- Ivana (2/5): - I find it little ironic that I am asked to review the hotel that booked my room to guests with extended stay and put me in another hotel. The other hotel was ok, but I booked Urbano WEEKS ago and this is where I wanted to stay. I was very excited to stay at a hotel that looked really cool and funky, and even sent few other people there that were in Accra before me. I am deeply disappointed that my reservation was booked to someone else and the hotel decided to turn me down without my choice or any prior communication. When I arrived, they just sent me off to another hotel (walking distance). Again, the other hotel (Roots) was ok, but that is NOT what I booked and where I wanted to stay.

Really nice room, great bed, with a nice sofa a fridge and a freezer. The surroundings are nice and quiet, spend your money here!!

Around the area, there are opportunities for street and fine dining, shopping malls, street food and banks. Will surely stay here again
- Coastal669497 (10/5): A pleasant and enjoyable stay in Osu. - Absolutely enjoyed my seven days at Urbano Hotel by Roots. Was picked up from the airport by shuttle. Whisked from the airport and brought to the hotel with no fuss or trouble. The check-in was trouble free. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating. The staff were great. I was escorted to my room. Again, great service and friendly staff. This being my first time in Ghana the staff were more than willing to give me guidance on things to do, places to go, tours to consider, and restaurants to consider. Grateful for all the input from staff on all aspects of my stay. Truly appreciated local suggestions. Favorite experience was getting a chance to meet with the hotel manager about an incident that had nothing to do with Urbano but set me back. The hotel manager was, like his staff, more than willing to meet with me and sit down and talk to me about my trip. He, like his staff, offered suggestions of food, places to go, and nightlife activities. Definitely a surprise find in Osu. In the hustling and bustling Oxford Street area know that the area is busy. 24/7 people are walking up and down Oxford Street. I thought it wonderful and suggested the safety of Accra and Ghana. Just a great experience. Highly recommend. Also want to point out that Urbano is just one of three Roots properties all within walking distance of each other. Each property is a little different. A pleasant and enjoyable stay in Osu.

- Bezonian3 (4/5): Not a boutique experience - Hotel Urbano is adequate. It is a cut rate hotel masquarading as a boutique hotel. BTW The photos DO NOT match the hotel itself. The wifi works and the bot water works, but otherwise they provide the bare minumum for the cost. The location in Osu is convenient if you want to walk to a lot of places. I have stayed there twice in a two year period and found it much less accomodating and more expensive the second time. They have another hotel near by. I suspect that that hotel is more upscale and they pretend that they are the same. I am sure you could do much worse, but just don't expect more than a place to sleep.
- Rodney (8/5): - I liked the property but they nickel and dimed me. The Expedia app has no price change from one guest to two guests. Yet if you show up with your wife, like I did, I was charged an extra $70. And after spending a week there and paying for my mini bar items, $8, a clerk ran and got me out of the airport shuttle to make sure I paid for the extra Fanta from the night before. As for the airport shuttle, I’ve never been asked to pay for one at any hotel. I was told it was free only one way. So since I took it from the airport, I had to pay $8 to get to the airport. Lastly I went 7 days without a hot shower in Rm 222 and endured a barking dog in Rm 223 for the duration of my trip. The area felt safe but I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. The vendors and the beggar’s aggressively singled out the one American in my group, me. Overall a nice hotel, recently built, good security team, friendly staff, and located in the heart of everything.

- Rose (6/5): - We were given a room different from what we originally booked, and it was clearly too small for two grown women. Despite this, we managed to make it work. The location is fantastic, and the staff were friendly, although there were moments when service could be improved. Overall, a decent stay, but the room size and booking accuracy could use some attention.
- JONATHAN (6/5): Good location but room too noisy - Nice location on the busiest street in Accra but the acoustics were very bad with a lot of noise outside and from reception. Staff were a little indifferent and it was expensive for Ghana.

The helped me to track the uber down to retrieve my phone. I am so grateful to everyone at Urbano. When I come back to Ghana I am definitely staying here again.

- Nicole702808 (8/5): Decent 2-Star Hotel - We stayed at the Urbano Hotel for a couple of nights with our tour group and it checked off all of the necessity boxes (e.g., Clean, safe and convenient location). However, despite having several floors, the hotel does not have an elevator. The hotel has security that guards the front door and monitors the property. The lobby area is small with only a few seats. Raphic acted as not only a front desk agent, but also an excellent teacher who taught us common phrases in Twi (local language used in Accra) that we could use during our time in Accra. Raphic was extremely professional, helpful in providing suggestions on how to best explore the area and took pride in sharing knowledge about Ghana. The restaurant that is connected to the lobby is slightly bigger than the lobby and has a reasonably-priced menu (there is another eating space with food service connected to the hotel). Other than the very limited breakfast buffet, food service took at least 30 minutes (regardless of what was ordered). Recommend ordering at least 30-45 minutes before ready to eat (especially if there is more than one person). Evans, our waiter on most days, was courteous and professional. The rooms vary in size based on the room type selected. Recommend requesting a different room if the assigned room is too compact. The hotel location is in walking distance to various restaurants (the desserts at Chocolate Sarayi were tasty), shopping stalls, banks and places to get groceries.

This property was literally centrally located, like right in the middle of fine dining and street food, shopping on the street or in shops, transportation and you even have a “7/11” directly across the street! The staff was very helpful and my room was tiny, but clean. The small was big enough for a single person. I would stay there again.

The apology felt forced and ingenuine. 1. Debit Card left with staff accidentally and no one contacted me; it was upon my discovery that I found it was missing and had to reach out to hote. 2. Security allowed a local into the building. He joined me in the elevator; got off my floor and pushed for my contact information. I felt very unsafe. 3. Items removed from room at time of cleaning and never contacted me. I called hotel; went to retrieve items and staff could not retrieve. No one knew where it was. I waited until the next day; had to contact hotel AGAIN. I was then inconvenienced to return to said hotel after moving to a new place. I asked them to deliver after all my concerns and they refused. I reported all of this to the manager. Her facial expression never changed when explaining it all and she simply said "sorry". It was very unapologetic. I then asked to be contacted and the same manager simply sent me a text saying again "sorry". No accountability; no consequence, no refund, no offer for additional stay, wouldn't even deliver items that they were clearly trying to keep. Horrible experience. I moved to another hotel nearby - much better customer service and attention to detail.

- Menelik (8/5): - The property was super convenient even though the ladies of the evening were all over Oxford St. Stuff was super pleasant and acomodating, facility was super clean, loved my room... areas of imporovement for me was to vend espresso coffee as it is hard to find strong coffee in Accra. Last but not least, I rated the hotel one less start due to an evening where the power in my room kept going out where the stuff finally allowed me to spend the night in a different room which disturbed my sleep. I will strongly suggest for others to stay at Urbano and plan to stay there again should I visit Accra again.

I was mis-sold a Duplex room which was meant to have 1 x Queen bed and 1 x Double Sofa bed, upon arrival the "welcome" was abrupt, rude and she could not have been less enthusiastic. The room has been changed compared to their photos online and as you can see from my photos the sofa bed is no longer there, it is literally just a sofa, which you can't sleep on. I was told to simply move the sofa cushions and sleep on the floor!! They didn't even hide the fact that the "sofa bed" wasn't a bed, because upon entering the room it didn't even have any bedding. Whilst I was offered a twin room, this room is not the same as a duplex and I would not have been granted any refund for the difference...so that'd be a no thanks. I literally checked out because there was other issues including: - Bathroom window was broken and could not be closed meaning the temperature was 35 degrees - Bedroom windows were not soundproofed and being on Oxford Street you can hear EVERYTHING so good luck if you'd like to sleep - The hotel is directly underneath the flight path of the nearby airport which was very loud due to the issue with no soundproofing The most shocking thing is that nobody, not one review so far seems to mention that this place is in the middle of a red-light district. When you leave the hotel door you'll approached by MANY prostitutes, hawkers and beggars who will follow you and demand money without taking no for an answer.

- Elvina (8/5): - The property was in a great location. There are dining options, lounges, ShopRite and many vendors in the area. The hotel is fairly small but the staff is very attentive. I had an issue because the duplex I booked advertised a sleep sofa but there was actually a small loveseat that a Did not convert to a bed. They offered to put a mattress on the floor which was totally unacceptable. We were then moved to a small room with two twin beds. I chose this hotel and the room I booked because of the space it offered so I was very disappointed. Thankfully, I only booked for one night. The advertised breakfast was not very appetizing but I am very selective so I don’t fault the hotel. I would likely chose a different hotel if I returned. The I ❤️Accra sign right outside the door was an added plus. It is a great photo backdrop.

Since it is on the Main Street it was easy to get picked up by cars or simply walk down the road whether for entertainment or shopping. Security guards were kind & still made the grounds feel safe.

- E2079PL (10/5): Enjoyable experience at Urbano in Accra - The hotel staff were very pleasant and attentive. Additionally, they arranged for a hotel airport shuttle which was very appreciated. The location is good, with easy access to the airport, as well as the main areas of Accra. The room was small and basic, but no complaints. The housekeeping staff were kind, and the room was always clean. There's 24/7 security and someone is always available to assist with any requests.
- Alaicha (8/5): - Generally, my experience at Urbano was great other than issues with my room not being ready on my first night meaning I needed to be place in an upgraded room and move the next day. Had the upgraded room been well maintained, with a working a/c this would’ve been great, but there were definitely visible signs of age and wear reducing the cleanliness feel. However, one I was given my actual room the space and maintenance was great, breakfast had good options, staff were friendly. Two issues here was the lack of standard drink options e.g., malt and coke at the bar and that without the a/c you could smell the rodent that had did in the ceiling.

Offered a glass of a traditional Ghana drink which was very tasty. My room was lovely. The shower water flow was excellent. I loved the room decor! On my return to Ghan I will definitely be staying at Urbano!

- Curious34493792304 (2/5): Horrible Hotel - avoid! - Do NOT stay here. Extremely noisy, shower barely functions, lumpy beds, stained pillow cases, torn towels. Staff is very pleasant but not competent. I stayed here one night and canceled the rest of my stay. They also over billed me and could not figure out how to fix it. I went to the Accra City hotel which was excellent- and the same price!
- HANISH (8/5): Urbano Accra - Good location but Small Rooms - Room light was pathetic, quite dark and dismal. Electrical sockets were not working properly the first day but the staff took care of it the next day. Room is quite small and claustrophobic. Service / Staff is reasonable and make up for the negatives in a way. Also, the location is fantastic.

- Ashley (10/5): - The hotel is located near many restaurants and nightlife. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Upon arrival after a long flight the staff allowed me to check in early to get some rest before I started my day. For me as a solo traveler they made me feel very welcomed.

- Clare (10/5): - Booked this for a quick weekend trip with a friend. The room was small (pretty much just beds bathroom) but very clean—exactly what we needed! I loved having access to a gym. The staff were also very responsive to our needs and even switched us to an open 2-bed room when we arrived, as we had originally only been able to book a single queen through Expedia. Overall, it's not the type of room to lounge in given the size, but it did the trick for us and felt safe and clean. Definitely would recommend!

- BoardingPass675108 (8/5): Good hotel in central Accra - The hotel is on Oxford Street in Accra with several casinos, supermarket and many shops near by. The hotel has a good restaurant on the Ground floor, and they have a good menu card. I loved the avocado on toast for breakfast. Rooms are clean and get services every day, and the staff are kind and helpfull. They also have a gym and a patio

I mean they put customers first. The location is superb! Right on Oxford st. Shopping, restaurants, night life all within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel!
- Sasha_needs_holiday (10/5): Good hotel - Stayed at Urbano Hotel with a group of friends for 2 nights. Great location for nearby shops, ATM, and restaurants, no taxi required. Used the hotel service for an airport transfer too. Hotel staff were very friendly and was always greeted at the main entrance and by reception staff. They were very helpful and ensured we were all in suitable rooms (facing off the main street and with good air con). The Arabian courtyard lounge was a nice communal space for us to sit in and relax. Breakfast tasty. Good Wi-Fi, although did sporadically drop out for a period. We also visited their rooftop pool and gym, which is situated a short walk away, and had lovely views over Accra.

- Valentine (8/5): - The property is in the perfect location. Surrounded by great restaurants and night life. Lots of options are walkable from hotel. The only issues was the bathroom shower head was broken and would not stay attach to the bracket. So having the shower while holding the shower head was inconvenient.
- EHAB (6/5): - The hotel is in a crowded area . there is NO Spa at the Hotel , No pool , the reception will give you a pass to access the pool in a nearby site . breakfast has very limited choices . for those who cant access stairs , there is no elevator .
- Sterling (8/5): - It’s close to everything, but no microwave in rooms and if you come in late with food , you can’t get no one to warm it up. Food is pretty high in hotel so spin wisely, no elevators at all so get ready to walk up and downstairs. A/C cold be colder my first room was hot as well they change my room out ( thanks) tv didn’t work all the time but didn’t care because I was out seeing Ghana overall good hotel nice people they just have some work to do .0h when they do your Covid-19 test the people at the front desk get a tip from the guy when they bring them customers I know because they didn’t know I understand twi language when they was talking lol jokes on you but again nice hotel honest reviews stayed 2 weeks

- Aurelia (6/5): Noisyot the best for business travel - This hotel was not what I had hoped for, as it was in a very busy part of Osu, and was thus very noisy. I often was awakened early in the morning due to noise, and would have a hard time going to sleep at night for the same reasons. The bed wasn't as soft as I would have liked. The AC in the gym was broken, so that was quite unpleasant. The staff were very kind and did their best to ensure a positive experience. It is very central, but if peace and quiet mean a lot to you, I would suggest a different hotel.

- JessaRay (8/5): Great Stay in the Heart of the City - I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Urbano Hotel with my 5 year old son. The customer service and hospitality was exceptional. Staff all friendly, accommodating, and considerate. I was close to all the places I love KFC, Second Cup, Shoprite (grocery store). I enjoyed their pool and the lovely buffet breakfast. I will definitely stay again and I highly recommend if you are looking to experience city life and go to the parties / nightlife which is all walking distance.
