Guest Reviews
- Kara (7/5): Lovely hotel with some improvements to service. - The rooms are beautiful and well designed. It feels like a luxury hotel. The first person at the front desk was very nice. However, the staff at the rooftop bar were rude and the service was terrible.
If you give guests free drink vouchers, trust that they will tip and order more food and drinks!
- Paul (8/5): -
- Sasan (10/5): Comfortable stay at a very clean hotel - Very clean and relatively modern hotel, friendly staff who were ready to help all the time, eaay access to key landmarks
- Piergiorgio (9/5): -
- Milica (10/5): Great hotel modern and wonderful staff st front desk - Central location close to all restaurants and Parlament Hill
Rooftop restaurant is amazing Noisy and hsrd to find parking
- Junghee (10/5): best location! - The hotel location was amazing, and the view of Parliament Hill was beautiful. Thank you as well for making our anniversary feel special and for taking such good care of us. The only downside was that parking was not available on site.
- Jean-Francois (8/5): -
- David (5/5): Underwhelming - Nice decor Noise from traffic at night, construction during the day. Infernal
- Terence (8/5): Great hotel and room had a amazing double aspect views over byward market. - We did not have a break fast but had a really good and flavorful evening meal. A good 9 out of 10. Had to request a daily making up the bed daily.
- Lee (4/5): -
- Tonisha (9/5): -
- Jacques (8/5): Boa - Localização Manutenção
- vanny898 (4/5): Not recommended - Honestly my worst check-in experience. Staff did not allow for early check in (as my room was not ready yet), so I stored my luggage there until it was time for check in, the staff just left my luggage at the front desk while other customers were walking around my luggage. When it was time for check in, there was a line up from the desks to the door which blocked the walkway, as their front desk area is pretty small. Check-in felt rushed due to the line of customers checking in (due to check-in starting at 4PM). So the staff did not explain the charges they were asking us to pay for (which was the charge of the 2nd half of our stay & a deposit per night (FYI there is a $50/day deposit)) which was not explained to us until we checked the credit card charges and questioned them. They provided complimentary wine for the first night of the stay. But at the cost of construction noise that was occurring right beside our room (which was not informed to us until we got in the room & noticed the earplugs). There is a building construction happening right behind the hotel (luckily they don’t work over the weekends, but weekday stays could get frustrating, as the noise is constant and they start pretty early in the morning).
Complimentary bottle of water & chips was a plus. But really the only plus of this stay.
There is NO housekeeping offered. Although there was a note in our room, I requested for housekeeping and received a response “Unfortunately, we can't guarantee the full service at the moment, but we will notify the housekeeping. And we are more than happy to provide fresh towels, amenities, or any essentials you may need, just text us on here. I will request fresh towels, garbage to be clear for you and refill of the mini bar”. So make sure you ask for housekeeping to clear the garbage and change the towels or else it will not be done. I wasn’t expecting them to change my bed sheets or anything daily as all hotels are now all about “helping the planet” but the fact that they didn’t even fix/reorganize the bedsheets or blanket was pretty disappointing. Honestly, would have preferred them touch up on my bed than the complimentary water & chips, as that is what I expect as service from a hotel stay. Requesting for items were done via text message. Response was pretty quick in comparison to other hotels I’ve stayed at.
The ice machine on my floor (6th) didn’t work, so I had to message them to inquire which floor had a working ice machine, on which they answered that I could try the 3rd or 9th floor.
Location is a little ghetto at night, lots of homeless people around the area, and druggies just crossing the street randomly. The Dalhousie street only has 1 lane, so traffic is pretty bad. If hailing an uber or Lyft it could take a bit longer before they arrive to the pick up location (recommend requesting the ride inside the hotel to avoid having to wait too long outdoor). It is in very close proximity to the ByWard market, the CF Rideau Centre mall, lots of restaurants & pubs around & walking distance to many attractions (art museum, parliament & royal mint).
The hotel required you to tap your keycard to use the elevator to access floors with rooms, but note that the elevator does allow visitors to access the elevator to go to the rooftop restaurant without tapping the keycard.
I left an AirPod in my room and tried to contact the hotel via email & phone with no response atm.
Honestly I would have expected better service from this hotel, as it was listed as a 4-star luxury hotel. Only luxury I found was the Byredo toiletry that you can use during the stay.
FYI - View from the rooftop is great during sunset.

- Danuta (9/5): Better yhan expected! -
- Valerie (9/5): Overall great hotel, nice and clean. - This was one of the nicest and cleanest hotels we have stayed at. We were there for our son's basketball tournament, and I'm sure we weren't the only team staying there and the hotel was clean at all times. We booked through bookings.com and had breakfast included in the package - which I would highly recommend as we are a family of 4 (I don't eat breakfast - just coffee) and it was $100 😬I think that's a bit steep. We had complimentary chips and water in the room which is always nice. The staff were friendly. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I only have some minor things I didn't like. The pillows were way too soft. I had 2 and felt like I had none. The parking wasn't convenient. They had valet parking but at check in there was no where to park outside the hotel to wait - I called the hotel and they said I had to keep driving around until a spot opened up. We eventually parked ourselves at a public paid lot which was about a block away. The hotel didn't have on site parking so valet had to drive your car to their lot. Just an inconvenience after driving almost 5 hours to get there.
On top of that, if you decided to do valet parking, it's not included in the stay. Which I think hotels are crazy for not including parking or breakfast in your stay. You literally are just sleeping in hotels and they charge crazy amounts and still don't include these minor things. Crazy.
- OutdoorNow (10/5): Great location and great views on the market - Stayed at Andaz for a 50th birthday, and we were extremely pleased with the hotel and room. The view on the market is absolutely stunning! Location is great is you are looking for a night out (pre-diner drinks and fancy dinner in our case). The room was clean had everything we needed and also very quiet. Will definitely go back.

- 291marynab (10/5): Wonderful Stay with Amazing Views - Ideal location for exploring the city, visiting the university, and enjoying a walk downtown. Don’t miss the 15th floor — it’s a great spot to take in the view and relax by the fire on a cool evening. The breakfast was both delicious and beautifully presented, a perfect start to the day. The staff were professional, welcoming, and very friendly.
- Eric (8/5): -
- Sylvain (8/5): - proximité de tout et propreté
- petercK5380OP (10/5): Time to visit - Nice place with nice atmosphere
- Marwa (10/5): It was perfect they even upgraded our room because it was our anniversary - The view was amazing and it’s close to everything
- PeruNoe (8/5): -
- Ivan (9/5): -
- soapyfish (2/5): Room with a View (Building Site) - Room change - outrageous I had to pay for a room that I couldn’t stay in as it was noisy building works starting 7am. When we were in room then the blind had to be fully down for privacy from workers outside. Mgmt sorry but not sorry. We spoke to several check in staff that Ada not issue please move us but even though rooms were available (on Expedia) we were not moved. Birthday trip gone AWOL but who cares - not Andaz Ottawa.
- Janika Kishore (9/5): -
- OnAir171589 (6/5): Good hotel and location but needs better maintenance - Great location and good hotel but needs better maintenance and restoration to be a four+ star hotel. The hotel is worthy of the investment for improved maintenance and I still recommend it but you shouldn't expect a pristine hotel.

- sachieb2014 (4/5): Worst valet service great location - Great location
Room okay
Valet service terrible I ordered my car 30mins in adv and it arrived 20mins later than requested ... What's the point of valet. Better park your own car at the near by parking lot. Don't bother not working playing 50 bucks for this
- Curiosity30013159846 (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel. Great stay. The hotel was better than I expected. The only downside and its not any fault of the hotel and staff is the location of the hotel is surrounded by homeless people. Location is great and close to the parliment. The rooftop lounge upstairs is amazing and has great views of the city.
- R5283ODsophies (10/5): Great stay - Wonderful location and a beautiful hotel. The rooms were big and clean. There was free bottles of water and chips! Bathrooms were clean and modern. Noise level, for the Byward Market, was quiet in the evening. The service and staff were wonderful. Everyone was so friendly. The food at the restaurant was great. I still dream of the pineapple coconut chia pudding I had for breakfast! I would for sure return and recommend.
- Paul (7/5): - Great location staff and facilities I never got room services. So my bed was not done and I didn’t have fresh towels
- 983dianey (10/5): Weekend away in Ottawa. - Location was great. Atmosphere was great.
Rooms very nice. Great view.
Rates very reasonable for the location it us in. Rooms and every area in the hotel very clean. Service was impeccable.
- Jens (8/5): -
- Bellemare (10/5): GÉnial -
- WAFAA (10/5): -
- Campobasso (9/5): Eccellente - Colazione eccellente
Posizione centrale
Staff educato ed efficiente
Bravissima Katerina alla colazione!
- Steven (7/5): - Did the job, comfortable and clean enough, provided what we needed. We paid for a king room with a view, knowing the hotel looks onto the chateau Laurier and city. We got a room at the back looking onto a building site with a crane right in front of the window.
- BERINAME (8/5): We appreciated our stay at the hotel. Next time we will booke the same hotel for the whole family. - The room was clean and delighting. Nothing to mention.
- Bojan (10/5): -

- Isabelle (8/5): -
- Fernanda (8/5): -
- John (8/5): - Staff were very nice Pillows started out well but weren't good by morning.
- Salma (10/5): -
- Clayton (10/5): -
- stephenmQ8835IG (2/5): If you expect a Hyatt experience, do not come here - The hotel has no parking, and the food at the restaurant is not to the Hyatt level. Billing issues with the Valet parking. Understaffed due to the current valet parking, as there is no on-site parking garage. No warning or indication of parking issues during the reservation process. Not coming back here
- Trisha (7/5): - The building was clean, the elevators quick and secure. You needed a room key to use the elevators. The staff was efficient and kind. The shower was huge, and I liked that the toilet was separated (in a frosted glass closet), allowing you to use the toilet while someone was at the sink. We stayed on the 12th floor but could hear people outside like they were standing outside the window. Every night I was woken up by people or music outside. I think the hotel should invest in white noise machines for the rooms. Im not a light sleeper, so if you are, bring something to block the noise. Also, the area that the beds are in is quite small. Only one person can walk at a time. It's doable and would not be something that would keep me from renting a room, but just be aware.
- Mackenzie (10/5): -
- Smart (10/5): Perfect weekend! - Great location, great staff, beautiful views No parking
- SandyJ1313 (10/5): Stay here for a great hotel experience in the heart of Ottawa - Excellent location at Byward Market with all the conveniences and attractions nearby and none of the noise. Beautiful hotel, friendly and professional staff. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that we didn’t want to leave our room!
- Safari800481 (8/5): Spacious updated room with a view - I booked directly on the hotel website. King bed with a view.
Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable. Adequate number of electrical outlets, walk-in closet, digital thermostat, refrigerator, coffee machine, hair dryer, eye makup remover pads, ear plugs, body products, rainfall shower.
The small table with seating for 2 was perfect for morning coffee or a quick bite to eat.
Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Free glass of wine on 16th floor. Easy online checkout.
Cons: Pillows were fluffy but flattened as soon as I put my head down. No bathroom fan.
Although the room looks modern and updated, there was some signs of wear on the table and a few small cracks here and there.
For the price, I still recommend this hotel.

- Sarah (8/5): Good value hotel, comfortable stay in a great location - Great location. We had a corner room with a lovely view. Furniture in room seemed very basic. The lobby, check in and bar area was ok but didn’t seem to have a warm or welcoming vibe, despite great staff.
- Desforges (8/5): -
- ibog153 (10/5): Stylish hotel and very attentive staff. - Perfect location. Rooms are modern and well designed with an eye for detail. Excellent breakfast. Professional and attentive staff from valet to check-out
- Ahuja (6/5): - Staff service Limited food options and menu
- Antonio (6/5): Good hotel but… - Modern, clean, great location No parking on site - even though after booking they send you a message that the only option you have is a pricey valet service.
Breakfast is only a la carte with very limited options and not kid friendly.
- Andy (8/5): -
- OCCandG (10/5): Great location and handsome decor - Fantastic location to walk to many of Ottawa's sites and museums and Rideau Centre. Very clean and well-appointed room; extraordinarily comfy beds. We stayed on the weekend, so the construction site right next door was shut down; however, earplugs are left for guests which is a nice touch.
- Henri (6/5): - The location was perfect. The rooms was amazing, modern, clean. We couldn't sleep at all. We had a room facing the main road and the windows are not soundproof at all. On that night they were removing the snow from the roads from 2am to 5am. We heard everything.
- Olha (10/5): -
- csunwc (9/5): Good location with many restaurants nearby - Exercise room with a great view of the city. Convenient restaurant on the first floor for breakfast. Decent size room. No bathtub unless in a suit.
- Matthew (10/5): Low key, high class. Love this place - Room was well decorated, nice ambient light, walk in closet, nice bathroom. Complimentary snacks was icing on the cake. Really enjoyed my stay! Had no complaints
- yuqing (10/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): Decent but no parking and extra to park - Modern No parking on site and cost extra to park, no free breakfast. Woke up and the entire floor smelt like smoke

- KenB795 (10/5): What a great stay. What great staff. - We arrived on Valentines, probably one of their heavier days and that front staff had us through quite quickly. Note: I used the advanced check in email that I received.
We received a complimentary wine which was a nice treat, thank you.
The room was clean and spacious with a great western view of the Parliament Buildings and skyline.
The bed is firm but comfortable. Personally, the pillows were a little on the thin side, but that is my preference.
The only negative in my opinion was the air was a little dry so I was getting dry mouth in the middle of the night.
The exercise room up top on the 16 floor provided a great view when working out. Plenty of equipment and there was cold water if you wanted it.
For those who do not want to pay for the Valet parking, and I understand, there is a great parking facility one block north on Clarence st. with reasonable prices. We paid $30.00 for 2 days. We did take the car out during the day.
Our check out was very easy and the staff were again quite friendly.
I would Highly recommend this hotel.
- coleson (8/5): Nice 4 star hotel with great rooms - The hotel is centrally located and close to restaurants and main attractions. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and nicely appointed. The hotel common spaces including the gym are basic and in need of some updating otherwise it was a lovely hotel and staff were excellent.
- Mark (9/5): - Location excellent and beds very comfortable
Clean Valet is slow but the staff did their best

- David (7/5): does not live up to its luxury brand - nice design, restaurant service was better on weekend than weekdays. coffee machine broken, room service did not arrive, front desk unfriendly, room extraordinarily hot, shower tap malfunctioning, water goes from cold to extreme hot.
- Safari24096036486 (10/5): Go Sens - Beautiful location, great hotel clean rooms. Were a little overbooked on 2 bed rooms and asked our group if anyone was willing to switch to a 1 bed room which one of us did. Clean rooms, nice lobby and location. Would come back for a longer trip.
- oparshina (10/5): Would definitely stay again! - Wonderful hotel at a great location! The staff is very accommodating and kind and the city views are exciting. Highly recommend!
Merci beaucoup! Rien

- qnqms (10/5): Couldn't have picked a better hotel in Ottawa! - Needed a hotel to stay for the last 2 days of my trip to Ottawa. Spent a while comparing the different options before picking Andaz and I couldn't have been happier with the selection! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious with the most incredible view of Byward Market. I work remotely and had a desk and lots of plug socket options to work comfortably in the room. Also was able to work in the lobby after check out with enough space and quiet. Will 100% recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ottawa and hope to return one day!
