The service road leading up to the main gate. It was filled with litter and definitely made us question if we booked at the right (and safe) place.

We had a view of the garden through a fence and if you looked carefully you could see the river in the background. I had paid extra for a room with a river view.

Warren (9/5): Perfect location, friendly staff and geared towards hosting events. - Ideal location on the banks of the Orange River. Centrally located, and within walking distance to shops in town and restaurants along the river. There was a central cooling system (water-cooling system I believe), which I could not turn off in my room. This was in addtional to an aircon being available. The water-cooling system was very loud.

Relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of a busy working day and enjoying the sunset and the tranquility of the river is lovely. Although the staff is very friendly and helpful, there don't seem to be enough of them. Reception also has to cover the bar and check guests in an out of the facility.

Gabriela (10/5): A beautiful Place - The place has an excellent location, on the river, and a beautiful garden. The very large pool was great pleasure during the hot days. Bedrooms , garden, restaurant and terrasse are beautifully decorated. The owners and the staff are just great. We felt very welcome, and we got all the help we needed as our car was broken down. Got a lift to the garage and car rental. We stayed longer than expected and everyone was friendly, helpful and looking after our well being. We could request for breakfasts and most delicious dinners. We will go there for sure again if we have a stopover in Upington. It can be highly recommended.

Peter (5/5): Eccentric but not in a good way. - Good location. Decent breakfast. Very close to an excellent restaurant. (The Red Ox.) Quite an odd place. First off, even if you can see the entrance from the main road, it's not immediately clear how you get there. A few signs wouldn't hurt. Then you get to the gate and a big sign that reads NO CHECK-IN BEFORE 14.00. NO EXCEPTIONS. That could have been worded a bit more diplomatically. And it hardly says, "welcome". Then, in your room, the first thing in the information wallet is how to make a complaint. Must be made on the official complaint form (included) and submitted as follows etc. Very strange. Then the rooms. It's hard to think that they were designed by anyone with an architectural qualification. Our room had two (2) showers (why?) but a toilet that was squeezed into a tiny alcove barely a metre from the bed and behind only a half-length wooden door. All their efforts seem to have gone into excessively ornate furniture and fittings. But they seem to have neglected the basics. We won't stay there again.
