Guest Reviews
- Rodriguez Orozco (9/5): Hacienda Margot - Buena ubicacion y entorno.

- Francesco (8/5): Grazie Margot ♥️ - Alloggio in stile locale coloniale
Ampi spazi
Host amorevole e disponibile in tutto.
- Luiz Felipe (10/5): Muito boa !
- Anh (10/5): - This property is homey and located in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed being able to walk or drive into Centro Historico while staying in a quieter part of town. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and hospitable. We would recommend.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional - The owner and the staff are very kind and helpful. They do all they can to ensure you have a great stay.
We had a different Mexican dish at each breakfast, with fresh fruits and yogurt.
Lots of very helpful tips received from the owner and the staff.
Room with character.
Not walking distance from the center, but much quieter.
Private secured parking.
Everything we had a problem with, was fixed the next day Nothing.
- Peter (8/5): Recommend it but it is cheap for a reason - The staff is super friendly and helpful. The sweetest lady is running the hotel and she is just great. The breakfast is good. And if you are heading out early you can get breakfast to bring with you. Parking is included and it is behind a closed gate. Bed was comfortable. Room was huge.
And while I might come of as negative in what I didn't like section. We did enjoy our stay here. Well worth the price! It is cheap. And it feels cheap. Example. The hooks in the bathroom was one of those hooks you hang over the door but screwed to the wall. Shower barely worked. Super low pressure and most holes in the shower head did not work.
Room was huge. But empty. Furniture was just what they probably could get as cheap as possible. Nothing bad. Just set your expectations accordingly. It is a bit of a walk to the center. And not a really fun walk.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was amazing!
- Dominika (10/5): Wonderful hacienda, fantastic staff - Beautiful building and wonderful staff. We loved the clean swimming pool. The rooms downstairs are huge. The staff and the owner are the nicest people. The breakfast is delicious. We liked the location, within a 20-minute walk from the center. Just be aware that when it rains it is good to wear sandals/flip flops as the streets get flooded (the sidewalks are still ok, though). Overall, great experience. Maybe just a tiny thing, that there is quite a bit of dust on the furniture and the AC in the room on the right did not work properly (no cooling).
- Antonio (8/5): - Está muy amplia
- GUADALUPE ISABEL (10/5): - Quiet place, beautiful and comfy, and the treatment and guidance to us as a tourist from Mrs Margot and her staff make us easy to know where and when about the places we want to visit in Valladolid and Maya ruins near
- Mathis (10/5): Exceptional - You can't get better for that price.
- Michel (10/5): Exceptional - Large room with large windows, large comfortable bed, nice building, beautiful pool area, good and generous breakfast. Margot has a personal interest in our well-being, and her staff is warm and welcoming.
- Cate (6/5): Great place to stay if you have a car. - Margot is amazing and offered to take me to the chicken it a collective the next morning. Thank you Margot. Its a long walk to the town on foot. Couldn’t find a restaurant that was near at all.
- Yann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jana (10/5): We wanted to stay in calm place and it was best choose. - We choosed this accomodation because we didn't want to stay in centrum Valladalid. We wanted to visit Chichen Itza and cenotes near. It was our first stay in hacienda and it was nice. Staff didn't speak english but we used translater or hands😀and everything was ok. Pool is clean, big and after all day trip amazing. Price inclueded breakfast and bikes.

- Vanessa (6/5): - ( ) große Zimmer, nette Hausherrin
(-)
- Annalisa (8/5): Very good -
- FREDERIC (4/5): A éviter !!!!!
- Allan (9/5): Margot is a wonderful host so thoughtful and caring. Highly reccomend nice and peaceful! - Breakfast was refreshing and nutritious! Nice coffee. The rooms were really big which meant it took a while for the room to cool down
- Tobias (9/5): Fine accommodation managed by a very friendly family - Fine accommodation managed by a very friendly family. Rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast was good too.
- Miroslav (10/5): Hacienda Margot is great and I’d definitely recommend it. - Owner and employees were super nice! It is a bit far from the center but still walkable.
- Xiorcal (8/5): Very good - The staff was awesome! Super friendly and really helpful.
- Veronica (7/5): Good -
- Juditxi (8/5): Very good - The owner was very nice and the outside patio was very charming, especially at night. Some of the room features were old. The door was made of wood and was very pretty; however, it was very old and, at the hinges, it had scotch tape to prevent the air from filtering through. The faucet in the sink was also quite old and the water pressure in the shower was exceedingly low.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Margot and Lupo are wonderwel. Breakfast was fine, when we asked for egg and tomato we got it. We used the bicyccles. It was a great start of our holiday. Nothing
- Eduardo (10/5): - The property was a nice place to stay. The hosts super kind and attentive. They could improve the cleaning. There was dust in some places and the shower's floor didn't look very clean either. I would recommend this property only if you have a car because it is not very close to the downtown area.
The first room we were moved into was very large and didn't cool much with the AC, so we asked to move into a smaller room, which the staff kindly accepted. That one was very comfortable.
- ernesto (10/5): - Todo estuvo perfecto.
- Jackie (9/5): Very good, would recommend!! - Very good, great location, large rooms, especially wonderful hosts - thanks so much! Would definitely recommend and stay again!
- Jon (8/5): Good, friendly place to stay in Valladolid, with an excellent host. - Pretty courtyard and pool, with very large and spacious rooms. Margot was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us tips and helping us to arrange a visit to a cenote. The sheets had a stain of some sort. The rooms were quite hot when we arrived, and it took quite a while for the AC to cool then off. The location is a bit too far from town to walk. (It takes about 10 minutes and costa MXN 45 by taxi from the center). I would feel more comfortable if the front gate could be locked at night or if there were a security camera.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Outstanding friendly people with always a smile on their faces!
- Heather (10/5): - The room was very ice. The courtyard facing room was quiet. Refrigerator in the room was nice. Free breakfast included was good, and they even made a sandwich that I could take on the road for lunch. Staff was friendly and helpful. They provided a paper area map. But they spoke little English. We came by rental car, and there was space to park, but there were only four spaces, so when the hotel is more crowded, other guests may have to park on the street. There was not anything of interest in walking distance, but then again that helped make it quiet.
- János (9/5): Enjoyed our stay here. The host vas very kind and helpful. - Beautiful big room, comfortable bed, nice garden and pool The first day there was a strong disifectant smeĺl, but soon cleared up. Not big problem
- Dahooxe (9/5): Superb - Nice owner, large room, amazing breakfast The room is not very clean.
- Leonora (9/5): Superb -
- Lorenzo (9/5): Superb -
- Eefje (7/5): Good -
- Johanna (8/5): Nice stay with free bikes for 1-3 days - Nice looking hacienda with friendly staff, the man which provides breakfast and cleans rooms and the pool is the soul of the place, he is helpful when you speak spanish. Pool in the middle was nice chill out area. Free bikes are a huge plus to go to the centoes around on your own. Location is a bit further from the center but easy to each with the free bikes.
Rooms and bathrooms could definitely be a lot cleaner.
Rooms could also need an update on furniture, not nicely but together.
- Tauer (10/5): Lovely accommodations with even lovlier hosts. Highly recommend. - We loved the hostess and her spouse. They were more than accommodating, delivering me an extra pillow, air conditioning remote, and a blanket. The breakfast was great with fruit, yogurt, coffee, toast, and even a torta to go. We used the bikes to get further into town. We highly recommend it! Parking was a little tight, but we made it work. There were a few spider webs around the room, but our bed felt clean.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (8/5): Calm place to stay - massive room, lovely courtyard, lovely staff. it helps to speak a little Spanish. a bit far out of town
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diana (10/5): really recommend - so cozy, so nice owner, so nice. I like everything everything perfect
- James (9/5): A great base for exploring the area - The host was SO friendly. She got up early to make us breakfast when we went to Chichen Itza and even gave us tortas as a snack for lunch too! The room was wayyyy bigger than the one pictured, absolutely huge. Warm shower, nice pool, everything you need as a base to explore the area. Breakfast is great too, fruit and yoghurt and some cooked things also. Nothing! The hotel isn't a hacienda in the traditional sense, its a modern building as you can see better from the room pictures, but it's great value and a perfect base to travel to Chichen or cenotes from
- Marialudovica (10/5): Beautiful stay - Everything was above expectations. The hote is a little bit out of the centre which is perfect because you can relax, chill out and sleep. The pool is super clean and you will spend amaizing time there.
But what makes all better is the staff. "Margot"is fantastic, she makes you feel like home. Always smiling, whatever you will ask she will answer you. Lupe will prepare your breakfast and give to you the free bycicles which is a super extra service.
Also note: the room is cleaned everyday!!!
More than recommended!!
- Thijs (9/5): Warm stay - Extremely friendly and helpful people!
Quite and relax place.
Free bikes for rental so you can still easily go to the centre.
Nice breakfast.
Really large room, more space than needed.
And can help you with pick-up or drop off at ADO bus station.
- Gabriel (9/5): Very nice place with amazing people! - The amazing service and the authentic experience
- Nikolai (10/5): Super friendly host, quiet location, exceeded expectations. Breakfast before Chitzen Itza - One of the friendliest hosts ever. Felt like visiting an aunt or close family. Were upgraded to the largest room I've ever stayed in! Simple but nice breakfast (toast, fruit, yoghurt, coffee). Have it at 7:20am and reach Chitzen Itza by car just as the 1st tour bus arrives at 8:30 and you will have an hour with very few people. See the main pyramid first, then the ball court, then the observatory and nunnery. That way avoid the masses of annoying tour groups. Easy to drive into town and park or get a taxi. Super quiet location. Traditional mexican bakery around the corner. Host surprised us on both days with a very nice gesture. Won't say what it was, in case it isn't done for everyone... oh the mystery lol. Tip: Cenote Chukum (cave type), only people there till 11am. Everything was perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We spent two nights at Hotel Hacienda Margot and it was delightful. The rooms were enormous, the beds huge and comfortable, and we virtually had the entire hotel to ourselves. Staff were friendly and helpful despite language barrier. Like having a private villa. The evening projection show on the ex-Convent walls was well worth seeing and we wouldn't have known about it without the recommendation from the desk. On the outskirts of town so a good walk or short drive to local attractions/restaurants. Be aware they don't take credit card payment. All in all a very nice experience.
- Nicky (10/5): - In very quiet place, it has only a few rooms, but they are large.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel Margot - Great friendly staff. Thanks
- JOHN (8/5): Oasis in Valladolid - Hotel Hacienda Margot is an oasis in Valladolid. Our room was enormous clean comfortable and right on the pool.
- Andreas (8/5): Happy alone - Beautiful place
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly staff lovely hotel - Staff were incredibly friendly and made some great suggestions for local spots of interest. Would definitely recommend
- Wendy (8/5): Local hideaway - The hotel is located in a rural area of Valladolid and is walkable to town about 40 mins or take a taxi for about 40 pesos. Super friendly owner and staff. Small complaint: everything is white. Adding some colour to the property by painting a few walls will make the property more attractive and give you that good Mexican feel. Small complaint: replace the dry crispy premade "toast" with a toaster and bread and let the client make some real toast. Other than these two small complaints we had a great stay, super comfy bed, loads of hot water.
- marina (10/5): Great place to stay. - Excellent Service!
- rRodrigo (8/5): - Muy buena atención, muy tranquilo y seguro
- richard (8/5): Great option for Colonial Style Hotel - Great small colonial hotel with an inviting pool and nice breakfast of fresh fruit and cereal. Very friendly staff and owners who made a point of making guests feel welcomed. Hotel is a little tricky to find but gave us an opportunity to tour that part of town. Cab rides to and from the main square were affordable and made it easy to enjoy the centro.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to stay close to center of town - Very secure and safe, quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful place outside the city centre - Very warm welcome and excellent infrastructure. Tasteful decoration, plenty of space.
- Linda (8/5): Lovely people - We loved it. Comfy bed, good shower (lots of hot water) and lots of space. Yogurt, fruit and toast for breakfast and coffee and tea available all the time. Free use of bikes. The only downside is it's far from the center and there's no nearby restaurants. It's only 30 pesos for a cab but we took the bikes. They gave us a piñata when we left and special bread for 3 reyes. I owe them tamales.
- Wasiq (8/5): Very Friendly Staff, but shower would not drain - Overall, this was a well priced option. Location was rather remote in a suburban subdivision in the town of Vallidolid (we were thinking we would be withing walking distgance of Chichen Itza, but were almost 40 minutes drive away). Need a bike or car to reach restaurants and other options outside the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, though nobody spoke English at the hotel. The worst part of the room was the fact that water from the shower would not drain after use, so one ended up in a high puddle of dirty water after every shower.
- Van (10/5): Felt Like Family - We had a wonderful time at Hotel Hacienda Margot. The room was spacious and the courtyard and swimming pool are beautiful. The owners and staff are generous and kind and we felt like family the entire time we stayed here.
- Jessy (8/5): A recommandé ! - Hôtel avec beacoup de charme. Piscine + vélo mis à disposition gratuitement. Petit déjeuner royal !
- brian Douglas (6/5): - Overall, this is a good place to stay, only concern we had was that when we went out to dinner , they came into our room and shut off the A/C, this should not have happened! Rooms are very large, A/C units are small and limited to 25 degrees C so room really doesn't get comfortable temperature wise!
