Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent value accommodation - I stayed at Reunion Heritage for 2 nights on my first visit to Penang. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and provide great value. The location is an easy walk to Chew Jetty, many street art
- Joseph (8/5): Solid hotel in great location - Reunion Heritage House delivers a solid experience for those who want an affordable, clean and modern place to stay in the heart of historic George Town. The only problem was the very slow WiFi.
- Kim (10/5): Nice boutique hotel in convenient location - Overall a great hotel to stay at in Penang. It’s really well located and has spacious rooms that are clean and in good condition. However we had some issues with leaking water which meant that towels had to be spread across to floor around the bathroom which wasn’t so pleasant. Additionally, the walls are very thin and we sometimes felt like the guests next to our room stood in our room. That was mostly an issue during the night. We would stay here again though as the value was very good.
- Brenda (8/5): Great stay, but not big people friendly. - Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was quaint and clean. Close to Clan Jetties and walkable to esplanade and komtar. Only one downfall, showers are extremely tight. I'm a larger girl and needed to shower with the shower door open. Apparently they couldn't accommodate us with a different room till the next day. We opted out since it was too much hassle to pack and move just for one more night.
- Trung (10/5): Amazing Accommodation in the town - I couldn't find any point to complain them. They made me satisfied from the first moment I arrived until the last second I depatured. I will come back here in the next trip.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We liked the location it was centralized in town. The walls were paper thin could here other guests easily. Not much for cable tv if you are english or american but overall the room was just fine. Good ice cream!!
- Pui Ying (8/5): Good location - Place is value for money except that my daughter's face got bitten by mosquitoes for all the 3 nights we were there. Mosquito repellent doesn't seem to work!! Also, don't like it that the shower doesn't have a door, so half of the toilet is wet through...not good
- Matthew (8/5): Great location and terribly hip and cozy - A cute, hip hotel ideally located in the heart of George Town close to everything but not right on Chulia Street or Love Lane. Rooms are extremely small but do a great job of pairing the old, original architecture with modern appliances and renovations, and the wifi worked well for the vast majority of our 4-night stay.
The included breakfast is pretty poor so we skipped it after the first day and opted to get breakfast from hawker stalls instead. Sure, it's not the most cost-savvy thing to do to skip a free breakfast, but in this case we felt it was well worth it. Why come to Penang if you don't sample the local cuisine at every opportunity?
Some of the floor boards are starting to rot/weaken and so we mentioned this to the hotel staff when we checked out, but otherwise our room was very clean and cozy. The free filtered water on the ground floor was appreciated. Overall a very good value for the cost.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location in Georgetown! - Our duplex room was cute and charmingly furnished. There is no soundproofing, so noise from banging doors and loud passersby was an issue, but fortunately not a big one as this wasn't frequent because our room was quite deep inside the building. Please do not book this room if you have massive luggage or are averse to climbing steps, which are quite steep (both leading up to and within the room). The breakfast was extremely basic -- not an issue since why waste tummy space on hotel breakfast when Penang street food is so great? -- but the made-in-house ice cream sold at the lobby are awesome (flavours are strong and very natural, instead of masked by heaps of sugar). We spotted 2 bicycle on the premises, which the hotel was happy to let us use, but we eventually declined because no lock was provided. O the whole, this was a very nice stay, and we would recommend it to future visitors.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location , easy to find local food and nigh market, to shopping center within 15mins
- Suyu (4/5): - Do not ever take room 116. The window faces the street and from 4 to 8 am every day there is a thriving newspaper distribution taking place next door with motorbikes coming by, picking up their allotment and going off every 15 minutes or so. Take this room only if you sleep like the dead.
- Telly (8/5): - It is a lovely house.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good strategic place for tourists. Hotel room is clean👍
- Li Chin (10/5): Perfect place!!! - Overall, stay was excellent.
The rooms are beautifully done. The towels & bedlinen are very clean.
Check-in was a breeze. Staff at reception were very helpful & always provide services with a smile, especially Maizam.
Location of hotel is great, with places of interest within minutes walk.
Will definitely stay there again.
- JeatYoong (10/5): Nice hotel close to anywhere - There have a cafe inside the hotel and bar beside the hotel. Hotel is in the center so it is very convenient to go anywhere. Nice staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - In a quieter location but still close enough to sights and transport.
Staff very friendly
- Camille (10/5): - Love the design. A beautiful boutique hotel in a rough area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): To many pillows - My bedroom was quite small and my bed had 6 pillows. I was not able to move
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel - The hotel is amazing- remodel from a old house. Staffs are super nice and helpful- give us a map and pointed out all interesting POI, very approachable and reception 24hrs. There is no elevators, if living on higher levels might not be too convenient for elderly and people with disabilities. But they do have ground level rooms and staff will help you will luggage. Breakfast is amazing and restaurant seating is beautiful.
- kong (8/5): nice hotel - very nice place, friendly staff, quite place, must try the dessert.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Instagrammable hotel - Very nicely decorated. Good location. But tricky if walking back at night as the neighbouring streets can be dimly lit. Also, strange that Grab drivers always seemed to stop at the back door. Great breakfast!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - - Good Service
- Friendly Staff
- For cleanliness, still need imporvement
- Breakfast variety too little
- Roy (10/5): Stay in Georgetown - The two check in staff were excellent and went out of there way to makes us feel welcome. The gave good advice to where to go on our thee night stay with them. The breakfast was simple and perhaps a little more variety however they must cater for the majority but as European is was a little simple.
- Anne86 (10/5): Their Moto is "Our Second Home" - The hotel's ethos is that their guests should feel that they are in a home away from home.
When your taxi brings you up to the hotel your heart sinks a bit as to "OMG, what have I booked" but just as you step through the door of the hotel bliss descends. The reception and coffee shop are at the front as have been designed really really well.
The whole air of the place is boutique style and has been very sympathetically renovated. With the history lesson on the walls
The location of hotel is superb with everything in George Town within a short walking distance. We were able to walk to all the street art from the hotel
They have a masseuse that works with the hotel and we really enjoyed the Thai massage by Oi
Breakfast was really good and just the right quality
Very pleasant stay
- Yan Ping (10/5): Decent stay - We had a premium duplex room for 2 nights. No lifts and the stairs to level 2 is very steep so you have to be careful. Room is big as expected and bed and pillows are comfortable. Sink is a little too high but rainfall shower is good. The room is not soundproof so you can hear neighbours walking and talking when they come back late - a little annoying if you are trying to catch some sleep. A little dusty in the room but the room has a unique design. There is a simple free breakfast where you have some finger food and you can cook your own soft-boiled eggs using their interesting device. Walking distance to the jetty and good food in Penang.
- Monica (8/5): Nice Hotel with Friendly Staffs - The hotel was nice and comfortable. Location was good as well. However there was a strong pungent smell in the toilet, couldnt bear with the smell by the second day and the staff immediately resolved the matter by offering us a new room which was good. Thank you!
- marcel (8/5): Definitely coming here again - Other than the problem connecting with wifi and less TV channels, overall, it’s a very nice and cosy place to stay. Will definitely stay here again next time.
- Sze (10/5): Nice little hotel at Victoria street - *Check in was quick and fast ,
*Room was neat and clean
*TV Channels were limited but clear
*Staffs were friendly and helpful
*Breakfast was great too even though choices were limited
- Jeyasekara (10/5): Beautiful Rustic Boutique Hotel - A lovely hotel with very pleasant staff. The room is creatively decorated and makes us feel very at home. The only concern we had was the safety of our one year old son. I will strongly recommend anybody to stay here if they want a unique experience. Thank you for a memorable experience.
- Yee Song (8/5): Highly recommend hotel to stay in penang - Overeall good experience staying in this hotel. Sam is very friendly and sharing with us a lot of ideas during opening this hotel. And also help us to get clinic info as my wife is sick that day.
Things to improve, if all staffs can greet or smile to us when seeing guest pass by it will be great.
Next, the plate is not clean for breakfast.
- Mansour (8/5): great staff, great hotel - awesome hotel
- G (8/5): Excellent Location. Private yet cosy vibe. - Location of the hotel is excellent. It's close to the malls, food streets and places of interest so it's very walkable to most areas that we want to go. I like that the hotel is private and away from the hustle and bustle of the main busy streets in Georgetown but it also has a modern and cosy vibe that's very inviting. Staff are generally friendly though we don't really interact a lot. Breakfast spread is limited but food is tasty. The nasi lemak is a must-have! Overall, it has been a very pleasant stay and I will not hesitate to recommend this place to others who are travelling to Penang.
- ethans (2/5): Tiny airless rooms - We booked a family room for 3 people and were givin a tiny double room with a double bed. When we complained they took out the bedside tables and put a mattress on the floor for him. We could then barely open the door to get in and out. Really poor breakfast in the morning so cut short our stay and moved to a better hotel.
- Courtney (8/5): nice spot, but damp - This is a trendy, cozy spot with nice decor. the bed was really comfortable and the room had a nice set up. Unfortunately our room was quite damp, which was kind of uncomfortable, and I think this may be a problem across many heritage houses in Georgetown. The staff were nice and you could tell they tried hard to make it a good stay. I included a note in my reservation about it being our anniversary and they were kind enough to surprise us with a note and balloons in the room upon our arrival. Really sweet.
- Paul Amintan (10/5): - Great
- Prosun (8/5): A Small Hotel in The Heart of Georgetown - It's a small hotel which is a completely renovated facility refurbished in 2014. The hotel was originally constructed as a shop house for warehousing purpose by South Chinese artisans around 1840 - 1900. The small entrance will make it difficult to belive that it is a hotel but, its fine inside. The rooms are though comfortable are a bit too small and does have any natural light coming in due non-functional windows at the ground floor which makes the rooms a bit stuffy. Also, the hotel do not have lunch and dinner facility or basically functional kitchen which makes dining a permanent problem.
- Patricia (10/5): Recommended hotel near Penang Street Arts - Small but a comfy hotel (don't judge a hotel by its cover - read: look like a small coffee shop). Walking distance to Penang Street Arts and the Jettys. Very nice interior (especially the bathroom, I love the tiles), yummy breakfast wonton and nasi lemak. For a consideration, I think the wall is quite thin, we can hear noises from outside and people from outside also can hear us talking from inside the room (I stayed at a duplex room). But since I am the type of person who sleeps easily, I am ok with that :). Overall, I will recommend this hotel and surely will come back one day.
- Adrian (6/5): Ok but let down by details - The hotel is in a pair of back to back renovated shop houses. It's walking distance to some.tourist locations, but the street itself has little else for tourists and is extremely quiet at night, about 15-30 minutes walk from tourist areas. The stairs are claimed to be "original" (they are not, they are clearly new, but fitted in locations that contained stairs) and are perilously steep with very shallow steps. There is no lift so you must carry luggage up and down - quite dangerous. The front desk was often un staffed resulting in waiting to collect or dop the key and no answer to a call to the front desk. Staff were young but pleasant and friendly. Room was very pleasant design, but bathroom tiling and shower weren't that clean and there were hairs on the bathroom floor and thick dust on some shelves under the hand basin. An ok stay and ok value but not as good as the hotel thinks it is.
- kong leong (8/5): Good Stay! - The room wall too thin that can hear people walking around. Overall good stay but no Wifi at room.
- Premila (8/5): Good hotel - was comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good. Room was very well maintained. - Overall very good. Rooms interior were well designed and decorated to give a appealing look. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Staff was very helpful.
- Rafael (10/5): All good, great small hotel - Good breakfast, although the same every day. Great coffee shop on site (try the gula melaca), and cozy rooms. Thin walls though
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place! Please fix the mold though - This is a great place! We know because we tried two other hotels at the same price point and were sorely disappointed each time. Reunion was almost a breath of fresh air- there is an obvious mold problem which is why they only get a 3 for condition. Other than that, which really was not that bad, this place was beautiful and comfortable and modern. I would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check-in: Strictly after 3pm. However if you arrive early, they allow for luggage deposit. Check-in staff are very friendly, they even show you to room.
Room: Traditional key are still used in this hotel. its slightly bulky if you ask me, having stayed in chain hotels with keycards. We booked a deluxe king room. Room has almost all amenities, including a table fan, which we find it to be a nice touch. The highlight of the room is the wash basin in the toilet. The only letdown was they do not provide room slippers. If you are an international traveler, you will also be disappointed with their variety of TV channels as the only channel that is available for us is AXN.
Breakfast: Breakfast is included in our rate. Its a simple affair. Mix of local and western delights. Although mostly are fried food. Interestingly, if you are a fan of half-boiled egg, you have to be hands-on. Good thing is they have an instruction sheet for guests.
- Michael (8/5): Ok for a night or two to explore old penang - Think of a fancy hostel room with en-suite and your expectations wont be too far off the mark. Staff are great but the room we had was so tiny. Room 101. Effectively no window too as the only window opened up onto the main corridor and breakfast area which was noisy. Good for 1 or 2 nights but very cramped. We were travelling as friends and there is no room between beds and only about 50cm on bottom and 20cm on side of one bed to the wall. Comfy beds. Weird blind set-up in bathroom that should be frosted glass.
- schumi (8/5): Close to restaurant - Easy to go to famous restaurant and mural paintings building
- ah'Qii (10/5): Recommended! Must stay! - Friendly staff
Recommend coffee
Limited car park
The room key and electric key is separate so we can charge power bank when we go out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Everything is good except room sound proof is not ok. Cannot take a nap in afternoon, will be very noisy. If sleep at nite will be no problem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean hotel - The room is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.
- zaly (10/5): Quaint
- Quaint, cozy, adorable hotel, friendly staff. Simple breakfast with delicious coffee.
