Guest Reviews
- Anja (9/5): - Sehr sauber, mega freundlich
- Serena (9/5): We had a really enjoyable stay with everything we needed - Loved the bungalow room which we upgraded to. Spacious room and bathroom. Super clean, really friendly staff and beautiful garden. Area was a bit noisy. A lot of dogs barking at night time. Not the hotels fault but it is factor.
- Laszlo (10/5): Csodálatos környezet, mosolygós személyzet! - Az elgelyezkedés. Nem volt.
- Didier (9/5): Very charming locally run hotel - Local family run hotel.
You get a “village feel” as you bump into hotel staff while walking in the village.
Staff is all committed to make our stay enjoyable.
Amazing views from the terrace and great snorkeling just in front of the hotel. NA
- Susan (10/5): This is our second visit and we will be back! - The staff is amazing and they look after your every need. The property is clean and tropical and the reef right off the beach is healthy and beautiful.
- Sophie (5/5): Ambiance glaciale…
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful beach bungalow, amazing staff, and total relaxation — highly recommended - We stayed at Palm Garden Resort & Spa in Amed, Bali, and absolutely loved our experience. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating — we felt genuinely well looked after throughout our stay.
We chose a beach bungalow, and being right on the beach was amazing. The bungalow came with its own private pool, and there was also a lovely main pool to enjoy. The whole setting was peaceful, relaxing, and beautifully maintained.
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from if you have it included. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served with a smile.
We travelled during a quieter period and practically had the entire resort to ourselves, which made the stay feel even more special. Palm Garden Resort & Spa is a charming, small property with a great atmosphere and stunning beachfront views.
Highly recommended, and we would happily stay here again.
- Kseniia Rotter (10/5): - Everything
- Garry (10/5): Beautiful private resort with modern clean rooms and cafe. - Well laid out resort and good sized rooms.
Never busy or crowded.
Clean rooms
Beach access- direct from the property
On site clean cafe/restaurant This time staff were not as friendly or helpful, maybe because last time I stayed there the owners were there too and could see the staff interacting with guests.
- Rosemary (8/5): - Lovely position. Spacious rooms Being close to the village was nice however it was noisy
- Jenkins (8/5): - Resort was on the beach with pretty gardens and good food. Room was very small and no comfortable chairs or sun lounge on our terrace. Also very noisy as road was so close.
- Manisha (8/5): It was plesent but bit far from Amed. - Staff was friendly and hard working. they kept the whole property clean. Spa was really good. We tried four hand massage and it was superb. loved it. if you come here must try. staff gave me medicine for Bali belly and she was very friendly. thank you. too much noise from farm animals and surroundings. they only provide small plastic bottle for drinking per person. it can be bit more water in eco friendly way.
- Fabian (9/5): Supi - AlleS Nichts
- Elaine (9/5): -
- Yusuf (10/5): - This was a very nice hotel but a bit far from the main Amed areas. If you have a car, definitely recommend the hotel. Best coral before the hotel. The staff was very nice and hotel is clean. The price is a bit off scale for the region that is why possibly there were more staff than customers. The breakfast can be better. Kitchen staff is very skilled.
- Egbert (6/5): Nice location disappointing service - Nice view on the beach! Pool was nice. Good clean room and bathroom. Juices were super good. Service was not great unfortunately. Breakfast was not so good. Bed was not very comfortable.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (8/5): Very good - Quiet relaxing hotel, beatiful grounds, great pool, beautiful staff
- Yang (5/5): Passable -
- Jean (2/5): noise and food !!! poison - I had dinner and food poison !!! I was thick all night . a bit noisy at 5 am with fisherman
- Dodo (7/5): Good -
- Joseph (10/5): - This is an area of Bali further away from the city. You can still see other tourists wondering, the area is good for diving and exploring.
There are restaurants nearby, but no big brands and no Gojek/Grab food delivery. I am a picky eater but I still enjoyed the food at the villa.
The staff is friendly and attentive. They seem to appreciate your business. The villa also does motorbike rentals.
For bugs, they provide anti-mosquito wicks. I did not get any mosquito bites. There were some caterpillars, but they are harmless.
Overall, I would visit this villa again.
- Simon (10/5): Exceeded our expectations. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. - The staff were very friendly.
Beautiful coral reef right in front of hotel perfect for snorkelling.
Room clean and comfortable.
Good massages in the hotel.
Food was great. Nothing.
- Yu (6/5): Clean and pristine hotel. Just don’t do laundry or bring your kid. - Clean rooms and food. Absolutely pristine gardens and facilities. On site activities and massage which were reasonably priced. Staff was exceptional, knowledgeable and reactive. They also clearly explained the comings and goings of the hotel and surroundings. I did an emergency laundry and it cost me a whopping $124. While I expect to pay inflated prices at hotels for this service, this felt a little exorbitant. The staff did show me the price list and mentioned there was a per kilo laundromat next door, but given it was a 2 day layover, I knowingly and willingly paid but just a side note for travellers, just avoid this service. All other activities were however very reasonably priced. It’s also a couples only resort (no kids below 13) so do check prior to booking. Staff very nicely made an exception for my 7yo but it’s by no means a kids friendly place and is advertised as that.
- Jeff (7/5): Nicely built place and breakfast is good, but not a perfect location - Lovely clean room, nice pool with the room. Outdoor toilet full of mosquitoes. Noisy neighbours upstairs. Beach is dirty and not able to be used in any way due to that and absolutely crammed with fishing boats. Very rushed feeling on check out day with the cleaner, literally, sat on the step outside waiting for us to go so he could come in!!
- Bramasta (7/5): Clean and quiet place - Clean room - Overpriced spa price
- Unfair treatment about extra breakfast. I paid for 4 persons package and initially only came 3 of us. However having an extra friend for breakfast was still treated as extra to pay for breakfast. And the breakfast price was not charged as bundle (but a la carte item per item, without clear explanation). So we ended up paying over 272K for just an extra person breakfast. I think it’s unfair.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Bali at its best. Lovely villa located in stunning colourful gardens next to the beach. The beach has an amazing coral garden with fantastic tropical fish to see when snorkelling. The restaurant serves a wide range of tasty fresh dishes and drinks including lots of cocktails, wine and spirits. We are enjoying our stay so much we have extended by two nights. All the staff are friendly and helpful and the spa massages are devine. Very relaxing.
- Debbie (9/5): Very relaxing watching the boats come and go - Beautiful grounds Nothing
- Sven (10/5): Love to come back asap - Outstanding Location in Amed. Almost Perfect. Spacious Rooms. Great Bathroom. Nice Pool Area. Reef in front of the Hotel.
Great Stuff, Great Service. Some Restaurants in Walking Distance. Hotel can arrange various daytrips by car, boat.
Scooterrental on Site.
Food and Beverage are priced very fair.
Perfect place for relaxing. No Mosquito Net for the Bed.
- Susan (10/5): It was the best vacation we have both had and we have traveled extensively. - The property and staff were fantastic. We were so well taken care of. You do get used to the roosters. We were given ear plugs and we used them the first night but got used to them the rest of the week. I miss hearing them now that we are home.
- Ana (8/5): Lovely hotel with pool; but no true beach-front 😔 - Lovely rooms and the pool and in-house facilities where simple but beautifully decorated; the staff is super nice. The beachfront is partially true. The Beach is public and all the boats park there, so you can never actually enjoy the beach there; they don’t even offer sun-beds (it’s more a beach parking lot)
- EDOUARD (2/5): Avoid it! - Avoir this place at all cost!! Noisy, disgusting, food is bad and the personnel are very not welcoming. Overall, amed doesnt worth it. Its dirty and the sand is BLACK!
- Adam (8/5): A little too expensive - Beautiful location and the staff is very nice Rooms are ok, not great value
- Federica (9/5): Small paradise - Stunning place, incredibly well kept and very clean.
The staff is superb, everyone was extra kind and went the extra mile. We depart at 4 in the morning and they provide us with a breakfast box in advance.
The food at the restaurant is impressive, seriously good. If sensitive with noise could be good not to be close to the room toward the street.
- Gil (8/5): Very good -
- Leisa (9/5): Superb - Beautiful resort and gardens. Room and pool was amazing, with all needed. Right on the beach Little noisy, but the location and overall resort more than made up for it
- Teresa (6/5): - The grounds were beautifully kept and rooms were modern and comfortable. We had standard cottages- so not much privacy.. . The staff was a bit rude at times and not as eager to make change/serve food/ or help with baggage. The locals are relentless salespeapole on the beach in front of the property. Not private at all. Every time my son and i went to the beach we were constantly pestered with people asking us questions and ultimately trying to sell us something. It was much more assertive and frequesnt than the other beaches in the area we had stayed at previously. The pool was lovely. They add a service charge to everything, so be prepared to pay extra at check out.
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect - It was on the beach and quiet
- nicole (10/5): Beautiful hotel - This was my second stay and like the first it was 100% perfect. Had a beautiful room on the beach with private pool. Will stay again
- Matthias (10/5): Awesome place with outstanding people running it - The location is awesome …. Feels like paradise. We had a nice cottage, the best thing was the outside bath which was breathtaking. That we only stayed for one night
- Ruby (10/5): - Fantastic stay, lovely quiet property. Friendly staff, excellent restaurant and spa.
- David (10/5): - A real idyll, really enjoyed. Beautiful room, lovely staff and food.
- Jodie (9/5): Lovely place for a relaxing peaceful stay - Lovely property right on the beach.
The gardens and setting were very well manicured and cared for. We had the second storey room overlooking the ocean. Lovely waking up to the sunrise over the ocean Roosters next door had us awake at 4.30 am
- Subal (9/5): Superb -
- Linzi (10/5): Three nights. - I loved this everything about this hotel. It was a little bit of luxury. Our room was spacious and beautiful with a view of the jukungs on the beach. Just fab! The grounds are immaculately kept. It was just very serene. The breakfasts were generous and the staff were lovely. Everything was good.
- Subal (9/5): Superb -
- Subal (9/5): Superb - Beachfront View Breakfast
- Maree (10/5): Beautiful place but food not up to scratch - We loved th accommodation, we love food but it does not come up to standard vry disappointing . We ventured out to many other restaurants which had great food and half the price don’t mind paying extra money as long as food is worth it. The food needs to be a lot better it does not match the beautiful accommodation and staff need to interact more.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was ok.
Beach was as it was written : commun Beach, full of fishermans boat. No Problem for me.
Snorkeling was better as in Lipah snorkeling place!
- Eleanor (9/5): A very enjoyable stay in a small boutique resort - Breakfast was lovely and the gardens were beautifully maintained. Lack of water pressure and no hot water in the upstairs room.
- Carsten (10/5): - Fantastic place very good quality only downside are the bad roads and lack of proper transportstion
- Thomas (10/5): Luxurious accommodation, exquisite freshly prepared food, extremely friendly and attentive staff, dedicated owners with - The authentic Balinese inspired villas with stylish open bathrooms, pristine pool, restaurant and nature landscape speak of a well managed architectural understanding of local culture and spirit. The location is right at the beach and traditional fishing can be observed daily when the boats return from their trip with nets full of mackerels. We bought some direct from the fisherfolks and the restaurant staff fried them for our breakfast. Right in front of the property is a shallow reef with almost 100% coral cover. They provide living space for a high diversity of reef fish species. We spotted lots of damsels, surgeonfish, fusiliers, anthias, angelfish, pairs of butterfly fish, needle fish, puffer fish, triggerfish of all sizes, squid, stingrays, turtles and even nurse sharks. Particularly for children it’s s perfect snorkeling site since the reefs are at a shallow depth of 1-2m depending on the tides. Water temperatures are at 29-30 degrees Celsius which are quite comfortable without wetsuit. However, a t-shirt against sun radiation is strongly recommended. A few guests have mentioned that they feel slightly disturbed by the fisherfolk’s activity in the morning. We can not support this since it’s a first hand experience of local life and culture. In fact, we enjoyed the hustle and bustle immensely and felt being immersed in village life close to our luxurious villa.
- Puspa (10/5): wonderful - beach Nothing
- Fredetwendy (10/5): Exceptional - The Staff is fantastic and the resort wonderfull. Congratulation!
- Luca (9/5): Peaceful and relaxing stay with a great sea view room - We choose the sea view room at the first floor: great terrace overlooking the beach with a privileged position to watch the fishing boats activities. Comfortable bed and open air restroom.
The hotel has a nice pool and manicured colorful gardens. Nice smiling staff. Very peaceful and relaxing. Everything great. Maybe our terrace could be completed with two sunbeds as the other rooms.
- Amanda (8/5): Amazing, serene, we will be back! - The location was magical, watching the fishermen return every morning with their catch was fantastic. We swam with turtles and hand fed tropical fish, amazing coral and clear waters. The staff were wonderful, the local people friendly
We loved it. Oh, and the massages and facials were divine! We loved it all
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic - Palm garden was great! Rooms were clean and cleaned daily with great care! Internet worked great. Food was absolutely amazing! The staff are so welcoming and friendly and it’s fun to watch the baits come in and out in the morning!
- Lauren (8/5): Very good - The location facing the ocean is great. The breakfast was also very good. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly. There was no hot water in the shower.
- Wojciech (6/5): Good hotel if you like to wake up at 5am - View from hotel to the sea was nice -Breakfast were horrible
-It was so loud in the morning because of boats that we couldn't sleep
- Caroline (9/5): Lovely but a bit overpriced - Facilities here are gorgeous and you're in such a great spot next to the beach you can snorkel from. Room was super clean and nicely put together. Staff were lovely, pretty protective over the guests and resort which was nice (although can come across as an attack if they think you're a stranger which they did to me on the first night). Food was super, pool is wonderful... lovely lovely spot. I would come back. Its expensive, overly so. Its a really lovely place, but is overpriced for what it is. I also requested a pick up from 1.5 metres down the road expecting it to be an easy ask so i could move my bags, and I got very robotic answers saying it would cost 160K and there was no budge. My lovely hotel i was coming from (Hidden Paradise Cottages - slightly less upmarket but also great spot) took my bags for me without a fuss. So the problem solving attitude could be worked on!
- Darren (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): - We were at Palm Garden for one night on our way around the island and wish we had stayed longer! The room was beautiful and clean with a wonderful view of the beach (especially the sunrise!) The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Connellan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely staff, good food at the restaurant and very generous and yummy breakfast. Gave us an upgrade to a sea front room. Beautiful pool and immaculate grounds. Peaceful bird song in the morning and no issues with noise from the road or rosters during our stay. Felt sick from the diesel motor fon the boat ride to the coral garden but that is not the fault of the hotel. Very expensive laundry!
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful resort at the quiet end of Amed. We would book again, - Probably the best room in the resort. We had the room right in front of the beach. Very comfy bed. Fabulous view of the boats in front. The boats left really early in the morning but we didn't hear them. It was quite spectacular to watch them all come in at about 9:30 am. We went up the hill and had a juice in the morning to watch them come in and then back again in the evening for a beer to watch sunset. The resort is situated near the end of Amed so it is very quiet and clean. The restaurant was excellent. Lots of choices. No complaints.
- Jody (9/5): recommend a visit…remember your snorkel or hire one! - the property is perfect! so clean , perfectly manicured…no mould ( difficult in rainy season) …we had a beachfront villa so listened to the gentle waves as we slept…..it’s a fishing beach which we loved watching the locals prepare for their catch and return…very traditional . amend is very cute with a lovely vibe….based around diving mostly and healthy lifestyle..I plan to return in dry season and just hang out for a week or so…
the food and drinks in the restaurant are really well priced ( unlike many other places) … swimming pool ( s) are so clean..a dream to swim in… water quality throughout the resort is filtered…. a lot of love and care is visible :-) it was perfect …even the free roaming roosters on the beach,…the occasional baby pig…it’s real!
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hendri (8/5): Very good - Clean Low pressure water at bath and toilet
Not private beach
- Russ (10/5): Exceptional - Best small resort in Bali Very quiet
- Kane (8/5): tend to be restricted to staying in the villa as transport options limited. - really good - best villa we’ve ever stayed in nothing
- 0nica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmed (5/5): Passable - Only staff Location is very bad
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Christina (7/5): Not worth the price. - The rooms are spacious, nice, clean and right next to the beach from where you can go out snorkeling.
The fishermen go out early in the morning and come back during the morning with their boats, which is noisy, the departure at 4 o’clock we never heard and never woke up because of that.
The food was very good.
To get there from Sanur we arranged a transport by Amed Bali Adventure, which we can highly recommend, a transport organized by the hotel is way too expensive. The decoration in general is very loveless and not in a balinese way at all. It all feels not very authentic, this hotel area could be anywhere in the world…
For the WLAN you always have to retipe the username and password after coming back to the hotel or switch off your phone, which is very annoying.
The staff was sometimes inattentive and sometimes quite brisk, also not what we experienced around indonesia so far.
Without a scooter the hotel is far away from the „center“, but you can get around easily by taxi.

- Monika (9/5): Lovely location and staff. Very relaxing environment! - The location is great! And the staff were very accommodating to our needs. They were able to organise scooter hire and snorkelling equipment without us needing to lift a finger. Great service. The only thing would have to be our shower. There was no pressure which made it hard to enjoy while being outside. It was quite windy, so a nice working shower would have been good. Otherwise, everything else was great!
- Ralf (8/5): Very good - We had to upgrade to get a room with a better view. No phone reception (using two different carriers), Far to go anywhere, need taxi for pretty much any excursion. Not recommend if you like walks.
- Francesco (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (9/5): lovely staff - very quiet area - super helpful staff. opened up the kitchen for dinner even though we were the only ones there and it was delicious.
breakfast was excellent- my husband declared the best banana pancakes he had in Bali!
easy to arrange transport to go diving which was our main reason for being here. the diving was incredible. reef snorkelling just off shore at the beach to the right also very good. the room was a little dark and dated, it would take only a few small updates to make it pretty.
we were awake most the night because of barking dogs.
I think we were only one of 3 couples staying here so it was super quiet. the whole village was very quiet and we struggled for anywhere to eat in walking distance. we tried to walk from the hotel after sunset in dark and were met by barking dogs and almost deserted streets, it was a bit scary so we just stayed at the hotel to eat which was actually delicious but of course no atmosphere as we were the only ones. this isn’t the hotels fault of course, just to be aware of it’s a super quiet area, if that’s what you’re looking for then great!
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - The beach front rooms are stunningly beautiful. Loved the view from the room.
- Anonymous (10/5): absolutely magnificent! - The location was stunning, it was super clean. The landscaping was beautiful. nothing
- Silya (9/5): Very Nice garden and food! - Very nice view and so good food! we liker the breakfast very much:) it was noisy in the evening… so it was not good place to relax on the evenings…
far away from the city. Not good scooters to rent at the Hotel, very old! if you want to rent scooter you can go another place near the Hotel.
Sehr gutes Essen.
