The only thing we had issues with was with the smoking. They don’t have smoke free zones nor designated smoke zones. It is pretty much permitted everywhere in the resort, so if you don’t smoke, have health issues, or have small children, you’ll just have to keep up with it as there are no regulations around it- people smoke next to you (and your children) at the beach, pool, night shows, etc. We just couldn’t escape it.

The buffet restaurants at the Flying Fish and the international buffet were exceptional. My wife and I were disappointed in their so-called upgrade French and Italian restaurants. We are lifelong NYers and travel a decent amount including a good deal of cruising and didn’t feel these were up to par. We discussed this with management and they were very open, understanding and seemingly very willing to make some changes, which will take some time. People who are sun and beach lovers will I think marvel at the place. As we still have other places we truly want to visit we may or may not get back here, but we are seniors in our seventies, so time is limited. But we loved it and hope to visit again! The beach was absolutely stunning, soft sand and such a relaxing atmosphere, which made the trip truly special. I also loved the nightly performances; they were fun, lively, and added so much entertainment to our stay. That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. The restaurant waiting times were consistently poor, and when meals did arrive, the service often felt rushed. The constant pressure to book spa services each day also became a little overwhelming. Additionally, I didn’t feel the Preferred Club offered much value, as it didn’t seem particularly worth it. Overall, I had a wonderful time, especially enjoying the beach and entertainment, but I think with a few service improvements the experience could be even better.

While there are a few things that could be improved, overall I had a good experience and would definitely recommend. Getting the VIP package is absolutely worth it.

There’s not much of a night life which is fine since I am more of an early bird. The food was good and our favorite was the French restaurant (Randy was wonderful). The morning buffet had plenty of breakfast options. The omelet station, bread and fresh fruit were out favorite. The room was gorgeous with a huge balcony and plenty of amenities. I would stay here again.

We were not disappointed -- the staff (including our concierge Merihan) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. They paid outstanding attention to us and especially to our 2 and 3 year old sons. Also, the dining options were very good... even their red (merlot) and white (chardonnay) house wines hit the spot. However, one shouldn't be fooled by the family friendly atmosphere as Dreams' night-life is also a fun experience. We enjoyed ourselves and hope to visit again.

Food is very good, but restaurants work without reservations, so wait times are high at dinner. We stayed as a family and had an amazing time at Dreams Dominicus. Staff goes above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable, and they succeed greatly at it: Nicky from entertainment, Richard in the fitness center and Tony out in the beach were always available and accomodating. Special shootout to our Expedia concierge, Merihan: she's been on top of us through the entire stay making sure we had everything we needed. It was an unexpected perk, but her great work made me realize I wouldn't go to Dominicana through any other agency, so kudos to her!

There’s also an amazing **beachfront restaurant** available exclusively to Preferred Club guests, which we had access to — and it was one of our favorite experiences. The **drinks at the bars were top-shelf**, and the **rooms were very spacious and comfortable**. Everything was so well thought out. Honestly, we didn’t want to go back home because we had such a wonderful time. We’ll definitely return!

- keyla (6/5): - I really wanted to love this hotel. We have a lot of issues starting with the room fridge that was not keeping things cool so we had to keep our drinks in a cooler with ice. Then no shampoo body wash or conditioner in the bathroom. We have to call customer service for them to refill (thats the same day we checked in) and not traditional breakfast. Buffet was very small not a lot of options. The one thing that really saved this hotel from a 2 star review was the staff. They were very friendly always willing to help and thats really important to me too. I dont consider this a 4 star hotel. More like a 3 star hotel.

They ask too many personal questions and will tell you their life's story without being asked anything. It could be funny but annoying. One employee actually sat at the end of my husbands beach chair as if we were old friends. Really extra.

There are times when you want a drink or a plate cleared but you are on vacation so should chill :) if you have small kids (under 3) - we do - there’s no French restaurant access because kids club does not take them. We’ve been to a few Dreams elsewhere and there tend to be more kid activities in and around the pool rather than just kids club. We wanted a family vacation together and were ok with that but advising for other families with young kids. Overall we leave tanned, relaxed (as you can be with 2 and 7 year old kids), and with great memories.

- Swapna (10/5): - This resort had a clean and a beautiful beach. This is the place to be if you want a clear and clean blue beach!!! The resort was clean and staff was friendly. It felt very safe. Very close to catalina island. We were able to hire snorkeling and scuba diving services right from the resort. The place had multiple food options and quite a few full bars scattered across the resort.

- Verified traveler (8/5): 3* quality, 5* prices - The overall hotel is nice, and the beach front is incredible. The rooms are comfortable but pretty average. However the food was really sub par and just felt like the first time cheapest ingredients were being used, and the staff constantly harass you trying to sell you things outside of the all-inclusive package. All-in-all I'd say this hotel is fine, but it's giving me 3* quality for 5* prices.

- Christopher (10/5): Wow - The grounds of this resort are stunning. Cleanliness, pools, beach, gym, buffet restaurant and overall service were incredible. The beach/ocean has to be the cleanest and best in Dominican. During the second half of the week the resort was at capacity (during QC and U.S. university/college spring break) and in no way felt congested. The family suites are on the opposite side of the road from the main resort. This at first was a surprise, but turned out to be a very pleasant one as it was so peaceful there at night and had a great view over the resort in the evening light hours. Overall travel to resort took about 45 mins but was worth the extra 20 mins compared to Punta Cana resorts. Main pool bar staff Marcelo and Claudio were very nice and also good with kids. Gustavo was assigned as our “butler”. Nothing is too much for him. We were amazed at his willingness to make our trip the best it could possibly be as well as his contagious positivity and his presence. This extra effort made a great week an amazing one.
