- Paradise55170024052 (2/5): Terrible Experience at Hilton Yantai Golden Coast: A Traumatic Attack on My Child and Me - Our family stay at Hilton Yantai Golden Coast (August 2-3, 2025) was supposed to be a relaxing vacation—instead, it turned into a nightmare that left my children and me physically hurt and emotionally scarred. On August 3rd, while swimming in the hotel pool (which we assumed was exclusive to guests), an unlicensed, non-guest swimming instructor aggressively demanded we leave their "training lane." When we hesitated, instructor hit me hard on the head and shoved my children in the lower back, causing both of us to stumble in the water. My little one screamed in terror, clutching their back, and refused to go near water for the rest of our stay. They still complain of back pain and now have nightmares about swimming. What’s worse? The hotel staff showed zero concern. Pool attendants and the front desk ignored our report—no first aid, no apology, no action to stop the attackers. These instructors openly run commercial lessons in the pool (violating Chinese laws and guest exclusivity), yet the hotel does nothing to regulate them. Hilton’s promise of safety and care for families is empty here. They failed to protect us, especially a vulnerable child, and their negligence is unforgivable. To all travelers—think twice before booking this hotel, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Your family’s safety shouldn’t be at risk because of a hotel’s refusal to enforce basic rules or protect its guests. We demand accountability, but for now, we urge others to stay away. This is not a place you can trust with your loved ones.

Common areas of the hotel, such as corridors and elevator lobbies, are maintained to a high level of cleanliness. The pool and gym are excellent, and the Japanese restaurant is very good. The location is very good, with fantastic sea views and a long pedestrian promenade tryst is very safe foe jogging and walking, the beaches live up to their name! It is easy enough to get to and from the airport and only 30 minutes to down town.

- HONG (6/5): 有失五星级酒店水准的自助晚餐 - 酒店位置临海，过马路就是天马栈桥和海边，看落日和夜景非常好。酒店客房服务需要改进，每日洗浴用品经常配置不全，而且洗发水和沐浴液颜色一样完全分不清楚，建议酒店使用不同颜色的瓶子进行区分。 最让我们感到失望的是酒店自助晚餐，每人198元的收费，但完全不符合五星级酒店的自助餐标准。我们19:30到的餐厅，餐台上的食品已经像快收摊一样了，令人失望。一般酒店主打的冰鲜海鲜区看不到扇贝，生蚝等品种多样的海鲜，海虾只有几只，三文鱼也是跟服务员要求后才有人来切给你一点儿。蔬菜沙拉都已见底，冷切食品例如Salami, Cheese，Ham等完全没有提供。小龙虾小得可怜，只有小手指一样大，其他主菜区里的炒菜也完全有失水准，让人看了没有食欲。我们前不久去了三亚和西安，都是入住喜来登酒店，酒店自助晚餐收费是148元和168元，而且红白葡萄酒啤酒无限畅饮。烟台的希尔顿收费最贵，而且19:30这个时间正是晚餐用餐高峰期，甜品和糕点区的选择也非常少！总之我们非常失望，完全不值得198元的消费。

The hotel is located on the seaside and had a great view and the room was comfy and clean. The staff even alittle slow with the service were polite and kind . Hand sanitizers were available. My room was large with clean sanitized bedding. Hotel staff members are friendly and helpful. Awesome location, right on the beach.

- gsbmst (6/5): Nice new hotel near beach and pier----various operational gliches - Visited Yantai in the Winter for business. Summer is probably a great time to visit. Since this is northern China, the outside temp was 40 degrees during daytime and freezing at night. So the hotel had the heating on, which appears to be centralized. As the thermostat in my room only allowed for heating, no cooling The entire hotel seemed to be set at 75-77 degrees. My room was on the 26th floor of a 28 story building, so the heat appears to vent up and does not vent out of the building that easily. The top floors were hot at night (77+), making it hard to sleep. The hotel knows of this poor HVAC or building design as they have a flyer in the room that says to shut off the HVAC in the room, open the window, and call for a portable cooling machine. Trouble was, there is no window to open as the windows are all sealed on higher floors. And the cooling machine they brought me was basically a fan. After 1 sleepness night, I asked to be moved. They moved me to the 7th floor, which has the same HVAC system, but when I turned it off, the room cooled down to 70 degrees as the heat doesn't build up in the lower floors. I guess when China builds out skyscapers by the thousands in such a short time, things like bad ventilation design happen.

- Just_be_true (6/5): Not the best day? - As Bonvoy member I normally stay in Marriott Yantai, 500m down the road from Hilton. But with Marriott fully booked, at my last trip I decided to give Hilton a try. Rated #1 in Yantai, prepare to wow me. Check in was smooth, good service. Room 709 had a destinct industrial smell, but seemed to come from the AC so I decided that asking to switch from probably would not help. On to the buffet dinner, this was maybe the least attractive buffet I have tried at an international 5 star hotel, and the service was very average despite a lot of staff present. The room was ok. I am not a fan of the dark colors and yellowish marble, but that comes down to personal preference and Hilton can't be faulted for my taste. But the hotel looks much older than the 3 years the staff at checkout said it was. Looking around, the gym and tennis court both look worn down and the carpet in the room is starting to look worn in the main walking areas. The bed was good, but the vibration from the neighbors alarm clock could be heard through the wall. The breakfast buffet was nothing special but the fresh juice and many coffee machines are a plus. Checkout was the highlight, the lady took a genuine interest in asking about my stay. Maybe I was unlucky with the timing of my visit, since they had a convention at the same time? If I stay again in the future I will write another review. In the meantime I hope Marriott has a free room...

- Joe (10/5): - Very clean hotel, attentive staff. Good selection of drinks and snacks on the executive floor lounge. Quite a bit out of downtown Yantai with not much to do in the area; it's pretty desolate in winter though I'm sure the beach is a big summertime destination.
- Casey (10/5): Great stay - Excellent new hotel. Staff is excellent and very helpful. If you buy the buffet dinner they will give you a free bottle of local wine which is excellent. Also the fresh squeezed juice for breakfast is great. 5 star plus hotel. Great price.
- Casey (10/5): 5 star - Hotel and staff were excellent. Ive stayed in many five star hotels around the world on business and this hotel was at the top. Great price too. Only problem was the interent was terrible. Ok for using the net but when using my company VPN it was almsot useless.

- Verified traveler (8/5): close to the beach - The staffs in the restaurant have not been trained properly. The taxi waiting outside the hotel was terrible, as the cost to the airport was more than double of the expected fare. The surname of the driver is 张，53years old and live locally.
