The hospitality was excellent — friendly and welcoming — and the accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and just what we needed after a long day in the car. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views really helped us unwind. We’re so glad we chose to stay here in Wakkerstroom — it was a lovely surprise. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and scenic getaway.

One or two slip ups, however Ronel and her team rectified immediately with smiles which was great. Food was excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable, WOULD reccomend! I don't like spiders, but they were everywhere. Not much they could do about this, as it is cleaned daily. Sadly its a consequence of being in nature. They did provide sprays etc scattered across the BNB and so i believe they did everything they could!

I enjoyed walking the property as well as sitting on the stoep drinking my morning coffee, reading, and just sitting and staring at the beautiful view, flowers, birds, hens, and lambs. Not a thing other than wishing it were closer to my home in America :-)

- Darina (10/5): Cozy cottages, relaxing weekend, our favourite accommodation in Wakkerstroom area. - Pretty pig cottage was clean, neat and comfortable. The fireplace warmed up the entire cottage, the beds were extra length, the bedrooms had block out curtains, the view was beautiful, breakfast was delicious. The farm’s wifi didn’t reach Pretty pig cottage but the vodacom and mtn signals worked very well even through the storm the one night.

- Barbara (8/5): Beautifully equipped cottage with stunning views - Loved the view - we stayed in Pretty Pig cottage - and it was one of the best equipped self catering places we’ve ever visited. Absolutely every detail well considered and provided, from delicious creamy fresh milk to really sharp knives! It was brilliant for us as there were just the two of us in a two-bed cottage so we could use the second bedroom as our ‘dressing room’ and we’re both small people so the rather tight bathroom didn’t bother us. It may be a bit challenging for larger guests tho.

We stayed there over the New Year's period and Ronelle was fantastic in recommending places we could visit to celebrate New Year's. We ended up staying at home and watching the fireworks over Wakkerstroom from our veranda. What fun! Thank you, Ronelle. - Laura (10/5): Wunderschönes kleines Farmhaus mitten in der Natur - Wir wurden sehr nett begrüßt und empfangen. Das Paar, das den Forellenhof betreibt ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben abends zusammen gesessen und uns nett unterhalten. Die Vogelwelt ist dort wirklich klasse. Es ist sehr sehr sauber! Ich würde bei einer weiteren Reise wieder einen Stop dort einlegen um die Ruhe zu genießen. Ich kann die Unterkunft nur loben und weiter empfehlen. Man kann sich dort gut selbst verpflegen. Die Küche ist riesig und es gibt draußen eine sehr große Terrasse mit Grillstelle und Sitzgelegenheiten. Die Zimmer sind klein aber liebevoll eingerichtet! Auch für Familien sehr zu empfehlen! Es gibt auch einen Spielplatz und viele Farmtiere.
- Simen (10/5): Peace at the Freckled Frog - Stayed in the Freckled Frog. Great for a family getaway. No TV! Facilities great, clean, daily friendly cleaning service. Enjoyed playing board games while the indoor fireplace was warming up the room. Enjoyed the town and environment. Great ambiance. Did some bird watching and cycling.
- Hendrik (10/5): Absolutely faultless and fabulous - What a beautiful setting and even more beautiful accommodation. The personnel were friendly and welcoming and catered to every need. No doubt that we shall use this little gem again!
