- Tracy (10/5): Tranquil escape - Absolutely beautiful hotel. We were luckily upgraded to a suite which had a lovely balcony overlooking the breathtaking gardens and private beach. Blankets were provided. Huge, comfortable double bed. Lovely toiletries. Had and excellent evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff. Partner had a massage in the spa which added to his relaxing experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

- Santiago (6/5): This is a management issue - Beautiful site with terrible service. The staff that we got to talk to were really nice, but most of the time impossible to find. No housekeeping during our stay and if we needed anything there was no way to reach anyone. The pipes in my room creaked the whole night and no one did anything to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, even after I raised it repeatedly. The place is breathtaking, but it feels like the management doesn't care about the guests.

- Ella (8/5): Would choose Hotel Meudon again - There wasn’t a bath as advertised in the Hotel.com room description - I booked the hotel mainly because it had a bath in the bathroom as we don’t have one at home & was looking forward to a lovely bath after a long drive. After I explained my disappointment & also my reticence to move rooms after the first night in order to get a bath for the second night, the lovely Hotel Receptionists went out of their way to get another room ready for us which had a bath where we could stay for both nights of our stay. Very happy with this service & made a wonderful base for our Cornish Seal Sanctuary trip for me and my daughter. The restaurant has lovely view of gardens, feels elegant & food was delicious & high quality - they catered for my 11 year old daughter having something a bit more plain from the menu & friendly staff. Wouldn’t say it’s a good hotel for little children though. Gardens are wild and tropical and the giant gunnera are amazing - you feel like you’re in Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Not for the mobility impaired the walk down to the beach. But it’s not a long walk. The beach - when we were there it was unseasonably windy so we couldn’t swim but it’s great that the beach is right there. And sure it’s lovely to get hot chocolate or pizzas from their Bream Box down there open 12-4. Authentic Cornish experience for us. Loved it.

- Luisa Raquel (6/5): - The property itself is beautiful, not much to do in the hotel itself. The dog had no extras included, staff were quite quick and not easy to find. No draft beer, bar only opened after 6pm so getting a drink was not easy. I didn’t use the dining facilities as dogs were only able to book in advance and I was unhappy with the level of service I received in general. The hotel was lovely to stay in for a couple of nights to relax and enjoy the gardens, I would recommend having a means of transport if you want to explore elsewhere.

- Kevin (8/5): Beautiful setting - The hotel grounds are gorgeous with lovely paths to a sandy beach through tropical valleys that are full of hydrangeas and montbretias. Staff were incredibly friendly and dogs are not just welcome but liked. We had a room in the old part of the hotel which was comfortable with a smart new bathroom although the bedroom decor was a bit seventies. Dining in the garden at the Saturday night BBQ was great.

The gardens are superb and the walk to the secluded beach with the offer of a lift back if needed. Truly dog friendly and as much attention paid to Woody as it was to us. - Jacqueline (8/5): A Great Place to Escape - The hotel is a hidden gem. It’s a great place to escape. The gardens are lush and beautiful, and the beach at Bream cove completes the picture. The Bream shack is so cute, great pizzas and welcoming, friendly staff member operating it. The room was hot at night, but we stayed during a heatwave ( there was a fan to assist). Sometimes service was slow but we discovered this was due to unexpected absences. Staff were generally efficient and friendly. There are plenty of lovely walks in the area. We walked to Maenporth beach along SW coast path. The hotel is dog friendly, providing a bed, bowls and towel. We all had a great time.

Dinner service the one night we ate there was extremely slow, but I suspect there was an issue in the kitchen that day and that was not the norm. We spent 2 nights there and I could have easily stayed longer! Thank you.

Seemed like they were operating on a shoe string to close down. No one offered to help with our bags or provide information about how to access our room without stairs.
- Olivia (6/5): Not great, I wouldn’t stay again. - We arrived in the evening around 20:30 and had to wait around 20 mins for someone to arrive at reception to check us in. No sign of any staff anywhere - very odd. We were informed where our room was but nothing else regarding the hotel (dining room/bar/breakfast area/ luxury additions). We enquired about trying to get something to eat at the hotel but the FOH suggested we go back into Falmouth for some dinner as the kitchen was closed. This was a shame as we had been travelling for a couple of hours after a long working day - it wasn’t particularly late, but we understood. We found the breakfast room the following morning, despite no signs and still no sign of staff generally, we sat and had an alright breakfast at the set time we were given. Later in the day we explored the grounds to find some really gorgeous gardens and a private beach which was truly gorgeous - they’re very lucky to have something as special as that on their doorstop. We decided to stay and have dinner at the restaurant on the Saturday night instead of going into Falmouth for the food festival. The food was generally good - wine list was nice and the staff were very helpful - I think the person serving us was called JJ? Bravo to him - he’s an asset to your team. The following morning unfortunately we were waiting on the stairwell to breakfast for 40mins and didn’t end up getting anything as there were guests leaving the dining room stating that they had been waiting over an hour for an egg…

Alway's clean in all the area's we used and really warm which was needed as it's November, We spent our time walking the SW Coastal Path and visited the local Nature Reserve and TREBAH Gardens which were marvellous

I’d prefer more flexibility on holiday. The gardens are beautiful but access to the beach is not necessary suitable for someone with reduced mobility.

There was a smell of mould in the corridors.Overall liked the location,but won't be returning
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel. - Delightfully situated hotel. Gardens and easy stroll down to beach and coastal path. Room nicely furnished and reasonable size. Modern bathroom. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Reception and breakfast staff friendly and proactive. Only slight downside was car parking - barely sufficient space for all the guests to park - every evening we played 'hunt the space'. But overall a most enjoyable stay.

- Amy (10/5): - We booked to stay here for Monday to Friday, but with the change in weather to give us glorious sunshine on our final day we booked another night. The staff arranged to move all our bags to the new rooms for us, and the whole stay was just relaxed and easy. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept brilliantly. The property is looking a little bit tired in places but this didn’t detract from our stay. There could be more that the hotel could do - the place has been modernised with crisp white bathrooms, but there was no shaver socket in there (you have to ask for a shaver plug), and there is no little light - so you either have the main light on or nothing which isn’t ideal in the middle of the night. The breakfast choices were great, but the indoor terrace where it is served became super hot when the sun caught it, the staff informed us that they were not allowed to close the venetian blinds though, but they did slide open the fire exit for us. There was no air conditioning in the rooms we stayed in so you either have the windows/sliding doors open or not - which isn’t ideal when the balcony the doors open out on to can be accessed from the grounds. Not that I think anything untoward would happen there, it does seem very safe indeed. Parking was easy, but only when there were enough spaces. Without doubt the location was the most amazing feature - just a short stroll to a small beach that very few people go to was excellent. Will we stay again? Absolutely yes.

The walk down to the secluded beach through the gardens is a real treat. The service is wonderful, the food is excellent and all in all it’s a fabulous place to stay and relax.

- NICOLA (6/5): Mixed feelings... - Beautiful location & ideal as we wanted to walk the coast path. Sadly we will not return as too many niggles :( Problems with check in, dinner reservation confusion & check out, the latter being we were overcharged by over £100, although eventually sorted. Food was beautifully presented, staff very pleasant, but for a fine dining experience and re the cost, we felt the restaurant needed some tlc re décor & cleanliness. We both had fish pie which was served with more potatoes & a little bit of spring greens; a bit of a cheap shot. Ate out after that. However, lovely views down the garden at breakfast time & a good menu choice/ buffet to start the day. Bed extremely comfortable & fab' shower, but our wet room was constantly that & with no underfloor heating trips to the loo meant wet feet! If towels were left on the towel rail they got soaked too. This could be an amazing hotel, but we just had the feeling that perhaps staffing was an issue as they all seemed to contradict each other with info' and no one appeared to be taking complete charge? Other guests that we got talking to seemed to have the same opinion. We were disappointed overall with our experience, but hopefully we just caught them at on off time.
- Richard (10/5): Surpassed our expectations - A comprehensive check in process where we were told about all the hotel facilities. The room was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. The best parts of our stay were the warm welcome offered to our dog ( really dog friendly) the wonderful gardens and direct access to the beach, SW Coastal Path and a really good breakfast.

Not happy with the Dinner menu as we phoned ahead several times to ask for clarity on the menu as it changes daily, needed to be sure that there would be a decent Meat option. They could not tell us the menu until 6.30pm and our table was booked for 8pm. Sadly as feared we had to opt for the light bites / bar food menu as only a duck and several fish options were available, such a shame. Had hoped a chicken, Lamb Beef of Pork option would be available. Like I said great staff and very nice venue, but Limited Menu and communication of said menu was a struggle...
- Jon (10/5): - Excellent stay. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the gardens the private beach were really enjoyable. We have an EV and the hotel provides free charging, which is brilliant. We'll certainly be returning and have recommended it to family/friends already.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Meudon is beautiful. - Meudon is a marvellous hotel: comfortable, good design, good service, peaceful, great food, relaxing, beautiful gardens. As I am a native of Cornwall (living in London) and my family lived in Mawnan Smith until 2022 there is natural concern from local people about expansion by hotel groups and property developers with new buildings spoiling the beautiful coastline evidenced by truly dreadful new housing at Swanpool Beach. Why wouldn’t there be justified concern. But we were reassured that this would not be happening with Meudon, despite two planning applications turned down, who would not want to harm the beauty of what they have around them. Let’s hope this is true and the hotel just gets better and better, We were very impressed by the friendly and reassuring staff and with pretty much everything at Meudon Hotel which matters so much as it is an area that has great personal significance to me. It’s brilliant. We look forward to returning soon.

- Nicky (6/5): It could have been a really special place to stay - We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with the blandness of the bedroom furnishing. It could have been any chain hotel and sadly lacked any touches which I had hoped for to make it a special place to stay. However the staff were all lovely, the food nice but no red meat for a main course, the gardens lovely and so nice to have a pretty beach to swim off at the bottom of the grounds.

- Henry (8/5): - Overall really like the Hotel Meudon and we had a pleasant 1 night stay. Staff were excellent and location is lovely. I didn’t receive a bottle of wine in my room and I was the one who paid for both hotel rooms, but I guess we were upgraded to the suite. We felt that a regular room booked with a balcony for my in-laws was actually better than the suite, as the suite was just a bit bland in terms of decoration/ character. Outside, I slashed my knee on some loose slates on top of a wall in the garden area - no biggie but slates should be removed. A big no no for me in any hotel is when they tell you that this is a no-smoking hotel - I’ve paid a lot of money so I don’t think you have the right to tell me where I can and cannot smoke. Overall, for these reasons it drops down slightly to a 4* hotel but it isn’t too far off the 5*, just needs to get rid of stupid rules and unnecessary hazards in the garden.
- Pamela (8/5): birthday celebration - We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room by a very friendly member of staff. We had booked a superior room with sea view and balcony. The view can only be described as sea glimpses, because it is a 15 minute walk down a track to the shingle beach and through a forest of trees and shrubs. It would have been useful to have a brochure in the room about the history of the older part of the hotel because it is an interesting building rather than having to ask the staff. Our in room safe was not working and once locked could not be opened again, this was inconvenient. Our bed was very comfortable with excellent crisp white linen. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the toiletries good quality, although for some a non slip bath mat would have been a good addition because there wasn't a grab rail when stepping out of the bath/shower. The table that we were allocated in the restaurant was as we had requested and the dinner and service was excellent by all the restaurant staff. Breakfast next morning was an equally very pleasant experience with all our requests met. I had left 2 messages prior to our arrival regarding our request, but didn't get a confirmation. This would have given peace of mind about my messages being received. After booking a room, I returned to the website only to find that the price had reduced by £30 within the space of one hour. Can someone explain this phenomenon please. Overall a very pleasant stay in a hotel that we would recommend.

- Nick (10/5): Simply breathtaking setting - Quality break away in these strange times. Hotel had great procedures and well felt very safe. The gardens and grounds are amazing with beach access only a 5 minute walk through lush, tropical vegetation. Staff are friendly. I very rarely say that I would stay in the same hotel ads in as I like trying different ones but I would make an exception with this one. Truly an exceptional break.

The quality of the food was good, but the cooking and presentation was disappointing. No love of cooking in evidence. Breakfasts were partcularly underwhelming and nobody seemed to care. Staff interests lay in discussing their own private lives.

The staff were friendly and personable. Out of our party of 5 people, we all commented on the comfortable beds and excellent showers. The complimentary Meudon Hotel fudge was delicious and much appreciated! Of course what really sets this hotel apart from the rest is it’s fabulous location: we enjoyed a beautiful walk down through the lush gardens to the private beach which has sand, rock pools and an amazing view across the bay. None of us wanted to leave: all of us plan to return. It was an absolute delight to stay at this lovely hotel. Thank you for such a memorable and enjoyable stay.
