Guest Reviews
- gmaano (4/5): Overpriced, dont be fooled by pictures - Very embarassing hotel to host our International guests from USA providing service to the community of GenSan! The hotel pictures are deceiving - the hotel and the rooms are not that spacious nor elegant as the picture make you believe! It is overpriced for its quality - was a rip off. We stayed there as part of the Medical Mission team from USA/Australia/Singapore/Vietnam - it was embarassing to say the least, as there was no hot water - that is if there is even water flowing from the shower, wifi was weak.
- Frederick (4/5): Other hotels in the area are better and less money - No ice, and no refrigerator. NO ice container. Our first
room had a black floor. Cannot see the dirt, changed rooms. In sufficient hot water. Don;t recommend this hotel.
- Stay35783271390 (4/5): Services need improvement - Pros: Conveniently located near the malls, restaurants, banks, and other shops. Just within the compound, you’ll find a convenience store, spa, salon, bank, and the hotel’s restaurant. Room amenities are basic- clean bed and pillows, hot and cold shower, etc. Towels are also clean.
Cons: No provision of hair dryer, Wifi is not working!!! (which, for me is big deal because mobile signal is also poor in my room)
Drain at the shower is terrible (this is the most problematic. I have to clean up the drain, I know, gross! I paid here to sleep but there I was, cleaning the drain at early morning!!!)
Did I get the value for what I paid for? No.
Hoping that the management will address these issues.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nEAR SHOPPING MALLS AND OFFICES. All I need is within the vicinity of the hotel. I feel safe and secured in this hotel.
- miocal (6/5): Not for a business trip - Hotel is clean. Frontdesk and food service ok. Housekeeping service, fair. They don't smile! There times that it would take you forever to wait for your requests. Some restrooms can't accomodate big people. Their toilet bowl is so close to the sink. Some bidets are not working well. Wifi, mobile data, phone/network signals are very poor. This is not a proper place to stay on a business trip since communication here is so poor.
- albertbriones (8/5): 1st Taste of Gensan - A job that brings you around great places in PH is something that I love most.
Being a newbie in town, I never thought that Gensan has something great to offer.
I will be proud to get back to this hotel again on my next trip to Gensan.
- 368kissa (6/5): Average Price Average Hotel - I booked a king suite with them and when it came time to go I was informed that the king suite was no longer available! With a "no refund" policy in place, they took my money for a room the didn't even have! So they were willing to pay for my stay at a couple of nearby hotels instead. Both were worse dumps than this one. In their behalf, they were willing to work with me and we settled on a future stay at their hotel in a king suite. The room was not very big for a "king" suite. TV reception was poor and the Wifi was abysmal. They don't have their own restaurant, instead using the one downstairs located in the little mini mall where they are located. It didn't offer much but it was OK for a quick bite before leaving for the airport. There is a bigger mall across the street, however half of that mall is closed due to a fire resulting from a previous earthquake. There is a 24hr convenience store located in their mini mall for snacks and drinks. I would have expected more for the money, but then this is the Philippines and anyone who has ever read Dickens could learn a "great" deal about "expectations". Ha! (sorry, couldn't resist)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Free breakfast was very good and tasty. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Nelyn (6/5): - So terrible the room is smell gas or floor wax and it’s my migraine attack!
- NickS814 (4/5): Very simple & basic - Very basic accommodation, i was expecting more from the price point paid (59$)
Room space -ok
TV - ok, not a great picture
Internet- so-so- very intermittent.
Breakfast- very, very disappointing for inclusion at 59$- really was very bad quality
Staff- young but all very nice, helpful & smiling
Overall- probably more business trip only- would not stay again
- ely (8/5): - Excellent....
- craigkordic (6/5): Average Business Hotel in GenSan - + Good, convenient location in center of GenSan near the Super Mall
+ Has a good coffee shop & restaurant on the hotel compound
+ Complimentary, buffet breakfast including eggs made-to-order
+ Good convenience store on the hotel compound
+ Friendly, responsive Front Desk staff
+ Air-conditioning that works well
+ Beds comfortable enough with decent pillows
+ Several English TV channels
+ Desk with chair
+ 20-person conference room, and a 100-person conference room available
+ Decent shower with hot water, and bath & shower gel supplied
+ Big mirror on the wall
+ Has place and hangars to hang clothes
+ Has Fitness Room
+ Get the value you pay for
- Old, dingy looking room, little attention to aesthetics
- No view from my room
- Bathroom old, dingy, seriously needs to be redone/renovated
- No place to put your toiletries while getting ready in the morning
- Toilet didn’t flush when I arrived, they “fixed it” twice in 2 days!
- only a simple lock on the door that staff can get in whenever they want. Should have a deadbolt lock.
- Fitness room is old, unorganized, basically non-functional, one of the two treadmills don’t work, and it doesn’t have air-conditioning…or a fan!!
- 648reynardb (4/5): Business and Pleasure Trip - I was really disappointed because I booked a hotel room with airport transfer last August 25 but when I arrived in GenSan I wasn't picked-up by the hotel service. They just told me to get a taxi instead because they're driver didn't report that they. They should have informed me earlier.
The room is ok with a restaurant across the rooms. It's hard to get a tricycle from this hotel because it's in the main highway and tricycles are not allowed in this area.
I would not surely recommend this place to friends and business partners unless they improve their customer service.
- gideonm800 (6/5): Right choice of hotel for simple and basic expectations. - Excellent location. It's along the main road of the city and walking distance to a big shopping mall. Just adjacent to the hotel are a small restaurant/coffee shop, bar, spa and a convenient store. The rooms are basic but generally clean. There are no windows though facing an open space. There's a glass panel covered with curtain but is facing the hallway and does not serve any purpose at all but simply to provide a break for the concrete wall. The hallway can become very noisy as one can easily hear other guests talking, children running through the corridor and hotel staff pushing their wheeled service carts. The hotel employees were courteous and helpful specially those at the restaurant serving free buffet breakfast. Breakfast is alright but nothing beyond that. Over-all, value for money is fair. Just right for what you were just willing to pay for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly. The sheets were dirty but were replaced in a timely manner. We requested ice but it was served in a dirty container. There were ants in the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location iof the hotel s walking distance to Gaisano, KCC & SM Malls. We found cheap fruits by the side street just a few meters from the hotel.
The beds in the su
The toilet walls are not properly cleaned, the new foot towel looks soiled & dirty.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place is conveniently located very near the malls and we availed of the salon and massage services which are just in the hotel. It has a convenience store at the ground level and the Caffep shop also made food accessible but the
breakfast buffet has very limited choices.
The place and room is clean and linen changed daily.
Generally service is good but we just found out that the telephone needs to be cleaned and disinfected as it smelled bad.
The place is remarkably safe and quiet too despite the seemingly casual setup of the rooms.
I would recommend it to friends.
- Alex (10/5): Highly recommended - Great l location
Great value for money
- ssbhat2018 (6/5): how a seemingly good hotel turn staying into a nasty experience - Let me get this straight. Bathrooms should have good ventilation right? Wrong! If one turned on the ventilation fan in the suite (one of only 2) one could get some real bad smells. Was very puzzled and annoyed at first, Then in figured out that the ventilation fan is working in the reverse direction. Turn it off, everything is find, no smell. Turn it on, variety of ughhh smells. Mosquitoes are another issue. Well, the suite was not bad overall but for the above.
A fact which I did not like (and nobody would) is this. My flight got cancelled (which is a regular Cebu Pacific nightmare) from GenSan to Cebu and I was allocated this very same hotel. They allotted me a room which was claustrophobically small and with no windows and no AC!!!! When in protested, they give me a room next to it, with an AC and as claustrophobic. As I was too tired, having spent 7 hours at the airport, I just accepted it. But it goes to show the attitude of the Hotel staff. Or their guidelines for air travelers like myself and other fellow passengers. Felt like Matt Damon in the movie Downsizing, if you get my drift! Food ? 'You are allowed upto 150 Pisos, more is chargeable to you'. Jeez! All in all, a bad experience. Fellow travelers, look for a better place. This hotel is not upto it.
- Christopher (10/5): - When you’re planning to visit gensan, I highly recommend this place!
- Vibz (10/5): - The location was excellent, right across the Gaisano Mall and the Food Trip plaza.
- Hannah Marie (10/5): - Really accommodating staff. Quite accessible, too.
- Ian Regin (8/5): Affordable Gensan Hotel - The room was just ok but could have been better. Facility esp the gym was outdated. Treadmill and other equipment lacked the cleaning they deserve. Staff were friendly and willing to assist.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - overall it was value for money. The hot water though wasn't so hot but it was warm enough to be tolerated. Plus the location is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed My Stay - It was fine. Service was great. Rooms were clean. Mattress was very hard
- Timothy (6/5): Just a little fine tuning required - Shower was terrible
- Clint Jan (10/5): Amazing stay - The stay was amazing. The food is delicious.
- Rolina (10/5): - Our first time with the place & it was excellent decision for me choosing this hotel!!!
- streetfooda2018 (6/5): good place - good place and location but the room is not so sound proof that you will hear the bypassers and the cars passing from the outside. but the cafe is good and their foods as well. i will come back again soon and expect improvements.
- endrudepe (6/5): Not bad experience - When we just arrived we had problem with the water but they fixed it after a while. Room just ok but the staffs are really friendly and helpful. The location is in the center, easy to go anywhere. Overall is not bad experience.
- LawrenceLately (6/5): Basic rooms, underwhelming service - Rooms are small (but at least looks more updated than old and grimy East Asia Royale) and are located in a commercial complex, so expect outdoor noise to ruin your sleep. It also looks like they don't have round-the-clock housekeeping service, so I had trouble asking for rush service for ironing my clothes.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Underwhelming room in good location - Pros: Good location. Friendly staff.
Cons: To use an iron, you have to pay a "rental fee." Room was damp and dank.
- lollibeth (8/5): Good place to go some times - Hotel is simple, good location plenty of good food shops around, about half hour from airport.
- combat66 (6/5): Basic hotel - It does the job. Hotel is very basic but friendly staff. Rooms on the ground level are facing the parking and driveway so it can be a bit noisy. The breakfast area is in a separate cafe across the hotel and they serve decent meals.
- swineveted (8/5): Convenience - Located at city center. Nice breakfast area at Cafe Firenzo. Clean and comfortable rooms. With family KTV facilities. Courteous and accomodating staff in both the hotel and restaurant area. Would recommend and will check-in again.
- U2257BFjonathanm (8/5): Pleasant - I would still give them a high rating even though I had some issue about the AC of the room assigned to me. There were waters dripping off the AC which resulted to the flooding of the floor. When this was reported, the maintenance and housekeeping staff immediately responded and addressed the problem. The frontliners were polite and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is just right. It's in very near GMall, Near Robinsons, Veranza and SM. With coffee shop (Cafe Firenzzo), Convenience Store, Banks and my fave JOs Chicken Inato. One concern though is the Wifi as it's on and off.
- basteboi (8/5): The Little City Within GenSun - Guests are welcomed by warm smiles of the frontline officers. The rooms are also spacious and the bed is comfortable. I had a good night's sleep. The comfort room is also clean with functional hot and cold shower.
The hotel also has shops, bar, karaoke rooms, restaurant and coffee shop. Everything is there.
- veronp2015 (4/5): Average Hotel - The hotel is as exactly as how the pictures are shown. Very simple, nothing very special. It has a cafe where you can stay and eat. It's near mall vicinity. Overall, quite decent and good for a one-night-stay hotel.
- pebblesnajeen (8/5): Great hotel near malls and restaurants - Took a long time though before we could check in. I wish they followed the check-in time. Apart from the above, all else was perfect. Room and toilet was clean. place was near malls and restaurants. room was spacious.
- casharade (6/5): Disappointed with the Rooms - I always have high expectations for Sun City suites even I have not stayed here because the reviews are very good and even my friends would suggest staying here.
I took 2 rooms for over night. The staff were very accommodating and helpful with our inquiries especially Noel. Location is very ideal also because they are very close to bars, massage and restaurants.
However, the only disappointing part are the rooms that were given to us. Rooms were dusty and there were flies when we check in. Both rooms have and we even call reception to send someone to fix the issue. A guy from housekeeping went their bringing the spray, more disappointing is he didn't ask us to leave the room first before spraying and started spraying and even sprayed on the bag of my friend.
We asked them if we can change room but they told us they will check for availability. We just ignore the issues since we it was an overnight with friends.
During breakfast too, rice and breads and other fish were not refilled and that is why we were in doubt if the buffet was offered. Anyhow, we like the love cooking.
