Guest Reviews
- Stuart (1/5): - Nothing at all the hotel was closed about 3 weeks before snd its still on booking.com website , i'm trying to get my money back but booking.cim won't pay til they get email back from proprieters who did a runner so do NOT book this hotel.
- Harry (1/5): Didn’t - Property closed when we arrived No communication
- Mark (1/5): Waiting for my Refund - Bad was shut even when payed online Didn’t stay took my payment out when I got there was already shut down
- Stephen (1/5): - Nothing It was closed don't pay for a room here had to pay again for another hotel
- Gina (1/5): - We cant properly score this hotel as we didnt stay as we turned up at the property after booking on booking.com and having confirmation about our arrival time to find that the property was closed and not trading, we then had to mess about ringing booking.com and relocating to another hotel that booking.com found for us which ended up being a nightmare, the hotel did answer my email saying booking.com was aware that the property wasn't taking bookings and shouldn't have allowed us to book.
- Howarth (1/5): - It was closed
- Rat Lombot (1/5): -

- David (1/5): Disgusting, dirty, filthy, and smelly. - The hotel was disgusting it was very dated our room was very bad, it had mould around the window it was broken you couldn't open it ,the wall had blood stains on it and the shower room had mould on the tiles and mould on the shower hose. No heating, no television the kettle was dirty the carpet was dirty and sticky. The floor in the bathroom was bouncing up and up like a trampoline and the smell was horrible it smelt like drains were blocked through the hotel. The manager of the hotel couldn't speak much English plus he wasn't interested in what I was saying. We decided after 30 minutes with beening in the room to leave the hotel and drive home and get a shower because we felt dirty beening in there and finally myself my partner and our son suffer from asthma which started to effect our breathing. Closing down the hotel and not giving the manager a license to run a hotel no duty of care towards the customers. Also the photos on booking.com was completely different to the room we stayed in he has misleading customers and conning them.

- Paige (1/5): Let me book to stay then emailed me in morning saying the hotel was closed. Still waiting for refund - Nothing Cancelled my booking the morning before I was leaving! Still haven't refunded me my money. Never again will I book on booking.com or travigo.
- Jacqueline (1/5): Never again at that hotel - Nothing about this hotel did we like Everything the room was filthy we had to sit outside from 4am because of bed bugs crawling over 2 of the beds kettle in room but no tea sugar coffee milk mould all around shower door 1 bed tied together
- shannon (2/5): - Wasn't busy Absolutely vile hotel , say they are renovating, but I dont see why tou would open in such a state.... it absolutely stunk ! The big open windows had no curtains so the room was open to everything. Was mouldy in the room , it was vile... hopefully a renovation helps more.
Plus we was supposed to have breakfast, was told to go downstairs at 9 , he would take orders for quarter past , we waited till half past , still nobody around. So we just left.
- Pavilion Ajayi (1/5): - Nothing I booked this hotel for me and my family to have our vacation but on getting to the hotel it was dirty and stinky with a stained toilet. The staff said the hotel is under renovation but yet they place it out for people to come stay.
My family was traumatised especially my pregnant wife that we could not take pictures , we have to run out with luggage as I needed to start looking for another hotel for them and when I saw one I checked their room and toilet before making a payment.
I think many hotels in Blackpool need to be checked mate. A hotel should be healthy, safe and habitable but for this hotel it was zero upon zero.

- lucie (8/5): - Great value for money and a lovely breakfast . Pleasant staff and a clean tidy room. Great location and very quiet on an evening so perfect for children Tired rooms but still excellent value for money.
- Leah (9/5): - The manager was friendly & was always available, location great, the hotel its self is run down but £50 for a family for 2 nights with breakfast. What do you expect. Would stay again, lovely breakfast & they held our cases untill we left Blackpool later on, on the day of check out.

Toilet was dirty .tables in the dinning room hadn't been clean for months .no heating so rooms were very cold. wouldn't recommend anybody going there
- Pauline (1/5): Should be closed down. - The location No tv, no Wi-Fi, no heating. very thin, poor bedding. Had to ask for towels. Carpets filthy. No waste bin. No cleaning service. Filthy toilet on arrival. Had to clean it ourselves. Bathroom window didn’t close. Fly paper hanging from ceiling. Breakfast served at only 9am. When flushed toilet made howling noise until tap was switched on and off.
- debra (1/5): - Nothings everything it was dirty no heating food was disgrace could not eat it staff were rude bedroom door wouldn't lock caved in ceiling repaired with 2 sheets of wallpaper coming off Absolutly filthy 1 bath towel between 2 people
- Vimalkumar (1/5): This HOTEL MUST BE CLOSED DOWN due to its Health & Safety for yourself and your family. - Nothing INFECTED & CONTAMINATED MATTRESSES with BLOOD Stain and WET with perhaps Urine or something else . Forced to stay and sleep in that room by manager(in picture)
Forced to accept old/ used Duvet cover , pillow cover and unhealthy room .
RECOMMEND NOT TO BOOK ROOM EVEN ITS IS FREe
Abusive tone , threatened tone , racial discrimination rude and non cooperative, disrespectful behaviour with us by manager.
Can you imagine I was left with no place to stay in middle of cold night in Blackpool
- Jamesha (1/5): - Nothing Linen was dirty, room was musty and mold was seen in alot of the areas. The shower was head was black and dirty, there was a foul odor in the room. Worse hotel ever avoid avoid avoid or you'll regret it
- Brian (1/5): Where people go to die - Nothing absolutely rank Nothing hovel absolute hovel
- Gurmeet (1/5): -
- Roger-the-Lodger (2/5): Not what i expect from a Hotel Business - AVOID - The shower room actually looked like it had been cleaned and there was running hot water from the sink taps. Told them with 2 days prior to arrival I was coming at 3pm and yet no one there to checkin - not answering calls so returned at 6pm to get in successfully. It’s best days are gone forever until some much needed investment comes along and possibly new management from what I had heard about its current owner/owners. The owner is reading this answer your phone during working business hours with an up to date telephone number. Your guests at least deserve this. The pillows looked like they were of low quality. The bed frame was broken. The bed sheet upon inspection had orange circle marks on it and holes in the sheet almost looked like a bug of some sort had been eating away at it previously. There were light colour dribble marks on the bed frame headboard. The curtains do not even pull half way across the window. There was a big dried in stain mark on the ceiling. The room smelled of mixture of smelly socks and body odour on arrival. You would at least think the window would be open but no. On the ground floor corridor there was another smell, like a pungent, decaying odor. The wallpaper was peeling off in the room with black mould on the wall. The plug socket in the wall didn’t work. The carpet in the room is dirty and harvesting all sorts of bacteria - totally unacceptable. There was what looked like a makeshift fly catcher in the room which is normally fine but it hadn’t been replaced for quite some time. Disgusting. I tried to speak to the owner about these issues after failed telephone attempts or to get moved to another room but to no avail. One of the other guests said the owner was quite overpowering and done more talking than listening and is nasty and not to bother attempting to contact him/her/they whatever the owner identifies as. The same guest said a woman was outside her door trying to get in to her private room unsuccessfully pretending to be a pussy cat making meow noises at 5am in the morning and was later sick all over the hallway of the corridor from too much alcohol consumption. Left the property after 2 hours of being there. Didn’t even get to find out the property had WIFI but there was no way to connect to it the short time I was there due to lack of communication. I was horrified to see there were guests staying here with their children. I BEG YOU please don’t allow your children to sleep here in the rooms at night at the Highbury Hotel, 18 St. Chads Road, Blackpool.
- Howarth (1/5): He'll hole - The bed .no tv ... no kettle,no cups ,no tea making facilities. Breakfast was awful. No radio . Holes in ceiling . Doors struggle open
- lyall (9/5): - Big room with toilet and shower would stay again and the hosts were great and the breakfast was fine as well Unfortunately Wi-Fi wasn't working and the TV but these things happen but it doesn't spoil my few days
- J4wlor (1/5): Get what you pay for! - Nice staff The room was shocking. Dirty sheets and towels. Damp walls, mouldy windows. What looked like blood stains on the bathroom floor. Flaking wallpaper.
- Jennifer (3/5): It’s cheap so u can’t complain but so is bleach.. it is very unclean - The location was perfect the owner was very warm and welcoming dirty walls shower was really dirty grubby carpets a kettle with no cups minimal toilet roll no soap found an air freshener dried up stained Items everywhere like wardrobes and draws wall paper handing off dusty . It’s a real shame this place could be a gold mine with just a lick of paint and some bleach .
- Joanne (5/5): -
- Sean (1/5): Never again - Terrible communication and took money after saying they could not facilitate my stay Everything regarding the communication
- BEC & my sexy lover xxd (10/5): -
- Crystal (1/5): - Nothing Awful place to stay
- Jill (1/5): - The hotel had closed down 2 weeks ago and I wasent told was absolutely gutted I was staying with my 2 grandsons so no hotel to stay so had come home with 2 very upset grandsons I was devastated
- kalvin (10/5): -
- Parneet (3/5): -
- Martin (1/5): WARNING...DONT STAY HERE.... - Nothing I had no curtains .no bin and no toilet roll only stayed 1 night and paid for 2 because it was so bad. Ceiling was peeling of and had a hole in the floor. The walls was dirty and bad waterstains in the bathroom. 150 for 2 nights and it was the worst place I've ever stayed. I asked for a refund for the night I was jot staying and he shrugged it off and laughed.
- Elizabeth (3/5): Poor - I liked the size of the rooms and how close it was to the beach and plenty of plug sockets. Too much unfortunately, it looked on the site photos. Blinds didn't reach the bottom of the window so street lights etc shining through all night. No towels in the bathroom. TV was broken and on the floor, what i hope was burn marks on the floor. Would go into more detail but I think thats enough.
- Lisa (1/5): The worst hotel I ever stayed in my life - Nothing Everything
- Michael (1/5): Trap house - Nothing got bed bugs Everything no cups no tv that works bed bugs dirty bedding
- Brenda (1/5): Never ever stay again and would not recommend it to anyone - Nothing Everything
- Haag (1/5): Bad - BEDBUGS are everywhere. The place is not suitable to stay at all, health and safety priorities are clearly not taken as serious as try should! Bed sheets are dirty, wet and burnt. We were bitten everywhere and had to see the doctors. Very disappointed!
- Amanda (4/5): Funny girls - The location was great. Beds were clean It was very tired but to be honest it was so cheap that we would not complain. Beds were clean and it was somewhere to lay our heads only.
Breakfast was interesting enable but took an age to come out.
- Inger (1/5): Bad -
- Martin (5/5): Passable - The price says it allbyou get what you pay for No bin in room or bathroom, no tv. Hole in floor and ceiling. Was a kettle but no cups, tea, coffee etc
- Scott (1/5): Absolute hovel - Location Absolutely stunk of stale smoke , staff smoking at check in , got to room loose electrical wires everywhere , no bulbs in lamps , no toilet roll , carpets were filthy , sat on bed mattress was knackered u literally went straight to the base of bed , no blinds or curtains. Could not stay had to book another hotel which was much better and reasonable price
- Gary (1/5): Bad - We did not stay at the property as it was very dirty and nothing like the photos that advertise it. Didnt like anything about the property as it had ripped and dirty sheets on the beds, ceiling is falling down, mould ihalf way up the shower cubicle, curtains do not fit the window and it smelt. No tv in the room. Kettle but no cups tea coffee or milk which should be in the room
- Conley (2/5): short and sweet - Going back home person running it
- Nickie (6/5): Get what you pay for decent brekkie and nice staff - Great location, the guy who dealt with my visit was lovely and helped with the issues from previous customers causing multiple damages to the room. Simple English breakfast in morning , On arrival went to our room bedding was damaged stained/marked ( staff said due to dryer) however smelt clean so delt with it,TV was on window ledge due to being pulled of wall by (previous visitor damages staff said this), only 2 of 3 windows had blinds that didn't fit correctly so light was coming straight in to room I had to get a bed sheet to pin across the windows again due to previous visitor causing damage so I dint sleep well due to early morning sunrise, shower pressure is so poor it would be quicker to have a wash out the sink. Also had a leak upstairs so I was woken up in the morning by staff knocking on my room to fix the leak, apart from that it's basic get what you pay for
- Adrian (8/5): Fantastic for what we spent. - Absolutely top host. Really nice chap, couldnt be more friendly. Very close to the beach and amenities. Quiet at night. Nice breakfast. A little spruce up needed
- Lee (5/5): It was ok for the 1 night - It was close to the seafront The beds hadn’t been cleaned no towels no soap
- Torran (1/5): BEDBUGS GALORE! - Do not stay here ever!! The rooms where disgustung, they didn't even change the bed sheets from the previous people that stayed in the room, the beds were full of sand and BEDBUGS! GOT A HUGE BEDBUG RASH AFTER STAYING HERE, STAY AWAY! Do not stay here ever!! The rooms where disgustung, they didn't even change the bed sheets from the previous people that stayed in the room, the beds were full of sand and BEDBUGS! GOT A HUGE BEDBUG RASH AFTER STAYING HERE, STAY AWAY
- Martyn (2/5): We stayed for about 15mins before escaping to the nearest pub washroom! - Location was ok, but parking was impossible near the Hotel.
Staff were pleasant and unassuming. The place looked like a quickly tidied up squat!
Somewhere to avoid if you can (and we did).
- Sharon (3/5): Poor - No TV, no towels. Single bed was really dirty.
- Summer (1/5): Bad - Nothing, couldn't get in. No communication from hotel. 2-7pm check in only!
- Emma (1/5): Bad - Did not stay here was filthy and manager was unavailable to speak to me
- Lesa (2/5): Spend extra money this place is bad - 3 staff 2 very nice No towels or soap shower room very Dirty room very dirty
- Stel (2/5): Wouldn't Stay Again - Area of the hotel, cooked breakfast. Own key to come and go whatever time it is. Bathroom floor sinking in, pillows very flat, springs sticking out of mattress, hole in wall filled with pink filler sticking out of wall, worn carpet everywhere, had to wait half an hour for a jug of milk for cereal, then had to ask for bowls to put cereal in. No salt. Sticky fly catcher in the room, dirty window,
- Craig (1/5): Bad - Leaving Breakfast was horrendous.
When the people in the room up stairs done toilet or showered it ran down the bedroom window.
- Chris (1/5): Utterly filthy and disgusting stank - The location was good The room was not fit for habitation. It was very dirty and in very poor condition. There was an overwhelming rank odour throughout the ground floor of the building, especially in the room. The toilet was dirty and had a strange pink substance in it. Holes and stains on the bedding which were disgraceful. There was thick black mould around the window and the window locks were broken. The shower was utterly filthy, had thick seems of black and pink mould around it and the soap dish had green, stagnant water in it. The entrance hall carpet was dirty and stained with grease. There were empty snap bags stuffed into broken coat hooks on the back of the door in the room. There were dirt splashes on the walls. I have taken photos of all of this. Please refer to Google reviews. There is no way this place could be described as 'passable', which is what it says on your site.
- Smith-hollins (1/5): An absolute disgrace hole in tiles on bathroom floor infested with bed bugs filthy bedding. - Absolutely nothing. Didn't like anything at all.
- Ann (7/5): Enjoying and would stay again - Staff helpful and friendly Value for money
- Sandra (1/5): Bad - I bathroom was not clean and my duvet cover had brown stains all over had to take it off and sleep with out a cover on and the breakfast was not very I would not feed it to dog
