• Samuel (10/5): - Maison Orsini is a beautiful selection of historic buildings that open onto a courtyard and garden. The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable and the views from the Maison over Avignon and beyond are spectacular. About 20 minutes will walk you over to Avignon or there is a bus at the bottom of the road. Villeneuve Les Avignon is a lovely town with great places to eat and a castle overlooking the countryside. Our host, Folco, could not have been more helpful and supplied a wonderful breakfast every morning which was composed of local produce including cheeses, ham, bread, fruit and other food. Folco is also a great help in recommending restaurants and activities. He was a superb host. I could go on, but it would be fair to say that Maison Orsini was one of the best places we have ever stayed, we were looked after so well and we absolutely would go back again. The views alone from the terrace as you eat your breakfast are justification enough to book.

• Hagit (10/5): - If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this isn't the place. If you want to experience French hospitality in an authentic setting, i recommend WITHOUT RESERVATION. The owner was so nice snd accommodating and made great recommendations for restaurants that served only what was in season. In addition, they had their own "pop up" restaurant onsite. We had one of the best meals imaginable with a 4 course pre-fixed menu. Also central for visits to Nimes, Arles, Pont du Garde and other locals.

• Korlyn (10/5): - We found a gem!! Folco is the perfect host. Breakfast was wonderful, our room was amazing. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It is like staying in a castle with the vaulted ceilings and ornate antique furniture but with all the modern amenities, including a pool. The view from the patio is breathtaking. Make sure you explore Villeneuve. The castle and Abbey are better than anything we saw in Avignon! Easy access to Avignon by bus. Amazing restaurants in Villeneuve but seasonal dining will be available on-site as of June 21st. If I could give Folco's beautiful home a 10 I would. Your search is done! Book it, you won't be disappointed.

The ambiance of the house was wonderful! Folco was an exceptional host. I would highly recommend staying here if you are anywhere close by. We wish we could have stayed longer!

The view from our room was spectacular and the room was nice and very spacious. It was well-equipped with a small refrigerator, tea and coffee, and very nice bathroom (ours had a huge bathtub). There is a lovely swimming pool across the lane. Folco was a very considerate and helpful host, and the breakfast was excellent. Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is a charming little village and we enjoyed walking down to the square for dinner. Don’t miss the fort and Abbey Gardens in town.

Want to stare and the view and sip your wine from a nearby store? This place is for you. One note. If you drive your own car. Make sure it’s a small one 😊
• Tim (10/5): - A perfect host to a very unusual property. Our apartment was clean with modern fixtures in a very old building. Breakfast was good and setting amazing in 14th century house. Villeneuve les Avignon a lovely small town with plenty of restaurants. Much calmer than main town over the river.
• KAREN (10/5): The Best! - Maison Orsini is located in a smaller village just across the river from Avignon. The property is lovely with gardens, stone walls, and rooms that are exactly what you would expect in an accommodation in Provence. It is located on a hill with beautiful views and is walking distance to a few restaurants, however we did choose to use an Uber when we visited Avignon, rather than fighting to find parking. The accommodation itself does have parking, which is reserved in advance. Our room was very large with a fireplace, a large tiled bathroom and french provincial furnishings. It was quite charming. The biggest asset at Maison Orsini is the Manager/Owner, who was friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. This was by far our favorite stay during the two weeks we spent in Provence.

• Mark (8/5): - My wife and I (along with our dog) had a fabulous 10-night stay in a suite with a private terrace in April. The hotel benefits from being situated in the quieter location of Villeneuve, but still has plentiful restaurants, boulangeries and small shops that are only a short walk away. The hotel has the most tremendous views across to Avignon and the Popes’ Palace (along with distant views of Mont Ventoux) and sunsets across the historic city could be enjoyed from our private terrace or from the garden’s decked area. Breakfasts were fabulous with an extensive range of produce and the delicious breads and pastries were freshly sourced from the boulangerie in town. The hotel served as an ideal base for exploring Provence and Folco (the host) was super helpful with suggestions and advice about places to visit. If you like walking, we would recommend a visit to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. A small town built around the spring in a valley at the foot of the Vaucluse Mountains, it has numerous canal and ridge walks with stunning scenery. We really loved our stay at Maison Orsini and would recommend it as an ideal location for exploring this region. We would agree with some reviews that the hotel would benefit from a little sprucing up; however, please do not let this put you off staying at this charming hotel. Everything you need works really well and most of all, Folco is a super host who makes every effort to make your stay an enjoyable one.

The innkeeper, Folco, was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. He knows the area well! The beds were comfy, shower was great, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious and much-appreciated! (Folco makes great coffee and fresh-pressed orange juice every morning!) The views from our room of the river and the palace of the popes was unparalleled. Highly recommend!

The gardens are delightful and the breakfast that was provided was wonderful. The host was very kind and gracious and parking in their fenced in lot across from the house was a tight fit but available. The house is easily walkable to the center of town, were there are lots of dinning opportunities. I highly recomend this location if you like beautiful historic properties.

• Dyron (10/5): Best place to stay for Avignon, hands down - This medieval mansion is wonderfully located. You get personal service from the property, unlike most hotels. It is a family run business. Rooms are in excellent condition. Had the best breakfast! It is located across the river from Avignon. You get great, unobstructed views of the Papal Palace. I wouldn't stay anywhere else for visiting Avignon. This place was perfect!

The views from the property over the Rhone towards the Palace des Papes are world class. Our room was spacious and our bed was very comfortable. Our host, Folco, was fantastic - extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, he really helped to make our stay all the better. This location also cant be beat if you're wanting to see the major historical sites, being only a 15 minute walk to Fort Saint Andre, or a brief 5 minute drive to the free park and ride lot that is then a 15 minute walk to the Palace des Papes (or you could take the shuttle, which will save you a walk across the bridge). You're also only a ~5 minute walk to some fantastic restaurants in the Villeneuve area.n
• Evelyn (10/5): - This property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, historic. It far exceeded our expectations. Folco , the manager, was wonderful and very kind. The breakfast was delicious. We spent 2 weeks in France and this is the stay that we will remember. This was the very best experience we have ever had with lodging in and out of the US. The location is great . It is a 15 minute walk to town and great restaurants. Walking along the river and the canal was so good for the soul. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thank you Folco

The location of this property was excellent , we stayed 3 nights and it was a short safe walk to the village center and there were tons of nice restaurants . If we walked the opposite way , again short and safe walk , there was a bus to Antibes (1.4 euro and 12 minutes ) The included breakfast was continental but big selection , great coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice . My only suggestion for property owner ( great guy ) is to get some better pillows . I would stay again here .

• Marla (10/5): - Our stay in Maison Orsini was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. If you want to experience the quintessential European country home with a courtyard and beautiful gardens, this will fit the bill. The view of Avignon over the Rhone is spectacular, especially at night. The private pool was fun for a dip, although we did get eaten by mosquitos as soon as we came out. It's about a 30 minute walk to Avignon, but there are several restaurants that are just a 10 minute walk away in the town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon itself, which is an adorable town. The owner was friendly and accommodating and has some yard games set up in the courtyard for guests to play which is a fun option. Breakfast is included and it was wonderful. I'd recommend staying here for a peaceful and quiet stay. I will say that we were the only guests at the time (July) so if I were a solo traveler, I would be more comfortable in a less isolated location.
• Andrew (10/5): Historic and charming place to stay in Avignon - This historic property with a view cannot be beat. Folco was a gracious host, helping to arrange travel to and from the property, getting us checked in, providing recommendations on places to eat and visit. In addition he provided us with a little bit of a history lesson on the property and town. On the last morning we had an early train to Marseille and he made sure we had breakfast, arranged a taxi, and helped us with our luggage. We enjoyed this property very much to the point we keep talking about it and looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

• Sheldon (10/5): - Maison Orsini is a cottage on a property with a total of 7 units. The owner's name is Folco, and he was very nice. The cottage is lovely, with a nice kitchen/dining room and living room downstairs and two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Cozy, and fits in with the surrounding village. A truly relaxing place. The included breakfast was also nice, quite simply French breakfast of bread, yogurt, and fruit, but all of it outstanding. We enjoyed our stay here. We also ate dinner at the attached restaurant, and it was good.

• Maria (10/5): - We spent an amazing 3 days at Maison Orsini. This centuries old property is very well maintained. It offers all the conveniences you would expect from a great hotel combined with historic charm. The rooms are rustic and full of French Provencal character. The hotel is located in a very quiet hilltop neighborhood, five minutes walk from the town center. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Rhone with spectacular views of the Pope's Palace and Avignon is unforgettable. The restaurant Orsini deserves a separate review. It is the best in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, serving French food with a modern twist.

The property location is great, away from the most touristy area but within walking distance to the old town and surrounding historical sights. The view from the patio is unbelievable. We had picnics in the yard and made wonderful friends with other guests as well.

Many great restaurants within an easy walking distance. Delicious breakfast in the morning with many home made and local food options..very healthy.

It was lovely being so close to Avignon (accessible by bus or foot) but you felt out of the city. The owner even parked the car in the private spot for us.Breakfast on the terrace was adorable. • Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is quite unique. It’s in a 14th century building that was once the home of Cardinal Orsini, hence its name. Our beautiful suite has a living room and small kitchen. But best of all is the killer view of Avignon and the Rhône River from the private terrace. Folco, our host, couldn’t be more helpful or thoughtful. He provides a marvelous breakfast including a fine assortment of cheese, which he chooses, and fresh-squeezed fruit juice. The dinners there are excellent. We stayed in several lovely places in France, but Maison Orsini is my favorite

The owner/host is very warm, helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. It's an easy walk into the little town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon for cafes, and a quick bus ride into the larger city of Avignon for the Pope's Palace, more restaurants, etc.

The breakfast was delicious and the best yoghurt we have tasted. The restaurant was fully booked during our stay as very popular. Cafes snd shops are in walking distance from the property. We would highly recommend this property.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - It was fantastic experience! We'd go back and stay there for a number of days again! This place is a true gem! Our host Folco was beyond welcoming and accommodating. We stayed at Superior Suite, 2 Bedrooms, Terrace, City View and it was incredible! It's a medieval cottage on the cliff with a breathtaking view of the river and Palais des Papes. Although the whole place looked very authentic, the amenities completely modern and up to date, and makes you feel very comfortable - AC, great bathroom and shower. This specific suite was very spacious, sparkling clean and with everything you may need during your stay. There is also a very nice pool in a "secret garden". Awesome french breakfast (croissants, different kind of cheese and meat, yogurt with variety of jams, fruit... Folco personally makes fresh-squeezed orange juice for you if you like 😉). We walked down to the village and we could not get enough of that "going back in time" atmosphere. There are plenty of little shops and high-quality French restaurants.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming and quiet property overlooking a beautiful view of Avignon! Folco is very helpful with directions and suggestions. Many restaurants are down the hill and a 10 minute walk away. The bus stops on the other side of the hill and takes you to Avignon. Parking near there is a nightmare so take the bus or walk. It's only a 30 min walk. Breakfast is simple but perfect. Our quadruple room had 3 double beds! Plenty of room for our family. My only complaint is that we only stayed one night! We loved Maison Orsini and highly recommend it!

• David (8/5): Beautiful house in lovely village - I think we ended up with a room that was not on the website photos! It was fine for our 2 night stay but lacked the comfort that I was expecting. Air conditioning was poor and a few running repairs were needed. However, it a 13th century building! The village is lovely with many restaurants and there is a bus to take you to Avignon if too hot to walk, which it was when we visited. There is a small secluded pool across the road which was very pleasant. We didn’t eat at the hotel as they were fully booked ( a good sign) but breakfast was fine. There was a lovely courtyard to sit in and enjoy a glass of wine and views at the end of a very hot and busy day in Avignon.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Word: paradise! It’s great because it’s not in the center of Avignon, but it’s a five minute bus ride away, and a two minute walk to the bus stop. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at, the pool is absolutely amazing, it is all full of gardens and the view of the Rhône River is just spectacular. I could honestly say I have stayed a month and ever left the premises.

Bus transportation to Avignon but not late at night, however was easy to drive to Ile de Plôt and park for free. Walking 10 minutes to Avignon. The dinner at their restaurant was the best on our trip! Room is spacious and evocative and the grounds are gorgeous. The view includes the Rhone River, the Popes Palace across in Avignon, and Saint Andre castle fortress to the other side. Only 30 min walk to everything busy in Avignon, and a stunning and peaceful venue of ivy covered stones, terraces, balcony, steep stairs and towers. Parking and terrific breakfast included. This is definitely one of the best experiences on the south of France trip. The B&B provides dinner right on the Terrance with most wonderful views of the river and old town. There is a also a clean and beautiful swimming pool in the hidden garden across the street. whilest the bed rooms are clean, the rest of the hotel facilities (restaurant, reception) are a bit dusty and messy.
• Mustafa (10/5): Lovely, authentic farmhouse with amazing service - Spectacular service in a lovely area. This is a little gem - a lovely 14th century farmhouse where the attention is second to none. My one concern is that the owner does so much for everyone! Walking distance to both the local village (5-10 mins away) or the main town of Avignon (20+ min walk). Don't underestimate how great it is this place has parking too! The farmhouse and cottages have lovely views and are also equipped with nice mod cons of air conditioning and wifi without taking away from their authentic charm. The owner is great and is full of advice for where to go and is happy to book vineyard tours and restaurants for you. It was a wonderful experience in an amazing setting that you won't get in any hotel.
