Guest Reviews
- Hassan (10/5): Very convenient stay. I enjoyed it! - Apartment was very Clean. Professional customer services with prompt responses
- Melanie (10/5): - The views at this property are awesome. It was also really nice to have an entire apartment to myself. The building has great amenities, including a fantastic, large rooftop level with lounge and awesome view of NYC skyline. I’m a New Yorker, but I would do this again in a heartbeat! There’s only 2 things I’ll say though: the apartment was very clean, but my bathroom had some really gross paint chipping & pink mold like substance over the shower head. Also, while I loved the unit, it wasn’t the one advertised as I was expecting when I booked it.
- DpestD (8/5): - Hard to find the entrance, because the main one is closed but other than everything is great , especially the view !
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was “okay” - The apartment was “okay” nice views and nice furniture and equipped with kitchen tools needed. The bed was okay a bit harder for my liking but it could be suited for someone who does like a firmer bed.
My issue was the cleanliness of the apartment. Especially since staying during Covid I was expecting more. The shower had someone else’s hair on the walls. After seeing that and 2 dead (tiny) bugs I was super uncomfortable. Bugs happen but the hair was concerning as it made me wonder about how well the rest of the apartment was cleaned. The towels and welcome kit were wrapped in individual bags which was greatly appreciated.
The staff at the front desk were extremely nice and personable.
Communications were a bit difficult. Too many separate emails. Emails from hotel.com and then multiple from global luxury suites with information. Just seemed disjointed.
Overall was just okay. I don’t write reviews but with covid I think it’s important to share my experience.
- Daunte (10/5): 5 star - Excellent location very clean and comfortable
- Astouseck (4/5): - The room looks nothing like the picture. I was thinking there was more space
- Christain (10/5): Hom away from home - I enjoyed my stay here and I liked the fact that it was a residence and not a hotel.
- Chamone (10/5): I will go back anytime! - It was very Pleasant and the people was so Polite and generous.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The view was amazing! The carpets were light colored and very dirty. The dressers had water damage on the tops of them. Could use a fresh coat of paint. The bed was uncomfortable as it pretty much was worn and had an indent where people slept. Parked two buildings down at double tree. Only stayed there one night for a total of about 8 hours so I can’t rate anything else.
- Patrick (10/5): - Amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment we stayed in had amazing views across the river to NYC. The property is located just a 5 minute walk to the PATH train station and the local mall. It was well laid out and very clean and the staff were extremely helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location across the Hudson and ease of access to Newport path station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome stwy - The view in this place was awesome. Right in the middle of Jersey City easy train ride to anywhere in Manhattan. I need to find a reason to stay here again.
- Dennis (4/5): This should be on Airbnb... not hotels.com - This really is just an airbnb. 4PM check in and the cleaning crew comes at 10 am the next morning. Parking is an extra. Nice view. Decent apartment but should only be used over multiple days.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We reserved a 3 bedroom unit but checked in to a 2 bedroom unit. No one was available to address our concerns when we called customer service. We would like a refund for the inconvenience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Please be advised that the name of the property is not Global Luxury Suites. It’s an apartment complex that people lives in; which made it very confusing when we arrived because we were looking for the name to be displayed. The pros are: the beautiful NYC views, the pool, the washer and dryer. The cons are: there were permanent stains on the kitchen counter, the beds are not comfortable at all, the towels are poor quality-they leave lent all over your body. We definitely will not be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was easy to check in the pool was very clean and nice size the view from the Room was also beautiful.
- Violet (10/5): Great for a home away from home getaway - Beautiful building with lots of amenities. Great location. Doormen were extremely helpful and friendly
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This was a nice property. That said, it was advertised as having a pull out sofa, but the sofa could not pull out because the space wasn't large enough. There was confusion around parking, and I wound up having to park several blocks away in a public lot. There was only one towel upon checking in. I received almost 20 emails from the company in a 24 hour space preparing for and during check in - annoying. Overall, a really nice room, but not worth the headaches.
- Caroline (8/5): - The place is lovely. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and full bedding wasn’t provided until 2nd night even though we were told it would arrive on day of arrival. Having said that, the block and facilities are lovely, the local area has lots of things to explore and really easy to get to Manhattan.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The building's location and amenities are great! The layout of the apartment is also really nice. The cleanliness and maintenance was a big issue though. The beds are terrible! You can feel the springs through the mattress and all 3 beds creak really loud! The countertops, towels and bedsheets were all dirty and the overall maintenance in the apartment was minimal. The bathroom drains were clogged and took over 24 hours to fix. One drain was fixed and the other started acting up. In conclusion, not worth the price.
- Selina (4/5): - Mentioned city view no city view
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They said to pick up the key at a leasing location that was locked even though it was supposed to be open. Hotels.com rented me a room that somehow ended up going through Expedia, that somehow ended up going through another company Global something or other, etc. I was disgusted by the whole experience and checked out a day early, with little expectation of being refunded for that extra day. Nice room in good location, but terrible experience in terms of the way it's set up and the way it's falsely marketed to the public.
- Michael (10/5): The best the east coast can offer - Had an amazing time at Global Luxury Suites as usual. Apartment is very well kept and made our family vacation an amazing one!
- Justina E (8/5): Central location with quick access to the city - We chose this location because it was in close proximity to New York city, where we would be spending most of our days. We enjoyed the extremely easy commute and accessibility to shops and restaurants near Newport station. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the condition of the apartments needs some improvements for better comfort. The towels are old and rough and are basically falling apart, the mattress in one of the bedrooms was sinking in the middle which was extremely uncomfortable. If this could be addressed it would be an excellent property to visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Recommend to all! - Unbelievable place to stay!
- Claire (10/5): - ✅amazing service
✅beautiful and very clean apartment
✅ great location
✅nice amenities
✅fully equipped kitchen
- Claire (10/5): Amazing experience - My experience here is always exceptional.
We always come back here when we are in jersey city. Service is amazing. Accommodations are very nice and comfortable.
- Samantha (10/5): - Beautiful property.clean and comfortable accommodation.
Would book again.
- lola (8/5): - Good location clean well kept.proximity to NYC building is well kept
- Anouska (10/5): Great views and links to Manhatten - Lovely, great apartment with gorgeous views. Very comfortable base and very quick links into manhatten
- Christine (8/5): Business Trip - Overall we were really impressed with the apartment and we will use it again. The view from the 39th floor is amazing. Fantastic kitchen, having washing/tumble drier was a plus. We found the heating very difficult to control, the units were blowing out cold air when it should have been hot. I think they need to be serviced.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Great Place for Extended Stay - As an apartment, it had everything you'd want, kitchen with stove/oven/microwave/utensils/pots&pans/cutlery/dinnerware, laundry w/washer&dryer, living room w/TV, bedroom w/TV, included cable-modem Internet w/WiFi. They even provided starter kit for the kitchen (dishwasher detergent, dish soap, new sponge) and bath (body wash soap & cond, shampoo & cond, bar soap, etc). These "starter" kits lasted me the entire week I was staying there.
At the 333 River St location, there is a very convenient King's SuperMarket immediately next door that had a very good selection along with very tasty precooked meals and sides.
- Rhonda (8/5): Jersey City Apartment stay. - Travelling as two female friends. Could not sleep on sofa bed. Worst sofa bed I have ever had. Extra tea towel and towels needed. No plug for kitchen sink. Otherwise roomy and main bedroom comfortable.
- Christopher (10/5): Terrific Riverside Location - Really good location to stay for access to NYC, area is slightly less busy than Manhattan, hotel apartments are truly huge and very good value especially for 4 staying. Everything about this apartment hotel is well maintained, neat, clean and tidy. The transport connections are very convenient, with light rail being 100m away, the Path and the Ferry just a short walk away also. Get a room with a view back across the river, the vista is absolutely spellbinding, a great view to see the whole of NYC.
We were really knocked by how a good a place this was the just hang out and spend a really cool hideaway US vacation.
No real downside the restaurants aren’t all that locally, the ones in the Mall nearby look better, Uber will deliver straight to your door if your short of somewhere to go. Big supermarket just around the corner, average to reasonably good when compared to European food standards.
Overall a great place to stay, didn’t think it was expensive for 2 of us for 9 days, given the apartment was the size of a 3 bedroom house !!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I loved the ability to have a true living space. Having more room than a typical hotel room was great!
- OA (10/5): Very spacious. Safe. Convenient. - Close to public transport and shopping. Very good choice. Ten minutes to NY.
- Stuart (6/5): Confusing - Global Luxury Suites is not the name of the property, but, the name
Of the leasing company for these apartments. The name is nowhere on the building which is called Marbella M2. It made it confusing upon chrck in.
Also, the concierge was not very helpful when it comes to area restaurants, etc.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Pathetic place - We had 2 elderly people in our group who had an reached early due to a morning international flight after a 30 hour travel. The unit would have been available for check in at 4 PM, and being a rainy cold day, they both decided to stay indoors and sit in the property lobby. However, the management called and stated that they will not allow them to sit in the lobby, and they don’t care if they are asking elderly people wothout winter gear jackets to stay out on a cold rainy day. No apologies and no other room/business lounge was made available for them to sit until hotels.com representative got involved in. Finally, on check in, The mattress in our unit was so bad, sagging in the center that it gave us a back spasm. The spring in the mattress could be get and I ended up having a bruise. Guest services representative checked upon the issue rightaway and acknowledged the bad mattress. The management notified us that they can only replace the mattress on the last night of our 5 day stay. And yet, failed to do so. They were supposed to call us and update upon the issue during our stay, but failed to do that too. I am sure they never had a plan to change the mattress and pass it on to the next guest. No moral/ethical values, Very poor management. Property is nice. They failed to keep up with it. Location is great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, beautiful and new apartment with convenient transportation.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bait and switched to dump, Horrible CS - Arrived at my apartment to find there were no keys. After an hour wait building keys me into unit to find someone living in my assigned unit. After another hour was moved into unit in another building that was a dump with lights out/flickering. Told I'd receive a call back in morning. No call.
Spend over an hour next day trying to reach someone at company before being told I'd be moved back to the original building "at no additional cost to me". Was promised multiple calls to resolve the bad experience. Finally received one from Judy who explained "it wasn't their fault" because "their system had an error". I was unable to ever get them to actually accept fault. They claimed the units were comparable (they aren't, I have photo evidence that is stark).
After multiple promised call backs I finally got an offer from them. They offered to give me 10% off on the first night only, about $20, in return for 4-5 hours of my time and an incredible amount of frustration. Was told I'd receive a call back after management weighed in, I asked for it documented via email. Once I requested all communication via email they have now started ignoring my emails and communication.
Generally when a company refuses to respond to emails or wants to only speak on the phone they're used to being sued, not a good sign.
Avoid at all costs!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, conveniently located. Small TV. Internet access code listed on check in paperwork was incorrect. No big deal, got the correct code from front desk
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful place enjoyed the area spacious rooms clean.
- Delaine (2/5): Beware - Disasterous Experience!!!! - Our room was not vacuumed and it took several attempts before we received a vacuum cleaner. Our numerous calls to management regarding a refund were either not answered or they did not call back as promised. Management agreed to a refund, more than two months later they still have not fulfilled their promises. Management claims that they had a recording of the call advising us otherwise of their refund decision. However, when we asked for a copy of the recording, we were told that the recording is private and would be against company policy to share it with us. It has been a completely unpleasant experience.
- Brenda (10/5): - Loved our stay here, perfect for what we were wanting. Close to ferries and trains to get to Manhattan. Supermarket, shopping mall and other great facilities close by. The view to Manhattan is stunning. The apartment was just what we were expecting and looking for, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, great laundry and kitchen facilities. The only thing we can comment on for improvement is the cuttlery and crockery situation. We had three people staying and only had three cups, three bowls, four side and four dinner plates. Lots of forks but few knives and spoons and no cooking dishes for the oven!
- ola (8/5): Ola - The apartment was clean and comfortable. Location is good and links to nearby state is good. The gym was well equipped with on demand classes.
I had issues with the TV, lots of noise interference from the speakers. I think the staff work on a kind of contract basis so they seemed lackadaisical and uninterested.
- Grace (10/5): Best place in jersey and best price no flexibility - The best place I've ever stayed in but contracted room service and no early or late check out time causes issues for travelers that they should fix.
- Hina (2/5): Horrible place , good view - In 3 words HORRIBLE , DISGUSTING , NIGHTMARE !
I wish I didn’t have to write all this but one thing before you book here , please please read reviews on their official site .
I booked from 4th till 9th Jan at Newport , Jersey City , Global Luxury Suites .
I arrived on the 5th as my flight from Vegas got cancelled . At 2 PM , my keys weren’t there even though the management had confirmed that my keys would be there . I waited till 330 when a man finally came and literally threw the keys into our hands as he was clearly in a hurry to be somewhere else . Oh yes , he had the audacity to tell me that we had been moved from the booked to another apartment 2301 . We moved in . The nightmare began . The apartment was freezing . I turned on all the heaters . The window in the master bedroom had ice and wind was blowing in . I called the management . It took them 3 hours to fix the window through which freezing air was coming in . I am going to attach pictures for everything that I say .
The apartment was extremely dirty . I started cleaning . Not because I’m a nice human but because I cared for my kids hygenie .
I called the management to change my apartment since it was so dirty , they refused .
The toilet pots were stained . Like somebody had used them . I felt like vomiting . My husband consoled me .
I cleaned the bathrooms as well . Nothing was prepared .
Now came sleeping time . Oh my Goodness , when I removed the blanket , the matresse was sunken . Completely
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice apartment but poor management - The apartment is reasonably priced for 4+ people and the view of Manhattan is pretty good. However, the Global Luxury Suites is a third-party that manages the rooms and they operates poorly. The key was not ready for pick up when I arrived around 12am even though they promised that check-in is guaranteed for late arrival. They kept me waiting for 1.5+ hours saying there were people looking into this issue, while no one got back to me in the end. I had to find another place to stay. When I requested for refund for that night, the process is also very slow. I had to chase multiple times. Choose a proper hotel if you want to have a smooth experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice room - Loved the room but could have been cleaned better.
- Travis (8/5): Nice place, good neighborhood - Apartment was very clean. Kitchen was nice. We only used refrigerator. Bed was very, very firm. Almost too hard.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money - Counters looked dirty. Commute to city was expensive and long. Took 20 minutes to check in. At least half the plug ins didn't work. Bed was really hard. Over all stay was not great we will not be staying again
- Monique (8/5): Hotel/Apartment living - Only street parking or parking at the double tree hotel. Nice apartment style hotel. This is the first time I’ve ever stayed in a place like this so at first I was excited that this would be a great place to stay with my 1 year old, however, I was put off by the fact that there was a crib available at an additional cost, $100 extra per night. I had to get a playpen for her to sleep in. Trash receptacle is not located on all floors and I found that quite out of the way.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome hotel - The hotel was way more than I expected had a good view of the city and had everything I would need and then some overall was great, I enjoyed it
- Chris (6/5): Nice Place but was not clean - Nice Building, Great Location. Great Staff. This is a great place. Having said that, the room was not cleaned to industry standard. The bed skirt was covered with human hair and also had numerous spots on it. The bathroom sink also had human hair in it. If the cleanliness issue is addressed, this will be a great place at a fair price.
- Pratishtha (4/5): TERRIBLE experience, poor & rude customer service - "Please" think twice before booking a room with Global luxury suites. My husband and myself had a terrible experience and genuinely dont wish any customer to have the same. We were very unhappy with the customer service line. Firstly, the staff is not polite while responding to our requests. Secondly, I had requested for early check in and I was asked to contact 5 times before we received any updates on the same. The day we arrived, one of the customer service member confirmed the key is ready at front desk. After we reached the hotel, our keys weren't ready. When we contacted the customer service again. the lady on the line rudely remarked keys aren't ready and won't be until 4.00 pm. She expected us to wait for 1.5 hours in the lobby without accepting the staff's fault in mis-informing us. So rude and so inconsistent of them. Also, at the time of booking, it was mentioned we will receive harbor view, what we received was not even close to that. We barely could see any view. The floor where we were staying was changed from 22 to 16 (after I made the reservation). Again inconsistency! I made sure we receive parking on arrival and the staff mentioned we do get one spot for 25$ for a day. When we arrived, the lot was full and we learnt that parking is on first come first serve basis. Once again lack of information provided to us at the time of booking. May I know what is the reason they charge close to 120$ (taxes and fees)?! Strongly recommend not booking with them in future.
- Rhonda (10/5): Beautiful View! Great option for lg family/group! - Great location and view of NYC skyline! Nice grocery beneath. Overlooks parks. 2.3 miles from Time Square. 3 bedrooms great. Could have used more towels and included parking to improve.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A nice apartment close to PATH and walking distance away from corporate offices in Jersey City.
- april (10/5): Wonderful deal. - This was a fantastic place for a great price. Close to the PATH and great coffee.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jersey City - Large comfortable room with easy access to Manhattan
- Annemarie (10/5): What a place! - I am so glad that I have the memories of this apartment. The staff were great, location was perfect (a short path train to New York ) and a quieter area without the high crowds. Jersey City is beautiful by the Hudson.
The apartment itself needed a touch up paint job along the hallways only as other guests have attacked the walls with their suitcases and there was a trip hazard in the kitchen (just general maintenance stuff) but other than that it was fantastic! Heaps cheaper too!!!!
- Scott (2/5): Do not stay here - The room had bed bugs, there is no parking
- Sandeep (2/5): Good property but Horrible Service - The property may be great but the staff, the communication and the service has been a horrible experience. We spoke to them, wrote an official complaint to various department and no acknowledgement let alone a response. If you are travelling to this property, please ensure that your check in process is all clear with Global Suites, otherwise you may end up standing outside with no apartment or keys.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very convenient and near comuting transit systems. - We stayed 3 days and 2 nights and were able to park our car at the facility which really made getting around easy and convenient. Entertaining with the pool and other outdoor activities were enjoyable. Check out time is too early and should be 2 pm instead of 11am.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Need better communication with location and... - Very nice place to stay, new building. Very comfortable unit.
The only problem I had was with Directions to my building-there were none. I had to go to 3 different "hotels and condos" to find the correct place.
First guess was using the address on Global Luxury Suites on line. That building at 465? Washington Blvd sent me to doubletree hotel - which finally directed to my building at 401 Washington Blvd.
My suggestion is GLS put the address on their correspondence do customers can go directly to their accommodations, instead if dragging luggage all around town.
Another suggestion would be to get your processes together and have the toons available by 1:00pm.
- Vanessa (8/5): - The stay was great! No complaints
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and NYC view - I booked a studio for a trip to NYC. Room was clean and bright. Nice kitchen and comfortable bed. We even had a view of Manhattan. Close to PATH and restaurants. Would definitely recommend!
- FK (8/5): New apartment, nice view of Manhattan skyline - Disappointed with the parking service, was told to bring a money order, coming from Canada, money order was not accepted although was drawn on a US bank, I had to look for a nearby parking upon my arrival, no room service throughout the entire stay(7days), otherwise I enjoyed my stay with the family.
- Beth (10/5): Perfect for us - Our apartment was perfect for our trip! The view of NYC was beautiful out our window and the apartment was equipped with all the standard things we needed. The concierges were helpful, welcoming and pleasant to interact with daily. We were able to secure a parking spot for our Harley Davidson in a covered connected-to-our-building parking garage which gave us peace of mind while visiting NYC. Very convenient to get to NYC from this location.
- claudia (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay. The only complaints were the countertops being stained , and also if you need parking inside the building you must bring a check . No cash !! Parking is horrible over there.
- Christina (10/5): A+++ - I had a lovely stay at Global Luxury Suites in M2. The building is modern and beautiful. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Everything was spotless and the bed was a dream to sleep in. I even had a great view of the City and the harbor. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice new building with really good access to trains and public transportation. The apartments are new and well maintained. I've stayed in a few different ones over the months and they can vary in size/location [view] but cleanliness and comfort the same.
- Eric (10/5): Great place to stay - We were really pleased with out stay. The place is ideally located and close to every tHong (e.g., Manhattan, Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center Memorial, etc). In addition the view of the Manhattan skyline at night was amazing. We got gar more than we expected and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
