Guest Reviews
- Cherie (10/5): - We have had an amazing stay! The Lodge is so warm
- Denny (10/5): - Lovely property. Small but well appointed rooms. Delightful, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful cozy country lodge - Friendly, excellent service at a cozy, old-time country lodge.
- Jay (10/5): - The staff was extremely kind to my wife and I during a difficult time.
- Sherry (10/5): Bill’s birthday party. - We joined family members there for an 80th birthday celebration.
- Merry (10/5): - I especially liked having the cozy robe in the room!
- Richard (10/5): Perfect in every way! - Absolutely amazing property! I loved it and can’t wait to come back and bring my husband with me. The downstairs bar/lounge area was so cozy with the fireplace and Christmas decorations.. the tomato bisque and grilled cheese was perfect. My only complaint would be that my room was a bit chilly at night & I couldn’t seem to get it warm. If I were staying more than one night, I would have asked about it. The staff was so friendly and helpful- I really enjoyed my very brief stay there.
- Denise H. (10/5): - Beautiful accommodations and wonderful staff. Highly recommend!
- Thomas (10/5): - Pro: Beautiful setting.
Con: No room control for A/C/heat
- Amy (10/5): - Quaint and secluded feeling property. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Great bar area and dining. Breakfast was wonderful. Bed and breakfast vibe.
- Ashely (10/5): - Seriously what an incredible experience. The property is gorgeous. The room wasn’t fancy but it was really comfortable. The staff were all extremely kind. THE FOOD….. best I’ve had in East Tn! I can’t wait to go back!
- Alexandra (10/5): - Rt Lodge is BEAUTIFUL. Incredible staff, Elizabeth is excellent! The food was the highlight of our stay, impecable.
- Gina (10/5): - Beautiful retreat and a hidden gem.
- James (10/5): - An absolutely beautiful property, loved it. Will return.
- Brooke (6/5): - The property was beautiful! The rooms were not quite what were expecting - the bathrooms feel similar to a camp cabin. They are very small and old. The provided toiletries (mini lotion/shampoo/conditioner) had been opened and used prior to our arrival. The bed was very comfortable though and the decor was very nice.
Dinner at the restaurant was great, but my husband felt he had some minor* food poisoning from the pork. Overall, the experience is very fun and feels very unique. We loved how close the hotel rooms are to the restaurant/main building - very convenient and parking is too! The grounds are also stunning in the spring!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming Inn - The R T Lodge is lovely and charming. Nestled in the woods of Maryville College, the inn is a delightful retreat offering comfort and respite from the day to day. Bring your walking shoes to enjoy the woodland trails and the beautifully landscaped gardens. We didn’t eat dinner at the restaurant, but breakfast was fabulous (gluten free muffins made my day better)! Our room had two twins, perfect for our mother and daughter trip. We were delighted with the quality linens and overall charm of our room. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby. Everything was as it should be at the RT Lodge
- Adalberto (10/5): - Very Beautiful place to stay. Food at the restaurant is excellent but the service is slow. Took close to 10 minutes before I was offered something to drink. But everything else is spectacular.
- Michael (8/5): So cozy and tons of potential! - The RT Lodge is sooo cozy you will swear you are somewhere else. Greeted by friendly staff member who clearly loves her job! Super nice restaurant and bar! Lovely outdoor area! Quiet and safe…
The Lodge has a ton of potential…and they may need to act on that to gain a repeat population. It still looks and feels like a training facility. AC is not in the rooms, so I could see summer being a bit of a challenge. Holiday decorations were minimum but ohhh so much potential to make the lodge amazing looking. Will be back in the fall!
- Verona (10/5): - This is our third time here… we love this lodge.. it’s a warm ambiance to relax and enjoy conversations with my husband
Highly recommended ❣️
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely Lodge - We loved our stay at RT Lodge. The lodge was cozy, clean, beautiful, and tasty food. This was our second stay at this lodge and we would love to stay again!
- Kelly (10/5): - RT Lodge is absolutely amazing! All of the staff are super friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The lodge is so cozy, with numerous fireplaces burning all throughout the morning, day, and night. The 2 living rooms to relax in had the most comfortable chairs and ambiance. The lodge restaurant is some of the best food I’ve ever had! Everything is made from scratch. Sooo good! The included breakfast was fantastic, with fresh juices, coffee, tea, homemade pastries and breads, eggs, homemade granola and yogurt, fresh fruit- you name it! The room was the perfect size for my mom and me, the bed was so comfortable and it was very quiet. The property is surrounded by the woods, so everywhere you look there is beauty. They have free evening s’mores by the outside fire pit, which was a real treat! The joy fish pond was beautiful and all the on-site walking trails were so beautiful and serene. They also have free bicycle rentals to use during your stay. The property is the perfect size- not too large, but just large enough to have your privacy. A great place to socialize or just to relax. I cannot say enough great things about this lodge!
- William (10/5): - Very beautiful and peaceful property. Woodsy setting and very nice accommodations .
- Darlene (10/5): - Nice stay. Nice property. Great breakfast. Nice patio, fire pit, etc.
- Alban (10/5): - The most beautiful hotel ! Very chic atmosphere and a fantastic restaurant and breakfast ! Was a wonderful surprise on our trip !
- Katherine A. (10/5): - The perfect stay central to all the east TN hot spots. The luxury of a hotel and the comfort of a B&B. Loved loved loved our stay, will be back!
- Mary (8/5): - Nice and comfortable room. Cleanliness The staff was very friendly
- Randy (10/5): - Lovely place, quiet, serene, walkable.
- Diana (10/5): - Amazing property. The rooms were great, comfy beds. Food was delicious. My children enjoyed the koi pond and s’mores too ! Will def come again!
- Mitchell (10/5): On a whim. Glad I did. - This place is really nice. Old style lodge, but clean, updated, and decorated to look old. Service here is outstanding.
- DEREK (6/5): - The overall ascetics were appealing, however; the room left alot to be desired for the price. Cheap 32"tv, no refrigerator, no microwave, and paper thin walls all around us.
We were eager to have breakfast the following morning as the staff mentioned multiple times about how great it was. We woke to aldente scrambled eggs, borderline burnt bacon, extemely overcooked potatos, and coffee that was more water than coffee.
- Marc (8/5): - Really comfortable room and bedding. A great lodge experience if anyone wants to do a trip to the Smokies. The restaurant is exquisite.
- Cynthia (10/5): Cabin in the woods - The property is at Maryville College woods. It’s so pretty in the fall. Room is very clean, somewhat rustic. Comfortable bed
- Joel (10/5): A hidden gem in the woods. - Sapling wood furnishings with comfortable king bed, great shower, plus a flat screen tv. Coffee in the foyer each morning, then to the main building for a filling breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, coffee cakes, etc. and fruit and juices. More coffee. Very friendly morning staff. Came in late for dinner after the big football game and they were able to accommodate us.
- Donita (10/5): - Beautiful property, friendly staff, excellent restaurant
- Carherine (8/5): - Thank you for hosting me was my first day near Knoxville, I look forward to coming back!
- David (10/5): - We enjoyed the area and the comfort of the facility- the breakfast was just outstanding!
- Scott (10/5): RT Lodge is a hidden gem! - The place is great. Seemingly is a remote forest but you are literally two miles off the beaten path. One large home style building with large seating areas, restaurant and great new bar area that is open to the large back patio and fire pit. Rooms are in adjacent building of similar style.
- Paul (10/5): - We’ve been to the RT Lodge many times while visiting family in the area. We love the quaint charm and peacefulness even though not far from town. We like all the changes but please don’t change too much. We were there for opening night of the beautiful new bar area. Melissa, the breakfast hostess is especially friendly, making us feel at home. All the staff we met are nice. Of course we love having s’mores at the fire pit. We look forward to many more visits!
- Margaret (10/5): - Beautiful property. Wonderful and friendly staff. Would highly recommend to anyone. I hope to visit again.
- Chlee (8/5): Peace and quite! - Great peaceful retreat!
- William (10/5): - Very courteous staff
- Gabriela (10/5): - We booked 2 rooms for 2 night stay. Service was phenomenal. The fire pit area location and availability hours were great. We spent time there first night. I really liked the bed and having double dressers and double closets in each room. In last night we spent hours relaxing in one the
I had read previous reviews about bathroom being small and it was. But not issue for us at all.
- Shawn (10/5): A Plus Experience! - From the moment we entered the property we were treated like Royalty. Everything was wonderful! Exceptional service, food & accommodations!!! Definitely, will stay again!
- Richard (10/5): - Property gave you a very friendly high end mountain lodge feel. It seemed like you were stepping back into time but not giving up comfort or cleanliness.
- Kara (10/5): - The property was quiet & staff was attentive and friendly. Furnishings were average, very masculine. The seats in dining area are in need of replacement; no cushion! There was construction going onsite and although necessary, I think the lodge could have done a better job at concealing the mess outside.
- Tama (10/5): - Bathroom was small but otherwise we would stay there again
- Mel (10/5): - Romantic weekend away at this gem of a lodge plus exceptional restaurant. We didn’t arrive til early evening but next time we’ll definitely plan to arrive earlier to enjoy the grounds … outdoor fireplace in winter next to a pond with fish and water feature, lovely walks to maryville college. Sitting fireside in the formal lounge with grand piano - perfect place for a deep breath of relaxation!
The rooms are fine true to the RT lodge style … tartan carpet regjdcted in the generous European pillows in the beds. Nice linens and very comfortable.
Love that this is a dog friendly lodge and they have dog friendly rooms for a fee if you bring your pooch.
Beautiful attention to detail in every aspect - the wooden rustic bed heads tge sane detail in the basin surrounds, mirror towel holders even the little toilet trash was wooden!
Beautiful antique dark wood dressers lined the hallways of the lodge with coat racks at entrance and plenty of guest umbrellas if needed.
The grounds were undergoing some winter maintenance which will make it look spectacular in spring and summer ‘22.
Service is exceptionally good. One small error was we were told by our dinner server that breakfast finished at 11am so we turned up at 10am only to be told that breakfast service was over! But Emily sorted a plate of goodies for us.
The restaurant produces exceptional food, all done with details down to the rustic - historic feeling furniture and the oldie worldie duck china.
- Frances (10/5): - One of the most delightful places. Serene setting. We fell in love with it.
- Tessi (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Beautiful place to stay. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. This resort has a special charm.
- Thomas (10/5): - like: ambiance, staff, don't like: nothing
- Jamie (10/5): Thumbs up to RT Lodge! - We loved the RT Lodge! The grounds are beautiful, and accommodations are, too. We loved meeting new people over s’mores and admiring the landscaping and koi pond the next morning.
- geoff (10/5): - Was better than expected!!!! Only problem was no elevator.. being 76 and having to carry luggage up stairs.. but front desk did offered to help with our luggage..,
- Todd (10/5): A must! - Fantastic grounds & staff!
- Lakshmi (10/5): - Spectacular
- Carrie (10/5): - Peaceful, relaxing, friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful setting!!
- Brad (10/5): - Our stay was great ! We had a nice room and view . The breakfast was great ! The grounds are well kept . The only downfall is parking . I suggest that each room have its own space .
- Cathy (10/5): - The lodge is delightful. Such a beautiful place, beautiful grounds, trails, rooms, service. Would love to stay there again.
- Kristin (10/5): - Such a beautiful ambience -- the lush gardens and patio lights -- the pond and fire pits all add to the beauty of the stay!
- Steve (10/5): - Nice and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Anniversary Stay - Very nice one night stay for our anniversary. Dinner was fantastic and lovely grounds for walking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unforgettable weekend - The experience was priceless. Every single staff at the hotel was superb
- Carol (10/5): Close to Perfect! - The view is beautiful. The customer service was excellent. I would definitely come stay again! This was an amazing lodge to stay at!
- Richard (10/5): Great stay! - We did not really know what to expect. We were there to attend a funeral and wanted to be close. The staff, room, grounds, food and everything in general was great. We would definitely recommend staying here and will do so when we return to the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Food and service was excellent but we were in Walker Hiuse and it was VERY loud by our room. Our next door neighbors were up until past am, I rapped on the wall. Well, they thumped back twice as loudly. Incredible! I would come for dinner but never again to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I've stayed here several times. It's so beautiful! Like staying at a retreat. Lush gardens and a koi pond...fire pits... the staff has always been great too!!
- Cynthia (10/5): Memorable - What a special place RT Lodge is. The staff is not only friendly, kind, informed and service driven but they did everything to make our stay memorable and delightful. Thank you one and all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is an old corporate retreat, very well maintained. The grounds are peaceful, clean, and quiet. Buffet breakfast is good, rooms are clean. Bathroom is a little small, but you can get things done. Much better choice than staying at the other local hotels.
- Gayle (8/5): RT Lodge experience - Beautiful atmosphere, caring staff, and clean rooms. My only issue is the firmness of the beds, to firm for me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful place! The R T Lodge is perfect! Our second stay there- perfect for a peaceful getaway, with a trail to hike and just the most relaxing, romantic setting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in Maryville.
- Cynthia (10/5): Hidden Gem - Hidden gem. Perfect if you are looking to relax. Beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the property immensely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved how peaceful it was around the premises! Just the whole experience was awesome! We will definitely be back!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little get away ! Feel like you are miles away but still close to everything! Beautiful nature escape and only a few minutes from home! Great place to go and reconnect with your spouse and still be close to home!
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful property and lovely service. - We had a one-night stay on the way to Waynesville. It was a lovely, relaxing property.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This lodge was beyond our expectations. We were in a Tranquill &
Serene resort. The grounds were impeccable. We would of furthered our stay but they had a previous wedding party booked for the weekend. We will most definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay didn’t want to leave. Great staff and great accommodations. Would go back in a heartbeat
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy and Accommodating - My family and I enjoyed our stay at RT Lodge. The staff was accommodating, the room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was ok. Parking was ok. The town of Maryville is sleepy and perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. We would definitely stay here again. Fairly close to Pigeon Forge. About a 45 min drive.
