Guest Reviews
- Montano (10/5): -
- Browder (1/5): Manager is worthless and a liar. - Price Lied to by manager about availability. I had to buy an extension cord to get power close to the desk for my laptop…blank covers over plugs near desk.
- Worthey (1/5): - We we left Urine and hair all over the toilet and bathroom floor, microwave turner didnt turn, TV didnt work. The lamp didnt work and while trying to figure out why whe saw that the cord looked as if it had been chewed and and was still plugged in
- Kaleb (1/5): - They said they didn’t accept the booking from booking.com because they are not associated with them. So I had no room to stay at after I was charged
- Richardson (1/5): -
- Jose (10/5): -
- Brenda (5/5): Staff were really friendly and location was perfect - I liked that it was close to my business there in McCamey, tx. The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were not very clean. The pull out bed was very dirty and had crayons and maybe old food in the bed. Dead roach stuck to the toothbrush holder. Pillows were not very comfortable, like there was no stuffing in them.
- Jesse (1/5): Everything we t wrong was double booked and didn’t have a room - Not a thing because we where double booked and didn’t have a room
- Monica (4/5): - Dirty, non working iorning board Wasn't offered any help with broken things in the hotel. Bed was very comfortable,
- Mary Jo (5/5): -
- Nathan (1/5): -
- David (2/5): It was OK not the greatest - The location was convenient That they came in my room and left their trash behind after fixing the toilet
- Lisa (3/5): Won’t be staying again - Location was good. First I travelled 7 hours for this stay. Never did anyone say the office closed at 9pm and no late check ins. Had to call the number on the door four times before someone answered and was clearly not happy about my late arrival (1030pm). For the price would expect upgrades and to be cleaner… shower had stuck on something still 😮💨 holes in walls, bathroom not clean, toilet paper was half a roll and no holder. Plug in Sockets were loose. Just not what I expected for $200+ per night.
- Juan (1/5): CALL BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR STAY - It was close to my job site Lack of communication with online booking. Online booking showed 3 rooms available and the hotel was booked out for the past 2 months. I had to stay my truck for an early job because the closest hotel available was 1.5 hours away
- Anjelika (10/5): - Very clean rooms and very spacious.
- H (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (1/5): Didn't stay there cause they didn't give me a room - Nothing Booked a room at least a month in Advance, when I arrived after driving 5 hours, they did not have a reservation for me, I showed them my confirmation from Booking.com. They said they didn't even have Queen size rooms with 2 Queen beds which is what I reserved online. they told me if I came back in 2 hrs. they might have me a room. I had another couple "Family" that reserved the same thing and that's what they got. So I will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone. Had to drive 20 more miles to find another motel to stay at. I guess since I didn't pay in advance I wasn't important. I wasn't the only one this happened to the same day. This was a trip for a Granddaughter's Graduation. Another guest of the Granddaughter paid in Advance and she didn't get her room Either.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Bybike (5/5): Passable - The location was perfect. The room was large. Lots of hot water Not super clean. Stained sheets. Trash not emptied from last guest.
- Jose (10/5): - Good
- Jodi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t stay here - Desk guy was rude both in person and on the phone (when he answered it). King room had 2 flat old pillows and a/c was not working well.
- Casey (10/5): After a crazy high school football game it was a great place to relax after. - I like that it was easy to find. The lady at the front desk was so sweet!!
- Brandon (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (6/5): - We arrived in town about an hour before check-in and stopped by to see if we could check in didn't want to get in room yet but it would be late when we would return to the room, but clerk said it wasn't possible because it hadn't been cleaned yet. Then the next morning I went for the breakfast (as advertised) the waffle iron wasn't on there was no muffins or cereal out, no coffee made or juice, the only thing they had was water and a canister marked milk in the fridge fridge nothing else. So we had to settle for a nasty stripes burrito for breakfast. Beds were hard, nightstand had dried coffee or something on it.bedding and bathroom were clean tho. You would think for $106 a night they could at least spring for some breakfast options. I know it's a small town but some options in hotel choices would be nice.
- Enrique (1/5): Bad -
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): An Oasis in the west Texas desert. - The property is nice, rooms excellent and staff are just wonderfully friendly. I had the very best hotel stay of my life. When in the area of the little desert town in west Texas, great place to visit on a Friday night.
- Ingeborg (1/5): No bed bugs, so it started okay. But a Large Bed Bug of a Manager, who sucked the life out my stay. - There were no indication of bed bugs in my suite/room. (Look at the 1-star ratings on Yelp! and you'll understand.) I was happy about that. (This was the only hotel available on the way to the Eclipse in TX. So I was willing to deal with bed bugs for two nights.) I brought trash bags to put my suitcases in, a large plastic sheet to sleep on, and bug spray and traps. (Really, booking.com shouldn't be handling this property.)
The mattresses seemed new-ish and clean. So I didn't use my plastic sheet. From a physical perspective, they keep the milk open in a nice, warm, 45 degree fridge. (See photo.) No thanks. (Punted on their breakfast entirely.)
From a personnel perspective, the Manager is horrible. One could have the best property in the world. But a lousy manager will make it lousy. In my case, due to their mistake, the staff took my property during my 2-night stay.
I had made two, separate reservations back to back. After checking in and seeing the room, I paid to keep it for the next night, and they rekeyed my key for two nights. But they made a mistake and forgot that I had the room for two nights. So they took some things that I had left in the room between my return.
At first the Manager said, "Read the Contract. Not responsible items left in room."
Wait. What? I hadn't left the room.
Even if it had been my fault, wouldn't the courteous thing to do be to contact the Guest (voice, email, text) to say "Hey, you left some things in your room. Do you want to make arrangements for us to mail them to you?" But not this man.
(I'm guessing that he sells your stuff to border crossers as a side hustle.)
- David (8/5): Decent stay. Older, well-maintained property - Comfortable 60's era roadside motel. In good repair and everything worked.
- Yong (10/5): - ok
- Terri (1/5): Worst place I have ever stayed un - What breakfast Everything
- Ryker (6/5): - Great parking and easy access. Only fuss i have is appliances in my hotel were not good tv remote was completely broken and bathroom could use a touch up
- Salvador (4/5): Disappointing - the place is unkept, the bathrooms are dirty. Customer service: The person in charge was rude, and the juice machine was horrible. It did, however, have other breakfast snacks.
- Ryden (1/5): Exhausting to say the least would love a refund will never stay there again. - To be honest nothing, had. A horrible experience all the way around would love a refund Need to train staff better
- Larry (1/5): We had two team members check out after first night due to dirty sheets - That it was 10 minutes from job Place is a dump. Management lazy as hell. Rooms were filthy
- Justin (7/5): Good - Location Remote for tv didnt work and other room had water leak.
- Willard (8/5): It's okay - The TV didn't work. The a/c controls didn't work.
- Viola (7/5): Good - Its clealiness Bed, it wasnt too comfortable.
- Marisa (8/5): Good - It was a good location and clean. The cleaning lady's talking loud outside the rooms very early in the morning.
- Monique (6/5): It was could have been more accommodating. - It was clean and close to the party venue. There was no coffee pot or an iron in my room.
- David (2/5): - Expedia should stop listing this property.
#1: it’s a 50 mile detour off Interstate 10, and the town of Ft Stockton is MUCH more convenient. The town of McCamey is a near-ghost town.
The first room I was shown had sand in the bed, and it became OBVIOUS that the sheets had not been changed from the prior guest. There was no breakfast as advertised, the room had only decaf coffee and I was told without apologies that none was available.
Do the public a favor, tell the public to drive on to Ft Stockton and warn them against this place.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (9/5): Pleasant - Roomie, clean That they didn’t have bigger breakfast
- Matt (1/5): Bad -
- Leroy (4/5): $30/night property -
- Michael (1/5): Bad - The management was unorganized and rude. The keys to rooms did not work.
- Robert (10/5): Clean and pleasent -
- John (6/5): After we cleaned up the room and purchased a fan, we slept fairly comfortable. - The room was a good size and newly remodeled. There was a nice area for BBQing, etc. We had to clean our room and the air did not work well. Also, the refrigerator, although super cool…leaked and we had to mop up the water twice.
- Brittney (1/5): Bad - Nothing Stains all over sofa, bed, walls and lamps. There was a dirty glove in the night stand. The shower was dirty, Manager was very friendly either.
- Karen (5/5): Passable - The beds were clean and comfortable The floors were dirty hadn't been swept and mopped, there was old food from last guest left in the refrigerator, stove and counters were dirty
- Karen (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (1/5): Bad -
- Jessica (1/5): Bad -
- Carl (8/5): - The place is clean, rooms are nice with couch, big room and hotel grounds are well groomed. The person at the desk however did not live there so she could not suggest places to eat.
- Clever (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Servando (9/5): I enjoyed my stay. - it was very clean. it was easy to get to.
- Rosemary (4/5): He didn’t even mention breakfast so I wasn’t aware - Location good, I didn’t eat breakfast The guy at the front desk, josue should change his attitude. He needs to be a people person. And me AC/heater unit never shut off, even when I turned it off!
- Charline (5/5): Passable -
- Susan (1/5): Bad -
- Bill (10/5): - Had a great time.
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- G (4/5): Over priced, guy at the front desk hates his life - The only thing positive I can say is about the cleaning staff. Friendly
Plenty of channels on TV if your into that. The guy at front desk has a major attitude and was extremely rude.
No people skills.
The rooms are dingy.
Way over priced
- Jonathan (4/5): - Ac didn’t cool the room. WiFi didn’t work very well. Had to call to get checked in as no one was at the front desk.
- Pablo (2/5): Worst hotel ever - Horrible service. Would not Recommend anybody.
- Antonio (4/5): Don’t stay there. Pack a tent! - The person checking us in when we arrived was really rude. Not good. Bug bites galore!
- Carla (8/5): - Convenient location.
Thin walls, Customer next to us had TV blasting all through the night till early morning. Hot water in shower was more luke warm rather than hot.
Room stayed cool.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room next to me was broken into and not cleaned up. Windows broken out and glass on ground.
- Randy (4/5): Would not recommend this hotel! - The window was broken in the room next to me and glass was on the sidewalk, TV had parental control lock so no HBO and no one knew the code, coffee maker in room did not work, no blanket but comforter was old and stained. When the clerk was alerted to the issues he said that the owner knows about the issues but doesn’t want to do anything about it. I would not stay here again when I’m back for business or any time.
- Michael (8/5): - Just a basic room. Nothing fancy but was clean and functional.
I always check under the beds upon and after arrival. Laughed because one of the beds foot was leveled with eleven cents glued together to the floor!
Whatever works to get the job done.
No complaints! It was clean and staff was courteous and helpful. Would visit again.
- Tammy (8/5): Most Comfortable! - Hotel was very comfortable and the mini kitchen was great! Bed was wonderful as well. The service at checkin was speedy and staff was very friendly. This is my 4th year staying here and has been each time.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Becouse I payed by expedía already and I been charged again for the hotel itsnot fair!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not so clean room - The room appeared to have not been used in quite some time. It was dusty and not clean like you expect a room to be. I had to spray down the shower with some cleaner that I had with me and run the shower to clean it. I also had to wipe down the vanity area and throw away a used bar of soap that was left on the counter. There was also missing light bulbs from lamps so I could only use one bedside lamp. I didn’t complain because I didn’t feel like it would help and figured the other empty rooms might be the same way. I know that it’s a small town motel but I do hope that the room is a little cleaner the next time I have to stay there since it’s the only motel/hotel in town.
- Jolene (8/5): Small, quiet motel. - We had 4 people in our room. 2 towels were provided. We had to ask for more. Manager called us early to ask when we were arriving and no one was at the office when we arrived at 10:30pm. He came quickly and was accommodating.
- violet (6/5): - There was no in front for the so called continental breakfast no one ever came up there to get it ready for people to come in to eat went back a couple times no one came in there. To set up the waffles or the strip all empty
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent place to stay - Guy at the front desk was friendly.
The beds were comfortable, linens were clean. The room itself needs a better cleaning, you can tell they just do a quick wipe down of the common areas, but ignore others like the top of the headboard and some stains on the walls, etc. There was also some unfinished drywall work that was unpainted.
Our room had a little electric stove and a larger refrigerator.
Overall, it wasn't bad and I would stay there again.
- Tammy (10/5): My yearly stay for the Wind Festival! - Great hotel for 2 nights, very quite and beds were very comfy.
- Mary (2/5): - This motel was dirty, fallin apart and no one was at the front desk when I tried to check in. I had to call for someone to come to the front desk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room we were given was not cleaned from the previous occupant! Got a different room-no towels or toiletries. Went over and got those. Later when we unmade the bed-no top sheet! Got attitude about why we hadn’t requested that when we asked for towels...because we had not unmade the bed yet! Crazy place.
- Justin (8/5): Great place to sleep - Good just waht you need for work realated trips.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived a bit late, but not late enough for after hours service. The front desk clerk was not present and the bell to notify them for service was out. After calling out and stepping outside to find someone he quietly slipped into the seat behind the counter as if he had been sitting there the entire time; no acknowledgement nor apology.
As far as the room is concerned, the TV appeared to have one good channel, the rest were blocked or for PPV channels. The coffee maker was missing as was the smoke alarm from the ceiling. The bed was as hard as the floors; couldn’t sleep through the night.
They offer a “continental breakfast” which in reality is three containers of old cereal, and out of service waffle maker and no coffee.
The silver lining was a small kitten who stayed around the hotel who is super friendly but likely a stray.
Chose this hotel because every where else was sold out. Looked nice in the picture but not worth the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Couldn't find my expedia reservation, parking lot was a disaster, manager was less than enthusiastic about our needs, no toiletries in bathroom, bathtub was peeling and flaking from a poor resurfacing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Price was good at this moment during a major industry show in Odessa, why I stayed there. For $100 it was good for the time
- John (2/5): - 50 dollar rooms for 100 dollars don’t stay if you have another choice
- Tammy (8/5): Great little hotel - Stay was great, coffee pot in room was not working and they did not replace it during my stay!
- Tammy (8/5): OK Good - Coffee maker in my room didn’t work and when I advised them they didn’t offer to replace it
- Renee (4/5): Don’t look too close! - This hotel is dingy and dirty. The surface is fairly clean but I dropped something behind the nightstand. When I moved it slightly to get my earring it was disgusting. Their were flys in our room! We had been on a road trip for a week when we got to LaBonita. It was the worst accommodations we had and the most expensive!!
- Narda (2/5): - From the number of big pick-ups in the parking lot, probably many energy workers stay there so it has a different clientele than regular hotels. However, the room was very dirty: the sheets were threadbare; the towels were thin and stained; the floor had a thin layer of dust/sand/something gritty; the bathtub was stained, with paints drips and blotches; the hairdryer did not work; the pillows looked as if someone had just lifted their heads off them; the only cups were for coffee--none for water or an ice bucket. Extremely displeased with paying $109, plus tax, for a substandard room. I understand not having an available handicapped accessible room with only 1 day notice, but there are many accommodations that can made to any room to comply with federal law. I would recommend commuting from Odessa before staying at this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was helpful, friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
- Conner (8/5): Wish - I wish the room was as nice as the first night of stayed there because the second one that wasn't worth a s*** in the doubles
- Brad (2/5): I would not stay here again - No hot water walls were so thin I could hear the person in the next room snoring. When I asked about the hot water staff replied, yes we have a problem.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay away from La Bonita in McCamey, TX - This is the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed in. They do not clean the rooms worth anything. The guest laundry is so filthy the clothes would be dirtier coming out of the laundry than going in.
- Yvonne (10/5): Great!! - Staff was awesome
