The shower gels were good quality. Evening meals were expensive and portions on small side. No hairdryer in room and room overall (room 7) was very small for couples- no shelves or hooks and only one bedside table.
• Berenice (10/5): - The hotel has been recently renovated and is very comfortable. The bedding is excellent, and the room decoration is beautiful. A lovely experience in a traditional English inn. On the downside, we felt quite rushed to come down for dinner as soon as we arrived at the hotel and place our order due to a shortage of staff. The waitress asked us several times within less than 10 minutes if we were ready to order despite not all of our party being at the table yet. Once we did, we then had to wait a very long time to be served. We fully understand the staffing constraints, but it might have been nicer to take our order first and then allow us to go to our rooms to relax for 10–15 minutes, especially given how long the wait for the food was. The staff were kind, but we just felt a bit rushed.

Das Hotel liegt nahe der Altstadt von Lynton und auch der Bahnstation zum Meer runter. Die Mitarbeiter waren jederzeit freundlich. Wir waren im 2. Obergeschoss und der Wasserdruck war gering, so dass ein Duschen in der tollen Dusche nicht wirklich gut geklappt hat

• Andre (10/5): Cozy super Cottage als guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Cotswolds zu besuchen. - Das Cottage war super eingerichtet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Die schiefen Böden und die unterschiedlichen Durchgangshöhen der Türen waren passend für ein solch altes und dennoch modernes Cottage. Unschlagbar war für uns der Kamin, den wir jeden Abend genossen haben. Feuerholz gab es gratis vom Vermieter dazu. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war top und super einfach und schnell. Wenn wir wieder in UK sind, kommen wir sicher wieder hier her. Toller Ausgangspunkt für die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Cotswolds. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld durch Booking.com und den. Vemittler (nicht die Vermieter selbst) war etwas nervig, da ich gefühlt von jedem 4 Mail und Nachrichten erhalten habe. Das war einfach zu viel :-). Dies schmälert aber in keinster Weise die tolle Unterkunft.

Would have preferred a kettle rather than a coffee machine. The wardrobe in our room 5 was extremely difficult to open, it looked new and probably hadn’t been used much.

We like Lynton and the area as we have been several times over the years It was a bit tricky to par the car initially, but we parked around the front in the end! The only criticism was that we could smell the extractor fan from our bedroom as we were at the back of the hotel!

Friendly & accommodating staff & a good selection of real ales. The room we had was lovely & an extra heater was supplied because it was very chilly. The bedding was very good quality & ample tea & coffee facilities. The breakfasts were fantastic! A good selection of locally sourced ingredients & great fresh coffee. We had a ovely stay in a quiet village on the coast of stunning Exmoor. The shower room was cold due to no heat source or heated towel rail & also no vent to dissipate steam as the windows were sealed.

• Sita (9/5): Amazing - The night we arrived the boiler was broken and there was no heating as the boiler was broken. The manager Georgie was incredibly kind and made sure everyone was well taken care of. We were given blankets and a heater right away. The water was supposed to be fixed the next morning but it took longer than expected so she kindly offered us the following night for free. She was very caring and constantly checked in to make sure we felt comfortable and welcome. I can’t praise her enough this woman truly deserves a raise.

• Michael (4/5): Unloved, dirty. In need of a full refurb. - The location was excellent, the breakfast fine, bed comfortable. Room 3 has the large kitchen extractor outside the window, impossible to ignore. Moved to room 4 which was quieter, but initially told we would pay extra, so we said we would rather go home, and then key handed over... The bathroom was horrendous, poor state of repair. The windows were all chained to stop them opening more than a tiny amount, impossible to escape in a fire. It was dirty and unloved. Zero sound insulation, could hear the full conversations in the bar/ lounge area below.

Unfortunately, the shower was hopeless. Very slow and on the second day, there was no hot water at all from the shower. The bath was no better. No water coming from the hot tap at all.

• Marleen (6/5): Schönes Hotel in toller Lage und in einem alten Haus mit sehr netten Mitarbeiter*innen. - Das Hotel ist super gelegen und alle Mitarbeiter*innen sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist köstlich und das Ambiente im Hotel wirklich schön. Es ist recht ruhig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Haus ist alt und es ist beeindruckend, wie gut es erhalten ist. Das Badezimmer war sehr schimmelig, wahrscheinlich weil es zu kalt und nicht beheizbar ist. Unser Zimmer war nicht beheizt und die Heizung kaputt, weshalb es im verregneten Herbst ziemlich kalt war. Zwar gab es einen kleinen elektrischen Heizer, der hat aber nicht viel gebracht, zumal wir diesen nicht eingeschaltet haben, wenn wir das Zimmer verlassen oder geschlafen haben.

Veel keus op bestelling. Pub food was ook prima. Zeer zachte twijfelaar (smal bed).. waardoor liggen op de rand erg lastig was. Erg lawaaierig gebouw, alles kraakte en piepte. Maar rustig, zodra iedereen sliep.

• Thomas (9/5): Wir würden wiederkommen. - Das Frühstück war hervorragend und bot sowohl englische als auch kontinentale Angebote von hoher Qualität. Die Lage ist wunderbar, das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen war auch sehr gut. Die Treppen sind recht steil und das Zimmer war recht klein, aber beides war kein Problen für uns.

• Bob Thornton (9/5): Great hotel at a good price with friendly staff and fantastic breakfast. Excellent pub too. - Everything about our stay was great. I would definitely recommend staying here. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Family 1 night stay - Great location. We used the car park nearby as hotel car park was full which is only a short walk. Staff very friendly. Hotel in good condition and great character. Would definitely stay again and explore Lynton a bit more.

The coffee making machine didn’t work and the waste bin was overflowing from the previous guest. Car park could not be pre booked and operated on a first come first served basis.

• Anne (4/5): - Bathroom door didn’t shut properly. Bathroom fittings looked a little old & tired. Very noisy bar opposite hotel, with loud music until 11.45pm.
• Janet (7/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel back entrance is down a small lane. The car park is extremely small with 4-5 spaces. Getting in and out is tricky. Be aware that to get to the accommodation on the second floor means negotiating some narrow, very steep sets of stairs. We are elderly and it was quite a challenge, although our bags were carried up and back down for us by the staff. On the positive side, once into our room it was clean and comfortable. The shower is over the bath so climbing in and out could be slippery and slightly hazardous. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant and that was good value. If you are young and fit with a small car then this could be a lovely place to stay. We wouldn't return to this hotel.
• Helen (7/5): Comfortable enough and staff very pleasant - Lovely staff and couldn’t do enough. Rooms a bit tired and could do with a make over.
• Nicole (9/5): - Ein extrem leckeres Frühstück hatten wir jeden Tag inklusive, und es gab einen Parkplatz am Haus, man kann auch essen im Pub und alles in Lynton und lynmouth kann man zu Fuß erreichen. Wir haben auch die Valley of the rocks Wanderung und die Watersmeet Wanderung zu Fuß vom Hotel aus gemacht. Die Gegend war trotz August Hochsaison nicht überlaufen und wir hatten 3 wunderbare Nächte/2 Tage vor Ort. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, hat uns Tipps gegeben und es wurde auch immer aufmerksam gefragt ob wir noch was brauchen auf dem Zimmer, zB Kaffee, Kekse, Klopapier, Handtücher.... Haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt, und wir können es sehr empfehlen.
