- Ludovica (7/5): Bello!

- Arianna (10/5): - The night we spent in the treehouse was an unparalleled experience. In the Yala area, close to the famous national park, there is a small forest where the treehouses stand about 7 meters above the ground, spaced far apart to ensure complete privacy.
Although the accommodation is minimal (as it should be), it features a comfortable bed enclosed in a mosquito net, a fan, a bathroom, and a shower — all handcrafted but built with very solid architecture.
We had dinner at their restaurant: the food was delicious, the portions generous, and the space well cared for. Finally, the staff also arranged for a jeep driver to take us on a wonderful sunset safari.
Highly recommended!!!
- Jozef (7/5): Fijne, dienstbare mensen.
- Karolina (3/5): Bygone beauty - The idea of Tree Houses was nice but clearly this resort has been forgotten and is in need of serious maintenance. The experience of being in a tree house itself was nice, but nothing in the bathrooms worked (we had two treehouses), the area around the treehouses was covered in discarded plastic sheets and bottles- clearly nobody thought it would be a good idea to clear the plastic litter from the property. Food was a - simple (ok) but incredibly expensive for what it was. Breakfast was a joke - cold fried egg, toasts with only the top slice of bread of the pile toasted. This place clearly needs some substantial TLC and investment. Bathrooms leaking, not working, netting torn, plastic bottles and plastic litter scattered around the place. Very expensive food for what it was - should have been a fraction of the price.
- federica (8/5): - Dormire su un albero. Abbiamo organizzato il safari con loro e non ci siamo trovati bene con il driver (non parlava inglese e il pomeriggio abbiamo praticamente fatto lo stesso percorso della mattinatap)
- Gordon (7/5): Great concept of tree houses but needs some more tender love and care. - Great concept of having tree huts. The main staff member was extremely helpful. Loved the out in the bush feel about the place. Quite a lot of rubbish around the property. A fair amount of maintenance needed to the tree houses and associated areas.
- Olivia (8/5): Very good - Cabin is a great adventure, and the bed was very comfy. I wish the booking confirmation had been more clear that paying with cash was the only option, the ATM is not close.
- F.v. (4/5): Disappointing - The staff are super nice and very helpful. We arrived in the pouring rain at night and they were already waiting for us with umbrella and Flash lightes. Because there were small streams all over the area, we were escorted to our accommodation. The breakfast was typically Sri Lankan and good. The tree house is very simply furnished but completely adequate and, as promised, you are in the middle of nature. 1. before arrival we were told that the safari in Yala National Park for 2 people (full day) would cost 300$ if we booked it through the accommodation. As the price was too expensive for us, we booked the full-day safari ourselves. On arrival, the staff then reduced the price to 180$, which was cheaper than our tour, so we booked the safari through the accommodation after all.
2. as the in-house restaurant was closed, we were offered to order any Sri Lankan meal for 3000 rupees per person. As this was again too expensive for us, we declined. On the second evening, we were unable to leave the accommodation for health reasons, so we were forced to order something at the accommodation. Unfortunately, we could only order fried rice for 3000 rupees per person.
From these two experiences, despite the really nice hospitality, we got the impression that the tourists were simply being ripped off.
We only chose the Yala Beddegama Eco Resort because we wanted to stay in the tree house accommodation. On arrival, we were already wondering how tight the roof really was. Unfortunately, it rained heavily on the first evening and as a result, not only the floor and table but also the beds were wet. The other tree houses were not occupied and on request we were not able to spend the night there either (probably because the beds there were also wet), i.e. we spent the night in a normal cabin. As there were also thunderstorms the following day and the roof was not tight, we stayed in the normal cabin. On the day of departure we were still charged the price for the more expensive tree house.
Overall, the price-performance ratio is poor. The booked rooms were not habitable in the rain and were still charged.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this accommodation.
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
- Davina (1/5): Bad - Nothing stayed one night out of four and had to pay for 4 nights There was no restaurant that was stated.no tea coffee facilities.cold bought in dinner over priced and under cooked chicken.manger sold us a safari 15mln after we arrived, quoting us 18000 for got to mention the additional 21000 for entrance fee.we were so disappointed we had to leave but had to pay for the full 4 night.your site clearly states restaurant facilities by far the worst property I have ever booked with booked.com
We would ever have booked this property had we known the lack of facilities.we really fill you should update your help information regarding this property.i am sure you are aware of some of the terrible reviews on your site.clerley the worst place we have stayed in sri lanka and over priced to 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
- Kate (6/5): Not impressed by the pricing of food and beer - The treehouses are rustic and as they appear in the photographs. It is a great experience to stay a night in a treehouse but very expensive compared to other accommodation in Sri Lanka They say they have a restaurant but they don’t. We ordered dinner and unbeknownst to us it was bought for us from Somewhere outside. We were charged 3000LKR each for a dinner of basic fried rice & a few bit of dried chicken. It was our most expensive meal in Sri Lanka. The beer is also a rip off at 1250LKR for a 500mk can of Lion. This was real shame as the manager Sidart is a lovely man but the whole experience ended up being our most expensive night in Sri Lanka by far. They need to get more realistic with their pricing and don’t advertise that you have a restaurant if you don’t.
- Peter (10/5): Rustic and beautiful - A super cool way to spend a couple of nights, the treehouse was really fun. It's rustic, rugged and everything we were hoping for. Its absolutely beautiful. The staff are fantastic, super friendly and always on hand to help out. The food was excellent. If you get the chance, I highly recommend taking 15 minutes to spend some time looking around the ancient tree on their grounds in the jungle, it's breathtaking. Nothing, we loved it. It's pretty basic in terms of facilities which is exactly what we were expecting, but if you're looking for the lap of luxury this isn't the place for you. If you want an outdoor living experience, in a treehouse then this is absolutely the place you should visit.
- Johanna-leena (7/5): Treehouses themselves were truly awesome experience. - Treehouses were really nice and property in general has a cool style. During our stay it was raining, we we’re not able to use our extra bed, one would have to take that into consideration. The chef was amazing, we had all three meals there. Sadly the prices we’re not transparent, drinks we ordered were 1500 lkr and extra meals were 3000 lkr so not your usual prices in Sri Lanka, but if that’s in your price range then no problem. We found some of the owner’s actions not sincere and constant begging for a good Google review didn’t make it better. One writes a good review when the experience was good, not when one asks for it.
- Tabitha (3/5): Poor -
- Natalie (7/5): Good -
- Perkins (7/5): Good - staff were great and the rooms were comfortable. very out of the way of the town centre. meals were quite expensive.
- Andrew (10/5): Would recommend this place to anyone. Great staff and a brilliant way to enjoy the Yala safari - The staff were super friendly and helpful The tree house was amazing. Felt like being in a jungle.
- Tom (10/5): Amazing experience - The experience of sleeping up in the trees, hearing critters crossing the roof, the incredible friendliness of the staff and the tasty food they cooked for us.
I've treated everything as high as I can, but I'm rating it as a tree house. The bed was clean and comfy, but the shower is a bamboo pipe (and cold!) which is what I expect living in a tree house! It was great watching the monkeys, birds and squirrels playing in the canopies of the trees around us.
The staff were incredible, making us feel like we were the only people staying there (it was full for both nights that we stayed), showing us the sights around the property and talking us through the meals, what went into them and how to cook them. Nothing, I would go back in a heartbeat.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic eco resort in the forrest. Nothing
- Sofia (10/5): UNIQUE LOCATION - EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING ! THE PLACE ,THE PEOPLE, WORTH TO VISIT 100%
- Vipul (5/5): Passable - Being Eco stay, our expectations were not so high. However, the cottages given to us were leaky through the roof as there were rains. Maybe they could not fix it in time. At the time of checkout, they were fixing it though.
- Monika (1/5): Avoid at all costs - Nothing that we liked, it is a disaster Our stay at this property was a complete disappointment.
1. No Welcome on Arrival: We were left stranded upon arrival with no staff to greet us or provide assistance.
2. Breakfast Not Provided: Despite paying for a breakfast-inclusive package, no breakfast was offered or available.
3. Unhygienic and Unsafe Facilities: The mudhouse was in terrible condition—dark, rundown, and infested with insects and bugs. The ceiling was crumbling, and debris fell onto the already dirty bedsheets and pillows. Toilets were in an open outdoor area, with the “guest toilet” being laughably inadequate.
4. Locked Out for Safari: The most distressing part was being locked in when we needed to leave for a safari tour at 5 AM. With all gates locked and no staff available, we were forced to climb over fences, damaging our clothes and creating unnecessary stress.
This property is far from the peaceful getaway it claims to be. The lack of basic hospitality, cleanliness, and safety measures made this one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and well-being.
- Mia (10/5): Great experience - so glad we done this whilst we were in Sri Lanka! - The staff were so kind, they couldn’t do enough for us. We had welcome juices upon arrival and they insisted on carrying all of our luggage in and to our rooms (or tree house). It was the perfect stay for someone looking to do something a bit different. Nothing - it was great. Just be aware that you are literally staying in the trees in the jungle , the tree houses are netted and the beds also have mosquito nets but there are lots of animals on site - monkeys , peacocks , frogs, iguanas , lizards etc. So if you are concerned about this then this isn’t the place for you!
- Neanor (6/5): Pleasant - Tree house No fridge, no kettle and cold water shower.
- Eran (10/5): Sri Lanka 💛💛 - If you’re in for an adventure, don’t hesitate. Great out (like in) door experience. Nice local staff and you get a jungle night with all facilities. Just as an fyi - I don’t think they have hot water. Didn’t bother us
- Claire (9/5): Great service, great location, great experience. - The treehouses were beautifully created and well maintained in the grounds of the hotel, just a short drive from the entrance to Yala National Park where we were visiting. The staff were really kind and made breakfast as a picnic for us as we were up so early for our safari and in the evening made us a fantastic meal. Nothing really - I think it’s a great concept and really fun.
- Johnny (10/5): Super friendly and well kept resort, good value for money, well done 👍 - The rooms are spread out given you privacy.
Super friendly and caring staff
Wonderful dinner
Quite and calm eco resort Nothing we stayed a couple of nights, while we went on safari
- Cassiopee (9/5): Superb - A very exotic night in the middle of the woods surrounded by the sounds of the wildlife. The staff is very helpful and their curry was super tasty!
- Kalum (9/5): Superb - The location and rooms are superb and they are more comfortable during our stay. The food was delicious. Nothing everything is perfect during our stay
- Federico (7/5): Good - Curios . To spend maximum 1 night. Yhe shower didnt work properly. Too close to the road. You heard the tráffic!
- Maduka (7/5): Good -
- Tomer (9/5): Superb -
- Rosa (9/5): Adventure in a jungle book like environment! - We stayed in one of the treehouses and it was very fun. The room is spacious, clean (for being outside) and the bathroom feels like you’re in the jungle book. While staying in a place with no walls can be strange, it was actually very comfortable and we slept pretty well. The staff were hilarious. There were only two people, it being down season I think, and they were so friendly and accommodating. Spoke barely any english but made it work nonetheless. When a money broke into our treehouse and broke our sink (?!) they fixed it within 10mins and made sure it wouldn’t happen again. The food is a little expensive compared to other places in Sri Lanka. Dinner was rice and curry (which was very tasty) and costed 2000 LKR per person. It’s also worth mentioning once again that the treehouse is open. Meaning animals can get in (we had a BUNCH of frogs, monkeys & lizards). While this wasn’t really a problem for us, I think I would advise picking another place to stay if you’re not up for adventure.
- Andreea (10/5): Best tree house experience in the middle of nature - Everything!! It was an AMAZING experience. Sleeping almost outside in the middle of the nature is something that everyone should try at least once in a lifetime. We stayed in a tree house, which was very clean for an open space, with nets for keeping monkeys out, very clean bed sheets and towels (not so often in Sri Lanka), excellent food and very good prices for a remote location (full of nature and animals around you). The staff was amazingly warm and helpful with everything. I recommend this place 10000%. For sure will come back here if we will visit Yala again.
Not a location for 5 stars hotel kinda people, otherwise you will love it. Also, we liked that they improved their game, now you can find toiletries and better food (we loved it) so they really take into account the feedback received.
Make sure you understand that this is a safari area so going out of the premises by yourself can be dangerous, so book your lunch and dinner with them as little options are available in the area (we had a car and it was pretty difficult to find a decent lunch place around in the arrival day) -- they will ask you at arrival so you don't need to hustle before.
They offer safari at a good price, also. Nothing to mention, just 2 little improvements:
- the insect net around bed had little holes in it but we had no problem with any insects due to them. Maybe in the near future is worth a refresh of them.
- wifi near the tree houses, as it works only near the lobby/eating area (there is working very well)
Otherwise, as mentioned above, we loved it!!
- Lea (9/5): Nice peaceful, rustic, stay in nature - It was lovely unique, rustic, stay, right in nature, we saw and heard all animals from our little tree house, and it was very peaceful. They also helped us organize our safari which was nice and
- Hilal (10/5): Great NEW experience - Great experience especially for the kids to try the tree house.
Staff service was great, and Mr. Lucky was so supportive.
Breakfast and dinner taste and variety was amazing. They dont accept card payments
In the night its bit scary with lot of insects and moving creatures inside and outside the house.
- Sarah (9/5): A tranquil stay amidst a hectic schedule where Lakshma and Sachin were superb hosts/chef - Remote nature, people (especially the people), the ethos, the set up.
- Rhodri (8/5): A unique enjoyable stay in the treehouse - Quite the experience. You really are staying in the elements which was quite an experience. Be prepared for an array of bugs and animals. The treehouse was great and had all amenities we required. Staff were fantastic and very helpful, even woke at 5am and prepared us a packed lunch and to see us off for our safari. We had food there and it was slightly more expensive than was expecting. This is likely down to remoteness, but you aren’t told of price of dinner until after you’ve eaten.
- Zacharidesová (10/5): Exceptional - Such an experience! Sleeping in the nature surrounded with the nature. If you are looking for something different and exciting, this is it! The host was very kind and friendly. He was a true lover of nature and he took us for a walk nearby and showed us the largest badian tree we have ever seen. Ready to prepare dinner, breakfast and arrange safari (with a driver respectful to animals) or taxi to the nearest city. We recommend this experience a lot to travellers who are looking for something special. -
- Lahiru (8/5): Good experience! Prices are affordable and staff was very friendly - Nice location and friendly staff Overall we liked the property. They should maintain the facilities bit more
- Ian (4/5): It was fun to be woken up by the monkeys. - The staff were very helpful doing their absolute best under difficult circumstances. The place was very run down. The path to my tree house was more like a stream of sewage. Food and drink offer was very limited.
- Joanna (2/5): Totally overpriced with bad customer service - The only plus of this place is that the beds and towels were clean. The tree cottages were really simple so we had impression that this place is really overpriced as there were no facilities whatsoever; no restaurant, no internet even in the lobby, the lobby itself really poor and not comfortable, not even a small piece of soap in the bathroom.
The impression of being ripped off continued as we talk to the personnel. Before our trip we wanted to book the yala safari and even though the communication with hotel was difficult we managed to book and confirm safari. When we got to the hotel the personnel asked us if we want to book safari (???) and the price of safari suddenly was more expensive - they raise the price for $10 :/
We also asked to arrange tuk tuk to the city and the price they gave us was almost 3 times higher than it should be. The same with taxi as we wanted to go to tangalle after and their price was 20 000 and finally we arranged taxi for 10 000 !!!
They packed breakfast for the safari for us but it was only one sandwich and one banana, no drinks.
Last thing is that the drain in the bathroom was not working so after we took our showers the water stayed all over overnight and we had to wade in ankle-deep water if we wanted to use the toilet. Mosquito nets had big wholes in it and of course there were lots of insects as it’s a tree house.
- Jackie (10/5): Magical stay. - Amazingly constructed treehouses, well spaced apart, so you really feel you are part of the jungle. Very comfortable with everything you need. Lots of wildlife around. Was just the experience we were hoping for! Nothing
- Anis (10/5): Would do it again - The staffs are really amazing and kind-hearted people; Sampat was very sweet in tending to our needs :) None
- Rosalie (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful treehouse in the middle of the jungle. If you like to stay in unique, more adventurous accommodations then this is the place for you. It is comfortable and you fall asleep listening to the sounds of nothing but the nature around. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any questions you’d have. 100% recommend staying here!
- Mathias (9/5): Amazing night in the trees sourrounded by the sound of nature - Wonderful place in the nature. The personnel is very friendly.
They can organize your safari. We were a bit disappointed because we did not get the chance to see a lot of animals.
- Claudiu (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing experience of sleeping outdoors in the jungle. The tree house was very comfortable, with all necessary amenities.
Lucky is the soul of this place, a great person who will make the stay even better. A hot water shower would have been perfect after a rainy day, but the regular water was not too cold, so not much of an inconvenience
- Gian (8/5): Very good -
- Paweł (9/5): Amazing experience - sleeping in the tree crown within a jungle. Not for people used to 5-star hotel conditions. -
- Lenka (6/5): Nice surroundings but service has a lot to improve - you wake up to amazing sounds and views
for sri lanka, the bed was amazingly clean and comfy
i was worried about bugs and animals, but this was not a problem
big room
they booked a safari tour for us last-minute
right next to bus stop - big plus there was no mirror in the room or bathroom, no soap, no hand towel
no wifi
cold shower
very disappointing dinner and breakfast for the price
slow service, never available and not speaking english. i hate to criticize because they seemed nice but there's a LOT to improve. for example, they forgot to offer us tea, but the cups were on the table. when i aksed for a cup of tea and a cup of coffee, they brought a pot of coffee. meanwhile they took the water when we were not looking, which we were still drinking. but they left the butter and the jam on the table. always took them too long to bring the plates and to take them - but we were the only guests
when we were walking inside the tree house, it was really shaky - not sure if that's normal or not
there's nothing to do, really
atmosphere is off, because we were the only ones there. but this could be an advantage to some
the night was cold and windy, blanket was not enough
- Rob (6/5): Pleasant - We liked the friendly staff and the setting was truly in the middle of a beautiful area Expensive given the lack of facilities, no walls and the bathroom did not work well
- Anastasia (10/5): An experience not to miss - Our group had a great experience of staying in authentic tree houses! Complemented with an amazing 5-hour-long safari that the owners kindly organised for us (we saw several elephants, buffaloes, deers, peacocks etc.), and a tasty dinner around a bonfire, it was definitely one of the most unforgettable highlights of our Sri Lanka trip! A huge thanks to the team!
- Michael (10/5): Michael Iwaniszak England - Perfect location, superb staff, professional, You must stay for at least 3days and let the staff plan your visits to the safari parks ,trust them and they will deliver the perfect package to suit your family I cannot think of anything that I did not like, absolutely first class attention
- Prasanna_isiwara (7/5): Good -
