Guest Reviews
- zeni7886 (6/5): Good location but inside service is not as expected defo not a 4* - Where can I start i will tell you all the good points then why you shouldnt book
We went with a group stayed here for 6 days the location is fine 10-15min walk to the A1 gate of the haram so not that far but could get longer if they close the entrances to go to the mosque.
The rooms are clean but be mindful they dont change your towels and bedding everyday its every other day like may be after 2 days. They clean the bins regularly everyday.
It is not value for money as we have stayed here yes its close by but basic stuff like hot water to have a shower is not available I have complained everyday to be told that we will change your room they keep messing you around. Say come at magrib, isha and then the next morning but they dont do anything. Yes I went with the group but even they couldn't do anything as staff keep given them the same excuses.
After all this shower business was told they have a small boiler in such a massive hotel bare in mind the have over 14 floors and 2 towers and said thats how the water comes out becuase of this I dont recommend it unless ur not bothered.
The noise level around the rooms its been quiet not noisy but the reception is always very busy.
It is a very busy hotel. The atmosphere is very busy. The lifts are fine they come down very quickly so no issue there. Breakfast is ok in 6 days we have only been down twice to have breakfast.
Would not really recommend because of the water issue if your not bothered then its a good location.
- 174sahila (8/5): Umrah trip - I stayed in the emaar grande Makkah in room 1019. Our cleaner was Amar and he was very nice and cleaned our room to a good standard and provided toiletries when needed. He always asked if we needed anything and ensured we weren’t without. The view from the room was amazing as you can view the clock tower.
- jamila (8/5): - If you going for chilling very nice hotel but we going for umrah . When i go for umrah i don't like to missed 1 prayers in haram but this hotel not convinced for 5 times prayers in haram. Especially like me health conditions . It's quite far when you back from prayers, all gate get close. You need to walk 15 minutes. Then many millions people crossing the road , doing shopping. Beggars, footpath close by those silly womans for there cheap staff sailing . It's not easy for health problems people. In shaa Allah next years i will avoid long distance hotel.
- Safra (2/5): - It was not the best experience. There were leaks in the bathroom. The csdpet was not clean. We were not placed in the same floor even though we were promised this would be done.
- 401rahmanm (2/5): Worst experience at breakfast - I had a very disappointing experience with the breakfast service at this hotel. The staff were extremely aggressive and lacked basic hygiene standards. While I was eating, they were spraying cleaning chemicals in the dining area, which is very inappropriate around food.
I had just placed my plate on the table and stepped away for a drink, but within seconds, a staff member began cleaning my table, spraying near my food and pushing my plate aside, even though it was untouched. When I politely asked why they were cleaning my table when I had just arrived, I received no response, only dismissive looks.
The staff also pushed chairs roughly when moving behind guests, showing no patience or courtesy. Sadly, I ended up feeling unwell later that day — I don’t know if it was from the food or from the cleaning spray getting on my meal.
Overall, the breakfast experience was unpleasant, and the service needs significant improvement in professionalism, hygiene, and customer care.
- glen (10/5): - Good staff
- Gladys (2/5): - It's a matter of mistake in location of hotel and a matter of few second when I realised that I made a mistake in location of the hotel then I lost the money which I know is still in the agency. So your agency is gluttonous and greedy.
- Bhatti (10/5): - Bed were clean and comfortable and food was nice
- Samira (8/5): - first off the walking distance isn’t actually 17 minutes, i would say much less. you can see the clock tower from the hotel. the rooms were good, it took us a while to figure out the AC but that’s ok. breakfast was 3/5. they dont really change anything except like two dishes daily but other then that it’s fine. the staff were friendly but sometimes it was difficult to find the receptionist or talk to them because they would stop the conversation they are having with you to go and talk to someone else, very annoying but what can i do. overall you get what you paid for so in the end it wasn’t bad but i wouldn’t say it was good. will probably get the hotel in the future tho we will see inshAllah. first picture it what it looks like walking in and the second is the view from the window(it was the 5th floor)
- Quest56888070893 (6/5): Okay - The hotel could do with an upgrade especially the bathrooms. The water smells odd which is not pleasant and the tiles appear old. The pressure of the shower is good with both hot and cold water. The rooms are a bit cramped. Includes a fridge, kettle, coffee, tea bags (exposed out of its wrapper), no milk. No space to pray in the room as its small, but there is mosque in the building which is really nice.
The lifts are quick and plenty of them.
Staff are friendly. Room service only makes the bed. No wipe down of bathroom and no hoover. Bedroom window was cracked.
Hotel is about a 10 to 15 min walk to the haram. There are lots of shops on the roads including Asian restaurants.
Overall its ok but I wouldn't stay here again. Its more a 4 star (at a push), and location of the hotel brings it down further.
- Imrankhan1982 (2/5): TERRIBLE - No service! STAY AWAY! The staff doesnt Care. I Waited 3 hours and first when I went Down to yell at them. They sent someone. Rooms are poor.
- Sam_Thu_Man (4/5): Not so Grand - Overall disappointed with the dated rooms, horrendous carpet, ludicrous lifts and shower which let's out water unless you're showering with one hand and holding tight the door with the other! Customer service, as in from the front desk, non-existent, really, just a nod here and there. TBH was not here to make friends with them.
On a plus side, the beds were decent and didn't experience the roaches and stuff another reviewer mentioned. And breakfast buffet was not bad, quite pleasant. The hotels internal Mosque was very nice, best part of the hotel. That pretty much saved it from getting a 1. We were a family of 4.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Great hotel, amazing stay, staff mamager very helpful
- ashh889 (6/5): Good hotel a bit far from mosque for my liking - Overall hotel is good but if you are travelling with kids it's a bit far from the Haram. My kids struggled with the walk to the mosque. 12-15 min walk to the Haram but the crowd makes the journey longer. Breakfast at hotel has a lot of choices but not great choices. I'd avoid breakfast.
- DayTrip48275358688 (2/5): Filled with roaches. - DONT COME HERE. INFESTED WITH ROACHES. There’s roaches and bugs inside the fridge, the bathroom, the beds. When complaining about the bugs on my pillow, the receptionists are rude and will pretend not to speak english to not have to deal with you. They offered a new room, but checked to see that the bathroom was even worse. The bathroom is infested with cockroaches and has mold. The shower is dirty and moldy. The cleaners don’t clean the rooms unless you personally ask them, but even then they will act like you asked them such a big favour. They don’t disinfect the area, vacuum, clean the bathroom, or tidy the desks. They don’t offer new towels, new bedsheets (which come stained), or toilet tissue unless you press them for it. The rooms have a weird smell when you enter. The lifts system is terrible and takes ages just to get one to come to your floor. The telephones are fake. The server in the cafe hides the labels to charge a higher price.
- Ali (8/5): Walking distance to haram. - Hotel is very busy due to location. Not recommended with young families due to on very busy commercial road.
- Mohammad Nabeel Asim (2/5): - Had a terrible experience with Emaar Grand. Reception staff is outright rude and unhelpful. Was given a dirty and stuffy room at first. Got it changed to another one with only 2 towels (between 4 people), empty bottle of hand soap, no iron in the room (took us 4 hours just to get one), dirty fridge. The reception never answers when you call. Pathetic way to treat guests especially those who travel far distances and are there to perform religious duties.
- Fatima (10/5): - Alhumdulliah ir was great but need to have micro wave in the room
- KamranKalwar (2/5): Hotel doesn’t provide the basic facilities No towels no iron no reception attendants - It started from when we checked inn
I requested the bell boy to collect our baggage n transfer to our room he didn’t respond
Second thing house keeping guys they dont answer calls
Asked them for towels they refused to provide
Even they dont irons
It is my worst experience
- Bilquees (8/5): Comfortable and spacious. - It was a good stay. Had issues with towels though. Only one bath towel for 3 adults. Had to phone, go down to reception and ask the cleaners before we were given 3 towels.
- Amer (6/5): - This is not a 5 star by any means, it is barely a 4 star.
Old amenities, very crowded area and quality of people at the area is not a 5 star level with all due respect.
Also, it is definitely more than 740 meters away.
Room was old, mattress was uncomfortable
- Mohammed (2/5): - Tres mauvaise expériences
- RACHID (10/5): - ما شاءالله كل شىء رايع و مريح كانت ايام كالحلم .اشكر كل الطاقم و شكرا خاص لياسين
- Mirza (6/5): - No room service
Not enough towels in bathroom.
All room service numbers are busy.
One of our room water leaking from roof.
No toiletries in bathrooms.
- Shabbir (2/5): - Bathroom very dirty
Small room for 4 person
- ibrahimk209 (2/5): RUN AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE - The hotel is a disaster to deal with. We booked a double room and we needed to add 2 more beds and there was no option to do that. We were advised to cancel and book another room so we did. We’ve been contacting the hotel since December and they refused to accept the cancellation of the first room. Booking advised us that they would waive the commission but the hotel lied to us and blamed it on booking of course. This has been going on for 3 months.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist Motaz is beyond rude. I’ve never seen anything like it. He kept my 70+ year old mother waiting on the stairs for 3 hours. He told me he’d rush to get her in the room. This was another obvious lie. He was doing everything he could to delay the check in. He told me he’d check her in so I left to do umra and just as I was about to start, I found out he doesn’t want to allow her to check in till I’m back so I leave and come back to the hotel.
He then starts asking me for irrelevant stuff. Tells me my reservation is only for one night instead of two nights. Doesn’t even want to hand me the key to check in for the one night. Instead asks me to go to the reservations in the other building all the while keeping my mother waiting on the stairs. Tells me the rooms are in opposite buildings. Of course, when I check with reservations, I find out he was lying and that the reservation indeed was for 2 nights.
Room is alright. Location is good but the service. I feel like fainting from the headache this hotel has caused me and I obviously have to go to masjid Aisha now and to enter Ihram again from the trouble these people caused me.
If you don’t mind getting cheated and feel like you’re begging for a room that you paid for, then by all means stay here. Otherwise, for any sane person: AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.
- y (8/5): - Room service is not good
Most of the time there is no one at the front desk
- Mohammed S (4/5): - The room was very tight no lunch space to move about, the insects was coming out from the bathroom drain. Reception staff was not kind or friendly at all,
- mohammed Shahin (2/5): - The staff at the reception not helpful at all, don’t even acknowledge you at all. Very rude. Not worth the money we spent.
- Sakina (8/5): - Good and clean hotel
- Majid (10/5): - Around a 15/20mins walk from Al Haram.
- Abul (8/5): - Shows pictures on Expedia Emaar grand it’s not correct they gave room on next store which is make me bit unhappy and no room service at the property it’s unusual but overall everything is ok and considering
- Marouane (4/5): - Chambre très peu reposante, bruit de machinerie juste à coté du lit avec une intensité jamais vu ailleurs.
Le bruit s'enclenche entre 1h et 4h du matin...
- rhejahanm (10/5): Best hotel in Makkah!! - Best hotel in Makkah, service is second to none we have stayed here for 14nights and it was the best experience ever we have been Makkah a number of times but this time round had to be the best experience, house keep are really friendly and helpful always making sure your room is clean and tidy. Big shout to Ahmed Gamal and his team!!!
- Abdalla (10/5): - Walkable for young people to the Haram and it’s busy aria
- Roving13385947162 (2/5): The most unpleasant hotel experience I have ever had. - The worst hotel experience.
While arriving and trying to check-in they mentioned that our booking not paid!! And we paid it 3 days before arrival, we had to waste more time and go to another building to reservation office and then they discovered the booking is already paid then start checking process again !!
The phone is not working.
Electrical plug beside the beds not working, so you have to charge your phone in the bath room.
The dryer in the bathroom not working.
Shampoo holder in the bathroom is dropping and you have to fix it again then drop again!
After taking the shower you’ll find all the water going to the room itself!!
Not near to the Harram and you have to walk more than 14 minutes, so not a good option for old people
- Arslan (2/5): - The staff didn't made us wait unnecessarily for 4 hours during the check-in only to say that the booking doesn't exist. After 2 more hours, they found the booking but the room was not ready yet. The staff will deal with you as if they are doing you a big favour. There were no toiletries in the room for the entire during of my stay, no towels. And reception never picked up the call nor did they speak English. Avoid at all cost!
- muhammadsF9427NO (10/5): Best - The location is excellent and the hotel is very great and the room service is also excellent and thanks to Ahmed gamal floor supervisor he take care of the clean of our room very well will surely come next year and breakfast was also excellent and the WiFi is also good
- khans368 (10/5): Excellent - Good hotel good service gives extra water when need spacious rooms spacious toilet shower room. Helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet. Good location from Mecca walking distance to hotel. Located in busy shopping area. I will be using this hotel again and will recommend friends and family to come here
- 248sidneyj (2/5): Never - Absolute joke of a hotel, the bell boy is soo rude, rooms literally stink of urine, rooms phone doesn't work , reception staff don't speak English or Arabic they don't speak at all, won't be using any of emaars other hotels as well, my friend was going to book this hotel but after hearing my review, they changed their mind. Thank god
- Aissa (10/5): - Top
- Aissa (10/5): - Tres propre proche de mosque et personnel gentille a l ecoute .je le recommande 100/100.
- Zafeer (10/5): - Staff are always brilliant. They constantly cleaning the cafe in lobby is brilliant lovely karak chai! Easy walk plenty lifts easy accessible. Rooms are spacious clean
- Khalid (10/5): - Tha hotel cleaning is great so is the staff. You feel welcome by the staff.
- C5444CIfatimaa (6/5): What is it with the receptionists - Receptionist 1 - without Nikab, medium build spoke English very well was warm and welcoming.
Receptionist 2 - with Nikab, slim build. English was very basic with very strong Arabic accent. Poorly mannered is an understatement. I'd booked and paid through booking.com. yet she was asking me to pay again. I showed her me phone. Then after phoning around she finally agreed. Either they have a poor IT system or she's incompetent. I suspect the latter.
The hotel itself isn't going to win any prices but to be fair it's not bad for a 3 star. The imam has a lovely voice and the hotel mosque is really good. If they can sort out the awful receptionist it would make a massive difference. Cleaning staff are lovely and hardworking
- Ahmad (8/5): Excellent reception team - Excellent team in reception specially rahaf
Excellent location.
- AHMED (10/5): - Ha sido una buena experiencia lo recomiendo 100%, el personal muy amables , tenia el desayuno incluido y la verdad me encanto, volveré inchalah en este hotel si sigue asi
- Abdullah (10/5): - Amazing hotel and service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Decent hotel not too far from the Masjid Al Haram
- 567mussarata (10/5): Fabulous stay - Lovely friendly efficient staff.Fresh towels and all toiletries topped up every day Lovely breakfast lots of choice.10-15mins walk to Masjid Al Haram. It can be very hot outside temperatures reaching 51 degrees it might be difficult for the elderly to walk there.Lots of fabulous local restaurants especially the Pakistani hotels.exceptional food 10/10.My only criticism is the bathrooms need to be kept a bit cleaner just a quick clean and polish will be sufficient .Laundry service is excellent too
- Muhammad (2/5): - Staff too horible not professional
Spend 7 nights and rooms too noisy my children could not get proper sleep even many times complain but staff looks not want to do any help for their guest what eva issue u have.
- m (10/5): - 7 night stay. Approx 1km 10 minute walk if youre young and able to walk. Just remember to leave 40 minutes before prayers and you will have the shotest walk to prauer area inside. Leave late and your walk becomes 2km and you may not get inside. Clean hotel. Dont expect much and you will be pleasantly surprised. You get what you pay for. Dont expect marriott standard on a budget. Ive stayed here before and will do again.
- Mohamed (10/5): - Amazing
- free (2/5): - To start off was given a key to a room that already had a family in there. That was really embarrassing for both parties. there was no hot water in the shower the shower glass door inside handle was broken couldn’t close it. No shower gel limited amount of soap given. The rod handle inside the shower was wonky. Overall not a good experience
- Sumon (10/5): - Friendly and ticks all the boxes
- Tariq (10/5): - Excellent hotel all around. Close to Haram, very polite and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant highly recommend
- Shabir (8/5): - Multilingual staff at the reception would be much appreciated.
- Abdullah (8/5): - Too far from Haram, did not actually give us toilet paper after we requested some. That’s the only bad points. Overall good.
