Guest Reviews
- Madiha (9/5): Beautiful and well maintained architecture. Truly Transports you back in time. Kind and welcoming staff. - Responsive and kind staff, and a beautiful property. It’s fairly close to all the major attractions, which made getting around very convenient. We also had the chance to speak with the owner, who was incredibly kind and gave us helpful advice about different locations to visit. The breakfast spread was amazing as well. The room lighting felt a little dim, especially in the evening, which made getting ready / reading somewhat difficult. The ambience was nice but I wish they were slightly brighter. Aside from that, everything was great.
- Ricardo (9/5): Un lugar recomendable. Silencioso y bello lugar.Las camas muy cómodas y grandes.El desayuno abundante y muy bueno todo.En fin un Palacio a tu disposición. Fácil aparcamiento y vigilado.
- Emily (10/5): - Beautiful space, friendly staff, nice breakfast. We appreciated the warm welcome with tea and cookies. Lovely view from the rooftop terrace. Room was on the small side (but the bathrooms are very large).
- LUCA (7/5): - Cena ottima personale disponibile Camera minuscola sporca e poco curata. Letto con macchie asciugamani macchiati, capelli in giro, motlo numerosa. Posizione scomoda zona non bencfrequentata della medina
- Thierry (10/5): -
- Alessi0 (9/5): -
Ber hoofdgebouw is heel mooi.
Zie hierboven. Het meeste was echt prima!!
- Lucrezia (10/5): - Personale cordiale e attento. Atmosfera magica. Soggiorno perfetto davvero.
- Francesca (8/5): -
- Lestari Nuriza (9/5): Beautiful accommodation, amazing food & lovely staff! - This dar was exceptionally beautiful and rich in heritage. We stayed for two nights and found it very comfortable throughout. The staff arranged our pickup from Fez airport, which was seamless and well-coordinated. We also dined at the dar, enjoying soup, chicken tagine, and a selection of sweet treats—easily the best Moroccan meal we had during our week in Morocco. The location was ideal, situated in a quieter part of the medina, and the staff were consistently friendly, accommodating, and highly professional. Nothing!
- I4341JJmanuelf (10/5): Incredible time at this Riad with excellent service! - We had an extraordinary time. The Riad is marvelous, very well located, but most important the staff is superb. Thank you Ahmed, Aziz and everyone else for your hospitality!
- Juri Alexander (10/5): -
- Abby (10/5): - The staff were very helpful with our arrangements and the riad is beautiful. The door to our room wouldn't close properly and so we couldn't lock it or keep it completely shut.
- Alison (8/5): Lovely space, requires some updating - The room was very large and the bed super comfortable. The lovely gentleman had breakfast ready for us early so we could catch our train, he then walked with us to secure a taxi to the train station. The rooms are very outdated and need some renovating, they do not look as smart as the pictures.
- Andrew (10/5): - What a gem., we felt like royalty!
- Eray (7/5): - Beautiful Riad and great terrace! The pillows were very hard and some of the bedding was coming undone, revealing the duvet under the sheet.
Breakfast was not good for the price you are paying. Lacked fresh ingredients.
¡Gracias!

- Francisco (10/5): Everything was very good. -
- Francisco (9/5): Recommended to anyone visiting Fez -
- Francisco (9/5): I would recommend it to anyone visiting Fez - Everything was very good.
- Monica Gabrielle (10/5): Just Book This! - I had a lovely stay at Dar Anebar. The place is beautifully decorated with traditional touches, and the staff were incredibly welcoming, always smiling and making sure I was comfortable throughout my stay.
The room was clean, well equipped with a hairdryer, towels, and toiletries, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is convenient too: about a 10–15 minute walk to the souks and roughly 20–25 minutes to the Blue Gate.
The complimentary breakfast was good, and they also offer dinner for an additional cost, which was a nice option to have. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and honestly wish I had stayed longer. Nothing!
- Clavijo Salgado (10/5): -
- Blagovesta (8/5): Really nice riad, lovely staff! - The staff were really nice, Aziz helped us with our luggage, they welcomed us nicely, like family.
Parking close by (5-min walk), and really beautiful terrace, overlooking the city.
Lovely dinner (for additional fee), consisting of traditional Moroccan soup and pastilla. I would visit again! Sometimes there was foul smell from the drain. Hot water lasts for 10 minutes, but those are minor inconveniences.
- Tina (9/5): -
- Carl (10/5): A lovely pleasant stay in a traditional riad with friendly staff and very helpful - Very traditional
- Kerry (9/5): - Staff were very attentive and accomodating. There was a stunning view from the terrace. One out of the two shower heads was broken, but we were still able to have a warm shower with good pressure.
- rbmorris (10/5): Beautiful Historic Stay in Fes - I stayed for two nights at Dar Anebar during a recent tour of Morocco and It was a highlight of the trip. It's located in the Fes medina, only a brief walk from the perimeter (which is great as the medina is very maze-like!). The style of the hotel is very much a traditional dar or riad, though it's larger than most. The central courtyard is stunning; the traditional dining areas are located in adjacent alcoves. Rooms are on the upper floors and generously sized; I believe ours was the largest being a top floor suite with a sitting area the size of some hotel rooms and a huge bathroom as well. Overall the hotel was quite clean and very quiet due to the thick walls. Decoration was very traditional Moroccan so Dar Anebar has amazing character. The included breakfast was very good, featuring traditional Moroccan fare. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended for a stay in the medina area of Fes!
- Pilar (10/5): -
- Clara (10/5): Beautiful hotel and amazing staff - The patio in the hotel is stunning. My family took two rooms, one triple and a big double - both were super spacious and nice. Lovely beds, good shower, beautiful decor. Breakfast was lovely, and they also had dinner which was great. Mostly, the staff was what we loved the most. Everyone in the hotel is extremely kind and thoughtful. They were always ready to help, polite and friendly. We appreciated their hospitality immensely! I think it was all nice honestly
Rien
- rachelgB3589GT (10/5): We loved it! - Great hidden location in the maze of the Fes. Beautiful hotel with traditional Moroccan vibes. Spacious, clean rooms that has very comfortable beds and an excellent staff who goes above and beyond for guests.
- Faris (7/5): -
- el carpintero (10/5): -
- Mariana (10/5): Lovely - The staffs was extremely friendly!
- Iluminada (10/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): Beautiful traditional Moroccan palace - The staff treated us like family. We enjoyed a great music show on our first night. Anything we wanted, the staff got for us. The hotel is exquisitely decorated.
- haruhiy2025 (10/5): Great experience - I had a very good stay here, with great service and the staff was very accommodating. We were able to get support on calls and pick ups from taxi.
The room was pretty and clean too, and there was a small rooftop garden where I could see the view of the city with sunset.
- Z2924KMmariaf (10/5): Very good - I had a fantastic experience. Very interesting place, clean , and with a very nice patio. Generous breakfast. The communication with the Blue Gate was fast , 5 min aprox. and 5 min walking. The decoration and the architecture worth a visit . I totally recommend this place.
- Pauline (9/5): Grand main building with great staff. - The staff were fabulous. Extremely helpful and friendly. Could not fault them. They made our stay. The walk back at night was through quiet laneways. There is also a lot of construction in the area. So maybe there will be more activity once the new hotels are finished.
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dong (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- whelronk (10/5): Quiet with ample room and excellent breakfast - We stayed for two weeks. Wonderful hospitality with exceptional hosts. We will recommend to friends. Very quiet, we slept 10 to 12 hours per night, hard to believe but greatest sleeps of our lives. Thanks to all at Dar Anebar. Fes takes time to get used to but after exploring getting around is not that complicated.
- Yousra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stilianos (10/5): Exceptional - Kind staff
Location
- Stephane (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and helpful staff, and really great room, and great food and service. I highly recommend!
- Radu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nini (10/5): Lovely, authentic experience and delicious food. - The staff was wonderful. The first thing they said to us was: you're here, you're family. Because the Medina is so complicated, they met us at a gate (which I think all riads do) and walked us back to the riad. We had dinner both nights and it was the best food we had in Morocco (and we'd been there over a week). The riad was lovely, the roof terrace was peaceful, the room was spacious. It was like a movie. This is not just a Dar Anebar issue: all the beds we stayed in our entire time in Morocco were incredibly hard. Absolutely no cushion at all. I can't imagine what they're made of. We definitely wish we'd had more hot water (that it lasted in a way that 2 people could bathe in a row), but that was a minor complaint.
- Elettra (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone was super helpful, kind and available to help us with all our needs! The place is beautiful and charming. Good location as well, we could go everywhere by foot and even managed just with the help of google maps :)
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elettra (9/5): Superb - Staff was ultra helpful and friendly, they helped us with everything always with a smile.
The Riad is beautiful and in a good position. Loved everything about it.
- MrFelipe (10/5): Amazing hospitality - Amazing hospitality! My wife and I arrived after a long drive from Rabat and my wife was feeling the effects of the heat. The hotel staff were lovely and upgraded us to a bigger room overlooking the courtyard. The hotel is lovely, full of character and the staff are super friendly. I would definitely stay here again
- louise649 (10/5): Wonderful, grand riad - We had such great time at this wonderful riad. Someone came to meet us at the car, and it was a short walk from there to the location. The help with our bags was much appreciated! From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with how friendly the staff were. We had stayed in several other riads in Morocco before this, and whilst they were friendly, the staff here went above and beyond. We felt so welcomed. The room they put us in was fantastic. Everything was very clean and comfortable. This place is a traditional riad, the whole place has an elegance to it because of that. We went up to the rooftop and saw some amazing views, and enjoyed sitting in the courtyard. We had such a good stay here, and the area is very calm and safe feeling, which was important to us as two female friends travelling together. The breakfast was also great, offering a wider range of food than other riads we had stayed in. We’d really recommend staying here. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of the central tourist area, but it’s very easy and cheap to jump in a taxi to take you there when you want to explore. After the madness of some of the other cities we had visited, we really enjoyed the warm welcome and peacefulness of this riad. Please do stay there, you’ll have a wonderful time!
- Natalie (10/5): Nice staff. Good food. Lo mismo - It was a really pretty place.
- Rachel (10/5): Would recommend and would come again - Beautiful property and amazing comfortable bedroom with the biggest bed and wonderful cotton sheets . Lots of nice soap, shampoo , shower gel etc .
Staff helpful and went out of their way to help make our stay perfect
We have been in Morocco for a while and this was our favourite property .
Good coffee and nice breakfast . A 10/10 stay . Property a little far from the main areas , which isn’t a problem but the streets dark at night . Building work nearby but no noise when we were at the property . I wouldn’t suggest area for lone travellers but as a couple we felt fine. The disadvantage were overcome by the beauty of the property . We would recommend staying here.
- Farah (8/5): A beautiful heritage space. It feels like home. Staff and owner himself so vested in his guest - excellent layout of the dining area. you could ask for any variety of eggs and they were happy to make that for you. Delicious dinner & again the service was amazing! Toilet fittings need a little fixing.
- A. (9/5): All you ever can wish in hospitality - Dar Anebar is a great place to stay. An extremely well located starting point for discovering the large medina of Fès. The hotel consists of several cosy riads and a central courtyard for chilling and dining. The staff is extremely dedicated and helpful, beyond all limits.
- royam305 (10/5): Best place to stay and to have dinner in Fez - The owner, Ahmad is a welcoming genuine man who has done an excellent job renovating his grandparents home. The rooms are big. There is a small reading room for your pleasure. The rooftop area is amazing and has space for you to rest. I really didn't want to leave this home once I arrived. Although I had never been to Fez and there is so much to see, this place has so much to offer. It is truly a mini-resort with everything you need in one place. Ask him to tell you about the story behind this Riad. The food is great and the service is excellent. We were treated like a king and queen. If you ever plan to visit Fez, this is the place to stay
- Sacha (10/5): Would stay again! 100% recommended. - The staff was exceptional. Common areas were absolutely beautiful. Breakfasts were wonderful. 100% recommended. They sent me home with a wonderful bundle of mint leaves. It's also Moroccan owned which is great! If I really had to reach, maybe another hook for towels?
- Shervin (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were very friendly. Managers was very helpful to help us solve issues with room
- Huw (9/5): Superb -
- Roam22136072327 (10/5): Absolutely AMAZING!! - Dar Anebar is truly my favorite place in Morocco after traveling extensively throughout the country. Ahmed, the host, is the most helpful local I’ve ever encountered. He goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a great experience, from arranging taxis at local prices to providing exceptional hospitality.
The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I was truly impressed by their dedication.
We stayed in a deluxe suite that was spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished in stylish Moroccan decor. At Dar Anebar, you genuinely feel like royalty in a Moroccan castle—it’s simply spectacular! The highlight is the stunning terrace with a view of the city.
I was genuinely sad to leave this wonderful place; I could have stayed forever! Thank you, Ahmed, and the entire team for an unforgettable experience!
- Edith (10/5): Absolutely spectacular!!! - Absolutely everything!! I’m in love with this place! Will recommend it to all of my friends traveling to Fes. n/a
- William (9/5): Great Hotel , just away from the city center - food and staff were Amazing and very friendly location was away from the city center and more developed Fez..
- Guerrero (10/5): Una estancia maravillosa - It is amazing. The Riad is a typical Moroccan family house that has been open to visitors. The best thing in Dar Anebar are the host, Ahmed, and all the people working hard to make your stay memorable. Everything is easy, communication, tips for the city, and their incredible hospitality. The location is great, on the entrance of the Medina, easy to reach any spot at a walking distance. The rooms are beautiful, super clean and comfortable, with very good working AC. Many details in the rooms for the guests to be as comfortable as possible.
- Manuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Great stay, highly recommend - Beautiful Nothing
- Maykel (10/5): Best experience to discover Fez - Dar Anebar is like a jewel in Fes thanks to its staff that works there since ever. They will make you feel at home, their home. Rooms are beautiful and confy. From rooftop amazing view of La Medina. Is a very quite neighborhood.
- Khogali (9/5): Lovely - Great staff, and beautiful property. Lovely roof terrace and dinner option. Breakfast was also fantastic. Nothing! Everything was amazing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Spectacular building and staff could not have been more helpful.
- Rachel (10/5): Amazing room and setting. Tasty breakfast and walking distance to all of the sights. Staff couldn’t do enough - Beautiful riad and amazing staff. Went above and beyond. Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): I’ve stayed at other dars in Fes over the years, this was the best. Dar Anebar accommodated our large group wonderfully - Beautiful place, outstanding service.
- Janna (7/5): Good - The staff was very welcoming and breakfast delisous
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional - Warm welcome and good advice from the staff, including Aziz. A beautifully kept main house and annexe, plus a great view from the terrace. Well located to.visit the Medina and city walls. Delicious breakfast. N/A
- Juan (5/5): Passable -
- Niki (9/5): A remarkable old Riad, yet well maintained in the heart of Fes, within the Medina, easy car parking - A great original Riad in the heart of Fes, with easy parking closely. You feel like living in the old days, yet, everything was very well thought of to meet the needs of our today's life. The staff were all willing to help and service our needs, including providing info about the sights and navigating through the "labyrinth" of Fes. I would greatly recommend it to whoever wants to, not only visit the Medina of Fes, but also experience the "old" way of living in the Medina within a traditional but well maintained Riad of old times. Nothing to report here.
- Humam (6/5): It was pleasant but not what I expected - The breakfast was nice and the room was clean. I was welcomed with Tea and they have a good view on the city I had a really weird encounter with the staff when I went back to the hotel the last day of my stay, I was simply locked out. The door to the building was closed and my key didn't open it. When I asked the Staff to open it, they asked me to pay first the tax because I will check out after one day. They could've just ask about it when I checked in and avoid the whole weird situation.
Other than that the location of the hotel is not optimal, you really need to walk for long to reach the heart of the old city.
- Silvina (8/5): Beautiful palace close to the medina with very friendly staff. - The whole place is awesome, a true palace. Our room was beautifully decorated. They came to pick us up from the parking place which was truly appreciated. Very kind staff with special mention to Hag, a true gentleman. It's a riad, so only inner court view, it was very noisy until 10pm when lights at the lobby go off. The location is not great as all the surroundings are being refurbished and gets complicated to arrive at night.
