Guest Reviews
- Eagen (10/5): Amazing, quiet bnb with delicious breakfast and lovely hosts! We loved staying here for 6 nights while skiing at Furano. - Amazing, quiet bnb with delicious breakfast and lovely hosts! We loved staying here for 6 nights while skiing at Furano. The rooms were spacious and comfy. Showers and toilets were great. It was fun to make friends at breakfast with other skiers and the hosts. It was hard to leave! Not being able to cook your own food onsite.

- Frank (10/5): We'll return and enjoy the area in January or in the Summer, and recover at Raclette - The "country" vibe , despite being just up the road from the train line to Furano/ Asahikawa.
Loved looking out the window, seeing a Fox foraging, squirrels in the feeders and the 2 Pet Donkeys on the property.
Cozy, convenient, casual, comfortable and a great value having to leave Hokkaido

- Frank (10/5): Can’t wait to return, when there’s actually Powder ( yes it’s already Tham/Ice conditions this year) - Akiko is a gracious host . Very peaceful stay. At least 3 singles rooms and 5-6 rooms for 2+ people. If you are a Cat person, she has rescued 11 and they live in a separate 2 story house!

- Michelle (9/5): - Really beautiful guesthouse. Everything made of wood, felt like a cottage getaway. Great location for getting to the hill. Free tea all day is a nice touch plus a public bath.

- Henry (10/5): Best place to stay if you are near Furano. So amazing - Most amazing staff! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Hiro, the manager was one of the kindest people we could have possibly met.
Gorgeous views of the mountains, and sweet donkeys to greet you upon arrival.
I highly recommend the breakfast. Every morning it was something new, and each meal was so delicious!!! Absolutely nothing, this place is a little slice of heaven.

- TAKAHIRO (10/5): -
- Turner (7/5): A cool funky place in a beautiful location. - Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Small but comfortable room. They didn’t do a good job shoveling snow form the steps. Just a narrow slipper path. Also they could have replaced the hot water for tea more often as it got cold.
- SHINGO (8/5): -
- Perry (10/5): - The staff was the nicest staff at any hotel I have been to. They helped cook my Ramon and left me a kind note. I want to return to stay there again. I was upset that I could not spend time with the cute cats in their cat home. I looked in the window several times and they are very cute. I love cats
- Khaisaeng (10/5): - Very nice and cozy
- Jasmine (10/5): -
- 渡辺 (10/5): -
- Jeffrey Hua Yuen (8/5): - The staff were friendly and ever so helpful. Hiro San and his family sre the caretakers
The location requires a car but was close enough in Nakafurano or Furano for a short drive to food options. We didn't opt the breakfast or dinner. But have heard it was excellent
The rooms were clean and shared toilets showers were excellent. Only things is with shared facilities you have to time your visits as they could be in use.
But if we are talking about value propositions..it's definitely good value so near to a ski resort which is 15mins drive away. Just be aware like many other Japanese ryokans . the walls are thin. The snoring pieced our walls but was muffled..So be prepared to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Mattresses could be firmer.

- Liya (10/5): Perfect. - The staff are very kind. We celebrated the new year together by visiting the jinja near the house when the clock strike 12 in the middle night, which is such a great memory. Also the location is quite good. From the house I saw the first sunrise of 2026 and the grand mountains faraway covered in the snow.

- Main Kham (8/5): -
- Yusuke (10/5): -
- SH Tong (6/5): - The environment and location Shared bathroom and toilet at ground floor which make it very inconvenient
- Prabeesh (10/5): - I love the property, the Donkey theme and the staff out there.
We reached Naka Furano station late evening and the Property staff were gracious enough to pick us up.
The breakfast is must try.
- Milly (10/5): The best place to stay in Nakafurano - Gorgeous pension with welcoming staff and an amazing breakfast ! The staff were so helpful; they booked restaurants for dinners and found us bikes to cycle round the town on.
- Atsushi (4/5): I felt it's risky to trust reviews. - Breakfast was excellent. Mold was noticeable in the bathroom, and there were food crumbs from previous guests on the floor.
The owner was not visible, which gave off a distant vibe. We didn’t expect any special services, but we felt like we were treated as unwanted guests. (However, the staff was very kind and did her best to assist us.)
All explanations were given in English, so as Japanese guests, we felt that this accommodation was not really intended for us.
There were reviews mentioning the opportunity to interact with a donkey, but that was no longer available.
Having a toilet in each room would be convenient. In the morning, I had to wait, and I also made others wait.
The location and number of power outlets were also a bit inconvenient.
- Yuki (9/5): Very good - Near Tomita Farm
- Sl (8/5): Quiet cabin with lots of space inside and nature outside. Good for family/ group. - Comments here are specific to our booking of the stand-alone cabin.
Cabin size is big with 4 beds (and another folded one) so it will be appropriate for family/ group.
Notes (not like nor dislike): Kitchen was well-equipped but equipment ran on gas (open fire) e.g. even the water kettle was not electric. We had enquired whether there was a dryer in the cabin as it came with a washing machine, the answer was 'no', but we found out that the washing machine was a washer/ dryer so this was convenient.
Bathroom was small and the separate toilet was on the other corner of the cabin, oddly right at the cabin door entrance. Comments here are specific to our booking of the stand-alone cabin and not the rooms at the main house where the reception is.
In the interaction with the pension owner/ staff, on checking in, we were given keys to a room and this was corrected only when we said we had booked the stand-alone cabin.
The cabin was on a separate lane from the main house and you would need to drive over. The lane to turn in to was not labelled nor named in google maps and was also not lighted. So if you are booking this cabin, suggest that you get there in daylight so that you are familiar with the way. We had to do this as we wanted to see the Lavendarfest which was a night event.
- Anna (2/5): We never try this pension again. - We like the location. The bath room was terrible. It's door was broken.
The surroundings of the pension are full of tall grass, and the plants are not well-maintained. The area is not clean, and the paint of the entire pension is already old.
- Oracha (8/5): Very good - Comfortable Bed so tiny
- Ming (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent breakfast, good location near the beautiful garden :)
- Timothy (8/5): Very good -
- Elisabeth (8/5): Very good - It was a nice stay. The doors of the room are a bit thin so you can hear neighbours quite well.
- Panipak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyi-sin (9/5): Excellent value - would stay here again next time - Located about 15 mins from Furano - very convenient since we had a car. I liked that it was a quiet place. Loved the breakfast and the coziness of the whole place with the wood stove. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Helpful, friendly hosts. Donkeys! Great onsen nearby at Furano La Terre.
- Muhammad (9/5): Superb - The interior was really clean and they have very cute donkeys!! All the staffs were super kind and helpful! The bed is a bit stiff
- Till (7/5): Good -
- Motomu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefanie (9/5): Perfect place to enjoy nature! - Wonderful location - it is very peaceful and the donkey is so cute. The staff was incredibly helpful, the room is comfy and the breakfast delicious. Remember to order lunch in advance if you want to eat there.
- Li (10/5): Overall was an enjoyable and fantastic stay - Located 2mins walk down to the lavender farm using the green nature pathway. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Cleanliness of the room and bathroom was great. Feeding and combing the donkey was an additional delight experience. Overall was a great stay! Was a 30 mins walk from the JR station to the property. Before the property was an upslope. Suggest to take a cab/taxi if you have luggages. Other than that, everything was really great experience!
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent breakfast, deco of bed rooms, dinning room and reception.
- Cindy (10/5): Beautiful Pension - It was a beautiful pension, clean and comfortable. The place was a bit far from the busy city so it was very relaxing. We saw their friendly pet Donkey and a Fox! The staff were very accommodating and nice. The breakfast was superb, best tasting salad. We would want to be back! It is more convenient to have a car since public transportation is difficult but the kind staff was able to drive us to the station, we are so thankful.
Maybe a toilet at the 2nd flr would be better incase you want to pee at night.
- Amalie (10/5): Exceptional - Had a lovely stay, with an amazing breakfast and very clean facilities. The “mini-onsen” was a big plus. The staff were very kind and lovely:)
- Sophie (9/5): Enjoying and relaxing stay - I really enjoyed my stay here. It was only for one night on my way to snowboard in Furano. I had hired a car so it was easy for me to get there. It was very peaceful and the scenery was beautiful in winter. The area to eat breakfast was lovely and homely it had a nice feel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, especially as I speak very little Japanese. The room was very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay again. There is a cute donkey on the property as well!
- Tiga100 (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (9/5): Super convenient, friendly, clean and worth it for the price! - It was fantastic!
The hosts are really nice, we even got invited to a traditional dance in town.
The bathroom is like a little onsen! Really great! They didn't have a washing machine / dryer.
- Yufei (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Wonderful welcome to Hokkaido - Clean and cosy. We liked that the pillow was firm and provided good support. The indoor onsen was very refreshing. Breakfast was superb. Nothing
- Birgit (9/5): It was a very nice stay, a great starting point for hikes in the mountains, we felt very comfortable. - It is a very unique, owner lead house with private dorms, a nice and cozy rest/breakfast/dining area. A mixture of European and Japanese Breakfast is served everyday. Dinner on reservation. There are two bathrooms with shower and really hot bathtubs — very relaxing after a long day outside. Everything is very kind and calm and thoughtful.
Three are further donkeys in the yard, you can pet and —if you wish— feed together weiter the staff. Just beautiful Really the only point of criticism are the very few commonly used sanitary facilities. 2 toilets for women, 1 toilet and 1 urinal for men. 2 lockable shower rooms. If the house is fuller, there will certainly be longer waiting times here.
- Thibault (9/5): Superb -
- Julieta (8/5): Very good - Breakfast , family bath and location is good, very close to flower farm
- Tak (6/5): Pleasant - in general, our stay is acceptable. The entrance is not easy to find or overlook. Good thing is that a lady coming from Hong Kong who we can communicate with each other easy and she is friendly. entrance hard to find and sir conditioner not working properly
- Ka (8/5): Convenient location with good breakfast - Located close to the gardens Aircon in my room was not functioning well
- Gitanjali (9/5): Superb -
- Yihang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandy1115 (9/5): Superb - Great food, very friendly staff, and the fact that they have two donkeys is a surprise!
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chokey (8/5): Very good - Donkeys and nice dishes for dinner and breakfast, cozy house Pillow too stiff
