- Soneika (6/5): - The ocean was very clean and staff was friendly, but the cottages are a bit on the rustic, older side, and need maintenance
- Ian (6/5): - The gardens and beach access are 10/10. The contract that you sign on entering states that the grill where you can buy food is open until 7:00 pm at 5:00 pm when we tried to order food, they told us they were closed. The literature states that they open quite early in the morning. When we went down at 10:00 am, they told us they would not be open before 12. At 10:00 am there were staff cleaning up plates, cutlery, and plastic bottles from the day before. The food/grill operation has no pride and lacks customer service. We had an issue with the key and the door to our apartment. Thankfully, there was someone on duty who helped us move rooms, and was helpful as was the security on the gate, both did a great job. Frenchman's cove is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms and the building are a little tired, with a number of small issues with taps, door handles, railings that got stuck. The operational staff were all helpful and friendly. The grill operation on the beach was not so much unfriendly, non-cooperative, and really not that caring about their environment, other than to make a few cosmetic fixes after guests had already arrived on the beach from the day before' s litter.

- Morgan (6/5): - It was a good experience. This property had lots of potential and we are glad we went. However, we knew to expect a less updated version of what it used to be . The villa definitely needs some upgrading. The faucet in the kitchen barely had any water and the whole property needed a good power wash on the outside. The views were amazing but there was lots of overgrown greenery. The privacy was priceless and it was wonderful to have the beach to ourselves in the morning. I was on the understanding that they have been renovatong for a while, but the property doesnot reflect it. Once renovations are actually done we would gladly return. The place has a special magic that we truly appreciated.
- Franciene (2/5): - Please read this review before booking. The grounds & beach are AMAZING! 10/10 absolutely recommend! The accommodations on the other hand are TERRIBLE! 0/10 do not recommend. I booked the property for the grounds and proximity to the beach. I understand that the villas are rustic but they did NOT provide a basic standard of clean for my stay. If you have respiratory conditions, do NOT book here. They villas are not deep cleaned nor aired out. Customer service is also nonexistent. I expressed my concerns about the cleanliness and they didn’t even attempt to have someone come to clean it. Book another property and pay the entrance fee to access the beach.

- Christopher (10/5): - This place has certainly gone down hill like a horror movie from the 70s scene dated furniture blood on curtain splatters from misquote swatting along with greece stains the bathroom had rusty facutes with missing cover plates oxidation on the door handles bathroom mixed matched tiles. Great location but this place needs a serious overall bottom line.For a big property like this it should have more amenities such as a pool and decent restaurant
- JADIVE (4/5): - I loved the beach. When I booked this property I asked Rashida for RECENT PICTURES, she responded via WhatsApp that the pictures on the website were the pictures of the rooms. We landed at Norman Manley at 12:30pm, picked up our rental car by 1:30pm and was on our way to Frenchmens Cove. We did not arrive until 8:30pm. It is a good idea to inform your guests that major construction is in progress and so do not drive the St. Thomas route. Upon arrival the Security handed us an envelope with a key and we proceeded to the room, unit 14. We could not believe how dated and unclean the place looked. In the envelope was a document which stated that we should take our toiletries, no food would be served, etc...Great time to tell your guests upon arrival. I appreciate the two tiny bar soaps and towel we received. Only two of the towels could be used, the white towels, face rag and shower rags were stained. There was no attempt to replace the towels or clean the room for the duration of our stay. We paid a premium cost for a very poor quality accommodation with no service. We had every opportunity to book elsewhere and visit the beach if we wished. We choose to book with Frenchman's cove because the Website suggested that the amenities were good. Certainly not a good value for money. We are very easy to please, not a prima dona at all but the room made us very uncomfortable.

I believe for the price I paid the least there could have been is coffee in the room. You give a full kitchen with no plates, glasses or mugs. Kitchen is kind of pointless. I was quite disappointed with the experience considering it was quite expensive.

Leider gibt es kein Frühstück erst am Mittag die super Möglichkeit zum Lunch. Man sollte also etwas mitnehmen um es in der gut funktionierenden Küche selber zu bereiten zu können. Alles funktioniert sehr gut. Die quasi originale Inneneinrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber besser so, als es zu zerstören. Ich hoffe es bleibt so erhalten!!! Einfach fantastisch!

I booked 2 villas for 3 nights., Whereas the grounds was very nice and well kept with the natural vegetation and flora … the villas were not well kept. Some of the furniture were so old.. the bathroom lighting was horrible. The Villa had a lot of cracks and spaces in the wood ceilings and windows. As a result, a lot of insects came in. The worst part of my stay however was getting up to rodent droppings all over the kitchen sink… microwave, fridge area and loud sounds of croaking lizards…. The management was kind enough to refund a nights stay but our experience was already damaged and we just could not enjoy even the last night. We Were very disappointed !!

The beds and seating area was not comfortable. The villa was away from everything and you would have a very long walk or you have to drive to get to the beach or the office. There was no one on the property after 5:30 to help. There was no working number to call and get to anyone in customer service. It was just terrible!!!

- André (4/5): Decadence avec Elegance - O hotel está localizado num berço de natureza exuberante e preservada. É o único meio de acesso a uma das mais bonitas praias que visitei na Jamaica, a Frenchman's Cove. O hotel que já viveu seus dias de glória no passado - A rainha Elisabeth e os Beatles se hospedaram ali no milênio passado - hoje vive, o que aparenta ser, seus últimos dias/semanas/meses de funcionamento. Não há serviço algum disponível aos hóspedes, nem mesmo a arrumação dos quartos, em 3 dias de estadia ninguém apareceu nem pra dar uma varrida. O café da manhã prometido no momento da reserva pelo site da Hotels.com não existe na realidade. Nos fizeram assinar um termo no check-in que constava, lá no meio daquele monte de texto, que nenhum serviço de café da manhã seria disponibilizado. Foi horrível para nós, pois nas redondezas do hotel não havia comércio algum. A única coisa que funciona ali é a segurança no portão do hotel por 24 horas e uma lanchonete, localizada na praia, até as 17 horas . A recepção não funciona de 7 às 20 horas como indicado, mas por volta das 8:30 às 18 horas, mas depende do dia também. Os jardins e a praia são muito limpos e preservados, porém a estrutura do hotel em si está ruindo. É uma pena que a maioria das praias jamaicanas sejam privadas. O hotel Frenchman's cove, se continuar com essa péssima prestação de serviço e estrutura caindo aos pedaços, provavelmente será fechado e a praia não será mais acessível. Foi o hotel mais caro que ficamos ao redor da Jamaica, e o pior.
- Celina (6/5): - The beach was amazing but the property was very deserted. Maybe because of Covid. But there was nothing. No breakfast, no dinner. Only the Lunch at the small beach restaurant. I would recommend a daytrip to the Frenchman’s cove beach but not to stay at the resort.
- Abby (2/5): - The A/C isn't working, the fan can’t regulate speed, the kettle doesn't work, the glass sliding door of the balcony won’t lock, plus there is NO telephone can calling customer service and NO television, I feel like I've gone back half a century, even there is strange smelling from bathroom at night, a smell of decay. HERE IS THE POINT, 2 people only in one room, you have to book 2 rooms if you have a little kid in your family, their manager said “I don’t care about how does your 3 people family to stay, kid stays with Mom or Dad or alone, anyway you have to separate in to 2 different rooms.”this is a strange idea that I have never heard before. And they have a false message: the price include breakfast. Unfortunately, there is NO any breakfast, bring something to eat with you or you will start new day with hungry.

- Aurelie (2/5): - Nous avons payé une chambre double 125e, à ce prix nous avons eu une chambre insalubre, des cafards dans la salle de bain, des serviettes déchirées, les toilettes étaient mal fixés au sol et dégoûtants. Les lampes de chevet déchirées et sales, la porte fenêtre devait se fermer avec un bâton de bois bref ... hallucinant pour le prix. Le petit dej était correct, le personnel également. On notera un manque de poubelles à proximité de la plage pas mal de détritus et des cafards sur la plage. Par contre le service client n’a rien fait pour nous. On nous a demandé d’écrire un mail et nous n’avons jamais eu de réponse. La plage était vraiment très belle.
- Sagine (4/5): Horrible, Unsanitary and Outdated Rooms - Bathrooms are extremely outdated. The toilets were running the entire time. Broken tiles. The towels had some odor. There were a lot of bugs in the room. The breakfast is a joke. The front desk person was not there in the morning and the guard didn't know what time she would be arriving. The only thing i I enjoyed was the beach. They need to update the rooms.

The sounds in an eco-system that is rather untouched/unaltered. Exceptional. The hotel however, I was disappointed with. The breakfast offered rather few options (boiled eggs, toast, jam and fruits each morning), but that was ok. The worst was the water quality: terrible! The water from the dispenser smelled like rotten eggs. And when I opened the kettle in the cafeteria, it had clumps of food in it. My room was fine given that I didn't spend much time in it, but no little refrigerator, kettle, of hairdryer.

Hard to sleep when the air conditioning won't cool. Staff is apathetic and slow. No amenities. Nothing works, nobody cares. Isolated. We booked two days, barely stayed 12 hours before we high-tailed it out of there. Pathetic.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Insgesamt ist es eine wunderschöne Anlage, großzügig angelegte Parkanlage! Jede Villa steht für sich, so hat man keine unmittelbaren Nachbarn! Unsere Villa war sehr geräumig, alles da, was man braucht! Jedoch lässt der bauliche Zustand zu wünschen übrig! Hier besteht unbedingt Handlungsbedarf! Die Schiebetüren lassen sich nur mit erheblichem Kraftaufwand bewegen, das Warmwasser am Waschbecken im Bad lief nur tröpfchenweise und auf der Terrasse hätten wir uns bequemere Möbel gewünscht! In der Villa liefen uns mehrfach Kakerlaken über den Weg! Das Personal am Strand und der Strandbar ist sehr mit sich und ihren Mobiltelefonen beschäftigt! Der Strand könnte aufgeräumter sein (geharkt wird nicht)! So liegen schon morgens an diesem wunderschönen Strand u. a. Flaschen, Flaschenverschlüsse und Früchte (Nüsse) von den Bäumen herum!
- ALEXIA (6/5): - We stayed at a one bedrom villa for three nights. It was beautifull, clean and spacious. The whole place is really beautifull with a private beach and a river falling into the sea! But the villas have no internet access nor 3G by Digitel, as hot spots only worked at reception area and sometimes at the Great House. Also the window doors were very old and locking them was very difficult and took several minutes. Drawers were falling off as well as kitchenette's cupboards. Although the place was run down the service was helpfull and overall we enjoyed our stay.

- Joseph (2/5): 3 Star Resort this is not! - Expedia bills this resort as 3 stars! We booked based on the Expedia rating. This is the worst resort/hotel we have ever visited. We booked 2 nights and were charged in full at check in. Our room was dingy and dirty with no TV and there was NO HOT WATER at all to the room. The balcony was very dingy with only one old chair. We were the only room occupied in the large main building and were the only 2 guests for a very spartan breakfast. There is no phone in the room to call the office, very dark outside, raining and too far to walk to office to complain. We left as early as possible the morning after our first night, by taxi, there was no manager available to speak with and we asked for full refund via the front desk clerk, we did not hear from anyone from the hotel although we left our mobile number and email and our credit card was charged in full!

- Margaret (6/5): - Spacious grounds and villas. Great breakfast at resort, but bar and restaurant at beach unpredictable (maybe independent of resort). Stayed in #14, air unit old and dripped on bed, shower weak,
- Verified traveler (2/5): WARNING - WARNING You will pay about $ 138 a night for very limited wifi, no TV, and NO HOT WATER. Not even warm water! I complained repeatedly, and finally just gave up! You should stay at one of the nearby guest houses (with hot water) for about $50 a night.
- Kerida (8/5): Basic but naturally beautiful - Staff are friendly and willing to please. We are vegetarians and the restaurant staff were happy to cook special meals for us. The original cottages that were booked were far apart and the staff helped to change the cottages so our family could be close together. Its nice when staff can customize to make a happy vacation.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Aged huge resort - The Place is relaxing with beautiful beach. The beach is 10min on foot from the room, beach access is free, the service are expensive. The room is orribile. Old forniture from '30s, not clean, noisey air condizione. WiFi dosn't work in the room
