Guest Reviews
- Erika (8/5): Nice Hotel - Hotel was nice, rooms were nice but the HK's need to look around the rooms after each stay, found other items from people who stayed in that room, towels looked like they were not exchanged but just folded back, found footprints on a towel.
- Lucy (10/5): - Very easy to locate and great size rooms.
- Wade (4/5): - TV wouldn’t work, tried to say something to the front desk staff but got absolutely no help or assistance on multiple occasions.
- PATRICIA (8/5): - Hotel was nice and clean , I’m surprised it was quiet . The only thing is the girl at check in wasn’t very friendly. I tried to converse with her but she ignored me . Her name was Judith .
- Matthew (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Mandy (8/5): Nice for quick stay in the area. Clean with hot breakfast and covered parking. - Clean. Good location relative to our sporting event. Covered parking was nice.
- cfY6001LN (2/5): Not worth 200$ a night at all - I first walked in the room and it wasn't cleaned from the last person, then when i brought it too their attention they came up took the sheets off and left them outside the door and didn't actually clean anything since the front desk lady "didn't know where the cleaning supplies were" then i had to go down and get the sheets from the front desk because she didn't bring them up or put them on and when i went to put them on she also gave me the wrong size. The bed was also caked in dust which i accidentally came across when i tapped my hand against it to see a big cloud fill the air from it. To add to all of that they left stuff in the fridge from the previous guest and didn't restock the bathroom with towels or anything else either.
- P4296ZIdavidc (10/5): A good experience - I just want to share my experience at this hotel. I have to say it was very good. The manager, Jylina, is very attentive. When I stayed, my TV wasn’t working, so I called the front desk at 9:00 PM, and within 15 minutes, the maintenance staff arrived at the hotel and fixed my TV. The rooms were clean, and the service was excellent. I definitely recommend this hotel!
- Tammy (2/5): - Staff and supervisor were very rude at check in. The price was doubled from what it was supposed to be. We didn’t stay, we left.
- Marco (10/5): - awesome stay
- Hannah (10/5): - Nice clean quiet property!
- Lani (8/5): Nice place - Nice hotel. However, make sure you are in the back side of the hotel. The truck traffic in the evening and early morning is very loud.
- Johnson (10/5): Nicest place to stay in Big Lake! - The staff were great! Breakfast wasn’t really served, just ham slices and cubed potatoes, on Saran Wrap stretched across a pan…
- Jose (10/5): - Good
- Barbara (7/5): Coming for a funeral, arrive late, but overall it was good - It was good compared to other places we’ve stayed Property was good, the room was ok also, the only thing was the bathroom, it looked like it hadn’t been mopped because there was urine on the toilet floor in the front, other than that, it was good
- 275allenm (6/5): Ask if the elevator is working - The elevator was out, which put me in a bad mood. A prior review said it was out last month, but it didn't list a specific date. I'm listing August 15, so make a note when it gets repaired.
Fresh finishes. Looks new, but open about 8 years. (The desk chair works and has some spring, which is not the case in all hotels.) Beautiful lobby & breakfast room.
Tiny pillows. I hate that. For a "plus," and an expensive one at that, I expect King or Queen-sized pillows.
My room (even number) overlooked a service yard. The trucks were loud until at least 10 p.m. and started again at 6 a.m.
The card in the room says ice and vending is available in the room by the elevators on each floor. Second floor room was empty.
The indoor pool was closed for maintenance. The elevator is broken. Is this a pattern or a coincidence. Someone post a review when you notice one of them gets fixed.
I wish fridge had freezer compartment.
Top-notch mattress!
Remote t-stat gives good temp control.
Good breakfast. Neat trick to use moist towel to keep biscuits from drying out.
Tall ceilings. A good amount of light with a bright one in the ceiling by the door.
The shower head is high up, about 7 feet, which I like.
- Ron (2/5): Nice hotel ac was broke - Nice facility Ac was not cooling much at all
- Kittecrew (8/5): Big Lake - Best option for a stay in Big Lake. Not the best price, but the best location. I wanted to us the fitness center but could not due to a guest already using the instrument. The breakfast was really good. Staff was friendly. Internet was a lot more stable than other places in the area. The inter net was also a secure connection unlike what you normally see.
- Cornelius (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (2/5): Very poor -
- macier34 (10/5): Good job thanks - thank you highly recommended the BW hotel. good attention very clean good job thanks? Muy buen hotel muy bien recomendado. La limpieza la limpieza el restaurante el personal mucha atención el internet muy devil
- Sergio (4/5): Disappointing - The room was in really bad shape
- leroys73 (8/5): Good Night Sleep - Second time we stayed here. It in my opinion the best place in town to stay. It is clean and friendly. We found it quiet. It is easy to get to. The breakfast was about what most hotels offer now.

- raquel (10/5): 45 Star Stay in Big Lake. - Staff was friendly and efficient. Questions were answered quickly and agreeably. Requests were responded to with alacrity.
Comfortable and clean room. Will use best Western again. 😊
- ChrisLTR (10/5): Great stay! - Clean rooms, well kept hotel. Staff is super friendly. It's quiet, I don't hear the people in the rooms around me. Perhaps they're sleeping like I am. Lots of pillows. Was visiting family in town and this sure beat the sofa bed. I've stayed her multiple times. A little on the pricey side, but the entire town is like that. Strangely, since it's the middle of nowhere. But the overall experience is something I would love in all my hotel stays.
- AndySam711 (10/5): Andy - My number one choice hotel when travel, never have any problem with best Western In Big lake.
Overall excellent comfortable. This is one of our favorite hotels. We have stayed here multiple times and it has always been a great experience. The location is great, lots to do. I highly recommend this hotel
- leroys73 (8/5): Good stay and location for me - It was clean with enough electrical outlets and towels. These are often a problem but not here. Very friendly reservations and check in. Breakfast was the typical not much to brag about but it was a starter for the day. Parking was good and well lighted.
- Kelwin (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Buchanan (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (10/5): - Room was very nice and clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good.
- Michael (10/5): - In the midst of the ugly town, the motel brought a lot of class into it. Thanks for keeping the pride of the Best Western.
- Aimee (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- justincM6168JM (10/5): Very friendly staff & clean - I slept great! The bed was comfy with nice new appearing linen. The room was very very clean. The staff was wonderful. Great location right off the main highway with a few decent local restaurants nearby. I will stay here again!
- 202janet (10/5): Quick overnight stop for nature viewing - Big Lake was located well as we were bird watching in the area, as we wanted to be close to Mertzon the next morning. The hotel was clean, quiet, well-appointed and appeared pretty new. The room with a king bed was roomy, with a sofa and desk chair. Well-lit also. Next time I'd ask for a room away from the highway as there was some noisy truck traffic, but we did not notice it after about 10 p.m. We did not eat breakfast but it looked fine and well-stocked. Check in and out were quick.
- T1188LWbrittanym (4/5): Best western big lake - Upon arrival I was not greeted and employee sat on her phone until I got up to the front desk... this was a common habit upon all the employees here. No one was ever standing up ready to help anyone. They hid behind the corner on their phone...
During my 3 night stay I had to get 4 different keys because they kept NOT working!- and they weren’t put up against electronics to deactivate them.. I stayed in a king suite and there were stains on the sofa bed, toilet paper had barely any on it and there were poop stains on it. I went downstairs after noticing it and asked for a different roll and two more towels to fit my family of 4. Girl didn’t really acknowledge the fact the room was not clean. We also did not have a sticker that other doors did that said cleaned and sanitized for your protection.. and that was clear! Cleaning services were never offered the entire stay and they were very loud cleaning other rooms and slamming doors..
Also not happy I spent 400$ and prepaid for this hotel so it wasn’t able to be cancelled. We drove 5 hours to be with my working husband and the pool was broken and ICE cold and maintenance never showed to look at the issue. So my kids were VERY upset and I was upset with the cost and talk about being able to swim and not get to when we got there. When I asked about the pool issue the employee snapped an attitude and said idk what to tell you there’s no one I can call and idk when maintenance is coming it’s been broke for weeks. This would have played a big role in staying at this facility.
- Mark (8/5): Nice Hotel - Bed of Concrete - Hotel was nice, clean. The bed: hard has concrete
- Verified traveler (6/5): Exorbitant Price Markup - Price of rooms went up 75% for the holiday. Were it not a family outing I would have stayed elsewhere. Rooms were still available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay
- lawdawg76384 (8/5): Overnight stay - Good hotel great place in a remote area. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms great location next to hey and restaurants. Very nice hotel in a smaller community. Will stay again if need be. I recommend this
- German (10/5): Long night - Last minute stay and was accommodated for the price range in that area. Very pleased after a long trip.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great stay - It was clean, and comfortable
- Verified traveler (6/5): An ok place to stay - The room was comfortable. A little weird that there were only 2 pillows on a king. The only options for breakfast for non pork eaters are carbs and sugar. The front desk charged me even though i had already paid but hotels.com fixed it.
- Ronald (8/5): Hot Breakfast During Covid - Clean and comfortable. I appreciated the hot breakfast burritos when most other hotels just put a danish in a bag.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Terrific Place to Stay - This is a great hotel. Employees are super nice and place is very comfortable. We would definitely stay here next time we are passing through.
- phillip190 (8/5): On the Road Again - When in Big lake this is the only place I will stay unless they are booked full, and most of the time they are booked , so call ahead and get your room. The staff is always accommodating and friendly . the beds are comfortable and always feel at home here.
- carmdlc (10/5): Wonderful Staff - Highly recommend this hotel. It's clean and the staff is amazing. We went during Covid, so we were unable to try out the all the amenities, but the staff went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed and safe!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a standard BW. Breakfast, beds, a desk in the room.
- Explore05807538212 (10/5): Leisure - This hotel is amazing. From the second you walk in the door to the second you walk out. Every staff member is friendly and helpful, and goes out of their way to make you feel right at home. Rooms are very clean, breakfast was great, the lounge was amazing
- phillip190 (8/5): On the Road Again - this facility was very well run and the rooms are very comfortable and the staff was very helpful, you can tell they care about the customer and do all they can to make you feel at home . The beds are very comfortable.
- sherylhill027 (10/5): emergency stay - We were in Big Lake to visit a dying relative. Emotions were high but Angela (the manager) helped use more than any other facility we've stayed in! This is a very friendly and helpful BW! It was clean, safe and comfortable as well!

- Karen (8/5): - Breakfast was cold was my only complaint.
- Nick (8/5): - A little over priced.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Best place in Big Lake to stay. - The beds are getting a bit worn out. I have stayed here for the past year since they opened. Beds need to be updated since they are hard, suggest mattress toppers.
- L eddleton (10/5): BW in Big Lake - nice hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very clean hotel - The front desk people need to be better trained. We had a very bad experience with them relaying bad information. They need to know the questions to ask....have a questionnaire in front of them.
But the hotel manager Christina has been excellent in solving our problem on a timely basis.
Other than that it was a very clean hotel.
- Ruben (10/5): Satisfied. - It was amazing for the location.

- Antonio (10/5): - was nice
