Guest Reviews

- Louise (3/5): Will definitely not be back. - The bed was comfortable . Noise of the bar. Noise of guests in adjoining rooms. Room did not have access to veranda. Light in the passage that constantly turned on with other guests movements. Not a pleasant experience.
- Mitchell (5/5): -
- Alastair (8/5): -
- Lee (2/5): not for family with young kids or people who are noise sensitive while sleeping. - above the pub/hotel had to be separated from my family (2 adults + 2 kids), no toilets or bathroom connected to the rooms, toilets/showers shared with other people, noisy for kids, rooms weren’t clean - mould of ceilings, only 1 electrical plug
- Terrianne (7/5): No frills, clean and comfortable - Clean and comfortable bed. Shower and toilet facilities were clean. Staff were lovely and explained everything and were helpful when needed. A bit noisy due to band downstairs and too much light coming through windows from verandah.
- Marg (8/5): Weekend in Warwick - I stayed in a suite , it was spacious and very clean with crisp bed linen .Perfect for a weekend stay. No milk in fridge and that us my only complaint. Very minor issue.
- Lois (6/5): The staff were great and the pub food was pretty good. - The property was right in the heart of the city so accessible to all the shops and restaurants. Nice big veranda to sit on. It was quite noisy being on the main street and the hall sensor lights kept shining through the fan light into the bedroom throughout the night.
- Ed (9/5): - . .
- Maria (4/5): - The bed was comfortable Fleas in the pillows, peeling paint and stained carpet, smelly water in the room sink, verandah under repair. No blind on the window - too much light in the room from the shopping centre across the street. Hole in the door like an axe cut.
- scott (5/5): Good - Location For a very basic room, I felt it was a bit overpriced.
- Tim (8/5): - Great food. Great pub. Too expensive for what you get.
- Edward (3/5): - They like to throw a party when everyone is in bed asleep so unless you like music and to stay awake all night that’s great
- Guest (5/5): -
- Dunphy (5/5): - The bed was comfortable Paint peeling off walls. Unable to access verandah from room. Booked a verandah room. Poor ventilation Verandah light shone directly into room all night. Shower in communal bathroom in poor condition
Very tired building. No staff on premises on day of arrival as public holiday.
- Deanne (10/5): - Clean rooms
Nice vibe N/a
- LEE (10/5): - The manager Ben is the best human you'll ever meet. Made the stay tremendous and I will definitely be back. Loved the character of the hotel. Very classic and full of history
- David (7/5): -
- David (7/5): Good good - The location was good .just about every thing love these old hotels Nothing
- Brew (10/5): Great staff & clean room in the towns CBD - Central location
- Nicole (3/5): Over priced for a noisy basic hotel room without a bathroom - The bed was very comfortable The curtains were see through and other guests using the balcony till late in the evening (midnight) could see into the room.
It was very noisy btw the guests in the veranda and the karaoke
There was no milk in the common area to make a cup or tea or coffee in the morning
- Graham (6/5): - The clock bells keep you Awake The clock bells
- trent (4/5): - It was like being in a Scooby doo carton and I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you kids The loud music coming from down stairs
- Bonnie-Anne (8/5): -
- David (1/5): It's a place to avoid. Was conned by fake reviews - Nil Run down dive. Broken bed, bugs, brown stained sink from leaking tap, black mould around hole in corridor ceiling where rain leaks
- Jessica-Lynn (8/5): -
- Stephen (4/5): Goodluck in your future endeavours - The bed sheets were clean and tidy, not a bedbug in sight thank goodness, as for the bathrooms, these to were clean and tidy. I wish I could give a more positive outlook but the sad truth is, I can't. Arrived at the reception area, and waited for almost 15 minutes to be seen to, because there was only one person working at the bar. If he didn't go looking for anyone, we would have waited far longer. We signed in got our key and went to our room. Ahhh, the bedroom. Plenty of room to swing a cat, we had a wardrobe that was locked, no key. Couldn't hang our clothes up anywhere, there was a bed and it was broken, on the side closest to the window all the legs were at a 45 degree angle. The amount of times I stubbed my toes was crazy. The bottom of the bed underneath in the middle had snapped and the springs were loose and very bouncy. Dinnertime, dinner was, well late, from ordering to serving over an hour, due to being understaffed. The food wasn't the best, and gave me problems the rest of the night as well as the morning. But it was just toilet duties keeping me up. Because of the bed springs, each time my wife rolled over during the night, I was tossed to the floor. OK the first time was a bit funny but that wore off very quickly after the 2nd 3rd and 4th time. OK the Criterion Hotel is old, and it has its charm from its creaky floorboards but that said, I won't be going back.
- Wolfgang (8/5): Was great - I love how the old building style has been preserved and well looked after
- Robert (7/5): - Simplicity and off street parking. The church bells tolling each and every hour was annoying.
- Ken (6/5): -
- Lorys (3/5): -
- Martin (8/5): -
- David (8/5): Exactly what we needed - Excellent, service, food, location and friendly and hospitable staff
- Daws (2/5): -
- Jennalee (10/5): It was lovely would stay again - Very old fashioned and I loved that nothing
- Steve (8/5): pleasant and safe - I liked the staff, the safety, and the relaxed quiet atmosphere TV in room, air conditioning
- Debra (1/5): Shocking - Nothing have requested refund Dirty
- Jessica (5/5): Average - Location Parts of the building leaked buckets were put out to catch the water.
No aircon in the rooms
- Anita (10/5): -
- Shane (3/5): Good to get you under a roof and in a bed if you have no other choice, not worth the price though. - Central to everything Beds were clapped out no aircon and no screens on the window which allowed us to be eaten alive by mozzies.
- Norton (2/5): - No air conditioning, doors onto verandah wouldn't lock
- Peter Andrew (3/5): Don’t do it - Position Burnt meal at high price
Very hot room
Broken legs on double bed
- Colleen (5/5): Ok for a cheap one night stay but it’s noisy - The price was good room ok The town clock chimed every hour throughout the night … too noisy for a good night sleep .
- Johann (John) (8/5): - It was reasonable. Shared bathrooms, but thats what I paid for
- Timon (10/5): -
- Taylah (3/5): -
- Mikaela (6/5): -
- Love (7/5): - Great location, nice balcony, nice room, comfortable bed. No kettle or TV in room.
- Alison (10/5): -
- Stephen (5/5): Noisy - The staff were helpful. The curtains were translucent and did not block out any light. There is a window above the door that can be opened. It is clear and every time someone triggers the automatic lights when they walk past it wakes you up.
- Simon (7/5): I enjoyed the venue and will definitely be back soon. - Loved having access to the large verandah. That really was a nice touch. They ran out of steak early on a Friday night which was disappointing. But these things happen.
- Ryan (2/5): Disappointing - Very central in town None of the photos look like what you see.
It’s very tired and needs a lot of love to bring it back up. Lots of peeling paint. Leaking showers
- Donna (1/5): Horrible. - Horrible experience, a single uncomforable bed in a room, music from hotel played till early hours, sensor light went off outside of room everytime someone walked past. Accomodation needs immediate attention, definately not up to standard.
- Bruce (7/5): - Location Bed very uncomfortable, broken. No air conditioning in the room. Poorly maintained generally.
- Rachel (5/5): -
- rex (7/5): - Great food Poor shower
- Tyler (1/5): - Got no sleep hallway light kept turning on could hear music blaring all night
- Parker (10/5): -
- Hurtz (10/5): -
- Russell (8/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): Friendly staff, excellent location & service, beautiful old building - Excellent location, the bar & restaurant, easy and safe parking, shared bathrooms were clean
- william (8/5): Lovely old Hotels and their charm can’t beat it - The old charm Noisy neighbours that must have been on the gear as 3am yaks were overboard
- Brian (6/5): Good for the price - Central location The hot water seemed to cut out then back on during shower. There was not anyone using the other shower at the same time.
- victor (4/5): -
- ELizabeth (8/5): - Room was clean and shared toilet bathroom also.
A place to put our heads down at night, after a great day at the Warwick Celtic Festival.
- Nell (5/5): A disappointing stay. - The location of this Hotel is excellent, right in the centre of town, both close to the shopping centre and cafes/restaurants.
Plenty of off-street parking is provided at the back of the hotel, or you can park on the street in front. The staff and housekeeping didn't restock the hand towels in the bathroom, which ran out on our first night. Two families were staying two doors up from us that night, and we expected the young children to be noisy. However, it was the adults and their teenage kids who were loud very early the next morning and showed no consideration for other guests staying in the hotel.
On our second night, after an okay sleep, even though the bed legs stuck out on the right side of the bed and you had to be careful not to trip on them, we were awoken by housekeeping vacuuming at 7 am.
In one of the bathrooms, neither of the shower doors would close, and water spilled everywhere. Our room had a wardrobe; however, it was unusable as the door was nailed shut, and no other hanging options were available for our clothes or used bath towels to dry. There were no screens on the windows, and the curtains were sheer, so they didn't stop the morning light from pouring in.
There are no bedside tables; instead, there is a chair on one side and a single power outlet next to the door, making it unusable unless you have an extension cord.
- Anne (7/5): -
- David (6/5): Cheap bed for the night would stay again if passing through town - It was a cheap bed for the night which was all we needed The shared bathroom facilities were very old and could do with just a minor update for ease of use but they served their purpose. But considering the price they were excellent
- Laine (9/5): - I loved that when the room I was allocated was not up to standard the staff moved me in to another room with an incredible upgrade! It was super noisy from 8am till midnight being Karaoke night, but it is a pub room and I did stay on a Saturday night.
- Betty (7/5): Good price for good location. Staff were amazing - Lots of old world charm. Centre of city. Great dinner Noise but it was a Saturday night. Rooms at the back of hotel were quieter. No tea making facilities in the room
- Scott (8/5): -
- jennifer (7/5): - Clean and close to everything Nothing
- Shane (8/5): Very enjoyable and a great base for my motorcycling. - Location, price, clean and very tidy. Staff were very professional and helpful.
Undercover parking for my bike. Other guests taking my things out of fridge in guest room. Lesson learnt.
- Barma (10/5): -
- Deborah (7/5): -
- Cecilia (10/5): - We stayed in the "Princess" room at the Criterion which has its own bathroom. It is an old hotel but the room has been refurbished and is great value for money. Very spacious and lots of old world charm. There is a pub downstairs so a bit of noise from that but convenient for dinner. We stayed during the week so wasn't that noisy.
- Jay (9/5): - The staff were very helpful in accommodating. Everything was neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable. And location was very central.
- Ian (10/5): - So bad that we did not stay
- Murray (8/5): - Location. Nice old tradition Qld Pub.
- Nicolson (8/5): - Great meals and friendly staff Room 5 had dripping on the ceiling from rain fall. Needs to be fixed. Needs to have bedside cupboards
- putt (5/5): Stay somewhere else. - Customer service was great food was excellent Bedroom tied bed uncomfortable shower unclean never cleaned the whole time i was there,
- Norm (9/5): -
- Anne (7/5): Not too bad would stay there again - The property was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The only problem is once you were in the shower itself you’re not able to clip the shower door shut it kept going open. And there should’ve been a bedside table in between the two beds. That there was no bedside table in between the two beds
- April (10/5): -
- Jim (8/5): -
- Matt (7/5): Good Pub stay in warwick. - It’s a Pub. It was just fine and I would not hesitate going back. Nothing It was all good.
- william (8/5): great spot to overnight in Warwick - perfectly adequate accommodation no frills clean and comfortable
- Cynthia (1/5): - Nothing Alot as we were not told on the ad that there was stairs which we had to ascend and descend, which is difficult for older people.
I sent through an email for a refund and got no responses.

- Andrew (7/5): Value, Good home base to explore the area - Location was great, friendly staff One of the showers didn’t work and went from hot to cold quickly and then stayed cold, had to search around for another one that worked.
- Roger (8/5): - Ideal location, central
- wendy (8/5): -
- Cheryl (7/5): Location was great - Location The noise but to be expected I guess but some patrons are out of control as well as hotel guests talking at the top of their voices all through the night.
Bring earplugs definitely
- Doug (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (10/5): Nice night ! - Staff member !
Room Very Clean ! The volume of the slot machines is somewhat high and can be a bit disturbing
