put in did not have them, I was told it had broken and after 4 nights was moved into a much better room with all the facilities I expected.

• Val Moala Silafai (10/5): Perfection - I loved the layout of the Apartment. Even my partner loved it. The fact it was a 2bedroom apartment booked lastminute was even better. The view from the apartment was AMAZINNNG. I am definetly requesting this room apartment There was nothing not to like. I loved everything about the apartment. I love staying at the Quest here in Petone and The terrace! The best!

Half of LED strip lighting, which was the rooms main lighting was not working Major health and safety risk as there was a stepdown from bedroom area to kitchen area which was not lit at night. Loose fixtures and fittings in bathroom. Toilet seat loose. Towel rails loose and wobbly. Only 1 sharp knife in cutlery draw.

• Tiara (9/5): Great Location, spacious apartment with everything you need - Room was clean and spacious, very comfortable for 4 of us. Loved the location and being central to everywhere we wanted to be. The air con didn't help during the middle of the day. It was hard to get airflow throughout the apartment and was too hot for us to be there during a sunny day. Could imagine this accom would be good in winter when you do want the warmth trapped inside.

Our view out the window was the pits straight into a concrete wall and we were never advised of such. We could not dress for the weather because we couldn't see the outside. It was like paying for a trip to prison, that is how we felt. There were no instructions books on how to use the hot plate or oven.

Ryan was amazing & was able to sort out the bed as one of the wheels wasn't intact & got one of the kitchen necessities replaced promptly. Thank you Ryan. Great location even though I used to live in Petone so I already knew it was close to beach, shops, restaurants & the train station & many more places in Petone. Loved how they displayed my name on the tv on the Welcome message Probably just the rusty frypan that was in the kitchen drawers. Probably good if the everything can be checked before guests arrive. But I was able to get a brand new frypan when asked for.

Well.equipped rooms with fridge, microwave, tea/coffee etc. Laundry faciluties avail. Great view from our 3rd floor balcony. On site parking but there is a cost 🤨 Some street parking available nearby but there will likely be a walk to accom. Too bad onsite parking isn't free, but .........

And the central location meant that we were able to access Petone's large assortment of bars and restaurants as well as being really close to the city. Shower doors are really annoying to open and close and poetntially they had not enough rolls of toilet paper as per our number of days staying there? But overall an awesome stay.

• Stephen (7/5): Where were the staff? - The apartment was well set out, comfortable and clean. Reception only open 9-4pm on weekends which meant we never saw a person. Might as well have been a high rise airbnb which would have been cheaper. check in process clumsy as a result and standing outside in cold giving personal information
• Jenn (7/5): Good stay, central location, worth paying extra for carpark as parking street parking limited - Great location, facilities were clean and had everything we needed, 500m from the esplanade, cafes, bars and restaurants all within a short walk, and easy to get to. The parking was awesome, had to pay $15 p/n but it was worth it as there wasn't much available on the street. The people in the room next to us were partying and it was quite loud which wasn't great, lots of noises from upstairs and around us. Bit of wear and tear in the rooms that didn't show in pictures - all pictures of rooms had balconies so we assumed we would have one but we didn't so would have paid to double check that also.
