Guest Reviews
- Lucas (10/5): - Ótimo preço e silencioso. Minha segunda vez em Pai e segunda vez no KK Hut
- Emily (8/5): Very affordable for your own room. Very peaceful - I was upgraded to a larger room because it was off season, the decking and hammock are essential. The free coffee and bananas in the morning are nice No natural light in the room, toilets filled with flies. A little bit outside the main centre but this allowed more quiet
- Archie (10/5): -
- Felipe (10/5): Perfect if you're up for a rustic country feel - Very cozy, rustic, and local. It's simple living out in the country. I loved how big the bed was too, and the staff are accommodating, nice, and helpful :)
You do need to bring your own shower gel and shampoo, but they do provide towels.
- Acrobat (7/5): Tranquil and cheap , I’d stay again if there was air con - Staff amazing help book everything
Very private and in hills so peaceful 2 minutes from a nice breakfast spot and pick up available from hotel for day trips and trips to other bits of Thailand / Laos border room private £3.50pp a night so really affordable Holes in the walls for mosquitoes to get in but had mosquito net , no air con so nights were a bit toasty and bathrooms very basic sometimes no toilet roll
- David (10/5): -
- Synelcar (10/5): - Everything was perfect.. bathroom was in good condition and comfortable, beds were very comfortable, has mosquito net for the bed, fan was good and hammock outside it was a plus 😊 Nothing.. everything was beautiful
- Jasmine (10/5): Amazing value for money, can’t wait to go back. - Everything was great and you get hot drinks in the morning and a snack and drinking water throughout the day. Location is perfect and 5/10 minute walk to walking street Cockerels can be noisy at early hours
- Pierre (10/5): - Great hosts ! Decent cabin but don't expect so much, clean and best price !
The hammock is a plus

- Zoë (10/5): one of our favorite places we’ve stayed in Thailand - Amazing value for money, great location, run by a very accommodating family n/a
- Dean (10/5): Peaceful and Friendly Place - Great place to stay only a ten minute walk to peace and quiet away from town. Just Perfect !
- Cédric (10/5): - Parfait
- Gabrielle (10/5): -
- Jasmin (6/5): Too close to the road - The single hut was cute The hut is just next to the road and it was so noisy, I slept quite bad, woke up several times. Hate motorbikes.
- Gianluca (8/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): - Great location and definitely one of the coolest stays I've had, the private huts make for very affordable private rooms without losing any amenities
- Lucy (10/5): - I loved the rural setting, the walk to town, the lovely family and the cats and the birds 🐦
- Guillermo (8/5): Great and recommended - Family run, rustic experience with all you need and not from town. Wifi worked perfectly and made it to the hut.
Water is provided as well.
- rachael (10/5): quiet, calm, clean and cozy - rustic, exceptionally clean and tidy and across the river from the madness of the pai zoomers on scooters.
- Raymond (10/5): Would stay again, 1 of bucket list completed thank you - Enjoyed four nights out in mountain wilds cheap, good vibes with all on site, enjoyed , lovely family who care for your every need and breakfast was 10/10 for £9.50 gbp. Can’t fault. Bit noisy bikes cockerels in nite, but ha ho, we in mountain jungle with pack packers on bikes not a problem no real complaints loved my stay…. Thank you ❤️❤️
- biserna (10/5): Positivo - Posto ben curato cordialissimi colazione con banane e caffè o te è molto tranquillo
- Dan (9/5): -
- William (8/5): Uncomfortable bed, great location, lovely hosts. - The location was great, slightly out of the centre so it was very peaceful - still easy to walk down whenever you want.
The hammock outside my hut was fantastic, such a great place to just sit and relax and watch all the chickens and cats wandering around.
The owners are a lovely family who are super polite and speak excellent English - very helpful.
The property was very clean too, and the mosquito net over the bed was excellent and a total essential in such a humid place!!! My main complaint would be the bed. Probably the least comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. It really was like sleeping on a duvet just on top of a wooden box. The shower pressure was pretty poor too.
I would say this is made up for by the location and the other aspects of the hut.
- Nicolas (10/5): Awesome -

- Ye Qin (10/5): Great stay! - Nice clean private room
Friendly and helpful owners who gave some recommendations of the surroundings
About 10-12 min walk to the walking street in Pai
Quiet at night without the city's noise.
Highly recommended! Shower pressure could be better but that didn't really affect my stay.
- Anthony (10/5): - Wonderful family. Lots of cats which I love... Outdoor cats. Simple, rustic. Sorry walk to town.
- Schmit (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Picturesque oasis, not far from the town but felt like a farm stay. The hosts made us feel very welcome and looked after. The tours available to book are also good value. They also run a taxi service into the town if you dont want to walk 10 minutes. Beds were a bit hard but that seems common across Thailand
- Greg (10/5): - Personnel super sympa. On j'aurais aimé rallonger notre séjour là-bas tant c'était agréable.
- Charlie (10/5): Relaxing great stay in Pai - Such a lovely relaxing place to stay. In a location where you’re not bothered by the noise of the centre of Pai, but it’s only a short walk away. The family who run the huts are so friendly, putting on teas and coffees in the morning, and the huts themselves are so cozy. Waking up to the sounds of a cockerel and going and relaxing in our hammock is exactly what we wanted from Pai and we got it here! Not the end of the world for us but be prepared for a wakeup call from the cockerels!
- maisie (9/5): -
- Teliang (10/5): -
- Colin (7/5): A nice quiet location only a short and easy walk from the centre of town. - A lovely quiet location with only a 10-15 min easy walk into the town centre.

- Mattia (10/5): -
- Isabelle (10/5): -
- Cassandra (10/5): :) - Calm and staff really sweet! The room is good, the bed is comfy. You can go walk around easily, it's so pretty!
- Leia (8/5): Overall nice stay - Quiet location meanwhile very close to the downtown
Nice helpful owners
Mosquito bed above the bed The neighbour’s rooster was crowing on and off in the middle of KK Hut’s yard during day and night, as the fence between the guesthouse and their neighbour is incomplete. It was hard to fall asleep at night and impossible to go back to sleep if woken up by the rooster in the morning.
Very low water pressure.
- Roxana (10/5): -
- walter (10/5): -
- Nilla (9/5): - The location was nice. From the huts it was a 15 minutes walk to the centre. Close to huts there were several absolutely good restaurants with low prices.
Hut is a really unique place, but not really luxurious. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The mattress was hard.
- Roxana (10/5): - Todo!
- Ville (9/5): - Nice staff. Not too loud location and quite good price quality ratio (in the low season) Not much to complain, maybe toilet had few spider webs but thats all.
- Jacques (8/5): -
- David (10/5): Comfortable stay - I stayed for a month and was very comfortable. Laundry was cheap and efficient. Lovely family
- Larra (9/5): -
- Dino (9/5): Excellent budget accommodation in a peaceful setting - Friendly family owners, clean, VERY hot shower, complimentary instant coffee, tea, biscuits and fruit in the mornings, quiet, hammock, good vibes. Mattress and pillows a bit lumpy and not so comfortable, shower pressure low, but at this price point it’s not a big deal. Would stay here again for sure.
- Beau (9/5): Superb - It’s in a great location, with everything you need! The owner is very helpful it’s a short all to Pai centre.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - A quiet place run by a lovely family
- Liran (10/5): On of the best deals - Comfortable, huge bed, everything was easy, totally reasonable price, smily and welcome hostes. It seems like the place is still in a process of building, but it didn't bother much
- Maxime (9/5): Superb -
- María (10/5): Exceptional - Very good hostel! A comfortable and quiet place.
- Holly (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (7/5): Cheap option on the outskirts of Pai. - Was in a quiet area of Pai. Scenic. There wasn't a whole lot of effort put into the hostel. We were asked to check ourselves in, the walls hadn't been painted in ages, no mosquito-proofing, fan only with poor ventilation, bad drainage in the bathroom.
- Flavio (10/5): Exceptional - Incredibile quality for the price
- Richard (8/5): This is the Thailande I was looking for. - Location and the owners attention
- Brogan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhibo (9/5): Enjoyed my stay - Just outside the town and easy access to nature, having 3 very good restaurants within 100 m, friendly owners, clean room and facilities, comfy bed, and green environment.
- Jamie (9/5): Very homely and peaceful. Great value for money! - Family who run it are lovely and great value for money.
Around 15 minutes walk from centre so nice and quite but bear in mind if you don’t like to walk much.
- Giulia (8/5): Very good -
- Knox (9/5): Superb - Really nice staff
- Mara (8/5): Lovely place to stay - It’s nice to have a private space which we got so that was a huge plus. In the beginning we were a little concerned that it might be too hot at night because there is just a little fan in the hut, but it gets quite cold at night so that was nice! It’s also really quiet at night!
The location is okay. Just a 15 minute walk outside of pai but we had a scooter so that wasn’t an issue at all. It’s good value for money, meaning that it is really basic!!
I had severe food poisoning while staying in Pai and I couldn’t sleep all night but they have a chair outside of every hut which saved my life. Also the walk to the toilet wasn’t far and the toilets were really clean! The bed is quite hard as it is just a mattress on a block! Because of my sickness I couldn’t get comfortable at all and I was in pain all night. My friend was fine though so I guess it was just because of me being ill! 🙂
- Geoffrey (7/5): Good - In the countryside
- Jamiekarl (10/5): Nowhere beats KK Hut for value and hospitality - I work remotely, so wifi is important - KK Hut has great, fast and stable wifi, connecting over 100mbps.
I stayed in a small private bungalow, it was spacious enough for 1 person, and I was comfortably able to sit at the little table inside and work from my laptop.
The staff are incredible too, always willing to help and always keeping the shared spaces clean - e.g. bathroom, toilet, communal sitting area.
Breakfast is simple yet enough, coffee, biscuits, bananas, cant go wrong! This wasn't a problem for me personally, but be aware there are local chickens that will sing glorious melodies of awakening from 5am onwards haha so you have a real authentic alarm clock!
- Cody (8/5): Economical and comfortable all things considered - - Super friendly and accommodating couple who operate KK hut
- Daily coffee and bananas
- Free drinking water
- Kitties - Roosters can be a little disruptive early in the morning but they kind of add to the charm
- Mary (9/5): Peaceful & relaxing stay in a private hut - Loved the little hut we had and able to sit in the hammock was really nice! Bed and shower/toliets were clean. Whole place felt peaceful Wasn’t too far from town but there is a bit of a hill to walk up, but easy enough to get around on a moped!
- Paola (9/5): Superb -
- Chiara (10/5): Lovely hut in serene location - Nice cute hut out of city main road, 10 min walk, so absolutely fine! I loved the hammock outside the hut, and I did some yoga with cats a chickens around me, which I found super nice. Nearby there are restaurants (one on top of the hill is a great location for sunset!) so if you don’t feel like going to the Main Street, you have your options.
Bathroom ok (I grew up camping so I’m used to more “wild” commodities), shower is big and had hot water - which I didn’t expect so it was a nice surprise!
WiFi could be improved but honestly, you don’t want to spend time on your phone or computer while here!
Expect roosters in the morning! It will be a nice wake up call :)
- @hoponthemap (10/5): Lovely stay, perfect if you want a quiet place - Run by a local family. We had a small problem but they helped us to sort it very quickly. The place is very clean and quiet. We had the first bungalow next to the reception. A little breakfast was available with hot water, coffee, tea, banana and biscuits which was unexpected and very nice. We used laundry service and we were very happy with it. The area is a short walk from the touristy center. Would return here again! @hoponthemap
- Roberta (7/5): Good -
- Luuk (8/5): Cheap, but nice stay - Breakfast, quiet at night, cheap -
- Seann (8/5): Peaceful private huts a stones throw from the town centre - I’ll be honest, looking at the pictures of this place I was a little nervous about being eaten alive by bugs at night. But the bed and mattress were perfectly clean/bug free and a mosquito net above the bed did a perfect job of keeping any mosquitos at bay. So my fears weren’t justified.
The location was great, on the outskirts of town so it was very peaceful at night but only a 10 min walk to the hustle and bustle of town.
Free coffee and biscuits in the mornings. If I have to find something. The mattress was a bit too thin. The water pressure in the shower was quite weak. Neither of these things would put me off coming back here if I’m ever in Pai again.
- Kenza (10/5): A peaceful and authentic experience in the heart of nature - I absolutely loved being surrounded by nature and waking up to the sounds of roosters and other animals in the morning. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, and the family was incredibly kind and welcoming. <3 It would have been nice to have a small table in the room to place items on. That’s the only thing missing
- Alireza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moises (9/5): Superb - Great value for money The room is small as expected
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here for the past 3 years, lovely family, very peaceful it's perfect for a long stay Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Cosy, convenient, cats
- Rae (9/5): Pleasant, clean, calm and basic huts - Incredible spot of land with 10 huts. Basic but very clean. Hut was spacious and had a hammock and chair on the porch. Bathroom is just a short walk and was clean. Free coffee/ tea in the a.m. cute common hut to chill in. Nice cats and chickens running about. A lovely fog in the morning. Host Family was pleasant. -staff were not present during our check in time and we had to wait 15 minutes but it was ok. There was a common area hut to sit in. Mai bpen rai. Be aware though that they do often leave a sign out that says “no staff please wait” and you can call or text the number on whats ap and wait. We even pre-arranged our time (2-3pm) and even in the afternoon they were not there. In case you have a timeline/schedule please be aware of this. That said, the family is pretty nice.
-Child yelled “farang” at us which yes, just means “foreigner” but is quite rude to yell at someone.
-only 2 bathroom stalls for all the huts (10 huts)
- Patrycja (10/5): Exceptional - KK Hut was one of our favourite accommodations during our 2 months Thailand trip. The location is great - it’s very close from the city centre but also a little bit on side, so it’s very quiet and you can feel the countryside vibe. The kitties that live at this place are super cuddly and we miss them everyday.
- Eva (10/5): Amazing place, highly recommendet! - I loved my stay at KK Hut. The price for value is amazing, it's cheaper than many dorm rooms! The owners are very kind people and were always very helpful and nice. I loved the location too, you can just chill in the hammock and watch all the chicken and cute cats :)
The bathroom was always clean and the shower has actually hot water which is not always the case in numerous other budget accommodations in Pai. I extended my stay and would have loved to stay even longer if it wouldn't have been booked out.
The location is a bit outside of the walking street, it is a 10 minutes walk away. I personally loved it and I felt very calm and relaxed while still being able to easily walk everywhere but the place is probably best for everyone who wishes for a quiet and peaceful stay.
The bed is nice too, it is a bit harder than in European countries but I've had way worse.
The huts don't provide any soundproofing so you hear everything that happens outside. But I stayed during the busiest season and never had any issues, the place seemed to attract pretty chill and respectful people :) As mentioned earlier, the place is in a quiet part and don't expect any soundproofing from the walls. I just want to mention it because not everyone might be looking for that. Personally, I loved being away from the busy part of Pai and falling asleep to the sounds of nature :)
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - A nice guy put some basic huts in his backyard. Good place if you want some space after the party hostels.
- Matan (9/5): Very recommended - good location, walking distance to the walking street but in a quite beautiful environment. Hosts are very nice, I think it was great value for the price in Pai
- Nicole (7/5): Simple bungalow ok for 1 night - Mosquito netting, lots of hangers, balcony with hammock, water refill
