- Lisa (10/5): - I love this Inn! It always clean, staff is excellent, rooms are always clean and it is very quite!
- Paula (10/5): - Great location for attending American Players Theatre, Taliesen, and visiting charming Spring Green. It is
- Jane (10/5): - Bucolic retreat! Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and also the outdoor areas. Perfect location a few minutes from American Players Theater and Taliesin.
- Alan (10/5): - Great place to stay. Everything was great.
- Edward (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised. The property was
completely renovated and exceptionally clean.
The breakfast was very good. Can't say enough
about the staff. They were excellent!
- Bruce (10/5): - The property was clean and well kept. All the folks we encountered were friendly and helpful. The Frank Lloyd Wright decor was a bonus, especially the lounge. This is a really nice place to relax!
- PRASHANT (10/5): Great stay and breakfast - Stayed for 1 night to visit House on the Rock. Location is pretty and calm. Breakfast was the best part, standard continental but the quality was fresh. Old property but maintained well. Wish we stayed longer.
- Zandra (10/5): - This property had a great gym facility!! The rooms were wonderful !!
- Renee (10/5): - Property was close to American Players. Perfect spot.
- Bill (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Also a great pool and workout room.
- Therese (10/5): - The staff is super friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is wonderful. There's lots of nice touches, like a firepit and bird feeders where you can watch the wildlife while you enjoy your breakfast.
- Deanna (10/5): - Lovely hotel- great staff and especially loved the pool area.
Only concern was the mustiness which clearly is something the staff are working on. Dehumidifiers lined the halls once most guests checked out.
- Laura (10/5): - Beautiful property. Staff was amazing. Highly recommend staying here.
- Jen (8/5): - I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was so so clean! The pool was great. The grounds are so pretty and the rooms were completely adequate. And, again everything was spotless which I really appreciate in a hotel.
The staff was nice. The man that was working the evening shift went above and beyond to get the fire started for us.
Would definitely book again.
** Steam room could use a little maintenance. And, the gobs of rules posted all over the place are a little off-putting. But, perhaps in the past people have done something to create a need for so many rules.
- Ann (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. It was very quiet, set back from the road so we enjoyed the evenings outside. There was only one bedside table which was inconvenient for the person on that dose of the bed but we made it work.
- Ms. (10/5): A slice of Heaven! - It was truly amazing. I want to go back right now!
- Margaret (10/5): - Location was perfect for visiting Taliesin, staff was friendly and helpful, the included breakfast buffet was tasty and convenient. The fire pit area and getting to watch all the birds at the feeders were also a plus.
- Timothy (10/5): - Nice. We extended our stay
- Vance (10/5): - We wish you had a hot tub by the swimming pool.
- edward (10/5): - staff was personable and engaging.
- Chris (10/5): - Friendly..helpful staff ...good breakfast
- bob (10/5): - A well located old fashioned sort of motel. Great staff and comfy room.
- mike (10/5): - The staff is well versed in the hospitality of keeping you engaged in the community happenings and providing a great place for relaxing.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Had a nice stay, but price is high, probably because of proximity to APT. Room was comfortable, but smallish.
- Joan (10/5): - Beautiful low building in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed by architect and Taliesin fellow Joseph Fabris in 1988. The Inn offers a clean pool, relaxing hot tub, well-equipped exercise room, and walkable grounds. The solid breakfast has something to please everyone. Rooms are comfortable but compact.
- James (8/5): - We have mixed feelings about the Spring Valley Inn. It is a quiet and lovely location. Attractive design. Hot breakfast is similar to what you find in many hotels - scrambled eggs in big batches. What disappointed us is that the place is dated. Everything works - but it’s all original. It feels like they have note done any updating of anything, really. There was a charging station near the bed, but outlets were very hard to access throughout the room. The bathroom is remarkably small. Overall we felt that it was not worth the higher price that we paid.
- Susan (10/5): Nice Stay in Spring Green - We loved this property. Very clean and comfortable room. Wonderful staff! There is so much to do in the area.
- Rachel (10/5): - Beautiful family owned and ran property. Especially loved the bird life outside the lounge windows and the fire pit at night. And the pool, hot tub, wet sauna and dry sauna!!
- Charlotte (10/5): - The place was exceptionally clean. The entire staff was was hospitable and catered to us. I would recommend Spring Valley Inn and we'll definitely stay there again.
- Charles (10/5): - Close to American Players Theater
- Dr Michael (10/5): - I have stayed here at Spring Valley Inn three times now over the last many years and have always been in awe of how I've been treated like an old friend every time. I've been in hotels all over Europe that are cold and dismissive. Never this way at Spring Valley Inn. I've been in expensive hotels in Europe that were not clean, even at $800 a night, with dirty trim boards, dust on the lamps, etc. My room at Spring Valley Inn was spotless. Everything was freshly cleaned and dustless. The carpet was spotless, super clean. The room smelled fresh. The linens were like new. Spring Valley Inn is welcoming. The pool and hot tub were clean. No mold smells anywhere in the pool area. The morning breakfast is in professional, heated servers, with excellent eggs and sausage, biscuits and gravy, and the usual cereals, none being tasteless crap like the big name hotels. Super clean breakfast area and super friendly workers there. Alcohol is available for evening social relaxing. The architecture and building are the work of the motel's father, and reflect Frank Lloyd Wright's principle's of architecture, though designed by the manager's father. I'll be back many more times. All my friends back at home in Kansas have been here multiple times since I first introduced them here. I'll be back and so will they!
- Kim A (10/5): - Very good value. Nice but not a five star hotel, but good value for the price. Nice and quiet in rural setting.
- Michael (10/5): - Great spa amenities, super friendly staff, cool building design.
- Tracey (8/5): - Three minute drive to Taliesin. Five minutes to town and restaurants. Right off main highway but in a quiet location. Nice fire pit and even a small bar on the premises.
- KEVIN (10/5): LOVELY WRIGHT THEMED PROPERTY - Amazing location close to all FLW sites that we wanted to visit
- Joseph (10/5): Spring Valley Inn Night. - Very nice room - liked the Frank Lloyd Wright theme and the terrific pool.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Sarah (10/5): - Clean, quiet property with wonderful staff and nice amenities. Quick drive into downtown Spring Green.
- Thomas (8/5): - They were working out a few issues because they just opened for the season.
- Sandra (10/5): - From check-in at the front desk, I knew this was going to be a great hotel experience and it exceeded my expectations. What personal, attentive service! I plan to return with my daughter. Excellent.
- Cyndy (10/5): - Spring Valley Inn is a beautiful property and the staff is outstanding! Audrey was so helpful in finding options for meals and things to do! We'll be back!!
- Felicia (10/5): - Staff was very attentive. Full breakfast, not just dry cereal and doughnuts.
- Paul (8/5): - Great location near Spring Green. Nice rooms, pool jacuzzi, firepit. Very helpful staff.
- Susan (10/5): - The Inn is very conveniently located near Taliesin and House on the Rock. Staff were very nice and recommended a great restaurant in town called Reunion. Would stay here again.
- Kerry (10/5): - I had never been to the Spring Valley Inn before, but after staying there last weekend, I will highly recommend it to any who are going to Spring Green. The Inn is charming and I love the Frank Lloyd Wright design throughout. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Pat's Place lounge was a lovely place to relax and have a drink after a performance at American Players. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. The location was perfectly located for anything we wanted to do.
- William (10/5): - Need an illuminated sign near road and driveway entrance lights.
Very well maintained older property run by folks who really care about guests.
- Robert (8/5): - The pool area was awesome. Only complaint was the beds were a bit too hard for our comfort. That's why 4 instead of 5 stars.
- frank (10/5): - Very clean, family owned facility. Lots of Frank Lloyd Wright “type” design in the building & furnishings. Only 2 miles from Taliesin.
- Kirsty (8/5): - Convenient location to explore
- Elizabeth (6/5): - This hotel is overpriced. Every thing is adequate, cleanliness, breakfast etc. It commands the prices it gets bc there are really many choices for APT attendees.
- Gail (10/5): Super front desk - Audrey at the front desk is amazing! She explained all the amenities and policies with great cheer, then marked restaurants and local attractions with insight and enthusiasm. SVI is the perfect launchpad for visiting Frank Lloyd Wright sites, American Players Theater and the scenic parks, drives and valleys surrounding SG.
- Michael (10/5): - Loved the landscaping. The Garden Room was special and made our delicious breakfast so enjoyable. The fire pit late in the evening was a real plus. Audrey did a splendid job in details and making all in our party feel welcomed! Loved our experience.
- Jim (10/5): - Great place to stay near the Frank Lloyd Wright tours. Friendly family run staff, clean, quiet and has nice facilities.
- Tim (10/5): - It fits the area. For being a older hotel it was excellent. Everything was great
- Georgeann (10/5): - Located within minutes of the House on the Rock Resort, the American Players Theatre, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin East, the Spring Valley Inn began as a visitor’s center designed by Taliesin and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, later developed by the current owners, John and Patricia Rasmussen, into the current Spring Valley Inn, a project overseen by Charles Montooth, apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright and member of the Taliesin Associated Architects. As a fellow academic and widow of an architectural historian specializing in modern American architecture, the authenticity of all this lovely inn’s appointments and furnishings was not lost on me. The staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful, the breakfasts tasty and substantial (and to be enjoyed in the gorgeous Pat’s Place lounge and bar, the original Taliesin visitor’s center), and the very large enclosed pool both handsome and fit for a dedicated swimmer. If world-class architecture, attention to detail, and excellent personal service in privately owned accommodations conveniently close to one of the best classical theatre companies in the U.S. AND a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, the Spring Valley Inn is for you.
- John (8/5): - Wright inspired hotel/motel near APT theater.
- Shelley (8/5): - The style, layout, and ambiance are all very good. The breakfast is plentiful. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, and includes cable TV, a coffee station, and a mini fridge. I appreciated that the bathroom, although quite small, had a curved shower curtain providing more room, a built-in shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser, great towels, and a magnifying mirror over the sink. The service was exceptional from check-in, during breakfast, and at night in the bar with Audrey. This is our second time staying her and we will return.
- PHIL (10/5): - We had an excellent experience at the Spring Valley Inn. Cool Frank Loyd Wright architecture and theme throughout the Inn. The proprietor is excellent, and the setting is calm and relaxing.
Fabulous and healthy free breakfast and an evening bar. You can also buy beer to go on the premises.
I would highly recommend it to both local and national travelers.
- Robert (10/5): - Staff was great, we enjoyed the scenic roads, house on the rock was a fun place and town of Spring Green was very enjoyable. The resort was very clean and had a beautiful lounge and outside firepit, enjoyed watching the birds. We will visit again. Thank you
- Darla (10/5): - Lovely place. Good breakfast. Beautiful location.
- Frances (10/5): - Property was very private and secluded. Great service and nice people. Clean rooms and great breakfast.
- William (10/5): - It has a unique feel that reflects a Frank Lloyd Wright design and has a personal touch of service. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again if I were in the area! I would give it 5 Stars!!!!!
- Susan (10/5): - This is our second stay and exceeded expectations! I highly recommend this intimate and comfortable place!
- Suzanne (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
- Kim (10/5): - Audrey made the visit a wonderful experience.
- Steven (10/5): - This place is so cool. Frank Lloyd Wright designed furniture gave this place an otherworldly Twin Peaks vibe... which I'm all about.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great weekend getaway - It was a very nice place to stay. We felt very welcomed when we arrived.
- james (10/5): Nice hideaway - Great clean rooms. Nice pool, hot tub, sauna. Free breakfast. On site bar area.
- Michael (10/5): Great Stay - Quiet place, friendly staff.
- Paul (10/5): - I really liked the Frank Lloyd Wright prints in the hallways and how they incorporated some of his design elements in the rooms. Good idea considering a lot of people staying there are probably visiting Taliesen. Nice sekection of breakfast items.
- Jeana (10/5): - This hotel was great! Great staff, very clean & really nice breakfast.
- CHRISTOPHER (10/5): Perfect base for a Taliesen visit. - Loved the Spring Valley Inn. Great Lloyd Wright vibe throughout. Also the amenities (especially the hot tub and pool) are a cut above rhe pack. Decent breakfast and efficient and pleasant service.
- Luanne (10/5): - It was nice
- Michael (10/5): - The staff are great. The room was excellent and very comfortable, kudos to the cleaning staff, excellent work. Beautifully maintained building and grounds.
- Erin (10/5): - Hotel very clean , staff was super friendly and helpful! Free breakfast was excellent. Pool area great. Would definitely recommend staying here to everyone traveling to that area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful staff!! - Fantastic staff!!! Nice, clean and comfortable place to stay.
- Maureen (4/5): - The property seems to be in a time warp, our room was very small, the bathroom is tiny, and the bed was lumpy.
It was so bad that we abandoned our second night and just headed home, the thought of spending another night on that bed was unbearable. The staff was friendly and the place is clean.
- Tom (10/5): - Our experience was wonderful.
The hotel is beautiful and very clean and well maintained.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Andrew (6/5): Lousy bathroom - Bathroom was poorly designed. Not enough grab bars. Liquid soap wasn't very good. No ledges in shower for personal effects.
- Chris cox Spoken (10/5): An unnoticed gem. - Lovely motel with very nice amenities. Staff was great. Our only complaint was the mildewy smell in our room.
- Joan (8/5): Almost Perfect - Nice to see that the Inn had been updated since our last visit pre-Covid. Clean, quite, and close to our destination at American Players Theater. Staff very helpful and accommodations quite good. For the price, I was not impressed with the complimentary breakfast — scrambled eggs and such on floppy paper plates does not do it! Please, not again!! Bonfire a nice touch in the evening.
- Reed (10/5): - Perfect location for plays and tours. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff!!
- John (10/5): - Absolutely charming place, laid back atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend. We'll be back next season.
- Richard (10/5): - Excellent location for all of the local attractions we were going to.
- Sonja (10/5): - We loved the style! We were in Spring Green to tour Taliesin! Our granddaughters LOVED the pool. Shower/toilet area was very cramped - but not an issue.
- Lloyd (4/5): - Room was damp/ slight smell of mildew. Running the AC made the room cold but didn't reduce the humidity. Resulted in cold and clammy feeling
- Judy (6/5): - We enjoyed the large day room. However , the inn is run by 2 people that wear many hats and seem overwhelmed. The bathrooms were outdated and worn !! Water damage on doors.Musty odor in hallways!
- Pamela (10/5): - Lovely property! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
- Bernadette (10/5): - Clean room and lovely setting.
- Matthew (10/5): Wonderful weekend at Spring Valley Inn - The hotel was a little older but well kept & clean and close to plenty of attractions / acrivities. The surrounding area is gorgeous and the hotel provides plenty of outdoor seating and the fire pit to enjoy it. We got some fantastic recommendations at check-in and loved all they recommended! Staff was incredibly friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Spring Valley was conveniently located and the surrounding land was beautiful
- Patrick (10/5): - We loved the style of the property - right on the Frank Lloyd Wright vibe. The amenities are amazing - from the large pool/sauna/hot tub to the 'bird' lounge to the nightly fire. We loved it!
- Julie (10/5): - Close to Taliesin and the House On The Rock. Friendly staff made my family feel very welcome and they were helpful with suggestions, information and idea. We had a very nice mini vacation.
- Sarah (10/5): Cool, retro motel - I felt like I took a step back in time--in a good way--while staying at the Spring Valley Inn. It reminded me of traveling with my grandparents in the 80s when we would stay in motels
- Joan (10/5): - Staff very friendly , grounds were beautiful, we would stay there again if we are in the area
- Mark (10/5): - This is a wonderful place to stay! The staff was very friendly and all the offered amenities are truly first rate. We’re already planning to visit again.
- Ann (10/5): - Gorgeous natural grounds, wonderful indoor swimming pool and whirlpool
- David (10/5): Retro Gem - Friendly staff, super clean and great beds in a retro environment. We will stay here again.
- Holly (10/5): - The staff was very nice. The property is very well done.
