Guest Reviews
- Jane (10/5): The Loft - This is a lovely place to stay. Stuart greeted us on arrival and the Loft was warm and cosy with everything we needed including a basket of treats and eggs for breakfast. There are lovely views of the grounds and countryside. Nice walks from the property and Rye is close by car. Would thoroughly recommend.
- Jannah (10/5): - We had an absolutely lovely stay in The Loft. The apartment itself was perfect, with a very thoughtful welcome hamper and everything we needed for breakfast included. It was clean and spacious with a lovely loft living area for relaxing in the evenings. A 5 min drive to the centre of historic Rye which has many sights and eating options and a great base for exploring Romney Marsh, Camber Sands and Dungeness. Would absolutely stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect! 5* - These apartments are perfect. Very well thought out style and comfort. Easy to access and beautiful grounds.
- Giles (10/5): - We cannot recommend Humphries Cross highly enough. It is a lovely property for a holiday exploring the Rye/Weald of Kent area or just for a quit, restful break.
- JUAN DIEGO (10/5): - Nice place and lovely area. Very close to Rye and Camber. Had a great time. Check out could be a bit latter to enjoy it more.
- Natalie (10/5): Thank you for making our stay special!! - We arrived on Saturday and was amazed by the lovely view this place has to offee, the host were absolutely amazing very welcoming and friendly.
They left us a beautiful hamper with some essentials, we were taken back by the amount of space this place has to offer.
It's really close to shops, restaurants and the famous camber sand beach.
We stayed in ground floor apartment sorry no pics but what you see on their profile is true to description. It's well layed out and cozy we wished we could stay a bit longer, but we will leave that for anytime 😊.
Definitely a place to go to relax and reconnect.
- Gary (10/5): - Lovely accommodation. Relaxing stay.
- Stephen (10/5): Fantastic! - Fantastic short stay in beautiful surroundings
We had everything we needed and the apartment was spotlessly clean.
The welcome basket was very much appreciated and a lovely touch.
The owners did eveything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Highly recommended!
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely stay at Humphries Cross - We had a lovely stay at Humphries Cross. Contactless key collection, with everything feeling clean and safe. Lovely welcome pack on arrival with all the essentials. Beautifully decorated throughout with all the essential utensils that you would need. Nice and quiet location.
- Howard (10/5): Perfect. - Just one word, perfect.
- Teresa (10/5): Perfect stay in rural location near Rye - Lovely comfortable, spacious apartment with great views over fields. We stayed in The Retreat for a week. The place was immaculately clean and well equipped for self-catering. There was a generous pack on our arrival of breakfast stuff and a nice bottle of wine, as well as a vase of fresh flowers. The heating was easy to use and it was good to have full control of it as the weather was quite variable during our stay. Stuart, our host, was helpful and quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely recommend the apartment as an excellent base for exploring the area. It’s also a comfy place to eat in and relax in during the evenings - good WiFi.
The village of Iden is 5-10 minutes walk away. Iden has a pub and a small general store/ post office for basics. Rye is a short drive away.
- Andrew (10/5): - Lovely gift of groceries left for us upon arrival. Kitchen well equiped for our cooking needs. Great place to stay!
- N (10/5): Couldn’t have been better - Fabulous stay in a lovely apartment - very comfortable, great bathroom with big shower. Welcome box was a real bonus! So convenient for visiting Rye and surrounding area - hope to be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - a little gem of a place, the best we have stayed at loved it
- Kim (10/5): - Lovely clean apartment. welcome pack marvellous. Location great Going back soon
- Russell (10/5): Russell & Clare's review - Lovely quiet country location close by to Rye.
The room was clean and cosy and nice to see wine and Matchmakers waiting for us as well as complimentery bread, eggs and milk which was greatly appreciated.
Clare wasn't well when we arrived and our hosts were kind enough to lend her a thermometer which was very kind!!
All in all a great stay and we will certainly be back in the summer ;-))
- James (10/5): Self catering in East Sussex - A quiet week of self catering in a lovely location and in a very comfortable apartment. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen and the washing machine was very useful. Good walks around the area and the village of Iden had good character with a nice pub.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent facilities - very pleasant owners - Visited Rye, Sissinghurst Castle and Great Dixter - all most 1nteresting
- clement (8/5): CHarming apartment in village close to Rye - It's a beautiful area, in proximity to Rye, with country walks in the immediate vicinity. The property is immaculate tidy & clean, and very tastefully decorated. It was nice touch to provide a welcome crate of groceries including a bottle of wine !
Perhaps could do with a sign or clearer signage at the entrance to the drive.
- Andrew (10/5): Ideal base for a beautiful and varied area - Everything you could want, an ideal base for the great variety, in all directions and close at hand, the kind gesture of a 'welcome basket' with a few treats, you soon felt at home, would gladly recommend and return. Self-catering gives the opportunity to buy the fine local produce for meals and save on restaurant bills.
