• Irene (1/5): Never again! - Slackwater Inn I waited 4 hours to check in! We communicated via bookings site all along then unbeknownst to me they decided to send check in details via text. Traveling internationally I was unable to receive text. I had to find another place to stay as it was getting very late. I have requested the charge to be refunded but I am still waiting! No customer service. No live person.

• Stephanie (8/5): A clean, comfortable, and cute place to stay while enjoying the wonderful town, and incredible natural beauty of Buena V - This is a roadside inn that’s been renovated and is everything you need for a nice stay in Buena Vista. It’s remarkably clean. The decor is mountain-whimsical, the beds are comfy, the bathroom has all the essentials, and there’s a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It’s right off the highway but amazingly , it was quiet at night. The owners have done a great job making this Inn a quality place to stay. Each bed had two super firm pillows. It needs one soft pillow option. You need to drive into town; it’s not walkable as far as I could tell.

• Jason (8/5): Outstanding stay in Buena Vista!!! - The room and the overall property is very clean, proper and well maintained. Excellent site for viewing the Collegiate Peaks and very close to the Arkansas River. Close to BV and its amenities. The median home price in BV is way above its actual intrinsic value. Too many douchebag Dems ruining Chaffee County!!! While I was winding down and getting ready for bed a trashy neighbor checked in next door and they were loud into the wee hours of the morning. The walls are thin. They calmed down though. If you stay here during the rowdy upcoming summer be prepared for noise. I think that manager needs to be onsite 24/7 during the summer.
• Max (7/5): Good value for one night - Clean room. Convenient location to drive to BV and activities in the area. Easy check in Construction quality was low in the room. It looks good from a distance but you can tell that everything was done cheaply up close. Curtains didn’t black out enough light. Room smelt a bit musty and of cleaner.

• Adreanna (10/5): Welcoming Atmosphere with Attention To Detail - I could really tell that everything in the room was set up very meticulously with a lot of effort and thought. Everything felt so homey and clean and it was the best room my husband and I had stayed in our whole trip. It was nice to finally get somewhere where we felt welcomed and able to really settle in and relax for the night. I appreciated all the little details that were included such as the makeup towel, the dog blanket for pets, the binder with information about the area, the microwave/fridge, and the makeup mirror. Everything was perfect and outlined in great detail with clarity. Would always recommend this place! No complaints! Seriously it was perfect:)

• Leo (8/5): Very convenient for the right price. - It is a great place to come in sleep and move further. It is of the main highway but we did not hear traffic at all. You park right in front of your room and get a code to get into the room. No check in required. It is nicely remodeled and has all the typical motel things in it. Could be a little cleaner, one bed side lamp didn't work and the makeup mirror light in the main room was also not working. So it was nicely remodeled but missing some TLC.

• Nick (9/5): Clean, quality pet accommodations, high pet fees - The pet accommodations were high quality: private fenced back yard, larger fenced gravel walk/play area, plenty of poop bags and trash cans around the property, a dog blanket for allowing your dog on the bed or to make a soft spot in the floor for them, and a specific towel for cleaning up water bowl drips or accidents. The Booking.com listing did not mention any pet fees. Upon arrival we discovered the fee was $32 per dog, per night. That seems really high and we were frustrated about not having been given advance notice about it.

• Christy (9/5): Updated and Comfy Motel just outside of Buena Vista - This was a great little motel that was affordable and comfortable. Self check-in was nice. Early checkout at 10am. Probably pretty old but was very updated recently with new everything. Comfy beds. Close to Buena Vista and food and stores. Quiet. Small. Good spot. I liked everything about this spot really - will stay again.

Mountain views, tiny town vibe. I think i want to move here tbh. The room is great, nice decorations, good heat and air. The back patio and dog area are what sells this place. Very well kept up with, private. Feels like it's your spot. 10/10 I like checking in at the desk better than the no contact thing. It was nice pulling right up to the room and not having to check in since they text the door code. I just like asking the desk ppl where they like to hang out is all.

• Kristine (10/5): - Just outside of BV, this was a perfect spot for us. Our room had a little outdoor area attached and that was great for the dogs and letting our hiking gear dry out. This place looks like it was recently renovated and they did a great job. It was very nicely decorated, not cluttered, and very clean. Excellent proximity to all things hiking, hot springs and yummy restaurants. It was also very easy to communicate with the manager when we had questions.

Convenient location. The door code I was emailed didn't work. I couldn't get the coffee maker to work. Thin walls, it might be noisy with guests on both sides.

The place was very clean and well-maintained, and the amenities were just right, everything I needed without feeling overwhelmed. One of the best parts was how dog-friendly it was; it made traveling with my pet stress-free and enjoyable. The location was excellent, with Buena Vista close by and easy to access, which added to the convenience. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant experience. I’d definitely recommend it!

We could hear conversations in the room next door. There were only a couple rooms occupied so it would be nice for you to start with booking rooms that have a room in between. Responsive host. Great coffee shop next door!

• Dante (10/5): Dog friendly stay in Buena Vista - SUPER DOG FRIENDLY! We love heading to the mountains with our dog and often our biggest worry is where he can stay with us, Slackwater was perfect from their “dog blanket” for hair to the poo bags provided they made it feel catered to our pup. The hotel was also a great price for the area and the room was updated and clean!

• Abby (6/5): Good price and decent for one night but overall didn't have a great experience. - The price was good. I appreciate people reviving these older hotels and from the photos it looked great but it was somewhat of a 'landlord special' on arrival. Pet friendly with $32 fee. Had a nice fenced in space for dogs. LOTS of signs and information (some contradicted each other) with warnings of extra fees to be charged if you didn't follow the rules and keep the place clean with a dog. A bit off putting when upon arrival the room, particularly the bathroom, was not clean. Large ball of hair in the shower drain, hairs in the sink, built up dust and grim on the windowsill and the fan. Floors looked swept but not mopped. There was an overpowering smell of cleaning chemicals that never really dissipated and the bed was made so it seemed someone attempted to clean before arrival. When I text the manager about the cleanliness I received no response - they were previously communicating with me to get the pet fee paid. Just wasn't impressed.

A rustic, pleasing decor and comfortable bed. The views all around were spectacular. Easy non-contact check in and clean. A highway made it convenient, but it’s also a highway.
