  Located on the lower level of the main house, this room features tiled floors and hand made furniture. The room comes with pillow top orthopedic mattress which can be divided into 2 single beds. French doors open from the sleeping area onto the private patio. Lots of wildlife! - Stunning location in the jungle with a gorgeous room and tree-house style observation deck. Host was helpful in arranging taxi pickup from Bocas town. Restaurant and service was mostly great. We were the last guests of the season (our first time experiencing this) along with one other couple already there who then left so it was just us for the last couple of days. Unfortunately seemed that there was a certain eagerness to close up.

From the ease of the check-in process, to the special request item (i.e., champagne) to start our anniversary off, and not to mention the wonderful staff, meals, room, and breathtaking views of the beach and sounds of the jungle! • Maria (10/5): Lovely and paradisiacal. A place to return to. - The Hummingbird is a gem. With beautiful and comfortable rooms, our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The property has been carefully planned and is well maintained, with lush tropical gardens and access to the jungle, where frequent sightings of monkeys, sloths and colorful birds are quite amazing. The pool is nicely surrounded by tropical trees and flower plants with hummingbirds visible from time to time. Key to The Hummingbird are the very attentive hosts, Betsy and Gary, and their fantastic staff. The restaurant is a big plus, with delicious food and a great bar. The beach is a few steps in front of the property with soothing sounds from sea waves.

• David (10/5): Great hotel for a relaxing break to enjoy nature - highly recommend. - Our stay at the Hummingbird was perfect, Gary and Betsy were great hosts. The room was big, clean, comfortable and set in the gardens with nature all around, which we could enjoy from our decking area. The Hummingbird is situated out of town in a beautiful and quiet location with direct access to the beach and able to hear the relaxing sound of waves breaking from our room. • Guest (4/5): So dissapointing : we booked for 4 nights , stayed 3 nights as we couldn't find flights earlier - some wild nature, saw few birds and one agouti, large room, terrasse, had one dinner ok; wild large beach nearby for walking, unfortunately no swimming because of high strong waves, staff ok except Olivia who hates guests Property in the middle of nowhere, almost all neighborhood for sale or under construction, basic room, no coffee maker, no hair drier and other restrictions in the name of eco-friendly, but plastic bottle for water or metal bottle for sale, seamed to me everything just cheap, little natural light in the room, no activities, abandoned pavilion with ancient broken books and games, small garden cannot walk beyond; the most unpleasant was Olivia - the one in charge there, owner? - who made us feel unwanted ( even we didn't complain at all); still, she didn't forget to calculate the tip
• Oleksandr (10/5): Very friendly atmosphere from the hotel owners, surrounded by beautiful nature - This is a family-run eco-hotel located on a beautiful and romantic beach. Before the trip, I looked at many hotels and reviews and was prepared for the fact that the road to the hotel (about 15 minutes) was quite challenging, and swimming on the beach was not recommended. But we really wanted a secluded island experience surrounded by nature. And our expectations were more than met! Listening to the sound of the surf and birdsong, watching hummingbirds having breakfast, and sometimes seeing a sloth in the evening – it was magnificent! Transportation was easy; the hosts sent a trusted taxi driver directly to the airport, who then drove us around the island. Finally, for a change, we rented a small jeep for a trip to the gorgeous beaches on the other side of the island. The dinners at the hotel were excellent! And most importantly, the hosts were incredibly welcoming! It felt like visiting close relatives who really missed you! Thank you so much for the wonderful atmosphere at your hotel!

• Antonia (10/5): Perfekte Unterkunft am Bluff Beach - Sehr freundliches, zuvorkommendes Personal und sehr schöne Unterkunft in der Natur in direkter Strandnähe. Menschenleerer Bluff Beach ist traumhaft schön und lädt zur Entspannung ein. In der Unterkunft sind die Wellen und Tiergeräusche zu hören. Der Weg zur Unterkunft von Bocas Downtown führt den längsten Weg über eine unbefestigte Straße, insbesondere bei Regen ist die Anreise schwierig. Wenn man Trips zu anderen Inseln plant, dauert es und man muss Taxi fahren oder sich einen Scooter etc. mieten.

• Xac (10/5): A casual but luxurious stay between the beach and rainforest. - The accommodation is on the track from town to the gardens of the Bocas island, set between the beach and the rain forest. This means lots of bird sounds in the morning, hummingbirds and the occasional howler monkey call and Sloths nearby. Despite this isolation the bedrooms/bathrooms are luxurious, the pool a good size and the food at the casual restaurant excellent. Nothing comes to mind.

Además tienen claro que quieren ofrecer calidad , son solo 6 alojamientos . Si vuelvo a Bocas del Toro pelearé por alojarme aquí. Felicito a sus propietarios. Nada, me gustó absolutamente todo.

• Stephen (9/5): Lovely in every way! - Super close to the beach. Beautiful room was set in a beautiful garden with hummingbirds and other birds flying around. Lovely swimming pool. Super breakfast and lovely staff.

Er is een prachtige tuin waar we meerdere luiaards en prachtige vogels hebben gezien. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij gingen erg vroeg weg en konden niet ontbijten. De eigenaresse zorgde voor koffie en we kregen fruit. Voor onderweg kregen we broodjes mee en een granolabar.. wat een top service!! Dankjewel Betsy. Een dikke aanrader.

• VIRGINIE (9/5): Magnifique - Hôtel incroyable. Tout est beau, les chambres, le jardin avec ses animaux sauvages (paresseux, grenouilles, singes hurleurs,colibris, oiseux…). Le restaurant est très bon et le personnels très gentil. L’emplacement qui finalement n’est pas le plus pratique : la plage en face est très dangereuse, même pour un surfeur, on ne peut pas profiter de la plage..Il faut un moyen de locomotion (scooter ou vélo électrique pour se déplacer car c’est loin de tout). Mais c’est un détail qui peut facilement se résoudre.

• Iulian Goaga (10/5): Really beautiful accommodation - Right on the biggest beach of Bocas del torro! The garden was amazing, like paradise! Our room (Bamboo) was super clean (both the room and bathroom), clean towels,bedsheets. Breakfast was very good, with fresh fruits every morning. They have a nice pool as well. Wild fauna watched from your own room terrace was amazing! Bumpy road from the airport to the accommodation....and maybe they should do an upgrade to a professional coffee machine.

Betsy was a fabulous host and all the staff, Olivia, Arnaud and everyone else were also super attentive and accommodating. We didn’t have hot water for the last two days but it wasn’t a problem.

• Monica (9/5): Ein gelungener Abschluss für unseren 12-tägigen Weihnachtsurlaub. - Hummingbird ist ein sehr schöner Ort um zu entspannen und den wunderschönenen Playa Bluff zu geniessen. Die ewig langen Spaziergänge direkt ausgehend vom Hotel sind einfach unglaublich. Der Pool ist schön und gross genug, sodass man sogar richtig schwimmen kann. Das Restaurant ist lecker. Wir mussten leider schon um 7 Uhr früh abreisen. Es war ein bisschen schade, dass wir kein Frühstück/lunchpacket angeboten bekommen haben, sondern nur ein paar Bananen hingelegt wurden.

• Mitul (8/5): - Highly recommended – great location on the beach; a few mins drive from town but a real ‘off-the-grid’ vibe from those looking for peace & quiet. Room was good; lack of AC was not an issue for sleeping as it was cool at night (might be more of a concern if you were planning to spend time in the room during the day, but why would you in such a beautiful location?). Nice pool and pretty quiet the whole time we were there as there are only a few rooms/guests. Food for lunch & dinner was very good; if we had one niggle it would be the breakfast which was pretty basic and not geared up for vegetarians (one of us is vegetarian and was initially just offered toast for breakfast one morning). Olivia the manager was fantastically helpful when we had issues with a cancelled flight and were being given the run-around by the airline.

• Peter (10/5): A wonderful place with fantastic staff - We loved the location on Bluff Beach with a wild feel from the huge waves and jungle down to the beach. The room was gorgeous and opened completely to the front allowing an incredible view in the morning. The sounds of the waves crashing on the beach was a great way to get off to sleep. The bed was really comfortable and the room of a good size set back in the garden. Breakfasts were very tasty and varied and the evening meals we had there were excellent although there are other very good choices near by. Probably the best feature of the hotel was the staff ; so friendly and helpful with great service - all managed efficiently by Olivia. A wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful stay near to nature. Nothing

Concerning the location you have to know that Bluff Beach is not a swimming beach and the road to hummingbird is a very bumpy dirt road
• Leon (10/5): Exceptional - Super nice location with very friendly staff. Wonderful animal noises and the sound of the sea. Nice to fall asleep, nice to wake up. Unfortunately we were only here for two nights, but would stay longer next time. Everything was very clean and the food was delicious.
• Andrew (10/5): Great boutique lodge in coastal jungle - Staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Room was large with a good bed. The hotel was great. We definitely had some surprises re the distance to town, (30 min cab ride one way) and beach that was not amenable to sit on or swim.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - Stayed in the one of the semi-detached bungalows. Very comfortable with an amazing view. Pool was lovely. Loads of Hummingbirds around so it warrants the name! The food in the restaurant was ok but not very memorable but there are 2 alternative options within walking distance - we only tried one which was much better. There's just one option for breakfast which did change every day. As there are no windows you and your neighbours can hear everything. Unfortunately we had a very loud couple next to us who kept on talking loudly every day and also till very late in the night. In the end we had to tell them to be quiet which worked only up to a certain level.

Great food for breakfast and dinner, a beautiful property to see all kinds of flora and animals, Including monkeys. They also were able to arrange transportation for us when our flight changed last minute. Couldnt recommend this place enough. Beautiful and comfortable.
• Ann-marie (10/5): Beautiful small hotel surrounded by tropical plants and wildlife - We loved our stay here. A very small and unique hotel set amongst lush tropical plants, flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies. We were also invited to "see a sloth before breakfast" - a real highlight of our trip! Our rooms were beautifully maintained with a wonderful view and very peaceful. The food was excellent - seared tuna and delicious salads. The owners were very helpful and had done a fabulous job in creating such a special place.

We were lucky to see two female leatherback sea turtles on our guided beach walk. The hosts are gracious and attentive. We would love to return some day. No complaints

We were made to feel very welcome from the initial contact on arrival in Bocas Del Toro. The gardens and room provided ample opportunity to slow down and enjoy all that nature offers in Panama. We had a much needed recharge during our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Absolutely nothing.

• Cynthia (10/5): Beautiful resort with lovely hosts on Bluff Beah - really cannot top this stay! - This was a super clean and beautiful property. The rooms are refreshed daily. They are minimalist but have everything you could need: beach towels, beach bag, cold pack, drinking water, toiletries, etc. the private porch has a swing chair and small table for eating. There was a beautiful pool, books, games, binoculars and more. The hosts were fantastic. Friendly but bit intrusive. They organized several taxis and outings for us. The location is perfect. Out of Bocas town and close to many jungle trails. The onsite restaurant was also delicious! We felt no need to go anywhere else during our 5 day stay. Nothing!

• Ellie (10/5): Don’t miss out on this incredible experience! - The Hummingbird is a stunning, peaceful and charming boutique hotel. The location right on the beach is so so special. The rooms are luxurious but designed to be in-keeping with their surroundings with huge ceilings, big beds and gorgeous terraces (we had a sea view too!). The attention to detail in the rooms is exceptional with beach bags, water bottles for the beach, and fresh filtered water. Food at the hotel was amazing, we ate there both nights and loved everything - the coconut bread was unreal, ceviche yummy and the wine list was extensive, being able to drink Minuty on an island in Panama was very lavish :) Oh and happy hour was all too tempting and included some snack dishes too. The owners couldn’t do more for you and we’re always on hand to help with travel plans, activities (+ going out of their way to get some car keys back to us that were left behind) I will be talking about this hotel in years to come, I would thoroughly recommend! Absolutely nothing! Maybe not staying long enough!
• Handley (9/5): Do not hesitate to stay here!!! Magical paradise. - Absolutely gorgeous in every way! Hard to put into words! The entire inn is beautiful. Our room was excellent and so comfortable. Bed was sooo cozy! 1 minute walk to pool, bar, and restaurant yet room and deck was so private due to the lush landscape. Breakfasts were great! Something yummy and different every day, but always awesome fruit and coffee. The road out is cumbersome, but staying put for one entire day will make you forget that!!!
• Alejandro (10/5): What a wonderful stay full of nature, attention to details, friendlyness and Bluff beach right there - We went to The Hummingbird lodge as part of our second part of the trip to Bocas del Toro. We could not be happier to have chosen to stay at the lodge. Was an amazing place, service and location. Betsy and Gary are always attentive to the details and the wonderful staff always preparing delicious meals. The Bluff beach is right in front of the property so the sunrise and sunset walks are to die for. The rooms are impeccable, large and overlooking nature. We celebrated my dad's 85 birthday and it was a unforgettable time. The nature in an around the property is lush, full of life and invigorating. The sound of the waves makes it even more special. You sleep like a baby to that sound and the nice ceiling fans in each room. The lodge is off-the-grid so water is collected from the rain and energy is harvested with solar panels. We hope the area remains a nature-first concept and no big development is allowed around it. Bocas town is far enough for you to feel immersed in nature. The friendliness of the owners and staff are top notch. What an incredible stay! :) Yes, there are hummingbirds all over the property all day long. Specially when you seat for breakfast and they are enjoying the nectar from the nearby flowers - So nice :) Nothinig at all :)

The rooms are jungle treehouses with howling monkeys, birds, and the sea crashing in. • Andor (10/5): The most amazing place to experience the real Paradise - The Hummingbird is the real Paradise on Earth. When we travel we like to explore and experience as many things as possible, but it is also very important for us to have an accomodation with comfort and… I admit: luxury. I was curious if a bed and breakfast place can satisfy our needs, but it did, and it did much more. The Hummingbird was a much pleasant experience than the many 5star luxury resorts we stayed so far. Its beautiful garden is the garden of Eden with hummingbirds, sloths and a colorful carpet of thousand flowers. Our suite was super clean and extra comfortable with a breathtaking view of the garden and the sea (if we opened the balcony doors in the morning the sun did rise right in our bed). The place also has the best kitchen I experienced in a hotel so far with a fantastic breakfast and various choices for dinner made right there freshly. The menu changes daily. We also had a top10 massage experience in this beautiful environment. This amazing place has its soul and spirit from the wonderful hosts, Betsy and Gary, who are super-friendly and always smiling, and they helped us organizing any kind of activity we just wished for. Their whole team is just exceptional. So… this is a place everyone should visit! At least once. We for sure will come back again because we already miss The Hummingbird and the many wonders of Bocas del Toro. ❤️

The rooms were large and very clean, the food was excellent, Gary and Betsy were super helpful and willing to book us tours and taxis. The beach was one of the best and we ended up being there during a time when it was completely swimmable. The wildlife was great, lots of monkey and bird sightings. Highly recommend, fantastic!

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The restaurant and bar were first class! The access road is terrible, but that helps with the privacy, so no biggee. Everything else was fantastic.
