Guest Reviews
- Corinna (10/5): -
- Feuer Gawron (4/5): More like a guesthouse than a proper hotel. They refused to issue an invoice for EUR2500. - Blisko do Harrods i cicho.
- Rowan (9/5): Lovely overnight stay for a special occasion - The location was excellent and the staff were very attentive. The room, while small, was well appointed, and was very clean.
Breakfast quality was very good. In particular, we noticed the honey was of exceptional quality. While the room was very clean and linen and towels fantastic, some of the out of the way corridors could have had some attention.
We couldn't work out how to switch off the floor lamp by the TV overnight and didn't know if this was a fault or by design.
- Juliet (9/5): A really special treat - So close to the museums and Harrods, yet in a quiet and peaceful road. Lovely decor and facilities and such friendly staff. The mini bar was too well hidden! Nearly didn’t find my milk for a coffee in the room.

- Anne-Birte Rasmussen (10/5): -
- MATT (10/5): Lovely - Great hotel Shower controls difficult
- Jennie (10/5): My stay was perfection in every way. - The decor is beautiful, my room was so chic and comfortable with a well stocked mini fridge and great selection of snacks.
- Dorothee (1/5): Terrible - Nothing I have worked with Booking.com for many years and booked many trips. It was always very reliable and positive! I was your fan. However the Franklin cancelled our booking on arrival without notification! Even worse: they asked for our 3 passports, let us wait very long before coming with a terrible excuse they had problems with flooding and had no spare room. They had, so was said, arranged a similar room in a similar hotel with 5 stars from their sister organisation. Close to them. I could not believe this; they could have notified me immediately, but they said they were hoping for a cancellation! It’s unfair: we came for one night to London and lost expensive time. The other hotel, the Pelham, was completely different and we were really unhappy. I tried to call you several times but ‘due to technical problems’ the tape said I could not. You lost my trust in you.
- Zahra (9/5): -
- Maria (9/5): - I loved the style of the interior and the very comfortable bed It was a little bit noisy at night because of the traffic outside. I think the windows could be more soundproof
- Ulisse (9/5): -
- gioia (9/5): Impeccabile - Ogni aspetto
- Barbara (10/5): Best hotel experience ever! - I stayed at the Franklin for six nights and it was definitely the high point of my trip as well as one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Hotel staff were exceptional, especially the concierge/restaurant/bar staff. I ate breakfast and dinner there almost every day and those facilities were intimate, with highly responsive and welcoming staff. As a gin martini drinker, I reveled in the long list of gins available and the expertise of the staff. I upgraded to a junior suite on the third floor a week before my arrival for a modest fee. The room was large with a great bathroom that included a shower room and heated floor. My room and the restaurant /bar look out onto a large private garden, which had the feel of a mini estate. Because the hotel is nestled into an old, affluent residential neighborhood, it was quiet, and I felt like I had my own little apartment with my own staff. Brompton Road (V & A, Harrods, and multiple small boutique stores) is 1/2 block away.

- mark (10/5): Stayed because we were getting married at Chelsea Townhall - Location
- Margit (9/5): Stilvolles Boutique Hotel mit besonderem Flair -in kleinen Details noch Optimierungspotential - Sehr schönes, stilvolles Ambiente, sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, ruhige Gegend. Modernisiertes Zimmer in sehr gutem Zustand. Großzügiges Bad. Sehr sauber. Gutes Frühstücksangebot. Sehr freundliches, zugewandtes Personal.

- Erika (10/5): -
- Shamsa (10/5): - The vibes and rooms so comfy and location
- Peter (10/5): Excellent Hotel, our fourth stay says everything - The location is ideal for tube and museums.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafe's locally Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Laurence (9/5): Worth à stay in good location if price is not too high - Room design, quiet, clean, location staff Does add a service charge
- Ghada (10/5): Enjoy - Very nice Nothing
- martin (10/5): Great trip and the location worked for all the places we wanted to visit. - Room was very comfortable and well presented.
Coffee machine was a bit tricky.
We had breakfast on one morning, coffee and pastries and it was excellent.
The people who work at the hotel are a credit to the company. No complaints at all and will stay more often.
- Gonzalo (9/5): -
- Rodrigo (10/5): -
- Marjorie (10/5): - Our original room had inadequate closet space. The next day we moved to a room we had liked on a prior visit. We have stayed at the Franklin numerous times. They continually earn our loyalty. Common areas could stand some refreshing. Rooms are dark. Lighting should be improved.

- Paulo (9/5): -
- Diane (9/5): Highly recommend to others. - A Lovely Hotel. Staff from arrival to leaving were 1st class and very polite and helpful. The only downside for me was the subdued lighing in the room. Not too easy to do your make-up in, but the bathroom did have brighter lighting. The bed & bedding were the best I have ever slept in away from my own home. Cleran crisp white bedding with feather & down pillows which you just fell into and had a perfect nights sleep.

- Kacper (10/5): -
- mehmet (9/5): -
- Victor (6/5): -
- Colin (9/5): Nice but could be improved - Reminisce the luminous surroundings were very nice. The hotel layout was okay. Unfortunately, without sounding rude, some of the staff seemed unsure about a lot of things and made quite a few mistakes
- selda (10/5): -
- Paul (5/5): -
- Alina (7/5): Agreeable. - Location, staff, efficiency, pleasant. Size of the bathroom, bath shower very cramped, shower not working well.
- Ivette (10/5): Charming hotel with an excellent staff, centrally located a few blocks from V&A Museum and Harrods as well as extens - Beautiful hotel, well equipped and very friendly and helpful staff Room was a bit dark
- Hana (10/5): Best hotel ever - Best best BEST bed ever.
The sheets the duvets the linen pillows it was like sleeping on cloud.
The smell as well and the staff it was by far the best ever hotel and I travel 8-10 times a year .
Hope to come again and spend longer time just enjoying my room All was good but maybe more lights
- Ibrahim (9/5): Perfect location and very kind staff - The Location is perfect, the room is comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, Everything is fine, wish them all the best

- Andreas (8/5): -
- deborah (10/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and treated us like a royalty.
- kristine (10/5): Our stay at The Franklin was the perfect ending to our Europe trip! - From the minute we walked in to this hotel we were treated royally! It was a beautiful hotel and all of the staff was helpful, attentive, and pleasant. We loved the location...could walk to so many of the areas we wanted to visit. N/A
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Deborah Ruth (8/5): - The room itself was excellent, quiet, clean and well cared for. The main restaurant lacked energy or music to entice us to have a meal or even a beverage.
We did not appreciate on check out this morning the suggestion of a discretionary gratuity for the staff which equated to $250 CDN for our 7 night stay. The invoice was presented and we declined. No final checkout receipt was received.
As well the cc deposit taken on arrival Sept 24 for our 7 night stay of $934,CDN is yet to be returned/ credited to our visa. Disappointing!
- Debra (10/5): Fabulous hotel - Beautiful boutique hotel on a quiet street just steps from the V&A and natural history museums.
Very close to the S. Kensington tube station. High end shopping abounds. Very comfortable rooms and excellent customer service. Would definitely stay again.
- Laura (10/5): - The staff was wonderful! Everything was top notch. I would highly recommend this place!
- Andrew (4/5): - Over priced and photos on the site did not give a true impression of what we booked.
Bar and mini bar in room extortionate. Restaurant over priced and £30 for breakfast which thought would have been included seeing as I paid nearly £900 for 2 nights this was not included. Additional service charges added for drinking in the in house bar and normal maid service was also an additional service charge was added without asking, which we questioned so these charges were removed. Bedroom was sooo small not even room to put away 2 pieces of luggage. Couldn’t get changed without knocking into something.
- Kristen (8/5): -
- Sonja (10/5): - Lovely and welcoming staff, beautiful property
- rmspares (4/5): Hotel stay let down by restaurant experience - Booked to stay at the Hotel and wanted to check reviews on the Hotel Restaurant- came across the restaurant on the Fork and they were offering a 50% discount on reservations made through them off the A la Carte Menu.
However when we got to the restaurant we were only offered a set menu which was very limited - asked for A la Carte Menu which we ordered meal from only to be then told that discount would not apply the waiter was very rude and just said they had altered the offer despite what our booking said.
The other really bad point was the same items could be ordered for less from the A La Carte - Therefore on principal we did not dine but this left a very bad impression.
When i questioned the hotel they just said it was out of their control as a 3rd party.
This alone is the reason for the poor review the hotel stay itself was good and only let down by the restaurant experience.
- Carme (9/5): -
- Janice Lorraine (10/5): - A fantastic boutique hotel. Kind and attentive staff. Comfortable room and bed. Randomly chosen from Expedia. Lucky for us!
One morning there was no hot water. Likely happens as this is a small hotel.
This did not affect our very positive experience. Breakfast was just excellent. Not cheap. But worth it.
- George Dandov (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location, very close to museums and Harrods. Stylish rooms, attention to details. Very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast.
Enjoyed our stay, rooms are nice, hotel facilities are great. Really loved small bottles of water they put near the exit, so you can take a bottle with you. 1. A bit confusing breakfast menu. Mix with set breakfast and extras you can order is not too clear. From the first glance it seems that set breakfast is mandatory to order, which is not the case.
2. Discretionary service charge at the check out. It is automatically added to the bill and with the price of the hotel it just does not make sense and feels wrong. Just add it to the price of the stay as extra 20£ out of the 500£ night price is not making a difference. I do tip (and I really do it for the luggage help and room cleaning and etc), but getting £120 tip added in the final bill is not the right approach.
- Ogden (10/5): Excellent staff - lovely hotel - Excellent staff. Lovely quirky hotel I booked on the last minute. Can't fault it.
I have seen reviews about having to climb to get to the bathrooms; it's an old town house where the 'room' can be over two floors - what do you expect?
Would book again.
- Jan (10/5): 👍 - Very nice hotel on top location Ambiance
- Georgina (10/5): - Wonderful luxury hotel
Gorgeous private garden
Moody interiors
Super quiet
- Elena (10/5): - Amazing place
- Kerry (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay!
- Julian (8/5): great location, stylish hotel - Furnishing and style, upkeep, extras in the room sink tiny, paying extra for eggs at breakfast
- SYLVIA (8/5): Lovely stay - It was fabulous as celebrating my birthday and staff were great and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend it but be aware there is service on absolutely everything even your stay which is optional but put on your bill. I am very disappointed on being charged for an extra coffee at breakfast when we took the package. We have travelled the world and stayed in many London Hotels and coffee at breakfast is always unlimited. A little petty and unnecessary in my opinion. I would like to say Justina was exceptional.
- Vincent (10/5): - Classic Hotel in ideal Location. Rear garden are is an absolute delight.

- 769KateS769 (10/5): Outstanding experience at the Wizard of Oz Tea! - Stefania, the restaurant manager, gave us extraordinary service. We had forgotten to mention that one of our party is gluten intolerant, and she graciously convinced the chef to go to a great deal of trouble to accommodate us. He worked a last-minute miracle and made the experience a delight!
- Steverun6 (10/5): What a hidden gem - The staff at the Franklin went out of their way to accommodate my husband who has difficulty walking due to pain issues with his back. The dining staff took extra care of us. The concierge took excellent care of booking restaurants and cabs and the front desk was right on. We felt like welcomed guests.
Our room had a king size bed and walk in shower and the room was very spacious
