• Susan (10/5): Lovely, private & secure 2 bedroom unit. Highly recommended!! - Such a cosy little unit with the heart of Montague. Only sad that we were only staying for one night on our way to Cape Town. Did not get to fully enjoy the attractions of the town and enjoy the accommodation longer n/a

Comfortable sitting area.

• Esmé (9/5): Marvelous Montagu Stay - Friendly and generous hostess. Clean, tidy, spacious, comfortable cottage with all the necessary amenities. We felt safe and welcome. There was nothing that we did not like. We recommend this Montagu gem 100%.
• Cristina (5/5): Unaware of our Arrival - The location was central. Spacious open plan living area. The gardener brought us wood for the braai on our arrival. The friendly neighbours in the next-door cottage who unfortunately only stayed 1 night. Owner/s were on holiday, and nobody was aware of our arrival; which included the housekeeper who confronted me the following morning. She took me into the office and showed me on the PC that there was no booking, even though I had email and payment confirmation. She said not to worry she would find out what happened. On our arrival, we waited for the grandson to arrive, who pretended, but we knew he had no clue who we were. He proceeded to tell us where to park, only to discover later that evening that he had parked his car in our undercover parking?! We parked in the other "designated area" under the tree. On Saturday morning, there was bird seed scattered behind our vehicle and bird sh.. all over the vehicle. I then proceeded to wash as much off as I could with water and a hosepipe. There was only bodum coffee as a coffee option due to the little jar of instant coffee being rock-hard. Surfaces in the house were dusty, and it would also be nice if they cleaned the green off the shower head. The bar fridge little freezer compartment could not be used as it was completely iced up. Cheeky note asking guests not to spend more than R50 (50 units) of electricity p/day. Anyone living in SA knows you don't get 50 units of electricity when purchasing R50 worth. "Luxury room/cottage" is definitely an inaccurate description of this accommodation.

• Jen (6/5): Good value and very central - It was central and easy to stroll around and explore the town and a short drive to the Avalon springs for a family day out. The rooms were well equipped with heaters, extra blankets and happy huggers, which were a lovely detail. It was a bit grubby with old towels and the hot water was very temperamental. The pool area (while we didn't really use it visiting in winter) it was quite unkept.

• Nadine (8/5): Very good - Beautiful decorated. Braai facilities were nice and it is still very private. Everything else was beautiful and peaceful. We went in the winter and there were a short of blankets. The honeymoon suite is stunning but not suitable for elderly couples as the bed is low.

• Liesle (9/5): worth the money paid for - Very welcoming and friendly host, Rooms were clean, every basic thing you could need was available. The room has a fan, but no aircon nothing to mention

• Loretta (7/5): Overall our stay was good. wrt the room. - A lovely little place. I absolutely loved the décor of the front room and the bedroom. It also had everything we needed for self catering. The place was very neat and clean. The garden and pool was lovely. The parking was inside the property, and the property was safe and secure. The people in the room next door were a bit too loud which put somewhat of a damper on our stay there, which especially made our evenings unpleasant.

Was really not happy with Booking.com when contacted by the establishment this morning to be informed that we still need to do a payment. My payment was done on 2 January already, just now I received another mail from Booking.com that my credit card will be debited again with the amount I already paid. Not happy at all for this poor service
