- Shanthaseelan (7/5): A Pleasant stay at the Jie Jie Beach Hotel, and value for money. - The room was quite spacious. Could have been cleaner, and the place on the whole looks a bit dated.
- Stijn (5/5): Hotel with faded glory but nice staff - The location is quite nice because it is right at the beach. We also had a ocean view room, the other side might be a different experience as the railroads are there. Nevertheless, the trains didn't bother us as much. They have a large pool. The service however was very good and the people were super friendly. Jie Jie Beach really felt like a hotel with faded glory. The pool they have is very large and we did enjoy the pool. However it doesn't look very appealing and maintained. That goes for most of the hotel. It's quite large and it seems almost to large for proper maintenence (if you dont invest in it). The rooms weren't clean or maintained at all and the matrass wasn't very comfortable, unless you prefer rock solid. With the amount of staff that we saw, they could put some more effort in making sure the maintenence and cleanliness is on a higher standard considering it is a 5 star hotel.
- Viyakesparan (1/5): Terrible Hotel - but has potential! - a lot needs to change to make it to at least a 4 star! - Rooms were large with great beach views - needs a lot of updating to bring it to standard! The only positive thing I can say is that a lot of my family members stayed at this hotel as we were attending a family wedding and so I was able to celebrate my 60th b'day with my relatives there and staff helped me set up with a cake table and assisting with drink orders etc. Room was serviced well daily! 1) The terrible state that the hotel was in with renovations going on whilst people were staying there - men painting corridors etc.. 2) No facility to order any lunch at short notice, or have a proper coffee after dinner. 3) Unclean staff members trying to cook omlets/eggs - three of them there at one point and none knowing how to make an omlet and wearing dirty clothing! 4) Our breakfasts were not charged back to to the room (as we had booked Room Only) and despite letting staff know - nothing happened. 5) Staff didn't speak English or understand English so difficult to communicate! 6) Everything seems to be still paper based and not computerised? 7) Customer Service NIL 8) Didn't try room service as everything else was so bad we kept going to get our food and drinks from the Bluewater Hotel so this Hotel missed out on income as a result! 9) Sheets were clean but floors could have been cleaner. 10) Rooms were bare with no colour or decor! Serious upgrades needed!

- Brigitte-Irene (1/5): Einmal und nie wieder. Von 12 Tagen nach 5Tagen ausgecheckt. - Das Frühstücksbüfett war unter sehr schlechter Auflage. Butter nicht abgedeckt und sehr unappetlich,Wurst und Käse angelaufen und schmierig, Gläser für Säfte alle trüb so das man nicht wusste ob das Glas sauber ist,ebenso waren die Gläser nicht auf dem Kopfgestellt. Eierspeisen musste ich jedes mal frisch beauftragen da auch sehr unappetlich,Obst nicht abgedeckt da Mücken /Fliegen am Obst waren,Toastbrot vertrocknet.Das alles konnte auch ein Einheimischer bestätigen da ich ihn zum Frühstück eingeladen hatte. Beim Essen auf dem Zimmer wurde das Geschirr vor der Türe erst nach2 Tagen weggeräumt,so das wenn man die Zimmertüre öffnete die Mücken ein umsurrten. Badezimmer jeden Tag unter Wasser da die Duschtüre undicht war.Balkontüre war nur sehr schwer zu öffnen. Nach 3 Tagen habe ich erst ein Moskitomittel erhalten in meinem Zimmer.Safe viel zu klein. Kadaver am Strand.

- Anita (4/5): A bit disappointing from how this hotel presented on line. - We liked the bed it was comfortable The loud music that played on a Saturday night downstairs that kept us awake until it went off at 11pm. We had a very early flight the next day so it wasn’t good at all. The property was tired looking and less fancy than it appeared on the internet.

Local lads playing cricket on the beach below...always good humoured and friendly....it seems to be the Sri Lankan way! Hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Handy restaurant over the railway track...they did us an immense seafood platter! Can't think of anything.

We ordered from the menu and it was good. We would come back. Nothing, significant. Oh yes, mini fridge is on demand???

When it comes to the room facilities, the air con was old and leaking, the TV was a basic one without smart features plus the picture quality was poor. I thought I'd be able to connect to Netflix. Both TV and Aircon were unheard of Chinese brands of the lowest quality from the looks. During the stay there were some random power cuts, I don't know if it's only my room. The breakfast buffet was average in variants.

- Rohan (6/5): Pleasant - Lots of maintenance issues of the hotel throughout that makes its star rating around 3 to us. Room with poor electrical items in the room (kettle). No bar fridge or microwave. Room was too hot, so aircom is bit low. Walls and floors are not regularly maintained throughout due to a finding issue as we were told. Gym was too hot and apparently broken aircom and 4 gym equipments, no fans :(

Very nice It’s quite dirty unfortunately we had a big problems with clean linen we had to ask couple of time to change them for us and unfortunately not everybody had a sun beds becouse they didn’t have enough for all the people. We were overcharge for no reason - we suppose to pay difrent price according to booking they charge us much more. The quality of the food was going down with every week.

Everything is a bit run down but the bed is comfortable and clean Beware there is a train on the side facing away from the beach view but it's not a big sound problem. Find only until 10 pm and then at 6 am, I'm a light sleeper and it was just fine

- Manimeldura (10/5): Unforgettable hotel with stunning view, great service, and delicious food! - I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The beach view from my room was simply breathtaking, and I loved the easy access to the beach right from the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate my requests, such as arranging to-go meals for a day trip. The room was well maintained, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. And to top it all off, the dinner buffets were delicious, with a wide variety of Sri Lankan dishes to choose from. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway. Despite being located by a train track, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't hear any noise during my stay at this hotel.

- Ruwan (1/5): Not Worth for the Money. Sad but this is the truth. - The room is so big, but they are not in the position to provide enough AC and are super hot during the night. The breakfast was average, and I was expecting more as I was under the impression Jetwing hotel chain was operating. Still, I'm sad to inform you that most of the place's cost-cutting has been implemented, impacting the clients. Room Air Conditioning and there is no management person to speak to and correct these issues promptly. Also, when we tried to talk with any senior management, they were not in a position to come up and speak with us, but finally, F & B manager was kind enough to at least listen to the issue. Due to the bad management, the staff was helpless, which needed to escalate to top management. Also surprising to me, there is no Duty Manager on duty.

- Imali (9/5): Overall, the experience was satisfying and relaxing. Would definitely go again. - The stay was definitely worth the price. The staff was kind and provided good service. They were quick to answer the calls for room service. Every time we asked for a refill or restocking of room supplies or food they provided it generously. Some earlier reviews said that it was almost like they knew what you were thinking and that's exactly how it felt. The toiletries in the bathroom had a delicious fragrance and felt rich, soothing and mild on the skin and hair. A few drops of each went a very long way. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. We had breakfast and lunch, and the food was tasty, clean and well-prepared. Overall, the experience was satisfying and relaxing. Would definitely go again. There was some rust on the balcony railings and metal hinges. The ironing board was very old and didn't stand well. However, it was good enough to get the get the job done.
